New Year Low Carb Bootcamp

1000 replies

BIWIshYouAMerryChristmas · 29/12/2012 21:30

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas, and that Santa brought you everything that you deserved! Xmas Grin

By now, I'm guessing that many of us will be rather tired of chocolates and stodgy food. Mince pie anyone? Xmas Wink

So. The next low carb Bootcamp will be starting on 7 January. It will run for 10 weeks, which will take us to mid-March. The idea of Bootcamp is that we have an initial strict fortnight, which will see a significant amount of weight loss, followed by a more relaxed 8 weeks.

Overall, if you follow the rules, you can expect to lose anything up to 20lbs in this time period.

So who is in?

If you want to join us, add your name to the list and tell us what your aims/objectives are.

I will start ...

Will c&p myself onto list tomorrow when on computer.

Very happy to continue the spreadsheet if everyone else is happy for me to do so. If so, I will create a new spreadsheet at the end of this week - don't worry if you're not on it now, that is the

WillieWagglingRoundTheXmasTree · 29/12/2012 23:03

Bollocks

That is the old list

In the meantime, do any previous low carbers have the allowed food list? It seems to have accidentally been deleted from the spreadsheet...

ViperInTheManger · 29/12/2012 23:08

I'm back again! I still have a lot to lose despite losing 2stone on the last bootcamp (although I'll have put some back on over Xmas and New Year)

My goal is to be able to buy clothes at "normal" shops, even if it's only M&S, rather than buying plus sizes although I think it may take more than one bootcamp to get me there! I'll commit to aiming for 2 stone in 10 weeks again.

I'll have namechanged by then so:

SageStuffingYourOrifice · 29/12/2012 23:21

Oooh! Me please!

I'm Sage. 34 years old. Have a 17 month old DD. Gained a heap having fertility treatment, taking HRT, steroids etc. Also have an underactive thyroid. Ate cake almost every day of maternity leave! Am 5'6" and weigh 13 stone 7 lbs, possibly more but I need to check when I get home after our holiday. I want to lose at least 2 stone but 20lbs in 10 weeks would be a brilliant start.

Could someone pop me on the list please? I'm posting from my iPhone. Also, can someone direct me to the rules please?

HugAndRoll · 29/12/2012 23:22

I weighed and I'm pretty much 12 stone so need to lose at least 2, pref 2 1/2.

cocolepew · 29/12/2012 23:26

Thank you fadqueen Smile.

Is anyone else on hrt and finding it harder to shift weight?

thenightsky · 29/12/2012 23:29

cocolepew YY to HRT blues. I'm piling it on since starting. And I don't reckon i eat that much more.

gloriafloria · 29/12/2012 23:30

I'm on oestogen only patches after having a hysterectomy including ovary removal. I don't want to totally blame them, but I think they are contributing somewhat.

Am a total convert after enjoying the fantastic support and losing 20lbs on the last Bootcamp and feeling so much healthier and better energy levels, no 4pm slump!! Would like to get down to around 145-147 lbs (I am 5'8") but also just feel better after the Xmas madness.

Sorry- missed link to BC rules.

I don't think I can stop eating fruit : (

I might do weight watchers instead.

Good luck everyone!

thenightsky · 30/12/2012 00:04

fuck... where are these 'rules'? We can't have FRUIT??? Shock

mumat39 · 30/12/2012 00:20

Hi. Can I join?

I'm 44 and have 2 young kids, aged 5 and 3. I lost a stone at the start of this year on diet chef but have put it all back on again. I feel fat, unfit and tired all the time so am looking forward to the energy mentioned up thread.

Bit worried about the no fruit, if I don't have grapefruit in the morning I may never poo again.

Though I suppose I won't be clogging myself up with crap rubbish.

cocolepew · 30/12/2012 00:37

There are free carb counters and diets on google play if anyone is using an Android device.

BIWIshYouAMerryChristmas · 30/12/2012 00:41

Look. The thing about fruit is that it is full of sugar, and sugar is what creates all the problems for us. Sugar = insulin production = laying down of fat.

In the first two weeks of Bootcamp, which are the strictest, you aren't allowed any fruit. In the main, this is to help break the addiction to sweet things. After these two weeks, you can re-introduce fruit, as long it's lower in carbs, so we're talking berries mainly.

As long as you eat plenty of veg and salad, and drink lots of water, you will not have a problem with poo!
