The NO EXCUSES, Now or NEVER slimming thread

Youcanringmybell · 30/08/2012 16:08

This is a thread for those who are pig sick of over eating and binging and have decided enough is enough.

There will be no excuses on this thread...no 'oh but I was due my period' or 'oh but it was left over so I finished it' etc

IF you need to have a nice meal as part of a celebration DO IT but no more excuses - have the meal and move on.

This is a thread for the brave.....this is a thread for the serious. Join at your peril.....

Monday mornings are weigh in - so that we cannot binge on the weekends. I am deliberately being hard on myself and if you want to do it to please join. Even if someone wafts wine and banoffee pie under my nose I will not have it - even if the world is going to end I WILL NOT HAVE IT

weigh in Monday morning and post here

Oh and drink some wine and eat some choc while you still can because on Monday you will be in hell Angry

I've got a really bad headache tonight. Wonder if its anything to do with eating better!

FuckityFuckFuck · 04/09/2012 23:20

A late night check in from me

Just back in from work, waiting for my dinner of cod fillet, literally 8 chips (I counted them) and a bucket load of salad. Then will get a cheeky 20 mins on the exercisse bike before bed time :)

Again, I had a can of diet coke today but it lasted me 5 hours at work

BRING ON DAY 3 :o

oneandnomore · 04/09/2012 23:31

Evening ladies. Am late tonight, but had a good day!
I had some Belavita biscuits and a yogurt for breakfast. I know the fat content is high but they do keep me going till lunch.
Also have drunk lots of water today. Half an hour on exercise bike done also.

Have got a meeting first thing and there will be those little packs of biscuits, but I am ready to resist, even though they would help with the boredom!

Bring on day three. Good luck all Smile

Tortoise · 05/09/2012 07:59

Morning all.
Not having a good start to the day! Cold I had last week has developed into a cough which is getting worse. Feel rough this morning.
Also freezer door got partly left open last night. Lots of food to cook up and my favourite pizza is in the fridge. I'm the only one who likes it. Can't chuck it out.

DDs back to school today. So back to lots of walking. At least 4 miles a day as its a mile walk to school.
Hope everyone has a good day.

cantmakecarrotcake · 05/09/2012 09:19

Morning all,

Sorry about your cold/cough, Tortoise, I think I'm heading the same way - just in time for my holiday :-(

Bum to the freezer - what a nightmare. Don't fret about the pizza, it's ok to have it, but just keep an eye on the portion size. My theory is if you make a diet too arduous and make yourself eat cardboard and dust you'll neither stick to it nor modify your eating habits for the better.

I'm going to weigh-in on Friday/Saturday as I won't have access to scales on Monday. Hoping for some loss, albeit small. I can't decide if I'm getting used to the amount I'm eating, or whether I'm having larger meals than I think, as I'm feeling fuller for longer. Hopefully the former.

Counting the hours until lunchtime - I do have a bunch of grapes to keep me going, but starting them at 9:15 isn't going to help things.

Tortoise · 05/09/2012 10:04

Thanks Carrotcake (Yum lol!) Managed to get an appointment with the Doctor at 2pm today. Normally i'd eat the whole pizza but maybe could put some in the fridge to have cold. Its a lovely sweet chilli chicken one! Grin

Had nothing to eat so far. Not hungry at the moment. Still got a headache though.

LetLoveRule · 05/09/2012 10:11

Hope you feel better tortoise. Have a good day everyone!

Youcanringmybell · 05/09/2012 12:41

Ok as predicted this day is HELL

I went for a run again but only managed about 10 mins without stopping. I have totally and utterly fucked my body up. I weigh in pounds...today I converted it to stones and was genuinely shocked. I thought I was just over 13st - not nearly 14st.

I am supposed to be going out on Friday before my husband goes away for 6 months. I don't want to...I am too embarrassed to be seen out - especially as it is for a meal. I cannot believe I let myself get so disgusting.

OP posts:
Tschiffely · 05/09/2012 13:17

Bell, we've all be there but that is why we are here. Don't beat yourself up, go for your meal, enjoy it and then use the 6 months that your dh is away to work on yourself. Last Friday I was practically in tears as I could not find any thing that would fit for work, I've been on salads and exercising, today I squeezed into some work trousers Grin. OK so I am a loooong way from sliding into them (although I have the help of a tummy trimmer, but I have something to wear and I have motivation because I have never been in this situation before or felt so hopeless.

Youcanringmybell · 05/09/2012 13:24

We are supposed to be dressing up .. have a choice of three dresses - they fit. I know I will look like a dogs dinner.

I hope I do not have panic attack - we are meeting another couple out and she is about a size 10/12. I am a size 16 and will look massive. I cannot cancel...

OP posts:
Tschiffely · 05/09/2012 13:30

That's great that you have a choice of what to wear. I would seriously consider some shaping underwear, I am literally stunned at how trousers slide on with this thing I bought. The bonus is that I can actually breathe in it as well Grin. It really does give a smooth shape and makes me feel slimmer. Is getting your hair done for the dinner an option?

Tschiffely · 05/09/2012 13:32

oh, and I work with a bunch of skinnies, so everyday I see size 10 label coat/jackets next to the size 16 that I squeeze into, every blooming day!!

cantmakecarrotcake · 05/09/2012 13:40

I usually weigh in kg, youcan, which meant I could be blissfully unaware of the stones figure - the ones that I can better relate to. I knew deep down I'd breached the next stones number though and was bitterly disappointed in myself.

BUT... you've recognised it, and you're doing something about it. Not only that, you're bullying us into it encouraging us too Thanks. Go out, dress up, don't sit next to a mirror (or the size 10/12 lady!) and enjoy yourself (while eating/drinking sensibly). It's more important to give your hubby a good send off - he won't thank you for having a crisis just as he leaves (sorry if that's a bit harsh). Just think what you'll look like when he comes back!

Youcanringmybell · 05/09/2012 13:41

Ah thanks...I can do my own hair nice..I have some control pants and the dresses are all nice shape.
I have got a sequin skirt from Next - if you search for sequin skirt on next - i got the Plum colour to wear with a black vest top and black shrug with tights and plum stilettos.
Do you think the skirt is a mistake???

OP posts:
cantmakecarrotcake · 05/09/2012 13:52

Ooh, nice skirt. Really flattering for curves I reckon. Smile. If I had anywhere to wear one, I'd be tempted to buy one myself.

Youcanringmybell · 05/09/2012 15:44

Well this is my 'sore' point really. I am going to dread going out Friday night and yet I ant to have night out. I hate being the 'fat' one.

I just saw a lady at school that I haven't seen for about three months...she has lost LOADS of weight! She was a good size 20 and now I would put her at a large 14. Shock She seemed so unlikely to lose weight as she hates exercise and was always blase about her weight. Made me realise ANYONE CAN DO IT if I just don't put all that shit into my mouth. By christmas that could be ME and ALL OF US

I am going to celebrate the fact that this is going to be the last night out I have where I feel like the 'fat' 'ugly' one.

Now onto more important matters -what I will wear....I have another dress, it is purple and short, a size 14 and fits well or a black dress like the 'mesh dress' in black that is also on Next now....

OP posts:
cantmakecarrotcake · 05/09/2012 16:02

Ooh, now I like the mesh dress even better. Black is super-flattering and the pencil skirt shape is gorgeous on curves. That would be my choice.

Well, your school lady should be inspiration. We're all blase until we reach breaking point. That point is either 'OMG look how fat I am' or health-related and none of us wants it to be the latter.

I like your 'celebrating the last night of fat'

On a less positive note I was tempted into a mini cupcake and cookie at work. BUT from a calorie perspective it might possibly balance the apple and banana I'm not now going to eat.

FermezLaBouche · 05/09/2012 17:15

Today was HARD!

Great start - coffee and cereal for breakfast. Lunch - soup - fine.
Got out of school early and stopped at tesco to get some potatoes. Oh my God but EVERY delicious fatty thnig was on offer. Doritos....wine....Stella big bottles.
A little voice in my head was saying "You've worked hard, you've been good - just a bottle of beer."

But once again I managed to resist. Well apart from some Diet Pepsi, but quite frankly given the massive difference in my diet over the last 3 days I feel no guilt in that.

Making a shepherd's pie in a bit which should last me 2 dinners. I know it's not the healthiest but I'm using my freezer stuff at the mo and to be honest, I've had bugger all to eat in the day. One reasonable-sized meal at night is fine.

Can't start thinking about buying nice clothes at the moment as I'm nowhere near that point. Just focussing on what I can achieve before Christmas so when I go home to visit, people notice.

youcan, the outfits you describe all sound lovely. And with nice hair you will look fab. I am very Envy as I am crap at doing anything with my hair!

Well, I survived my morning test- no bacon sarnies, but food available at meetings was all rubbish. I have about 350 calories left and am starving!!

buggyRunner · 05/09/2012 18:18

great day here (had a sneaky weigh in and lost 2.5 lbs already)
so went to work- stuck to plan and went for a run on the way home!
I don't feel as hungry this week (last week was on period). im viewing every "no thanks" as a win.
however- tomorrow I'm at a conference so it will be hard. I will not have any cake!

Youcanringmybell · 05/09/2012 18:26

Carrot - I like the black one too...but I always wear black but if the skirt makes me look huge it is going back!!
Fermez - well done on your will power today. That is a definite victory. We are all achieving victories every day...I hope.
Mavis - don't beat yourself up. NO EXCUSES - you ate it and then MOVED ON. You have pulled it back so well done !
Cocoa - Well done on your refusal of bacon - not easy! You can do a lot with 350cals - hope you enjoy them.
Buggy - Good work - glad the hunger isn't so bad this week for you. Mine is just kicking in.

Husband has gone to shops and is bringing me home a ww pudding. Time for the big guns so to speak. I only had 800cals today and went for a run.

Now back to myself:

IF THE HAIRY BIKERS CAN DO IT - SURE AS SHIT, SO CAN WE!!! Angry

Tschiffely · 05/09/2012 18:35

bell glad you are feeling brighter, there will be many, many blips along the way but this thread will keep us on the straight and narrow [hopefully]. Must catch up with the bikers, saw the first programme then forgot all about it [palm to forehead].

Been a good couple of days for me, am definitely eating a lot less which is good just hope I can be consistent. Anyone else fighting the urge to weigh every day?

Tschiffely · 05/09/2012 18:36

buggyrunner that's brilliant Grin.

Youcanringmybell · 05/09/2012 18:45

OH yes - I am trying not to weigh until monday now. I did a sneaky weigh in Tuesday and had lost a couple of pounds but with the amount I have to lose it seems like a drop in the ocean.

I need to catch up on the bikers too....Smile
