The NO EXCUSES, Now or NEVER slimming thread

Youcanringmybell · 30/08/2012 16:08

This is a thread for those who are pig sick of over eating and binging and have decided enough is enough.

There will be no excuses on this thread...no 'oh but I was due my period' or 'oh but it was left over so I finished it' etc

IF you need to have a nice meal as part of a celebration DO IT but no more excuses - have the meal and move on.

This is a thread for the brave.....this is a thread for the serious. Join at your peril.....

Monday mornings are weigh in - so that we cannot binge on the weekends. I am deliberately being hard on myself and if you want to do it to please join. Even if someone wafts wine and banoffee pie under my nose I will not have it - even if the world is going to end I WILL NOT HAVE IT

weigh in Monday morning and post here

Oh and drink some wine and eat some choc while you still can because on Monday you will be in hell Angry

Hello all Smile.
Had a good day today. Took dds out and spent too much money lol. They had McDonalds, I sat and watched them eat it then went to boots and bought a sweet chilli chicken wrap from their low fat range Smile.
Chicken and salad for dinner with a little grated cheese on top.
Half a can of rice pud for pud.
Oh and a naughty bottle of bud! Blush

Goonatic · 22/09/2012 21:26

TheHumancatapult · 22/09/2012 21:27

Youcan depending where you are in Cambridgeshire may not be far I'm about 30 mins by train right into Cambridge

Goonatic · 22/09/2012 21:29

Ooooooh you are close too!! How exciting!!

rowingboat · 22/09/2012 22:59

I will have a look at MFP. Do you all put your details on there for the others on this thread?
If I hadn't had the crisps I would have been ok,silly me. I hardly ever drink so save calories for crisps and chocs. Grin

Youcanringmybell · 23/09/2012 08:48

I use MFP - no we don't share the info for everyone on the thread. I wouldn't give out all personal details just in case. I use it as a calorie counter. I try and stay at around 1000 cals and 25g of fat each day. It is very handy to see it all written down.

Morning all
Excited for my FIRST proper dedicated weigh in. So I lost 3lbs week one, put on 2 pounds due to husband's last week and now I HOPE HOPE that I have made some head way this week. I would like to lose a little more that 3 but hey ho I WILL NOT QUIT.

HAVE A GOOD DAY LADIES Thanks

Hello all,
Sorry for the absence, I'm on crappy dongle Internet and my allowance has runout for this month. So I'm in wether spoons among the 9am John smiths drinkers with a coffee, pinching their Internet.

The man is someone I met through a friend about 2 months before I moved. We slept together about 3 weeks before I left and we nev took it anywhere as I was obviously going.

All week he's been up on a training course 20miles away and I asked him to get the train and come visit, which he did. We had a lovely, lovely night and really enjoyed seeing each other. Yes, we did, ahem, you know! Sorry, early morning! Whoever said dieting now has a motivation, as in looking and feeling great, you're so right. But also I know he likes the way I look anyway, which feels fantastic. He's coming back in a couple of weeks and if it goes equally well I want to see what he wants. I think a relationship where you spend 2 weekends/month together is totally workable, ESP when you both work long hours. Anyway, we shall see.

Diet going...oddly. I have been on the scales far too much and the fluctuation is insane. But I can FEEL significant differences and notice them in the mirror too...

Scary reading about all the possible pregnancies here! Also good to see new members join, hope they stick around. I think this is a FAB thread which is essentially based around self honesty. We KNOW the bad things we do and how they stop us reaching our goals but we ARE GETtING there!

Right, rant over. Get paid on Friday so will be ale to top p Internet. Will try and log in tomorrow for weigh in. Have a great Sunday everyone!

Youcanringmybell · 23/09/2012 10:25

fermez - How brilliant! A love tryst to add to the thread...I bet you will get lots of extra work outs from now on...You have the motivation now!!

I am not pregnant I feel fine now but am still awaiting my period Hmm
Where can it have gone? i am putting it down to stress with the husband, children and being pretty skint this month.

How you have resisted a wetherspoons brekkie is beyond me Confused

FermezLaBouche · 23/09/2012 11:03

Hiya youcan - bk home now but reLised my comment about the log distance thig was poss a bit crass. Hope you are ok, you sound very with it and capable but the cinema incident sounded extremely trying.
Really wanted a breakfast wrap but have 13 quid to last till fri and its all goig on petrol. Plus have a chicken to cook for lunch! Sorry for awful typing, am on shitty phine

Tortoise · 23/09/2012 11:06

fermez All sounds fab Smile. Best sort of exercise too! Grin

I've only just got out of bed. Live a lazy Sunday.
Can't go out until my jeans are dry. Only have one pair that fit. Not going to buy anymore until lost more weight. I've got brand new size 14 jeans that I will be wearing one day.

FermezLaBouche · 23/09/2012 11:22

God i know what you mean tortoise. I have a nice john rocha pair that i live in, but before i moved.i chucked about 8 pairs of size 16 that made me sad. I know aize 16 is a hellish thought for most ppl but for me its a good target from 20. :-( i also want a nice pair of jet black, not faded black jeans for school - new school relaxed about denim. Havent bought new.clothes for ages. John rocha.and evans seem to be.only.people that do bigger sizes that i can find, quite expensive but nice.

Tortoise · 23/09/2012 11:40

Mine are size 20 too. Next boyfriend jeans cos my thighs are so huge I need baggy jeans. I've got a black denim type skirt size 16 that I'd love to get the chance to wear with leggings and boots like I see thinner people wearing!

tiggy114 · 23/09/2012 12:17

Feeling a bit fed up. I knew deep down but was blanking out adding things on mfp like soya milk that goes on my cereal and drinks like tea and coffee. I did it properly today and realused that these things add up to quite a few extra caliries. This may be why i'm not losing much weight Sad. Feeling a bit demoralised Sad

FermezLaBouche · 23/09/2012 13:03

Oh tiggy i know what you mean. It is so demoralizing to make such an effort only to have one.bad day totally fuck it.up. :-( just wish food wasnt my all-consuming thougt every day.

TheHumancatapult · 23/09/2012 13:31

I admit I think about food dream about and love the dam stuff . But the fear of seat belt extension next year is bigger . Ideally like be goal weight or under because I'll be back complaining about eaten to much

Don't give up I'm now size 18 which truth are bit tight ( from lot bigger than that ) and while that would make most people cringe I'm pleased size 16 is my next goal.

Hold your head up high what ever you are because you are doing something about it

TheHumancatapult · 23/09/2012 13:33

Tiggy but looking at it now you know where your having problems you can do something about it . Why mfp is good It really makes you look at your diet and portions

Tortoise · 23/09/2012 13:36

I just had to ask Dd2 to sit away from me Sad she's eating my favourite prawn cocktail crisps and they smell so damn good!

Not much for lunch. Pot of jelly and can of peach slices. Not very hungry.

I seem to have gone the opposite way and don't often think about food anymore.

Youcanringmybell · 23/09/2012 14:29

Yeah I know ladies..........this has been the hardest day i have had yet...All indoors, snuggled up and bloomin starving. I haven't given in yet but it is awful.
Food is on my brain 24/7
I am having lunch at 11.45 and trying to make until 5pm before I make dinner but so hungry today...

BUT WE KNEW IT WOULD BE LIKE THIS. This is the point we would give up - no question. This is where we begin to get down, feel low and think why bother?

IF WE WENT AND RAIDED THE CUPBOARD NOW WE WOULD FEEL AWFUL
We would depair of ourselves.

Hang in there ladies...perhaps we could organise a group TREAT day once a month?? a day where we choose a couple of indulgent treats where we feel like we can recover from? Perhaps the last Saturday of every month or something??

OP posts:
FermezLaBouche · 23/09/2012 15:15

Hiya youcan, im feeling like it too. My house is falling apart and nobody is doing what they should be, all i want is to sit here with a big block of brie and stilton and a tiger loaf. BUT NO!!!!
Was going to pm you earlier bur couldnt work out how. Does your profile not accept pms?

Youcanringmybell · 23/09/2012 15:17

Yes it does fermez...look across from my screen name on this post and it says 'message poster' Smile

Do you like the idea of a treat day?? Or am I naughty??

OP posts:
FermezLaBouche · 23/09/2012 15:35

Nah its not there - must be cos im on crap phone. If its ok with you id like to.drop you a pm tomorrow from ipad at work.

I dont think i could do.treat day, i.think in.the long.run we need to be able to eat something 'bad' eg when eTating out and for it not to have catastrophic effects as we are so.good the rest of the time. Ohbfucking hell, have fun decipherig that - stupid phone!!!! I need to get proper internet at home!

TheHumancatapult · 23/09/2012 15:50

I'm another that can't do treat day but that's just me because I could not stop at just two biscuits as I eat whole packet and then think deck it diet spoilt now and raid the fridge and since 2 of mine dud to medical conditions are on high fat /calorie diets that be fatal as we have lot of stuff in
