Anyone else doing slimming world?

Hi all, I joined slimmig world yesterday as I finally ready and motivated to get this weight off. Anyone else? Is there a support thread for those following slimming world? As I couldn't see one on here. If not anyone interested in helping to support each other here?

Hello SWorlders. Can I just ask a quick question? Well, two, actually.
Is it one extra 'a' and 'b' choice when you're breastfeeding?
And, do you get extra syns?
TIA
Marbles

Thanks blondes

I'm on green plan as I'm a vegetarian. Yesterday i had:

Porridge (HEB) with 2 bananas

Muller light
Apple

A huge plate of pasta, mushrooms & cheese (HEA) followed by another yoghurt & a half a punnet of grapes.

A punnet of cherry tomatoes & half a whole cucumber.
2 Hi Fi light bars

And i was still RAVENOUS!

I tend to get hungry within an hour or so of eating. Like for lunch today I had a big Jacket Potato, half a plate of mixed salad, baked beans, cheese followed by a Activia fat free snack pot & and an apple. And after an hour of eating all of that I was starving & had the shakes.

Have to say boom that I don't think salad really fills up - I find eating veg is better

What did you eat for tea that day? Maybe have some quorn /eggs/ protein

I love snacking on cold boiled eggs - yes I know I'm mad

Well done Blondes! Grin

Boom could you make an enormous pot of 'free' soup that you can just heat up when you get hungry? You can add lentils/beans/chickpeas to make it a bit more substantial.

I tend to agree with Blondes that salad doesn't really fill you up. Could you have jacket potato with it, or pasta with a tomato sauce instead? Even mashed potato made with quark and some veg might keep you going longer than yogurt and an apple. Someone further up the thread mentioned munchpots (?) which might be worth a try?

Don't lose heart, I keep telling myself that this isn't a quick fix, it's finding a new way of eating (and a lifestyle change) and it takes time for your body to get used to the change.

Ohh I love cold boiled eggs too, I'll keep some in the fridge I think! I'll
make some soup too, thanks bean.

My meals seem to be okay, I'll have a jacket potato with salad/pasta for lunch and dinner is usually Spag Bol, Shepards pie, stir fry etc.

It's the inbetween where no matter how much I eat I'm still hungry, and end up shaking so much that I need chocolate to make me feel better!
I'm going to persevere though! You're right bean it's such a big change that I can't expect my body to take to it straight away.

Sshboom - are you drinking lots of water? Sometimes you can feel hungry when actually you are thirsty. Might be worth trying a glass of water before you eat your snack?

3.5 syns isnt that bad is it mindi would have though too pilau rice would have been ok hmm? I had a sunday dinner today - only had a bit of pork then a medium sized yorkshire pud, carrots and brocolli and a small portion of cauli flower cheese and sw roast pots down with fry lite which i am probably putting far to much of on. I am probably all syned out but planning just a poach egg on my HEb of 2 wholemeal slices of bread. Early to bed probs fo me! I cant beleive how i am not always hungry - this is amazing for me but i am very sceptical that come Wednesday weigh morning i will have lost anything - do miracles happen?

Can I join in too? I need to lose loads and am doing it without a group, but lots of friends doing it who are helping with info.

We've just had a chicken and spinach curry and it was gorgeous. My meat hating DD5 ate 6 lumps of chicken and has asked for the leftovers to be her dinner tomorrow Shock

Missing, I am bf too and apart from the extra healthy extras, you are encouraged to take all 15 syns. Can't say I have so far as have never felt that hungry. I'm probably taking 3-8 syns a day, depending on whether it's a weekday or weekend day.

Blondes, I was also gutted to find those pouches of microwaveable rice have syns, even the plain and whole grain varieties. Have bought boil in the bag instead as I am rubbish at cooking rice.

Ooh that's good news, Heavenly. It's things like bread and cereal and porridge and crackers that I'm after. If I can syn them then that's great. Also have gone over on syns a little this weekend and today complete fell off the wagon Blush I've just had a ginormous bowl of muesli but I probably shouldn't have as now feel a bit bloated.

Blondes. I make the carbonara but use 0% yog and also some chopped up cherry tomatoes. It's really good and possibly more creamy.

Report
Blondeshavemorefun · 14/01/2013 19:48

i havnt found any 0 % yog yet, only low fat at 1.5 a 500g pot from coop or 5 from tescos

sounds weird having yog in pasta .................

Report
tigerdriverII · 14/01/2013 19:52

You can get Total0% yog from the co-op or Sainsburys, sometimes there are only big pots though. I eat loads of it on every thing. And normally I loathe yoghurt.

Hello all, -3.5 for me on week one, so really pleased. I've stuck to it religiously, eaten plenty, and used my syns for bits of butter/oil and wine (which feels sustainable). This thread is inspiring me and keeping me going!

I've been doing Green, with protein as one of HE sometimes. Quorn bolognese was good, and the carbonara, which I made with a tub of quark and 2 egg yolks and a bit of the pasta water. Also experimenting with the pretend "quiche". I've been having yeo valley fat free vanilla yogurt when I need a hit of sweet, as it's only 4 syns for 450g. I do think I may be about to turn into a tin of baked beans, though.

Oh dear Vagazzled, could you oversyn a little just for one week to get it back up?

Tinder, thats an excellent loss, well done! Your food saounds good too. I would say though, make sure you do allow yourself a few treats or you might d=find you'll binge in a couple of weeks
