I would like facial yoga book details please!

Back a bit bad today. Hard to say whether it was the Shred i did yesterday or all the running around after guests all weekend (and then getting a bit squiffy and not sitting properly...) Will just do some walking and calletics today and see how it feels tomorrow.

threestepsforward · 08/07/2013 17:13

Afternoon everyone!

Notyummy good plan to take it easy on the back today. See how it feels tomorrow.

Ponks well done on exercising despite the heat, and the tennis! I also did S&S on Saturday and Sunday and was also really glad I did!

On the theme of backs, I've decided for the time being to do 2 days on, 1 day off just so my back doesn't take a constant pummeling. So today is my day off, which is just as well as I've been in the garden for most of it digging and planting etc. Despite slathering on the sunblock, I've certainly caught the sun look like a tomato Grin

Notyummy and others interested in the face workout, the book I bought (via kindle) is Eva Fraser's Facial Workout. It wasn't expensive and if you are interested in doing the exercises, I recommend you get it as it has helpful pics in Smile

The reviews on amazon are pretty good, worth a read too...

Have a lovely evening everyone :)

Well the week got off to a bad start.. Woken at 5am with the most horrendous period cramps (think early stage labour!)....it's not been this bad since I had the DC so not sure what is going on. So vomited with pain on and off until school run! Bless DS1 who made breakfast!
So took today off.
Will force myself into something tomorrow as I know it will help with residual aches and pains. Probably Killer as really don't thinking will be up for too much jumping around!
Notyummy please be careful with that back
Well done ponks and three steps for working out over weekend I don't even try!
Hopefully will have a more positive update tomorrow!

Happypiglet · 09/07/2013 13:41

Well did Killer this morning- it went OK..I do like it... but must do something more energetic tomorrow so back to RI30 may be level 4.
How is everyone else today?

threestepsforward · 09/07/2013 14:34

HOT happypiglet Grin

Well done you for doing Killer first thing, you must be relieved it's out of the way for the day? Sorry to read you felt so rough yesterday, poor you...hope you are feeling much better today...

I had my day off yesterday so am going to S&S later - will leave it as late as I can, around 6 so it might be a bit cooler.

As much as I'm flopping around in the heat, I am not complaining, oh no! I think my town was officially the hottest place in britain on Sunday Shock

Will hopefully post later with another S&S under my belt! Have a good rest of day Smile

OP posts:
Jacksterbear · 09/07/2013 16:38

OMG Happypiglet your day yesterday sounds horrific! Shock Glad you are better today and have managed a Killer.

Did you S&S today 3steps?

I did an hour of Turbojam this a.m. before work (20 min cardio + 40m strength) so quite pleased with myself.

It's MELTINGLY hot here at work (central London) - just popped out for coffee break and have turned into a lobster in half an hr outside! Not looking fwd to commute home later!

x

Ponks · 09/07/2013 18:37

Oof having done S&S L2 today I think it is time to switch to 10pm workouts when it is cooler! I was pouring with sweat even though it isn't a really cardio - intensive workout. Have to admit I missed out the last circuit as I was flopping (and I hate the triangles) Blush. Think I prefer L1 to L2 overall - seems to flow better.

jackster I am always in awe of people who have the energy to work out before work - it takes me so long to recover & get presentable afterwards (and I am not full of beans in the morning) that I would be late for work!

piglet you poor thing, sounds dreadful. Hope Killr helped a bit. I find feminax Ultra the best thing for cramps. Much better than just ibuprofen.

threestepsforward · 09/07/2013 20:41

Wow so impressive all these early and in-the-heat workouts...

Ponks that last circuit in L2 S&S is horrid - it's amazing how hard those triangles and stuff are!

Jackster just made it through - boy I was hot! Well done you doing a 60 min workout before work... Hope the commute home wasn't too dreadful - do you go by tube. Oh I have fond memories of rush-hour tube journeys on a boiling hot day Grin

Hope everyone is doing well :)

OP posts:
Happypiglet · 10/07/2013 19:14

Well did RI30 L4 today...didn't find it too bad..oh except for burpees!
Much cooler here today - how is it for everyone else?
I used to commute to London awful in the heat...even worse pregnant! No one even gave me a seat when I was 8 months gone!!

threestepsforward · 11/07/2013 10:02

Happypiglet, it's slightly cooler where I am this morning (south coast), but will apparently be warming up again Smile Shame on tube passengers not giving up their seat for you, that's really bad...

I never used to hate burpees but am falling out of love with them in L1 S&S. She starts with them, the very first exercise, and I don't think that's very nice lol Well done you for doing Ripped - barring L1, any level of that DVD is a challenge!

I am loving the last circuit in S&S - the sun salutation and the jenga / capoeira stuff. Not so hard but really nice to do...

Another L1 S&S for me yesterday. I have a filling at the dentist this afternoon so not sure I'll be in a fit state to exercise - but I'll see how I feel. I'm going away this weekend for a double birthday celebration so would prefer to exercise today if I can. (I've made my first ever cake!! Choc fudge and it's a nightmare cos you can't taste it to make sure it's okay - will have to take the risk and hope it's edible Grin)

Have a great day everyone :)

notyummy · 11/07/2013 16:50

Hi all. Well, I haven't been back to Jillian since Sunday as my back has been quite bad - really not sure whether it was the shreds/ripped from last week or getting drunk with friends all weekend and not thinking about my sitting/movements (plus having to drive a lot this week which isnt great...)

I am going to try Ripped tomorrow morning v carefully and see how it goes. I have been doing a mixture of 3 and 5 mile walks, and the crosstrainer, plus callenetics and press-ups so not missing activity al together.

Have the facial yoga on amazon wishlist and may just buy it for myself!

I dont like those triangles at the end of S and S L2 either - they look like they should be so easy....but they are not!

threestepsforward · 11/07/2013 17:48

Oh notyummy - sorry to hear your back is not great. I think slow and steady is the key - perhaps stick with more stretch based exercises for the mo? Btw my chiro says bad standing / sitting posture accounts for alot of back pain - so it could well be that you strained it by sitting awkwardly over the weekend... Fingers crossed it improves soon...

Had my horrid filling this afternoon and then did S&S pretty much as soon as I got home, huzzah! I'm anticipating this weekend will be one big over-indulgence fest so I'm squeezing in the exercise beforehand Grin

Have a good evening everyone :)

Happypiglet · 11/07/2013 20:37

Hi all
L4 Ripped again today...didn't enjoy it quite as much! Partly as my arms really ache!
Three steps well done on the S&S even after a filling. Is it your birthday this weekend if so happy birthday!
Notyummy... Hope all improves soon for you...
Will do another L4 tomorrow morning and then that is me finished until Monday. manic weekend ahead with amongst other things DS1s grade 1 piano exam, DDs 6th birthday party for 17 kids and the local village show at which all three DC are helping on different stalls....and all in 28 degree heat! No time for exercise!

Jacksterbear · 12/07/2013 11:00

Good work everyone.

Happy, good luck to your DS for his exam and hope your DD has a lovely birthday. 3 steps, enjoy your weekend of excess - sounds good! And notyummy keep being careful.

Went for a 2 mile run yesterday - first run in a couple of months as it had been hurting my knee - knee was ok, although it was a very short run and I wasn't going too fast, but still, cautiously optimistic that I might be able to build the running back up again.

Exciting (but scary) news: am facing redundancy at work and have been thinking about what I could do with my life: am thinking about training to become a fitness instructor/personal trainer! Totally mad plan and nothing like anything I have ever done before (always been office + city based). Shock Confused Sad [happy]

threestepsforward · 12/07/2013 12:07

Happypiglet your weekend sounds like exercise enough without JM - have fun!

Wow, Jacksterbear!! I'm really sorry to hear about the redundancy, but might this be a cloud with a silver lining?? I think your plan sounds amazing! And something you'd enjoy doing?

If you did your research and was sure it was feasible, how could it not be a great plan? I can imagine London is the perfect place to be a personal trainer / instructor :)

I can't tell you how thankful and happy I am to do a job that I adore - it is possible! It involved me going back into education, after years in jobs I didn't like, as a 'mature' (Wink) student and paying off a lot of extra debt, but I don't regret it for a minute.

Really best of luck with your decision. It can be so hard to tackle big changes, but sometimes it can be the best thing to happen!

Another beautiful day here, it's endless and I'm loving it!!! (dog is not quite so keen poor boy). Another L1 S&S for me later and then weekend off.

Hope everyone has a fab weekend, catch up with you all next week...
Threesteps x

(Jackster just reading back my post, it reads like I'm implying you didn't / don't like your current job - that wasn't what I meant at all - sorry!!)

OP posts:
Jacksterbear · 12/07/2013 13:13

No worries 3steps I knew what you meant! Smile Am trying to see it as an opportunity job-wise, and as it happens it's good timing too, family-life wise.

Now to plan my exercise for today! L1 S&S for me too a bit later maybe...

Happypiglet · 12/07/2013 14:51

Didn't get round to another session today Blush ..made and iced birthday cake instead to give me more breathing space this weekend.
I suppose I could do something later after the three kids discos at school tonight...but to be honest I don't think that's likely.
Oh well chalk this week up to 'circumstances' and move on- still did three sessions..
Jackster that sounds like an awesome plan...
Have a fun weekend everyone

threestepsforward · 12/07/2013 21:21

Happypiglet, don't worry about it, enjoy the weekend and Jillian will be waiting for you next week!

Jackster you'll make the right decision :)

Today was a weird one - went out after I posted and didn't have lunch at the usual time. Then I got back late afternoon and planned to do my S&S but felt a bit spaced. So I had a microwave meal that was in the fridge, about 4 pm, and then S&S'd with no problems an hour later!

And after that I had a massive dinner so I'm glad I did the exercise lol

I'll do one more L1 next week then upwards to L2.

Have a great weekend all, I'll be back next week :)

OP posts:
threestepsforward · 12/07/2013 21:23

p.s. Happypiglet, I iced my cake for the weekend too today. It looks like a giant giant has sneezed all over it Grin Hope it tastes better than it looks...

OP posts:
Jacksterbear · 13/07/2013 08:57

Is it yr bday 3steps?

Ponks · 14/07/2013 10:07

Got the guilts as have done very little exercise-wise since Tuesday Blush. Had a great riding lesson the other day but that's about it. The coming week will be a bit different as my DH has booked me into a competition on his horse next weekend ... where are the and emoticons?

Jackster ooo all change for you - sounds good that you are taking this positively as a way to change your life - the redundancy bit is bad news but wow if you get to change to a new way of life that is better ... I kind of envy you, I kind of feel stuck in my job and don't want to keep doing the same thing for ever .. but I have no idea what else I could do & not brave enough to leave the security of my monthly pay cheque just yet .. need a rocket up my bum sometimes.

Well done to anyone JM-ing this weekend in the heat!

notyummy · 14/07/2013 22:44

jackster- I have toyed with that too! I have training money from leaving the military that lasts for ten years. I have didn't 1/3 of it on an NLP Practicioner course, but have to spend the rest by next summer or I lose it. I have to spend in on an accredited course that gives the equivalent of an A level or more, so can't just do a few weeks learning basket weaving! I have toyed with various personal trainer courses but would want something that didn't have to include night once a week. I need distance learning, possibly with a residential few days. Good luck to you!

Tried L2 of the shred today. Back is a bit up and down but don't know however of that is down to all the driving I am doing at work at the moment or because I am trying a bit more exercise.

threestepsforward · 14/07/2013 23:57

Jacksterbear, no! I'm hanging on to my 40th year until next month, thankfully!
Luckily the cake was moist and edible, and deemed a success by a baking expert so I basked in the praise Grin (her: "how did you get it so moist?" me: "erm, I baked it?!?")

My next plan is courgette cake...

No exercise for me since Friday, but hoping to get stuck back in tomorrow, 1 L1 S&S and then onwards to L2.

See you later peeps :)

OP posts:
Happypiglet · 15/07/2013 14:39

Did L4 Ripped this morning before the heat kicked in- burpees yuck followed by scissor jumps double yuck... but its ticked off. Will need to do early work outs all week as its only getting hotter here.
Threesteps glad the cake was moist- my DD loved her glitter/ football cake (what to bake/ ice for a tomboy footie mad girl without alienating all her little girl friends!)
Baked some teacher present cup cakes at weekend. Just tried a spare one (in the interests of research you understand) and it is still acceptably moist...
Anyway I am in danger of turning this into a Good Housekeeping thread!
Good luck to all those exercising later- its so hot!!
