The NO EXCUSES, Now or NEVER slimming thread

Youcanringmybell · 30/08/2012 16:08

This is a thread for those who are pig sick of over eating and binging and have decided enough is enough.

There will be no excuses on this thread...no 'oh but I was due my period' or 'oh but it was left over so I finished it' etc

IF you need to have a nice meal as part of a celebration DO IT but no more excuses - have the meal and move on.

This is a thread for the brave.....this is a thread for the serious. Join at your peril.....

Monday mornings are weigh in - so that we cannot binge on the weekends. I am deliberately being hard on myself and if you want to do it to please join. Even if someone wafts wine and banoffee pie under my nose I will not have it - even if the world is going to end I WILL NOT HAVE IT

weigh in Monday morning and post here

Oh and drink some wine and eat some choc while you still can because on Monday you will be in hell Angry

Youcan Outfits sound fine to me but I'm a non dress/skirt person so wouldn't really have a clue lol.

Not had a good day at all. This is why I always quit because I'm so bloody shit at it.Sad I don't know what to do to sort my head out.

Oh doctors went ok. Just have to go back to using my brown inhalor twice a day for 6 wks (asthmatic).

Tschiffely · 05/09/2012 19:39

tortoise sorry to hear you are having a bad day, trying to lose weight sucks eh?!

Hope you don't mind but thought I may throw an idea your way. You say you walk the school run, how about getting a pedometer and try to do x amount more steps on a daily basis.

I have some SW type diet sheets I could email you, pm me if you are interested.

LetLoveRule · 05/09/2012 20:07

tortoise you can do it! This is just one day out of many to come. When you're not feeling good it is hard to starve yourself too. Don't be too hard on yourself.

I have added motivation of a SCHOOL REUNION in 6 weeks!! Oh my god I just have to think about it and I want to either stuff my face and run away or eat nothing til then.

LetLoveRule · 05/09/2012 20:09

Well done buggy and mavis I'm glad you had fun at the Paralympics.

Goonatic · 05/09/2012 20:12

Hello gang, have nchanged but my mantra is still NO TO CHEESE.
I reckon we need a theme tune, how about Carly Rae Jepson and Owl City! Is called Good Time and I have been humming it all day! I have tried to link it on YouTube but am leperous so haven't managed it.
Another tip for today from me: I went into the staff room tom(yet again) be faced with sweets, crisps, cheddars etc. so I opened the cheddars, took two massive sniffs and then put the lid back n and went and ate some dates!!!!
Tea was what I could find in my dads garden; beet root, tomatoes, onions, garlic, rosemary with chickpeas, rice and a bit of old pesto I found lurking n the fridge.
I keep checking n the scales which is a bit silly as nothing has changed yet!!!

Who likes the song!?

cantmakecarrotcake · 05/09/2012 20:20

Funny you mention a song. Ever since I've been posting on this thread I've been singing 'you can ring my bell' by Anita Ward after the OP Grin

FuckityFuckFuck · 05/09/2012 20:27

Evening,

Tortoise You're not shit at it, you are not feeling well which makes it so much harder but you can do it. If one day, tomorrow will be better. You can do it, we are all with you :)

I've been alright today, spent a lot of time driving which helped. Also I'm not working today so I've been able to eat my dinner at a normal time (and I actually left some of it Shock). I'm going to start a 10 day fat burning programme with Zumba tonight so will be sweaty, sweary and sleepy in about an hour :o

LetLoveRule School reunion?! That is definitely motivation!

Goonatic Thumbs down for the song from me but then my taste is sooo far away from that it's practically approaching it from the other side :o I am willing to learn to love it though if I am massively outnumbered :o

FuckityFuckFuck · 05/09/2012 20:27

Pah

it's not if

Just wrote out a long reply with individual comments for it to vanish! [Angry]!
Will do a group one instead now lol.

Thanks all. I am more determined to do it now. After my rant, I got off my fat arse and took dogs for a walk. Approx 2 miles so I have walked at least 6 miles today.

I need to get my poor dogs out more often so going to start by aiming at 1 walk a day (yes I know they should get more I got lazy and started letting them out in the garden instead).
Got a feeling my period may be due soon. I'm feeling a tad grouchy!

Youcanringmybell · 05/09/2012 21:07

tortoise

Don't give up! Keep fighting. You may have lost the battle but not this bloody war. You can do it - take each day hour by hour...try that.

You all have had a fab start - but quite frankly we must know that this is the tip of the ice

buggyRunner · 05/09/2012 21:30

thanks all but it's easy on the days I do sport it squashes my appetite- tomorrow will be hard.

options hot choc really hits the spot when u need a sugar boost (though i literally drooled at great british bake off!)

Goonatic · 05/09/2012 21:46

Six miles is loads ! Good god I was drooling too buggy it was too much!
I was pleasantly surprised that merely sniffing something very fattening (cheddars) had almost, almost the same effect as eating.
Right fuck am on the case trying to think of polar opposite to cheesy pop

ImCoveredInBeeeees · 05/09/2012 21:46

Hello all. Had another good exercise this morning, and did 45 mins cross training. Food intake was fine too. I'm going to go to bed now before I eat anything else!!

Just before I go, I want to tell you about something that made me realise I was getting fat. I saw a picture of myself taken with a group of other women and my head looks small in comparison to my body! Anyone know what I mean?!

FuckityFuckFuck · 05/09/2012 22:16

Zumba done, now off for a bath with an Options hot choc and to watch the Bake Off. The drooling won't matter if I'm in the bath right?

Maybe something in the middle of the 2 Goonatic? :o
Goldidi · 05/09/2012 23:50

Hi all. Not a great day for me. I forgot to take my lunch to school and had to get something from the canteen Angry They don't really do healthy in our canteen (they pay lip service to it but it's all pretty high calorie as even the 'healthy' food is covered in mayo, salad cream or cheese).

I did go to the gym on my way home and did my first c25k 'run' I did a lot more walking than running but I was very much out of breath the whole time, and my heart rate monitor said I was at the top end of where I should be working.

Dinner was a nice Moroccan Tagine which was very low fat and filling.

Baffledandbewildered · 06/09/2012 00:20

Yes I need to join. Nearly died in January and due to steroids ect I now look like I've eaten an entire supermarket ! I love chocolate :( and have never had to diet before. I have no will power but an ever expanding tummy I will do this help me please ;)

FermezLaBouche · 06/09/2012 06:21

I'mCoveredIn I have many such photos. They're awful - everyone else looks in proportion and I look like a grinning pea on a pumpkin. A head on top of a vast mountain of body. Most dismaying.

I don't know if I dare say it, but looking sideways naked in the mirror this morning, (never wise) there might be the very tiniest of differences. Obvioiusly I haven't lost a size or anything yet.... but I think what was missing was that horrible bloat I used to wake up with - you know - the result of going to bed on a bottle of red wine, a load of fatty foods and snacks.

Thought for the day: What is spurring everyone on? The thing we think of when we feel tempted to give up? Mine is going home to visit friends and family at Christmas and them noticing a difference. And being able to wear nice clothes. And being able to shop in High St shops without having to slink off to the plus size shops, or glance around furtively before darting into Evans....

Have a good day, everyone.

Youcanringmybell · 06/09/2012 07:07

Morning all....today should be a day where we feel we may be achieving some results. We may feel less bloated, trousers will do up slightly easier, our stomachs will not be screaming at us constantly....

Everyone - please be careful. Now is the time when we will decide to 'treat' ourselves for being good. It is not time for that yet! It will anger you more and start the whole craving thing again.
Stay strong.
We are winning.

< goes back to battle>

Morning all.
Still feeling crap! Kids ate all the bananas so I've had 2 brunch bars for breakfast. Will buy bananas later.
Hoping to do better today. Don't know if I'm staying at home or going to my boyfriends house. His DS is at same school as my DDs. If I'm out I won't eat which is a good thing!
Have a good day all.

Tschiffely · 06/09/2012 08:34

Morning

I shall be playing dodge the biscuit tin today as I am back at work Sad.

Hope everyone has a good day.

FedUpOfRain · 06/09/2012 10:31

Is it too late to join? I really need to start being honest about my weight and I'm really unhappy with the way I look.
youcanringmybell you scare me a little bit, but I think thats what I need.
Off for a walk....

Tortoise · 06/09/2012 11:30

Fedup It's never too late.Smile

Good day so far. Boyf had to go out for bit so I came home did some housework. He's here now on pc! I've pulled out both the dishwasher and washing machine and cleaned under them. Only because repair man coming tomorrow to look at dishwasher.

Boyf being mean! We have a kfc opening locally and he said he'd get some one evening and bring it round. Then he said " oh but you can't have any you're on a diet!" Sad I've only had kfc once! Not fair lol.

Youcanringmybell · 06/09/2012 11:44

Fed up -

Thanks for entering the fray...I am trying to scare myself more than anyone else. We are taking this fat by the horns and forcing it out by any means necessary.
We need to:
Take responsibility for our weight
Take responsibility for what we put in our mouths
To conront the hunger that INEVITABLY comes when you stop shovelling food into our mouths 24/7

I had literally started to eat all day. Disgusting.

tortoise STOP BUYING BRUNCH BARS They are very chocolatey and delicious.
We are not allowed them at this delicate time of transition.
Please just have some toast and egg or porridge or weetabix or even alpen.
Or even special K bars (99p in Tesco at mo)

Sounds like you have enough will power not to have the KFC. It will make you feel worse not better................

OP posts:
cantmakecarrotcake · 06/09/2012 12:02

KFC is revolting, Tortoise! IF boyf gets some, keep one piece back and put it in the fridge. Then the next morning look at how much white congealed fat there is on the outside. I promise you'll never consider it appealing ever again. (This was my drunk food on the way back from the pub as a student).

I'm starving and resisting the biscuits in the work kitchen. I'm meeting a friend for lunch in a bit so I'll save myself for a lovely salad and ask for the dressing on the side.
