wow 600 cals! biscuits are calling to me now, and had a latte earlier. Am using low calorie sweetener - would love to wean myself off sugar. I think I should try avoiding the cafeteria Cinn.... at least for a while. Because it is free I feel like I should use it, but is such a temptation. Right now I know there are flapjacks up there and is driving me mad! and will work on the luchtime walking as well. Has anyone ever come up with any decent exercises you can do at your desk? My bingo wings are getting worse and worse.

On that 5:2 diet thread on MN, they're all on 500 cals, but that was even more Shock. I don't want to cut out food groups and apparently this is one way you can eat a normal diet the rest of the week and have treats.

I went cold turkey with sugar. I used to have one in my cup of tea, then just one in my first cup in the morning and now none at all. It's not the same, but it's just getting used to the taste I guess. I'm sure my friend said there was exercises you can do at your desk on the internet - I would google it!

In short started last year in feb, lost 20lb by the April, then hurt my back so had to give up the jogging, back slowly got worst until I was unable to go to work :( been off now from work since sept 2012 !!!! One week ago I had my 3rd ! Yes 3rd back op in 12 years (prolasped disks) cannot go
through this again so need to lose weight. Have at least 7 stone to lose although taking that a stone at a time. This recovery should take 6 to 8 weeks then I can return to work yipeeeeeee ! Cannot exercise for at least 4 weeks and then only start with light walking but really need as many of you to kick my great big butt into sticking to my cals x please be my fitness pal x x x x

Well, I stuck to 600 cals. It was easier than I thought, I skipped breakfast, had a small lunch and light dinner....I won't lie, I am hungry right now, but apparently that's right. I am doing it again on Thursday or Friday. I will weigh myself next week and let you know if I've lost, put on(!), or maintained.

I had a very good day yesterday, had small breakfast and lunch as I knew we were going out for dinner for dh's birthday. Was way under calories as I ran aswell and this morning I had put on 700g since Saturday! Don't understand these things sometimes! That will teach me for weighing daily :)

I had such a hungry day yesterday, was really busy and didn't get out for my run until gone 12, and then by the time I got back was ravenous and ate two sandwiches instead of one Blush Kept to my calories, but must do better today. DH has made me a nice salad for my lunch.

Well done, Bear, I am in awe of your willpower! I keep telling myself, if I am hungry, I am probably burning some fat somewhere, but my stomach doesn't always listen!

Morning everyone!

Chops, I bet you are really fit! I'm wonder if that is why I am not as hungry on a fast day, so far, as exercise always makes me hungry and I am not getting enough at the moment.

I expected to be going mad with hunger this morning, but so far I'm alright. I have only done the fast for one day though! I will do it again on Thurs or Fri. I am avoiding fruit at the moment because it messes about with my blood sugar and I have PCOS so don't metabolise it well. I only have 2lbs to go and I will weigh what I did pre-DS2 (6MO), but I needed to lose a stone and a bit even then!

I used to be, bear, but let myself go over the past couple of years. They say muscles have memories though, so we will see! Grin I used to cycle for miles, both road and mountain biking - determined to get back to it.

You are doing fab! Must be hard having to cut out fruit too. Have you tried eating oatcakes? They seem to stem the hunger quite well. I love nairns oatcakes, they do things like sweet pepper, which are really lovely.

I'm also trying porridge for bfast today, as I am getting very bored of special K every day!

guess I had better try some oatcakes- not too bad of a day today- lots of rice cakes to fill the gaps. My appetite is staring to shrink a bit, thank goodness. anyother snack suggestions gratefully recieved.

Hi all many thanks for all adding me to mfp x it really helps looking at yr food diary's to get some new low cal ideas x been good and stuck to cals but find it really hard as I'm bored out of my mind whilst recovering from my back op. Not to sit or stand for more than 15 mins for the rest of this week plus another 2 !!! All I'm doing is laying thinking about food x this will b so much easier for me to stick to once I go back to work and can start walking the dog again. Told all visitors not to bring goodies and finished with the lovely Mr Grey :) any ideas to pass the next 2 weeks and to stop me eating my body weight in choc will b much appreciated x

I've done a roughly 1000 calorie day today but would find 600 very hard. Given my daily calorie allowance is 1700, does 1000 count as fasting do you think?

Welcome newbies. I'll add you on MFP. LisaFrog, that sounds really hard. Can you read? Watch films? Listen to the radio?
I lost another pound, so very happy.
Double - I think 1000 definitely counts as fasting. Well done. I just know it wouldn't work for me because I would get so hungry it would trigger a binge.
Haven't shredded yet ( although I've put it in my diaryGrin) and don't really fancy it tonight, but I WILL do it. Once the DC are in bed, I won't have any excuses.

Wisekneehair x done all of the above x think I've watch every film in the world and back again x been off work waiting for this back op since sept x was in so much pain b4 op all I could do was lay down and fill myself with painkillers x as u can imagine I'm at the end of my tether and bored bored bored x that's when the munches start knocking x

Hi everyone had 3rd weigh in Sunday have lost another 2lbs so have lost 10 lbs in 3 weeks .i can notice my stomach is going down . Feel I'm focused at the moment .good luck to all the newbies.
