Can I join in?

Have lost 6 kilos in six weeks with MFP and want to keep going!

The calorie allowances for exercise seem overly generous though... Can you alter these?

cinnamongreyhound · 20/09/2012 16:13

Sorry smirnie, no idea why that has happened I never have to do it, have you tried settings?

Welcome Sparklingbrook and tethersend! Yes you can adjust the calories when you add the exercise the curser is next to the time, just click next to the calories and you can delete them and type in whatever you like :)

Been out today to hospital and then shops as well as school for the first time this week. Crutches are bloomin hard work and I've been sweating big style but they also hurt my hands Sad

Yes, Cinnamongreyhound, I've looked everywhere. Seems strange it's only been since I logged on the website

Oooh, I'm on a new thread. I was just clicking through to read from my last post and I'm here. Well done cinnamon, hope the foot gets better very soon.

I'm wonderboy74 on MFP for anyone yet to add me :)

Here you all are!

Sorry to hear you're having such a rubbish time cinnamon hope you're not stuck in a pot for too long.

Weigh day for me today and another 2lbs gone, making 24lbs in 8 weeks Grin. I'd really like to have lost 3 stone by Christmas.

Anyone else got a Christmas goal?

This is going to sound daft but I just can't bring myself to get on the scales but have started anyway.

I have trousers that I would like to fit into. Can I just see how that goes rather than get the scales out? I really can't face it.

Still holding steady under 10st 7! My weight tends to fluctuate over the month and is currently at 10st 4. Slow and steady does it but then I am attempting to cut out sugar, eat more protien and do Jillian Micheals 4 days a week.

Sparklingbrook, could you measure your waist instead? There is an option on the app to put waist measurements in.

ChookKeeper

I'm also aiming for 3 stone for christmas (that be half way then). But I've also said to DH that I won't be logging during christmas/new year week as I want to enjoy it and not be thinking about not eating things IYKWIM.

I'm 11lbs down so far. Haven't lost this week though Sad
Hoping for at least another stone by Christmas. I'd go for three but don't want to disappoint myself.

Yes thanks smirnie I think I would feel better doing that. I nearly got the scales out this morning but thought better of it.

nearly 3lb off this week, hooray!!!!!

I would urge everyone to measure themselves. It's too easy to think your body shape isn't changing but seeing the measurements is a real boost.

When I started I knew I was really 'in the zone' to commit to this for the long haul. The first week I not only weighed myself but also had my photo taken front, side and back and took measurements of my neck, bust, waist, hips, each thigh, calf and upper arm.

The plan is to measure at the point of each stone lost. By the time I'd lost the first stone I'd also lost 11 inches including 1 inch from my neck Grin. 4lbs to go until the next measuring session.

I really don't want to get to goal and regret not seeing how I looked at my heaviest.

How important is the fat/carb/protein thing? ie to keep within the limits. I have gone over by 2 in the protein today.

Hi All,

I stuck to my guns and didn't weight until i'd done a full month and i've lost 7lbs so pretty pleased.

one issue i've had is that i keep having dizzy spells and find I have to eat pretty much every 2 hrs, I'm trying to stick to low GI snacks so my day generally looks like:

breakfast: natures plus protein shake (i'm dairy and gluten intolerant and many gluten free cereals are very high sugar and fat so this works for me)

snack: oakcakes or a banana

lunch: tuna or turkey salad sandwich on GF bread with an apple and some unsalted nuts and seeds.

snack: banana or oakcakes depending on what I had earlier!

dinner: could be anything, fish, chicken, GF pasta, rice noodles stirfrys, shepherds pie,

i've also given up my fizzy drink habit and severely limited my haribo habit both have def helped!

That's a great weight loss Exercisejunkie, I would suggest checking your hydration and iron for dizzy spells. I have been lightheaded for a large part of my life but I do have low blood pressure. I went to give blood earlier in the year and was sent away as Hb too low. Have been taken iron supplements since and it does significantly reduce my dizziness :)

I am loving myfitnesspal! Thank you to everyone on this thread and old ones for pointing me in the right direction.

I'm eating out of boredom and depression (no job, alone in a new place) and I've put on two stone in 8 weeks. Today was my first day, I'm full, I've came in under my calories and I've measured my belly and and various other places so I can watch them shrink back down.

Does anyone else have evening hunger? I've had good meals, snacks and water and I still want to pick.

readyforno2 · 22/09/2012 23:58

Nights/evenings are the worst for me. That and a lack of self control Grin
Frozen grapes are very good though. Really sweet and take ages to eat so you don't eat as many

Frozen grapes sound good. I used to use them for teething pain for DS. Low cal tonic water with lime got me through tonight, poured into champers flute and pretended was bubbly.

hurricanewyn · 23/09/2012 07:06

Frozen banana is another good one - it mashes up still when it's frozen & is like a creamy icecream.

wheredidiputit · 23/09/2012 08:48

Yes to evening pickings, mainly through habit and boredom.

So I do sewing either embrioderies or at the moment I'm making one similar to this. Because I've found if my hands are busy then I don't pick.
