The unwillingness to cheat is funny isn't it? I'm going to a friend's tonight and will be taking my own nibbles and sparkling water and leaving early to avoid cheating!

BIWI · 31/08/2012 11:08

AuntieMaggie - I don't know if you've already posted this, but how much water are you drinking on a daily basis? And are you eating salt/taking any electrolytes/supplements to keep your potassium/magnesium levels up? And how long have you been low carbing for now?

vnmum - I'm not really sure about the TRX. I don't use it every time I go to the gym, and it always seems a bit easy - I do wonder what it's doing for me! (And it does feel like a playground toy!)

AuntieMaggie · 31/08/2012 11:23

2-3 litres of water, eating salt but not taking anything else, been lc for almost 3 weeks now but only bootcamping since the weekend.

I take metformin for pcos and vitamins b, c , d and calcium and evening primrose.

emmak86 · 31/08/2012 11:23

Morning all

BIWI happy birthday for yesterday Smile

Im weighing in at 86.4 this morning! MFP is telling me thats a loss of 5.8 kilos, wooo!

Dinner at lunch time today as were going to a wedding reception tonight.. With buffet :/ i will resist the carbs however! X

AuntieMaggie · 31/08/2012 11:25

Thinking about it I've also had codiene this week so that might explain some of it

BIWI · 31/08/2012 11:43

It could be, if you've only just started Bootcamp, that you have some carb withdrawal going on - it depends on how strictly you were restricting carbs before. How much do you weigh/how tall are you?

AuntieMaggie · 31/08/2012 11:58

I'm 104 kg 5'6"

OK that sounds sensible.

I only have a period every 6 months as I take my pill back to back to minimise the pcos symptoms hence why I'm not sure.

I'll stick with it am really pleased with the results so far.

WillieWaggledagger · 31/08/2012 12:01

biwi that chap's blog is v interesting thank you - did you see his food diary including half a pint of double cream as part of his breakfast? Grin

humph i've found that in certain situations i've had to reduce water intake (e.g. long car journeys or lack of available loos), and I definitely feel the worse for it!

BIWI · 31/08/2012 12:29

AuntieMaggie - you should be drinking a lot more water. I will re-post a table about how much when I can get back on my computer

AuntieMaggie · 31/08/2012 12:48

Thanks BIWIfound it on page 3 and did the calculator.

I drink tea/coffee too but don't count that.

Will drink more! :o

halfthesize · 31/08/2012 12:59

Hi All

Breakfast - 2 rashers bacon
Lunch - prawn salad
4 pints water so far

BIWI · 31/08/2012 13:04

But - drinking more means you need to be careful as well. Sodium and potassium are key, and if these are not being consumed in sufficient amounts you may also feel unwell. So use salt on your food. Salmon and avocado are great for potassium. Or you could always consider buying the electrolyte stuff that others recommend.

AuntieMaggie · 31/08/2012 13:21

Great - i love salmon and avocado :o

Thank you for all your advice BIWI

Thegoddessblossom · 31/08/2012 14:05

Lunch - exactly the same as yesterday Grin

BIWI · 31/08/2012 14:38

My pleasure - hope it works!

captainmummy · 31/08/2012 16:19

Feeling guilty (after all the talk about not feeling like cheating!) - went to cafe with a friend and had the usual large Latte-and-free-teacake without even thinking about it! Drank loads to help combat it - but I did enjoy it.

Prawns and samphire in butter/garlic and salad in mayo for lunch on top!

NigellasGuest · 31/08/2012 17:05

had 2 monster munch and about 8 mini eggs on the train today.

well, in the past I would have taken that as a cue to finish off the packet but actually I'm straight back on the wagon.

I really like that bloke's blog BIWI - particularly impressed by his "fat shake"! I was looking online for interesting websites about LC-ing but didn't find anything myself. I did come across some Paleo Woman who put me off by saying that Paleo Women do not wear deodorant Confused

sybilfaulty · 31/08/2012 17:21

I am making a cheese sauce but it's too thick. What can I let it down with? Have run out of cream.......

Help please!

BIWI · 31/08/2012 17:22

Just a little water

MrsHerculePoirot · 31/08/2012 17:24

I left mine thick and just put big dollops of it in the lasagne knowing it would melt more later!!!

sybilfaulty · 31/08/2012 17:29

Thanks. IT won't split if I just add water I hope?

Mrs HP, I would blob it on but its for cauliflower cheese....

Thanks again

EyesDoMoreThanSee · 31/08/2012 17:39

Went out for lunch with DH today (sans toddler) and had surf and turf and for the first time in my life requested that I have salad not chips. Then when it arrived it came with chips! So I sent it back - oh the willpower- and had salad.

I did then ruin it all slightly by a mouthful or two of eton mess but I am sticking to the overall no bread/pasta/fruit etc

MrsHerculePoirot · 31/08/2012 17:55

Well done - good willpower!

I've got quite used to asking for a side salad or veg instead of chips and usually find everywhere are fine with that. I always feel very virtuous when I do it as well!!!

AuntieMaggie · 31/08/2012 18:10

Whats the deal with ice cream and bootcamp?

EyesDoMoreThanSee · 31/08/2012 18:18

i don't get out much so it was a real treat!

I have just sat and written a months worth of meals, breakfast, lunch and tea and almost finished the associated bare bones shopping list. It has been an epic task but is about to joined by a list of daily and weekly routine for cleaning, daily tasks, cooking rota etc. I am determined to whip this house into shape and to stop nagging DH. He has agreed in theory to all cooking as long as I get up with DD in the night.....

It has brought it home to me however just how boring our meals are. We have meat (or fish) I stopped BFing DD yesterday and so can gradually reintroduce cheese, still finding that I want to put stews and tagines on the list which do have quite a few things like lentils & pulses in. Is there any website where I can enter the ingredients and figure out carb in a portion size?
