Youcanringmybell · 30/08/2012 16:08

This is a thread for those who are pig sick of over eating and binging and have decided enough is enough.

There will be no excuses on this thread...no 'oh but I was due my period' or 'oh but it was left over so I finished it' etc

IF you need to have a nice meal as part of a celebration DO IT but no more excuses - have the meal and move on.

This is a thread for the brave.....this is a thread for the serious. Join at your peril.....

Monday mornings are weigh in - so that we cannot binge on the weekends. I am deliberately being hard on myself and if you want to do it to please join. Even if someone wafts wine and banoffee pie under my nose I will not have it - even if the world is going to end I WILL NOT HAVE IT

weigh in Monday morning and post here

Oh and drink some wine and eat some choc while you still can because on Monday you will be in hell Angry

Afternoon,

I did really well yesterday, my one slip-up was a can of diet coke but compared to my usual 5 or 6 cans of normal coke, it wasn't too bad.

I was really busy at work last night, got in around 1am and up again at 7 so I am knackered. This is usually the time I will start reaching for the junk food, but I haven't succumbed and have had breakfast, healthy lunch and some low fat fruit biscuit things from Sainsburys (only 170 kcals). I'm gonna out DS down for a nap in a bit, do half an hour exercise and then grab a nap as well before work again this evening

KampaKat · 04/09/2012 13:28

Got up late again so no breakfast which I know isn't good.

At work I had 5 ridiculously thin corn cakes @ 16 cals each - barely worth eating but they stopped me heading toward the chocolate gingers Grin

My lovely colleague had made a frittata and offered me a taste and I thought it would be rude to say no. I only had a corner of it and it only contained egg and veg so not actually too bad.

Lunch was a slice of granary with cheddar, two wafer thin slice of ham and a spread of peanut butter... I know it doesn't sound particularly healthy but it contains everyting I want to snack on in one sandwich so now I have no need to snack!

No idea what dinner will be yet need to pop into the village when DD wakes up.

Keep up the good work everyone - we can do it!

ImCoveredInBeeeees · 04/09/2012 13:42

I've been doing okay. Exercised for one hour yesterday: crosstraining.

Food intake was fine - a bit on the low side if anything.

This morning did 30 mins crosstraining and I've just finished my first meal of the day - chicken with salad.

Kampa you don't have to eat your first meal of the day in the morning. This is received wisdom and thoroughly ingrained in us, but it is not based on any evidence.

LetLoveRule · 04/09/2012 14:06

Hello all! Sooo chuffed day 1 went ok. Day 2 going ok food-wise but as usual I didn't manage to take a break from work to go swimming as planned. Hopefully DH will be home in time for me to go later. Think I will leave early to pick up the kids and take a stroll in this gorgeous sunshine!

Really liking mfp. So easy being able to zap those barcodes on my phone! Wd recommend.

Til later!

I'm pretty lucky regarding baking as I'm shit at it so no temptation there!

Tortoise · 04/09/2012 16:15

Just got back from a long dog walk. I would say around 4 miles. It was quite a hilly walk too. Really hungry now but going to have a big drink of water instead of snacking before dinner.

ImCoveredInBeeeees · 04/09/2012 17:10

Just done another 45 mins cross training

Bonsoir all!

I'm a moron. Forgot to take my beautifully prepared wholemeal chicken roll into work today. In fact I forgot ANY food. I also had no milk this morning so had no breakfast. This meant that during the day my only sustenance was coffee and (shame) 2 hobnobs. I don't feel that guilty though as it kept me going.

For tea I've had a chicken Kiev, new potatoes and sweetcorn. Not mega-healthy but
a) It's filled me up
b) I wont pick at anythnig tonight (especially as my fridge is empty)
c) I haven't spent any money on stupid fatty food
d) Second evening with no wine!!! And I am not longing for it!

Can I ask what alcohol people drink? I love my pints of lager and adore red wine but these are toxic to the dieter. Tempted at some point to invest in a bottle of gin and treat myself to a G and T before bed..... but I'm kind of enjoying the "no-alcohol" smugness......

Fuckity I am a coke addict too. Diet coke. I was desperate for a can earlier to the point where I was thinking "I've got £x in my purse - diet coke or tampons?" At that point I gave myself a virtual kick up the arse.

Bake-off and bed with a milky coffee for me, I think.

cantmakecarrotcake · 04/09/2012 19:27

Good food choices, Mavis

Coffee and 2 hobnobs is a bit less impressive though. Yes it's about eating less but we still do need some nutrients in a day...

Re alcohol, I guess we're pretty moderate really. We don't drink Mon-Weds. Thursday is the new Friday so we crack a bottle of wine. Between the 2 of us we usually only get through 2 bottles a week. Toddlers and hangovers don't really mix. Occasionally we'll have the odd drink if we're out for lunch, but again having a toddler kind of limits that a bit too.

We need to get a babysitter more often, clearly!

FermezLaBouche · 04/09/2012 19:34

I knooooow, I'm rubbish. Have already put tomorrow's soup in my bag so back on track. I feel less shit after hobnobs and coffee than i would if it were my usual (lots and lots of CHEESE)

Youcanringmybell · 04/09/2012 19:41

Evening ladies....well the night is yet young so I am STRONGLY URGING any of you that are feeling the need to snack this evening to think of your fat wobbling when you go up and down the stairs.

Not to be mean but.....if you think today is hard just wait for DAY 3 to HIT. And boy will it hit.............day three will be an arse of a day.

However, we have been to hell and back over these two days and we didn't waste away, die in a screaming fit of hunger or pass out.

WE ARE ALIVE LADIES

So tomorrow you will WAIVER.
FIGHT IT FIGHT IT
WE CAN DO THIS Thanks

I've just had beef stew for dinner, packed full of veg and haricot beans.

Have to admit to one glass of red wine - it is my first guilt free alcohol since 28th October 2010 though as I stopped BFing two nights ago. However, we are TTC so hopefully it will also be my last guilt free glass of wine for a while Grin

I like the idea that breakfast does not have to be the first meal of the day - I put myself under to much pressure when I start dieting to eat breakfast but I feel that I stay on a diet longer if I don't eat until later in the morning...it makes sense to me anyhoo!

Fermez well done for packing your lunch already! I think I am off to IKEA tomorrow with a friend - so maybe just 5 meatballs...

cantmakecarrotcake · 04/09/2012 20:04

A tip from a friend for evening (or any time really) snackers:

Brush your teeth after your meal - most foods (especially ice cream) taste awful after toothpaste and you'll get past the craving.

kampakat i'm still drinking my few glasses of wine at the weekend - if my weight loss plateaus I'll consider dropping them. Next week is an exception as I'm on holiday so imagine we'll partake every night Blush

We're TTC too so losing weight will be the silver lining of the not-pg cloud.

cocoaGOLDchannel · 04/09/2012 20:14

Evening everyone.

Sounds like everyone's done brilliantly today!

Your words will ring in my ears tomorrow morning at Kings X youcanringmybell. Will not eat bacon...will not eat bacon...

ParaOlympicpark · 04/09/2012 20:37

Hey mates. You know my chant SAY NO TO CHEESE weeeeeel, it kind of got ignored because DH made pasta for tea and as per chopped up a load of feta to go on top, and disgustingly we normally share a while block. NOT THIS TIME!
I shovelled half of mine back onto DH's plate. Also had Baxters healthy tomato and lentil soup for lunch, yoghurt for breakfast and raisins for snacks. Big glass of orange juice when I got home too. That stopped me feeling gutted when I couldn't eat crisps.
Ignored; crisps, cake, chocolates, chocolate cake and lots of fatty sandwiches in staff room.

LetLoveRule · 04/09/2012 20:47

Evening troops. Well, I didn't make it swimming today but definitely can tomorrow. Whoop whoop. Now watching baking programme and salivating.
Nearly another day closer to slimness hey?

Goldidi · 04/09/2012 20:49

Well I've had banana on toast for breakfast (yum yum, and dd2 doesn't like bananas so I didn't even have to share :))
Lunch was vege lasagne with salad, followed by fruit
Dinner is leftover veg curry with boiled rice.
All very nice, feeling reasonably full and no real need for much snacking. I did have some fruit when I got home with dd2 at 5pm

buggyRunner · 04/09/2012 21:38

excellent excersizing tortoise and bees I have just got back from
volleyball and I'm knackered

Tortoise · 04/09/2012 21:46

I had an apple a while after dinner.
Got stressed with 9yr old DD1 at bedtime.
Ate a slice of cherry and almond cake. I'm not happy with myself. I didn't enjoy it but in my head i was saying fuck it, i've eaten that i might as well go back to normal and scoff anything i want!
Well, i didn't! I stayed strong. I didn't give in.

So although there is a negative there, there is also a positive. I'm eating massively less than normal and i resisted quitting!

Alcohol wise i have the occasional bottle of Budweiser. If there's none in the house it doesn't bother me. I'm not giving it up for now as my only other drink is water. Never drink anything else. (People think i'm weird because i don't drink tea, coffee, squash, coke etc!)

Here's to a good day tomorrow.

buggyRunner · 04/09/2012 21:54

so day 2:

Weetabix minis breakfast
strawberries, grapes, banana

chicken drum sticks x4 (no skin)
lettuce and tomatoes
Yogart (ski Greek)

weatabix minis 2 portions for tea

options hot choc

buggyRunner · 04/09/2012 21:55

get cake out of the house tortoise you owe it to yourself to make this work. Smile

Tortoise · 04/09/2012 22:33

I can't. Its for DD's lunchboxes. It is homemade so got to be a bit better than eating shop bought cake. (NOT making excuses!)
I haven't eaten chocolate or crisps which normally i eat loads off, 2 packs at a time normally!
