Hi all.... last week was BAD...only exercised twice... so anyway onwards and upwards.
L3 RI30 again today...I am feeling it already..ouch
Well done Ponks on 10 press ups
Hope the Dr is kind Notyummy
How is the cold Jackster?

Jacksterbear · 02/07/2013 11:46

Feeling better today and have done a Tae-Bo / TurboJam double bill!

Overreaction and Happyp hope you are both getting back into the swing of it this week.

Newsflash: caught sight of my behind in the mirror earlier and noticed it's sticking out more than usual - in a good way! Grin Sadly the bottom of my bottom (where it meets my legs) is still wobbly and saggy, BUT the top of my bottom, where it meets my back, is all of a sudden looking really firm and perky (you could bounce a quarter off it, as Jillian would say Grin). Woo hoo!

Now just to work on the horrible wobbly saddle-bag thighs... sigh...

threestepsforward · 02/07/2013 14:39

Hello everyone!

I'm so sorry not to have read back and also SO sorry to have gone AWOL for so long. I fell massively off the Jillian wagon and have been avoiding the thread as it made me feel guilty lol

A combination of bad back and work just kicked me out of the routine, but I'm determined to get back into the swing of it. Starting from ... tomorrow ...

Still not smoking, which is some consolation!

I will come back tomorrow and keep posting to keep me on the straight and narrow.

Well done to everyone who's been working hard and seeing results, I will be taking inspiration from you all when I come back...

Threesteps x

Well done on perky arse Jackster and get back on it threesteps.

In big news I hAve now done 2 level 1 shreds and a level 1 Ripped with no ill effects. Only one at a time and only with 1.5 kg but my thighs could tell that I hadn't done it for a while! Surgeon says I can do this sort of thing cautiously but must stop if any pain. Am also allowed on crosstrainer but no running for ages. Boo! He told me not to push my luck and that given the size of the prolapse I was lucky not to have more laying damage, so I will behave myself.....

threestepsforward · 02/07/2013 15:40

Wow notyummy! I can't believe your back on it so fast - you've done amazingly well in your recovery :)

OP posts:
Jacksterbear · 02/07/2013 19:37

Yay,3steps , glad u are ok, was going to ask after you again today but didn't want to be too weird and stalkerish Grin. Glad both you and notyummy are back on it despite injuries and hope you are being sensible!

Jacksterbear · 02/07/2013 19:39

Ooh sorry, weird bolding going on there!

threestepsforward · 02/07/2013 21:36

Grin Jackster, not at all weird and stalkerish, it made me go 'aw' Smile

I'm looking forward to getting back into it... This is the longest break I've had since starting on my Jillian journey eons ago Shock

Will be back tomorrow to let you know how I get on!

Hi threesteps get thee back to Extreme S&S you know you love it! Just miss out the bits that might hurt your back.

I'm still having to force myself to exercise as work stress & general lackadaisicalness is getting to me. But once I've done it I feel great and my energy returns so I know it is worth it. L2 Shred tonight with ipod of trashy 80's music helping me along. Blimey those "V" arm raises are tough.

Happypiglet · 03/07/2013 19:43

So RI30 again today- missed out yest as Ofsted decided to visit the school I am Governor at and I spent all day there...
Then to reward myself I went clothes shopping for summer stuff for Greece...a lot of my old stuff was too big or falling apart...I went into one of those changing rooms that allows you to see you rear view... hmmm not sure I have made as much progress there as I thought... still very flobbly... quite depressing really... how can I weigh 8 stone 12 and be 5 foot 4 and STILL have a really fat arse!!!
Contemplating the 5:2 diet to try to loose a few pounds before my hols...
Think I will try ES&S next as I need something to move onto after Ripped. Although I still have the awfulness of L4 for next week.
Maybe after my changing room experience I should just go for Killer Buns and Thighs... and maybe stop eating so much crap!

threestepsforward · 03/07/2013 20:12

Hello Ponks and Happypiglet :)

Happypiglet Killer Buns is a fantastic DVD, go for it!

Ponks you are so right about feeling better once you start exercising. I not only fell off the wagon, but the wagon trundled further and further away from me and I couldn't climb back on Grin I didn't even come into this section of the site at all so it didn't make me feel guilty, so silly!

Well done on those V-raises, they are indeed horrible!

Well I'm finally back in the swing. I did L1 S&S and jeez. I actually felt sick by the end, and very wobbly lol Shows how little time it takes to fall out of fitness. I'm hoping to be aching in the right way in the right places tomorrow...

Big hello to everyone else. I'm going to read back on everything I've missed over the weekend so I feel like I've properly caught up :)

Take care all x

Happypiglet · 04/07/2013 14:01

threesteps you talked me into it and I did L1 Killer this morning...ow ow ow..
I hope you ache in all the right places in the nicest possible way ..I am sure I will tomorrow.
ponks what are your plans today? Another L2 Shred?
Hope everyone else is OK too...
My plans to do the 5:2 diet have been ditched pro tem.. I think I will just keep doing JM, try to keep a lid on the junk I eat and avoid shop changing rooms! Grin

notyummy · 04/07/2013 14:07

Another L1 Ripped today plus 4 mile walk and gardening. Feeling blobby though- my period and I feel half stone heavier (although I know that is unlikely to be true but am staying away from scales as I know weight will reduce afterwards.) Plus spots. Friends coming this weekend and I really wanted to be trim and beautiful. Hmm.

Ponks · 04/07/2013 18:59

threesteps glad you have got back into it! You will feel better after honestly! (That's what I have to say to myself too)

Piglet I haven't done Killer Buns for ages ... you've inspired me and I'm going to pencil that in for the weekend ... tonight I have a riding lesson booked instead so no Shred planned - back in the swing tomorrow.

notyummy I am the same with water retention round my period - makes me feel breathless and generally lumpen. Horrible isn't it.

Happypiglet · 04/07/2013 21:43

Ponks I actually really enjoyed Killer. It's a bit longer tho soi can't do it tomorrow as time is tight... But I am def going to do it twice in my five workouts a week.
Been to Cubs family swim tonight not really a work out but a lot of movement. Wore a new crossie and looked OK I think.....
l3 Ripped again tommorrow

threestepsforward · 04/07/2013 22:13

Evening all!

Day 2 and much much better today, yay! Enjoyed being back in the zone.

Ponks, I'm Envy about the riding. I used to when I was little and I still miss it! Have a great ride :) And good luck with Killer at the weekend.

Happypiglet well done on Killer. And yay for the new cossie :)

Notyummy time of month is the pits isn't it. I just give myself up to chocolate over the first few days, to feed the hormones and shut them up Grin Hope you have a great weekend...

Will check in over the weekend and will hopefully continue to make progress back from my Jillian twilight zone...

Keep going people, it's Friday tomorrow and a sunny (Shock) weekend is approaching...

Sweet jesus I can barely walk today !!!
2 days of L1 S&S and my quads are seriously aching today Grin
Think I will take today off and resume on Saturday so I don't push it too much and too fast after a long break.
Nice to have that familiar achy feeling though...

Have a fantastic weekend everyone - hope the forecast looks as good for you all as it does down where I am, YAY! :)

Well done threesteps I love the ache I get with JM it makes me feel all virtuous!
RI30 again today still find the first circuit tough you get to Abs think you can catch your breath and then she gets you to do pike squats..... Ouch the stork stance reverse fly seems a breeze afterwards.
Hope you enjoyed the riding ponks what have you done today?
notyummy well done on getting back into it..hope the back is OK.
Have a good weekend all

notyummy · 05/07/2013 15:09

5 sessions this week ladies with no repercussions! Mixture of L1 Shred and L1 Ripped.

Jacksterbear · 05/07/2013 15:24

notyummy and 3steps, it's so great to hear you are both getting back on the exercise with (touch wood) no ill effects.

Happy well done for sticking with L3 Ripped; it's no walk in the park!

ponks hope riding was fun. Did u work out today?

Did L1 killer yesterday and L1 es&s today and my quads are aching too, 3steps! I find them those 2 workouts quite similar, actually. I do however find I have to be very careful not to strain my back in es&s - burpees plus yoga moves plus one of the "warrior" moves where you sort of lean back. I suspect that means I need to pull my core in tighter!

Happy weekend all. x

threestepsforward · 06/07/2013 08:27

Morning all!

Happypiglet well done with Ripped. What level did you do? Is that 3 with the pike squats, stork etc?

Notyummy yipee, you really sound like you're back on form. I'm so impressed with how you've come through your recovery.

Jackster wowee, S&S plus Killer, back to back? That really is a quad buster lol! I'm trying to work out which moves in L1 S&S are so quad intensive. The only ones I can really think are the marshal arts moves at in the last circuit?

Will anyone be joining me today in some hot workouts? Who needs Bikram yoga Wink

Have a great day everyone and enjoy the sunshine :)

threestepsforward · 06/07/2013 08:36

Doh! One of the reasons I was posting was to report back on my 'facial yoga'.

It bloody works Grin

I have definitely lost some of that Anthill Mob look on the lower portion of my face. And the nose area down to mouth lines are less obvious. I keep wondering if I've imagined it but it's definitely firmed up. Instead, each side of my mouth, I now have sort of 'commas', which looks far nicer than the flobby droop!

I've been very conscientious and have been doing it 2 times a day, but each session is only 2 mins I'm finding. And I still haven't gone further than the exercises I posted on here...

OP posts:
Ponks · 06/07/2013 20:54

threesteps I printed out that facial yoga you told us about but I never got round to it - you are inspiring me to actually have a go this time. Does it help get rid of tension too?

I have not Jillian'd for the last couple of days - had a great riding lesson on Thursday & could really feel the benefit of the improvement in my core muscles - helps you be much stronger and more effective in the saddle.
Friday had day off as was home late & v busy.
Then today was doing a lot of walking & my Achilles tendon has swollen up again & is sore Sad.
Fingers crossed tomorrow it will be ok for a workout. Want to do Killer or S&S - love those warrior moves & the one where you stand on one leg and kick forward then backward slowly.

Am trying to convert SIL to JM - being evangelical about Shred Grin - spread the word!

threestepsforward · 06/07/2013 21:24

Yay Ponks, give it a go! I'm not sure if it releases tension, only because each session is so short, I may be wrong. I'm sure it must relax the muscles on the face though.

When you think about how much you can tone your body up, it suddenly doesn't seem so silly that you can do the same for your face. One tip from me (that she says in the book) is to use your finger to sort of trace the line where you're going to go, just to give you the right direction. So if you're smiling from mouth towards temple, draw your finger along an invisible line from the corner of your mouth to your temple, it helps guide you. (Can't remember if I said that before.)

When I next go into my kindle I'll get the book name and author in case anyone is interested :)

Oh dear re your Achilles :( Hope it feels better after a night's rest. Your lesson on Thursday sounds great! I love the warrior move too, and I'm really enjoying the kickboxing, jenga stuff, sun salutation etc. in S&S.

I had yesterday off too, and I'm still sticking with L1 S&S for the mo, and did another today, late afternoon. Woowee, I was a dripping mess by the end! I'd spent about 2 hours in the garden earlier with a few beers so that may not have helped Grin

Have a great rest of weekend all - I'm going to the garden centre tomorrow and can't wait

Slap on that sun factor Grin

Ponks · 07/07/2013 20:34

Just done Extreme S&S L1 - feel great though kept the cardio bits low key to avoid aggravating the Achilles too much.

Big thanks to this thread for keeping me going - I so nearly didn't work out today what with the heat & an afternoon of ice cream & Wimbledon watching - but I want to keep posting my progress here so I made myself do it and v glad I did. Smile
