The NO EXCUSES, Now or NEVER slimming thread

Youcanringmybell · 30/08/2012 16:08

This is a thread for those who are pig sick of over eating and binging and have decided enough is enough.

There will be no excuses on this thread...no 'oh but I was due my period' or 'oh but it was left over so I finished it' etc

IF you need to have a nice meal as part of a celebration DO IT but no more excuses - have the meal and move on.

This is a thread for the brave.....this is a thread for the serious. Join at your peril.....

Monday mornings are weigh in - so that we cannot binge on the weekends. I am deliberately being hard on myself and if you want to do it to please join. Even if someone wafts wine and banoffee pie under my nose I will not have it - even if the world is going to end I WILL NOT HAVE IT

weigh in Monday morning and post here

Oh and drink some wine and eat some choc while you still can because on Monday you will be in hell Angry

Goon congrats on the new house. It looks lovely much nicer than mine at least from the outside.

Fermez definitely time to tell your head you don't want him in your classroom. He sounds like an interfering knobhead and I would certainly be annoyed by anyone who thought they could undermine me in my own classroom.

Tortoise jogging Shock well done you!! I hate jogging/running but force myself to do it on a Tuesday evening when dd1 is at orchestra and dp is putting dd2 to bed (the one night a week that he does that and even then it's only during term time) and a Wed afternoon when I'm free last lesson so can leave school a bit earlier (and take loads more home for once the kids are in bed :()

I weighed in at 14st 8.5, so that's another 1.5lbs lost making a total of 5.5lbs since we started. I'm ok with that, an average of 1-2lbs per week is fine with me seeing as I'm just making healthier choices with my food rather than doing any sort of official diet. I'm hoping that losing it slowly will help me make this a lifetime habit rather than losing quickly by doing a 'proper diet' and then not keeping it up like I've done many times in the past.

Hi eveYone,so weigh in this morning.... 13st6!that means 6lb lost... I suspect a few of those lbs was water as did it as soon as I got up and think I was a bit dehydrated.

Hope others had good news today too.

Question- if im doing exercise I work to net calories (taking off calories burnt) or just count what I eat? Was aiming for 1200 kcal.... Advice welcome!

Sc x

Goonatic · 24/09/2012 22:01

Well done chickens!!! I just wandered into the kitchen to find something to graze on and decided n a glass of orange squash!
Am removing pics now, I will only be able to afford to eat baked beans and spaghetti hoops from now on as it is at the very very limit of what we can afford but we have so much work to do I will not onlybe eating sod all but working it off super quick!

Tortoise · 24/09/2012 22:11

I hate to think what i looked like jogging! Everything flopping around lol. I could never do it alone, too embarrassed. Making out im messing around chasing DDs makes me feel less embarrassed! Hopefully one day i will be fitter and look better as i jog along with DDs.
I was thinking earlier, if i can lose a stone a month, by jan i will be 12 st! That would be amazing. But Christmas is going to be really tough i think.

TheHumancatapult · 24/09/2012 22:11

The person who says nothing tastes as good as slim is so wrong they obviously not tasted the right foods

Tortoise · 24/09/2012 22:13

Oh, and i put £15 on jackpot joy bingo site and ended up cashing in £80! £65 profit, not bad! Grin

TheHumancatapult · 24/09/2012 22:13

Tortoise I'm aiming for 8lb a month average 2lb a week hoping more doable .

Xmas be ok here as we don't do traditional just me and the kids pizza for little 2 and curry bigger two as they prefer playing with presents to eating then arghhhh get stuck into the chocolate sigh not for me

TheHumancatapult · 24/09/2012 22:14

I'm hoping 24lb by Jan but will see

Tortoise · 24/09/2012 22:59

2lb a week is good. I doubt will make a stone a month, just going on the last 3 weeks results for now. I will be happy with any loss Smile

cookieowner · 24/09/2012 23:26

im happy to be losing anything each week , although does make me feel good when its more than 1lb!
Had a glass of wine tonight for first time in ages but still havent used all calories for today and wont now as bedtime soon , so a good day today!

TheHumancatapult · 25/09/2012 04:33

Who else is struggling with excersise I'm find it harder and harder most days to drag self out of bed before kids wake for school

But is mainly the only chance I get to do it , wondering just how much affects the weight loss

TheHumancatapult · 25/09/2012 05:28

Bleah its done for yet another day . Someone tell me it be worth it please

As for advoiding late night nibbles I tend to take myself up to bed earlier with my kindle as once in bed it's to much effort to get out of it . Though for you with DH or Dp they may not be so keen on you deserting them every night

tiggy114 · 25/09/2012 08:21

I'm not doing any excercise at the moment apart from walking on school runs etc. Started a 10 week distance learning course so no free time. But, i'm still eating a low cal diet and it seems to be working. My son likes to play just dance on the wii. Am thinking of joining in more as you can work up a sweatSmile i did a walking leader course once and it said over weight people should not jog! Terrible for yoyr joints. They should do brisk walking instead to raise the heart beat and get them a little out of breath.

TheHumancatapult · 25/09/2012 08:32

Yeah jogging will never happen here for lots of reasons Smile

But I'm doing a form of yoga that's been adapted for me but do find motivation wavers some days

FermezLaBouche · 25/09/2012 08:39

Morning everyone!
Like Tiggy and Human I'm certainly not doing enough exercise. I leave the house at 645 and get back anywhere between 5 and 6 typically. I need to make the effort! Anyway, hoping for a good week weight wise - it's the week before payday and I have not much at all in the freezer and certainly no alcohol.

Wrt the difficult governor, the head has found a good art display for him to work on, which keeps him out of the classroom! Yesterday he stood in the corridor whooping and high five-ing my already high as kites class on the way into the classroom!

Missing posting regularly on here, hope you're all doing well. Internet on Friday!!

FermezLaBouche · 25/09/2012 08:41

By the way did anone else have to go through awful floods to get to work today? It was horrible, dreading getting home!

FermezLaBouche · 25/09/2012 08:42

Oh YES!! I got the 900th post!
