Yay, love looking at peoples' photos on here, knotty!

God, Happyp, that bug sounds nasty Sad. Glad you're on the mend.

Have Shauned again today (more Hip Hop Abs) and may be developing a slight Shaun-crush (sorry Jillian!). It's so "feel-good", which, much as I love Jillian, is not really her style!

Going on hols tomorrow so need to decide which DVD to take with me (going in car so can take weights if nec)... any votes?

Happypiglet · 27/07/2013 08:40

She is lovely knottyhair what a beautiful shock!
Can't recommend a DVD for hols as I always give myself a break exercise wise even it holidaying in UK.... I like to tell myself it's god for me ut really I just have no will power!

Happypiglet · 27/07/2013 08:41

And clearly can't type!

knottyhair · 27/07/2013 13:15

Thanks Happypiglet Smile. Jackster, I tend to take a few different ones as I get bored easily - I think last time I took Shred, Ripped, BFBM & NMTZ. I found doing a level of Shred or Ripped, or a few circuits of the others was enough for a holiday! Have a lovely time.
Did L1 S&S this morning - does anyone else find those Brazilian wotnames very easy? (the first ones, not the ones where you pretend you're holding a ball) I keep thinking I can't be doing them right, as I find the rest of it fairly challenging, and Jillian talks about them as if they should be really tough.

Jacksterbear · 27/07/2013 17:48

Well I decided on just NMTZ, as we're staying in an upstairs apartment so not too much scope for jumping around! I like to exercise on hols as it means I can enjoy wine, desserts etc without too much guilt! Will try to do 3-4circuits at least 3-4 times while away this week.

I agree re that move knotty, I don't really get the point of it either, although do have to try not to lean back too much as it hurts my back a bit.

threestepsforward · 27/07/2013 17:49

Afternoon everyone :)

Knotty welcome back again! I love that Brazilian move although like you I don't find it that hard. I think it's basically working your quads (when you get low) and for me definitely my butt as it feels like you squeeze each side when you step back...

Your DD is adorable by the way :)

Just off to do a L1 S&S, will do the same tomorrow and then hopefully will have planned a plan for next week and onwards. Feeling a bit hefty at the moment and am going to a wedding in 2 weeks time so am hoping to feel a bit lighter by then...

Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone, it's pouring with rain here - I think the garden will be happy!

OP posts:
knottyhair · 28/07/2013 06:10

Same as you Jackster re: exercise on holidays. I also find it hard starting again after a week or two's break, so I'd rather keep going. Threesteps, hope you enjoyed S&S!
No Jillian for me today as we're leaving to visit friends first thing. But I've just weighed myself and I've lost 2.5lbs this week in sweat. Must try not to sabotage it during lunch out at a tea room and my friend's lovely cooking. Planning on maybe 6W6P L1 tomorrow for a bit of variety. Hope you're all having a lovely weekend.

Ponks · 28/07/2013 09:06

With that Brazilian capoeira move I try to stay as low as possible and make the move back as explosive as possible to get max workout.

Went back to Killer Buns on Friday - haven't done that for ages - really enjoyed it & can feel the effects today! Definitely one to keep dropping in to the mix.

threestepsforward · 29/07/2013 12:21

Well done on the weight loss Knotty :)

Ponks I'm definitely doing some Killer Buns this week! I'm starting with a Shred today, Killer 1 tomorrow, then S&S 1, then Killer 2, then one of the S&Ss. At the weekend I may possibly do S&S back to back Shock I've done that twice before so it is doable but yikes!

Now I've written that down I have to do it lol

My back has very quietly grumbled over last few days but I'm seeing the chiro tomorrow so hopefully he'll crack it back into place!

Have a good day everyone :)

OP posts:
Ponks · 29/07/2013 19:07

Oof threesteps that sounds a meaty week! Hope the back stands up to it all. DH did Killer 2 last night while I hid behind the sofa and I had forgotten how tough it was. I don't think I have ever seen him so sweaty. So I'd go for an easier day afterwards Smile.
Tonight I was home early so did S&S L1 followed by a couple of circuits from L2. Couldn't manage both back to back today; I kind of switch off a bit at the end of L1 and can't keep the momentum going for all of L2. My plan for the week is: riding lesson Tues / Shred Weds / Ripped Thurs / Killer Fri / 6W6P Sat. But whenever I plan ahead something generally goes awry so who knows!

threestepsforward · 29/07/2013 21:42

Lol at you hiding behind the sofa Ponks! Your week is sounding pretty punchy too, go us! I know what you mean about things changing and plans going awry though, fingers crossed...

I thought I'd go easy on day 1 with L1 Shred - all with 2.5 except for last set of arm raises, when I went down to 1.5 kg. The second last strength exercise - arm raises lying on the floor- I also do a semi-bridge thing to work bum at same time.

Well I was knackered by the end of it!! I think it just must be the length of each interval, and the cardio seems more full-on than S&S.

Loved it though - bring on L1 Killer tomorrow Grin

OP posts:
knottyhair · 30/07/2013 06:40

Ponks, I love Killer Buns as well Smile.
threesteps, good luck with back to back S&S, and hope the chiro can sort your back out.
Didn't do any Jillian yesterday in the end - we went out to the local outdoor museum with friends and it took ages to get ready to go! But it is a half hour walk each way, uphill on the way back pushing my butterball DD in the pushchair so at least it's something! So the plan for this week (subject to change of course!) is L1 6W6P today, Killer L1 tomorrow, L2 6W6P Thursday, Killer L2 Friday, S&S L1 Sat, poss S&S L2 Sunday. But DP may take a day off Thurs or Fri and we'll go out for the day if he does so we'll see...

Jacksterbear · 30/07/2013 13:01

Bloody hell there are some impressive plans going on for this week, great work all! Now you've written them down here, you all have to stick to them! Grin

Did all the odd-numbered circuits of NMTZ earlier, will do the even ones tomorrow or Thurs!

A non-scale victory: saw some photos dh took of me yesterday and did not cringe too much at any body part, a big achievement for me as usually I'd be thinking my thighs looked massive, etc! Grin

notyummy · 30/07/2013 14:40

Most impressed with all these plans! Welcome back Knotty and well done on weight loss. I got back late Sunday from three days away at a festival where beige carbs, lots of booze and little sleep were the order of the day! Managed a 4 mile walk and my Callanetics DVD yesterday but too busy at work today for anything. Plan to get up early tomorrow and progress to L3 Shred, having established that L2 Ripped is BAD for my back, I am trying a mixture of L3 Shred and L3 Ripped for the next 2 weeks, with walking, cross trainer and Callanetics thrown in. In Goid news, was with a big group of people at the festival, some if whom were 'friends of friends' who I hadn't met before. 4 separate ladies talked to me to compliment me on my figure (particularly abs) and to ask what I do to maintain figure. I told them about Jillian and Callanetics. I should be on bloody commission!

threestepsforward · 30/07/2013 21:30

Notyummy what a morale boost - I would have been chuffed too!

And Jackster, yay to nice pics! I absolutely hate having pics taken - it's actually quite rare to get a photo of me! That's a really nice and deserved reward for all the toil and Jillian'ing :)

Chiro cracked me back into position - I'm going monthly now and I'm pretty much there, he just needs to adjust me every once in a while to make sure everything's staying where it should be.

So with no excuse(!), I did day 2 of my Big Week which was L1 Killer. Whilst I really enjoyed it, it was no way as easy as I remember! In fact I've found L1 Shred and L1 Killer both spectacularly challenging. Felt slightly reassured in Killer when JM says this that L1 is 'basically a very very difficult workout progressing to a totally insane workout' (L3) Grin

On to day 3 tomorrow, L1 S&S - thank the lordie! Bit of respite before I attempt Killer 2 on Thursday!!

Check in tomorrow, hope everyone is okay :)

PaulSmenis · 31/07/2013 11:00

Has anyone else started L3 of Ripped in 30 and thought "What new manner of torture is this?" I've done 2 days and I've never been so stiff, sore and bloody hungry.

gingercat12 · 31/07/2013 14:08

PaulSmenis I was doing Ripped last week. IKWYM about constant hunger, although Body Revolution is even worse like that.

My schedule is Mon KB L1, TUE KB L2, WED too lazy, THU KB L3, FRI Bob probably Super Strength or Ripped Core and SUN BR Cardio 3. I might have to change it, if it is too hot or have less time, but I shall deffo do something each day.

Ponks I love KB L2, because I hate it. This time I found it a lot easier, but OTOH it brought AF on. Sorry TMI.

Aren't we all committed? The compliments are worth it notyummy Grin
I ordered half the Lands' End catalogue in the sales and it was seriously weird that my size in the US is S. I am not small, and never will be. But felt deceptively good Blush. BTW the clothes actually fit, so the sizing was right.

threestepsforward · 31/07/2013 15:46

Gingercat sounds like a fruitful shopping trip! I just went a bit overboard on ebay - no work for idle hands at the mo, which is when ebay becomes very appealing Grin Did get some birthday pressies though so not all bad...

Your week sounds very hardcore - I'm impressed!

PaulSmenis (love your name lol), I'm trying to think back to when I last attempted Ripped, and the answer is a loooong time ago, and I think I know why!! I seem to remember actually feeling a bit sick after some of the L3 and L4 workouts...

L1 S&S done! I used my gifted Zagorra hotpants and sweated BUCKETS! I can't imagine the mess if you used them in that recent heatwave! Weirdly though, they seem to support you so you can get even lower in squats etc.

L2 Killer for me tomorrow. I know I'll struggle. I can't understand why my ability (fitness) doesn't seem to improve despite a long time Jillianing Hmm. And I gave up smoking more than 3 months ago Hmm. I'm not gasping for breath or anything, it's more my general stamina...

Have a great rest of day all, will check in tomorrow :)

OP posts:
PaulSmenis · 31/07/2013 17:04

Ginger and threesteps, I am royally fucked today. I thought ripped would be a walk in the park after alternating bewteen 6w6p amd no more trouble zones. Stupidly, I went straight in at level 3. Big mistake. I'm having a day off!

gingercat12 · 01/08/2013 12:10

PaulSmenis Hope you are ok!!! Ripped is never a walk in the park - for me at least. I remember thinking just lying on the floor after l$ Ripped, that it is the appropriate cool down for it.

L3 KB was doable today, so perhaps I needed a rest day yesterday.

threesteps Well done on giving up smoking. that must have been tough! I am weaning myself off the internet, and it is amazing how much more time I suddenly have.

threestepsforward · 01/08/2013 20:58

Gingercat - unfortunately I seem to have replaced my smoking habit with your Internet habit - ebay and Amazon in particular!! Must rein it in before my next credit card statement is due Shock I only ever buy small, silly things, but it all adds up!

I did L3 KB today too!! I suddenly thought L2 is not the one, so went to L3 - both enjoyed it and struggled. I think there was one point just before first set of jumping lunges that I nearly sat down lol I didn't though :)

Paul hope you are recovered today. Ripped is certainly no 'cake walk' and seems to test even the hardest and toughest exercisers!

Realised today that I won't be able to do any JMing tomorrow so will plan to do L2 S&S on Saturday and the double on Sunday. Will be cycling around a fair bit tomorrow so that's something...

Hope everyone is doing well :)

OP posts:
knottyhair · 02/08/2013 10:01

threesteps, good luck with the double! I did Killer L2 yesterday and just finished L1 S&S, and am a sweaty mess! No Jillian tomorrow as we're going to London for the day (trying out the cable car near the O2 - anyone been on it?), but I'm going to attempt L2 S&S for the first time on Sunday - is it bad??

threestepsforward · 02/08/2013 12:23

Hi Knotty! L2 S&S is not so much hard, as a bit odd the first few times you do it! Some of the moves are quite weird and it doesn't flow as easily as L1 I think. The last circuit I find a real challenge as it's all static positions (forgotten the technical term) which you have to hold right at the end of the workout when you're tired. You'll do great :)

THe cable car sounds amazing. Haven't been on it but would love to. Last time I was there, going over Waterloo bridge on the bus, there was this fairground ride (like swings on strings) really high up and flinging people round over the Thames. I wonder if it is a permanent fixture or was only up for the Olympics. I so would have had a go if I wasn't catching a train!

Have fun tomorrow :)

Enforced rest day for me but no particular plans this weekend so will be Jillianing with gusto...

Have a good day everyone x

p.s. for all those who were interested in facial yoga - google Eva Fraser and be amazed!! She's not had a thing done and only started exercising her face in her 60s I think (she's in her 80s now).
I've bought her book Grin

knottyhair · 03/08/2013 05:35

Thanks threesteps, L2 sounds "interesting"! I got DP to try the downward dog one from L1 where you grab the opposite ankle - bless him, he couldn't straighten his legs! Makes me feel better that he can do one-legged push-ups without breaking a sweat Envy.

Did my weigh-in a day early impatient, me? and I've lost another 1.5lbs so slow but steady.
