The NO EXCUSES, Now or NEVER slimming thread

Youcanringmybell · 30/08/2012 16:08

This is a thread for those who are pig sick of over eating and binging and have decided enough is enough.

There will be no excuses on this thread...no 'oh but I was due my period' or 'oh but it was left over so I finished it' etc

IF you need to have a nice meal as part of a celebration DO IT but no more excuses - have the meal and move on.

This is a thread for the brave.....this is a thread for the serious. Join at your peril.....

Monday mornings are weigh in - so that we cannot binge on the weekends. I am deliberately being hard on myself and if you want to do it to please join. Even if someone wafts wine and banoffee pie under my nose I will not have it - even if the world is going to end I WILL NOT HAVE IT

weigh in Monday morning and post here

Oh and drink some wine and eat some choc while you still can because on Monday you will be in hell Angry

I don't think i could do a treat day either but i may treat myself after a certain loss amount. I'm thinking a stone and a half maybe.
Had cottage pie and runner beans for dinner. Very yummy! I had more mince than mash and a pile of veg. I probably had a bigger portion than i should have had though. I find portion size really difficult.

rowingboat · 23/09/2012 19:18

Hi all,
Just checking in. Fermez that sounds very exciting, seeing each other every other weekend - romantic!
I'm doing 1500 cals a day, not in a hurry to lose weight so hoping for 1 lb per week. So a stone in 3 months!
I do a bit of exercise bike at nights so need a bit of energy.
My calorie count told me off today for too much cholesterol - had 2 eggs and 4 tiny slices of chorizo in an omelette, for goodness sake!
Does MFP tell you off?

FedUpOfRain · 23/09/2012 19:22

Feeling horribly gulity after not being very good this weekend, quite a lot of wine and crisps!! I need a kick up the bum and I think the weigh in tomorrow might just do that. I don't want to worry around christmas about what I'm eating (I bloomin love mince pies) I therefore MUST be good until then. I would be very happy if I lost a dress size or 2 by then, if thats possible!?

FermezLaBouche · 23/09/2012 19:41

Thanks rowing - that is what i would like to happen, but will discuss it next time hes up if im brave enough. Absolutely not willing to do the whole friends with benefits thing. Done that for years and finally realised im.worth more.
Chrorizo in omelette is LOVELY!!! Not looking forward to weigh in tomorrow. At all.

rowingboat · 23/09/2012 20:11

That's funny Fermez - the phone! I know exactly what you mean! Phone rage! Mine tries to predictive me all the time and changes proper words to stupid words after I have typed them.

FermezLaBouche · 23/09/2012 20:18

Mine is just STUPID nd slow and i hate it. If i got proper internet installed i cud use ipad for everything.
Have sent a begging freecycle today hoping for a cross trainer.long shot but it would be so great
phone rage.returning, night all!

Youcanringmybell · 23/09/2012 20:20

I am terribly nervous of the great weigh in...I know that unless I have lost a STONE i am going to be upset Grin

i have been seriously longing and craving today for some cake/ chocolate. I mean almost going out of my mind! I genuinely feel like a bloody addict..even now I am fighting every minute the impulse to go and find something sweet but I already had 1200 cals today.

Of FUCKING HELL this bloody awful to the nth degree...

OP posts:
Youcanringmybell · 23/09/2012 20:29

In fact I am going to bed. I had enough of this. I am not giving up though...just letting the hellish thought of living like this wash over me....

Goodnight all Flowers

youcan This will get better. Stay strong and enjoy the results over the coming weeks and months.

Dc and dbro had a huge homemade choc chip cookie fresh out of the oven with dollop of ice cream on top for a treat pud. I had nothing Smile

TheHumancatapult · 23/09/2012 21:30

xxxresixxx · 23/09/2012 22:27

Hi all. Just updating. Having a rough day today. Thought I was doing fab post OP, them overnight I got my DS cold- not a good mix when recovering from a tonsillectomy. On lots of pain killers and eating it difficult so the one positive may be a weight loss... Looking like DH will have to take the day off tomorrow to look after DS tho as I'm not capable at the mo :-\

cantmakecarrotcake · 23/09/2012 22:33

Hang in there, peeps, it sounds like today has been a tough one.

I'm pretty sure I've gone off the rails today. Had a roast at my parents' today and had cheesecake for pud. Then before we drove home (in the pouring rain with DD screaming the whole way) I had a Cadbury chocolate roll (a mini one before you flame me) and a shortbread biscuit. But thank god I did or I'd have lost it driving home. There are times I can cope with being hungry but that wasn't one of them!

Not sure what to expect at tomorrow's weigh-in. Hoping for 1lb but don't expect it'll be any more than that.

What I do know is that I'm wearing a pair of skinny jeans that I'd given up wearing a few weeks ago. They're a Top Shop size 16 (albeit 14 in other shops I reckon) so I was pretty pissed off they didn't fit. Getting het up over numbers is stupid i know, but 16 is my personal threshold and one I don't want to see too much of in my wardrobe.

I hope I don't offend anyone hoping to get down to a 16. We're all have our own personal goals on here and I think the journey is going to be difficult regardless of the current weight or target.

Good luck tomorrow everyone!

Tortoise · 23/09/2012 22:37

Resi Hope the cold passes quickly and you are on the mend soon.
I've just started sneezing so ive probably got DD2s cold coming too!
I'm a night owl so normally up until around midnight! Then don't want to get up in the mornings.

TheHumancatapult · 24/09/2012 03:26

Resi hope feeling better

Youcanringmybell · 24/09/2012 07:23

Morning ladies ..Well done Tiggy and Fedup!! You are mini me's already!
I have lost 4.5 lbs so I am pleased. I have lost 6lbs since we started the thread so doing ok even though I had a full week off.

Looking forward to more weigh-ins. Remember those that have stayed the same but have had a few treats this week have done very well because you are learning MODERATION

OP posts:
TheHumancatapult · 24/09/2012 07:27

I lost 6lbs Grin

But that's been with double work outs every day [knackered] but means I'm back on track for my average of 8lb a month after weekend of and eating what I liked Blush

So Wont push it as hard this week as last week to much really . ANd only need to loose another 2lb this month

Youcanringmybell · 24/09/2012 07:27

Human weigh as soon as you like!!!! Wow - you are up early!!!

OP posts:
TheHumancatapult · 24/09/2012 07:52

Yeah could not sleep but I'm a morning person and try to workout before the kids get up and then breakfast and coffee in peace

cantmakecarrotcake · 24/09/2012 07:52

Morning all!

It appears my 1lb prediction was somewhat conservative.

I LOST 3lb!!! That brings me to 11st 7lb which was my post-baby weight (goal number 1 - TICK!)

Goal number 2 is 10 st 9 which was pre-baby.

Well done to all the weigh-ins so far. IT'S WORKING! The hard work is worth it.

Tortoise · 24/09/2012 08:18

Morning all.
I'm very very happy this morning.
I'm under 16 stone! 15st 13. Was 16.3 so is that 5lbs off?
I'm so thrilled that it's working. Another 3lbs and that will be my first stone lost! That's my target for Monday

Lots of other fab losses today, well done all.

JohnnyDeppsfuturewife · 24/09/2012 08:23

Congratulations tiggy, fedup, you can, human

In six days I have lost 3 lb so down to 13st 6. My aim really was to change my bad habits and so I have done really well. Youcan you're right, I am learning moderation.

Despite that i am feeling a bit low. It has been such hard work and I have to do it again? I know I'll feel better in a few weeks when I start to look thinner but for now I just feel like eating a massive pork pie (and I don't even like them.)
