The NO EXCUSES, Now or NEVER slimming thread

Youcanringmybell · 30/08/2012 16:08

This is a thread for those who are pig sick of over eating and binging and have decided enough is enough.

There will be no excuses on this thread...no 'oh but I was due my period' or 'oh but it was left over so I finished it' etc

IF you need to have a nice meal as part of a celebration DO IT but no more excuses - have the meal and move on.

This is a thread for the brave.....this is a thread for the serious. Join at your peril.....

Monday mornings are weigh in - so that we cannot binge on the weekends. I am deliberately being hard on myself and if you want to do it to please join. Even if someone wafts wine and banoffee pie under my nose I will not have it - even if the world is going to end I WILL NOT HAVE IT

weigh in Monday morning and post here

Oh and drink some wine and eat some choc while you still can because on Monday you will be in hell Angry

carrot - good girl. No biscuits. Even if you ate them you would just want more and we cannot go on down that road.......

KFC looks like the mankiest oldest chickens hacked up, doused in batter and slung into age old fat to boil........ergh

You're so right about the biscuits. If I give in that early in the day, it's bye bye to any virtuous plans and hello repeated sugar hits.

Salad was yum - possibly not that virtuous as it was served with crispy bacon and garlic bread, but it could have been so much worse!

Youcanringmybell · 06/09/2012 14:17

Not bad for a lunch out that's for sure. Keep it up !

I know, kfc is bad for me.Sad

I can't eat milky cereal for breakfast. Or any time of day really. Milk makes me feel really nauseous. Eggs I just don't like lol. Breakfast really is the hardest meal of the day for me. I can't not eat anything. I wake up hungry.

For me, the fact that I haven't had a bag of crisps or a bar of chocolate, is a miracle for me and a positive start.

Youcanringmybell · 06/09/2012 14:53

totoise - please don't feel like I am picking on you...You are doing fantastic with cutting out the chocolate and crisps. Breakfast it tricky.

What about lean bacon and toast or tinned tomatoes and toast? DO have much time in the mornings?

I bought some special k red berry cereal bars today in co-op. Had one on way home as only had a jam sandwich for lunch and it was lovely. 90 calories per bar but they are tiny!

Tea will be cooked sliced chicken with salad.

FuckityFuckFuck · 06/09/2012 18:11

Bad Buggy, you-know-who is going to be angry :/

I have had an alright day, was doing fine until lunch and then I finished off DS's sandwiches, bloody cheese :( I did not give in to him trying to feed me M&M's though :)

Just making stuffed marrow for dinner and then more Zumba tonight. I will be better tomorrow!

buggyRunner · 06/09/2012 18:14

I swear I was sabotaged by my colleagues- all their "you don't need to diet" comments and "you deserve it with all the excersize" wore me down!

Tortoise · 06/09/2012 18:48

Ooh buggy go to the naughty step! Grin
(Glad I'm not the only one to get told off lol!)
Taken dogs for another 2+ mile walk. (must get an app on my phone to measure distance!) So a good 6 miles walked again.
Had a pot of ready made jelly when I got back.

FermezLaBouche · 06/09/2012 19:24

Another one here feeling a bit down. Breakfast and lunch ok, no snacking either. Then did my daily shop after work and saw a great big pork loin massively reduced.
Bought it and lopped it up into 8 thin steaks and frozen most of them. Had one for my tea with boiled potatoes and sweetcorn. Broke my alcohol duck though. Am having a nice gin and tonic. :( Feel down because my body is doing the whole "ooh alcohol - EAT!". I've had a lovely tea and I'm NOT HUNGRY but my body is telling me to stuff my face. I wont, I have absolutely no snackfood in the house, but it's shit that I work like that. Cross I couldn't go one more day of my new spartan regime.

HOWEVER! This diet is like no others. One setback does not mean all is lost. I will not fuck this up at the weekend. I will go for a nice walk instead. NO SNACKING - NO STILTON!

TCforTopCat · 06/09/2012 19:33

Haven't posted since I weighed in, but I am re-reading the thread to keep me on the straight and narrow.
Eating raspberries or grapes after my dinner for something sweet is helping with evening snacking.
Oddly, although a bit nervous am looking forward to Monday for the weigh-in. Just have the hurdle of a BBQ at Mil's to get through.
She is just like Mrs Doyle from Father Ted Grin

Hi all! Wondering if I could join? I'm a newbie to this site and am gutted I didn't find it earlier! I'm mummy to a DA aged 19 months and post pregnancy lost 3 1/2 stones on Ww. Unfortunately DA had health issues for a few months and the stress combined with regular hospital stays resulted on me falling off the wagon big style.... I'm now panicking somewhat a I'm bridesmaid for my sister at the beginning of Dec and I was measured for the dress at my slimmest... I'm currently 11St 4 and signing up (if I'm welcome)

xxxresixxx · 06/09/2012 20:59

DA not DA- stupid auto correct!

FedUpOfRain · 06/09/2012 21:01

I think I may have gone at it too hard for my first day, my fitness pal says I haven't had enough calories!! Does anyone know how accurate it is? I need to find a happy middle. Long day at work tomorrow so expecting it to be more difficult Sad

Youcanringmybell · 06/09/2012 21:07

Chin Up everyone. We KNEW this was going to be hard. But I think this is one of the best all of us have ever had to a diet.

I know how you feel...we may even get a bit depressed over the next few days. But you are all doing very well. Certainly the exercise seems to be huge in some cases.

Welcome Resi - you know the rules. No EXCUSES - FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION.
We gonna plough through this and roll with punches.

EVERYONE- SQUARE YOU SHOULDERS, WALK TALL AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR WHAT YOU ARE EATING.

lots of lovexxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Welcome, resi, do join us. I'm sorry your DC was unwell, I hope he/she's ok now. Stress an awful trigger for overeating, but recognising where you're at is step 1, so well done. Join us and weigh in on a Monday. Do you have a target weight?

Fedup I don't know how accurate it is but I think to sustain a constant weight loss you should aim for 1200 to 1500 cal a day? Any more and after a while your body goes into starvation mode and holds on to the fat stores (by slowing your metabolism? - I may have made that last bit up...)

FedUpOfRain · 06/09/2012 21:35

Thanks cantmakecarrotcake I certainly do not want to hold onto the fat...!

LetLoveRule · 06/09/2012 21:40

Evening all. Hope everyone is ok and hello newcomers. I must say that popping onto this thread really is helping me keep focus. I have an appointment at the gym tomorrow to get a programme! Eek! Looking forward to Monday weigh in - I will NOT stuff it all up over the weekend. (but very much looking forward to vino tomorrow night!). Smile

xxxresixxx · 06/09/2012 21:47

Hi cantmakecarrotcake. DA health is am ongoing saga. He suffers from febrile convulsions and a very unhelpful out of hours doctor commented that he was the most sensitive child to temperature change he had ever seen. That said, after 4 months of hell we have had 3 months fit and hospital free. So... NOW is the time to get my finger out so I don't look like a heifer next to all the other size 8/10 young child free bridesmaids after this last glass of wine..

xxxresixxx · 06/09/2012 21:49

Goal weight 10St 7 so 11lb to lose...

Tortoise · 06/09/2012 22:11

Really struggling tonight. I'm at the point where i want to eat and eat and eat.
Normally i would cave in and just go find some food. Tonight i am holding strong and its thanks to you all. I don't want to let myself down. I want to do this. But its sooo hard tonight.

Im trying to take my mind off it by working (self employed) but can't concentrate. Bed soon i think. Wish i didn't sleep down stairs with the kitchen a few steps away! I WILL NOT EAT UNTIL MORNING! (Also want to prove to boyf that i can do it!)

Totallycluelessmum · 06/09/2012 22:19

I am a secret lurker on this thread! I have had a rubbish evening snacking on lll i saw and some vino ( the shame!) so I want to say WELL DONE tortoise for staying strong:) Grin
I will be better and stronger tomorrow !!!

Goonatic · 06/09/2012 22:40

tortoise can you try tinned fruit for break, minus all the syrup, get it in juice. I hate milky stuff too in the morning and fruit in tins and or yoghurt keeps me full till about ten when I eat raisins, or whatever the fruit snack is at school
Ok fuckity I am with you now, watch this space.........
ferm am also on the booze but somehow am not craving, had rice for tea again which is really filling... Sniff something, I sniffed the cheddar tin again today and it really stopped me from feeling hungry. Weird but true.
