I recognise that cycle...

I am desperately trying to resist the mound of goodies that are in the office. Not that I really want it...

What do I do with the grapes they bought me as they knew I couldn't eat the other stuff?

vnmum · 03/09/2012 14:59

Any thoughts on my weigh in dilemma from pp ladies?

Back to school for ds on wednesday and dd starts reception on thursday. Don't know wether to be Sad or Grin about that.

tea i am looking more towards my bodyfat % rather than weight now. Although i still have a weight in mind, i am going to keep going until my body fat is where i want it and until i am happy with how i look. Hopefully it will work ok, but i like the athletic look and keep being told it is unattainable without alot of hard work.

Hello,

I was on a couple of the bootcamp threads before the summer, but then drifted away as I've been away from home all summer (student, was volunteering at the Olympics etc).

However I'm now back in my uni flat, and am trying to get back into this way of eating. However I have invited friends around for dinner tomorrow night... Does anyone have any good suggestions of meals I can make and then eat most of? I don't mind cooking extra things for the friends. One is a veggie, and one is gluten intolerant.

Thanks!!

vezzie · 03/09/2012 15:27

StudyingStudying,
What about:

Chilli (with optional rice and beans) (you can make one with quorn mince for the veggie) and nice salads / salsas

Roast chicken with roast vegetables (you make low carb vegetables except the spuds and ignore them) (do felafel for the veggie, these are nice felafel

tapas: loads of tapas are low carb and things like tortilla are veggie; this is a way of serving food which draws no attention to certain people not eating certain things, so feels very inclusive

PrincessSparkle86 · 03/09/2012 17:16

welcome back studying studying

I made the emmental lasagne today...was very scrummy, i think i'll get 2 or 3 servings out of it. I ate it with lettuce and some grated parmesan and it was very filling!

Might have some more for tea with more lettuce Grin

Tea how was meeting all the inlaws?

Male colleague told me I was lookin v slim today, which surprised me, would have thought most men would avoid the subject of women's weight! Am used to female colleagues commenting on weight and diet but I try to avoid these conversations.

MrsHerculePoirot · 03/09/2012 17:41

Vnmum maybe just weigh on usual day, presumably over time that should show the correct trend?

PrincessSparkle86 · 03/09/2012 17:56

I've found a looong carb list online..covers alot, more for the carb lighters i suppose as its got the naughty bits like booze and berries in! oh and pasta! i've saved it as a word doc but i cant figure out how to post it here...

NotMostPeople · 03/09/2012 18:05

Hello everyone

I haven't been posting for a while as I've been yo yo -ing between low carb and completely off the rails ever since we went on holiday. The dc's were away most of last week so I used that as another excuse to eat all sorts of crap.

As of today I'm back on track. I threw out all my size 16 clothes at the weekend, so I have to go back to the WOE AND I was getting fed up with all the sugary stuff.

So far I've skipped breakfast and just had a few bits of cheese, but I'm about to put a chicken breast in the oven and have it with avocado/salad.

Am too frightened to weigh myself.

halfthesize · 03/09/2012 18:56

Hi all, vnmum I would weigh after a normal day I think.

Just back from the hospital which turned out to be a lengthy app, I have to have an operation to remove the lump, but because of my recently diagnosed heart problem, will be problematic!! Such a fun afternoon.

Lunch was pork belly and salad
Dinner chicken and veg done in a herb/creamy sauce

Welcome back NMP

WillieWaggledagger · 03/09/2012 19:01

Sorry to hear about your health probs halfthesize, hope you're looking after yourself

Welcome back NMP - good strategy getting rid of the larger clothes!

Have just had butter and herb roasted chicken leg portion with salad and mayonnaise

Dammit was getting excited about how low carb the prunes are then i looked up the tinned ones :(

BIWI · 03/09/2012 19:52

Obviously with the spreadsheet you're free to add other stuff if you want to - just make sure that if you add anything that the formulae still work.

halfthesize · 03/09/2012 19:55

princess and willie thanks...

princessI add lots of different things, but my fav is smoked paprika and chilli, its yummy!

BIWI the links work great Thanks

Viperidae · 03/09/2012 20:11

halfthesize How do you cook your belly pork? I made it for tea tonight but it has gone a bit tough and hard instead of melty. Must have burned off a few calories chewing though!

I've had a good day today, wasn't hungry Shock so skipped breakfast, did my Gillian Michaels dvd (well I tried and did some of it, I still can't manage the whole thing), chicken omelette and salad for lunch, courgette soup, tough belly pork and salad for tea.

Spreadsheets are great BIWI, thanks. I'm going to have to work at liking more things of the top half of the lists though!

halfthesize · 03/09/2012 20:20

Viperidae I slow cook it for 4 hours at least depending on size of joint... I dont add anything bar the herbs/spices, as it releases so much fat.

Tea: 2 salmon steaks, steamed broccoli, fried mushrooms and a generous crumbling of Boursin over the whole lot. Yum yum and double yum.

snacks: one sausage, 2 teaspoons of sugar free peanut butter, a couple of gin and slims, very small handful of nuts, 2 coffees with cream.
