Weighed in again and have lost another 2lbs, which I am really pleased with, especially considering that I have actually eaten a fair bit of rocky road over the weekend! I made it for my DD's nursery fair, but had to taste it first, obviously!! I am now wondering how much more I could have lost if I hadn't been so greedy!

Did lots of cycling over the weekend and so much gardening that my legs barely work today! I also went horse-riding this morning, and have just asked to rehome a rescue dog, which will give me a great reason to walk more! We just need to be home-checked next week so am keeping fingers crossed that it works out.

Off to Norfolk for a mini holiday with my family tomorrow, so am going to have to work really hard to resist seaside treats...

Fingers crossed it'll be another 2lbs next week - then it'll have been almost half a stone! This thing does really work doesn't it?!

tostaky · 28/08/2012 20:52

Hi there! Been MIA for a few weeks as I went to stay with my parents. I wanted to weight myself this morning to assess the damage but my scales are broken... Or the battery is dead...
On Saturday I'm going for 2 weeks holidays in turkey - this is our big holiday this year, I was planning to weight 65kg by then but even if I don't eat and drink until Saturday, I'm never going to achieve that... To compensate I had an inexpensive shopping spree on eBay and bought loads of beach dress and cover ups!Wink

cheeseandmushroomtoastie · 28/08/2012 22:17

Can I ask how many calories you guys are on a day please? I am on 1300. Want to lose weight steadily and cut out the junk I eat mainly, but will I actually lose weight on that amount of calories. I assume I do no exercise which I don't so any I do do is a bonus.

sparkleshine · 28/08/2012 22:17

hiya

Welcome back to everyone who has been away. Hope you had a lovely time wherever you went.
Enjoy your holidays lisbapalea and tostaky
Nothing wrong with a shopping spree. Will you buy new scales to check your weight before you go?

Congrats to the weight losses this week :)

I will be day 365 tomorrow. 1 whole year of MFP logging. Don't know if that's a bit obsessive. I'm going to weigh myself even though it's not Sunday. I've only been weighing every 3/4 weeks for the past few months and not really losing anymore. Very much doubt I will have got the 4lbs I want to get that 6 stone.

RGPargy · 28/08/2012 22:20

Hi everyone :) Just checking in. Nothing much to report really. Have re-started (yet again) today and the day started off so well! Then DD had a play date with the two DC of her old childminder and we were offered lunch (a sandwich) so didn't want to appear fussy so just ate a ham salad sandwich. I didn't do too much damage thankfully and have been very good for the rest of the day :)

tostaky Enjoy your holiday! I'm sure you can just pick up where you left off when you get back. No point even trying now..... Hmm

lisbapalea Well done on the 2lb loss! It's only natural that you MUST taste all wares offered for cake sales. Who knows what could happen if you dont!! Shock Wink Well done on rehoming the dog. :) I am not sure if I could actually resist seaside treat tho.... Good luck!! :)

Mackerel Hope you enjoyed your hols. Sounds lovely (except for the calamari!). Ah bless ya re the pics. I do know what you mean tho. I have a pic of me from Christmas the year before last and i do look so much bigger. I'm still relatively big now tho so although i feel a little thinner it IS depressing to see pics of myself at my current weight too. Hmm Still, nevermind. That's what we're here to change after all, isn't it. :) We just have to knuckle down and get the job done.

alicia Well done on your weight! I think i would like to be the same weight as i was when i was 30. I was about 10 1/2 - 11 stone back then and felt fab. I could pick anything off the hanger in a clothes shop and know it would fit. Here's hoping!

RGPargy · 28/08/2012 22:22

Well done on the 365 Sparkle!! Fabulous! It's not obsessive. Just dedicated. Wink

ChookKeeper · 29/08/2012 13:21

Well done Sparkle such an inspiration!

I'm in this for the long haul too, which can be a bit daunting, but I'm just taking it a day at a time and know that the time will pass whether or not I stick to this new way of eating.

I'm fed up of looking back to the past and regretting not starting earlier so I love hearing about the fantastic changes that can happen over a year.

Tomorrow is my week 5 weigh in and I've lost a stone so far so I know it definitely works.

cinnamongreyhound · 29/08/2012 13:24

I think you need to do what you feel comfortable with aliciaflorrick, I found it hard to stop losing weight, not because I wanted to be any smaller but because it was another change and I was worried it would be a negative one. I actually feel I'm too thin now, it's taken a while to see myself as I am and not what I thought I looked like! I am an 8/10 and weigh 9st 8 at 5'5", looking at bmi it would still be normal at 8st but I dot think I'd look very healthy! My body shape has changed dramatically and I've gone from quite a curvy figure to having quite an athletic frame, my hips are quite narrow without all the flab and my shoulders are quite wide and very lean. I have also gone from a 36G to a 32D so my new bust is taking some gettin used to. I am a healthy weight which is why I started this and I'm sure I will get used to my new body, just need to learn which clothes suit me now :). All I'm trying to say is think about why you'd want to lose another half a stone and do what makes you happy as long as you're healthy and it's for the right reasons.

Try not to look at it negatively MackrelOfFact!! You've don't really well and you will lose the rest :) you've had a great holiday and are two stone lighter, healthier and I'm sure you look fab in your photos!!

Well done lisbapalea! I live on te Norfolk/Suffolk boarder, where are you going?

Welcome back tostaky! Sorry to hear your scales are bust but try not to worry about it and have a wonderful holiday :)

1300 is pretty low cheeseandmushroomtoastie, and mfp is good at getting the calories right so I'm sure you will lose. I didn't get lower than 1300 when I was loosing and was at 1600 when I started.

Well done on getting to your year sparkleshine! What's the plan now?

cinnamongreyhound · 29/08/2012 13:25

Sorry ChookKeeper, x-posts! Well done on a stone in 5 weeks that's great!!

Emandlu · 29/08/2012 13:28

Ooh, can I join in too? I've just downloaded the app and have been logging in since Friday. I will weigh in this coming Friday morning so am hoping it will have worked. I've been under my suggested calories every day except 1 and even then I was under my base metabolic rate. I'm on 1420 calories a day hoping to lose about 1lb a week.

So far I have managed to do a bit more exercise too, and it has encouraged me to exercise more on days where I know I've got something big on in the evening.

hazeldog · 29/08/2012 14:43

Is anyone else bf while doing mfp? I've been hungry most days trying to stick to the limit while feeding a very hungry 3mo so allowed myself about 300 extra to account for the difference. I'm big built and under 2000 calories just do sent feel like enough but when I weighed myself at the weekend I'dlost nothing in 6 weeks. The only excersize I can get is dog walking but the weather is being obstructive and its a rare day I can manage 10000 steps. Going to try expressing and try and get to the gym but realistically I'm only going to manage that one evening a week. Baby do sent like being put down and dosent nap in the day which is hugely limiting my usually high activity levels. I'm 3 st over pre preg weight and have under active thyroid into the bargain. Any ideas or am I just being impatient?

tostaky · 30/08/2012 03:28

Hi hazel, I'm breastdeeding a 3 months old too! I have set my calories to 1600 a day. I don't exercise though I have two toddlers I try to exhaust every day. I don't add any extra cals for bf.
I find if I go below 1500 my milk supply is affected.
I lost well the first 6 weeks of mfp but it is slower now.

I'm hoping to start one Zumba class a week early October and if baby starts nursery in January, then I'll be able to do more exercising. My pelvic floor is shot anyway so I do need to take my time before doing high impact activities (like running which I love)

hazeldog · 30/08/2012 09:02

Yeah my back and joints are terrible so anything high impact is out. Maybe I should be thinking about swimming not the gym. My calories are set quite high 1940 presumably because I'm tall and fairly active. Yesterday I was well under that and wasn't hungry but some other days I just can't keep to it. I'm wondering if the mirena coil has something to do with it. I have heard it can increase appetite.

MackerelOfFact · 30/08/2012 09:24

Thanks for the encouragement RGPargy and cinnamongreyhound - I think I'd just been imagining myself as a svelte goddess, when in reality I am still a chubby little thing with two stone of extra baggage. But I will get there, I'm halfway. :)

Have lost the holiday weight in about the time it took me to put it on, so that's good. Have got back into the swing of MFP now too, only took a couple of days. Am having a much needed lean couple of weeks both food and money-wise.

sparkleshine - Nearly 6 stone in a year, that's incredible! I'm about 4 months in now, hope I'm still committed in 8 months' time. Well done!

ChookKeeper - A stone in 5 weeks is amazing, well done! Your calorie intake and breakfast/lunch/dinner breakdowns are about the same as mine, I find it really helpful to have an allowance for each meal.

Good to hear that people are giving themselves a break from MFP on their hols - it took me a few days to really 'let go' and not feel anxious about not logging the food I ate, but I think it's healthy to have a little break from it all.

Niceupthedance · 30/08/2012 14:53

Hi, SWPanda checking in - had about 10 days off mfp as it was doing my head in. Did OK for the first week then things like a pork pie (bloody hell!) and apple Danish started creeping in. So back on the bandwagon.

I had started doing 2 v low cal days per week, not fasting but just eating less. Eating about 600-700 cals. I didn't feel hungry and it has helped get the scales moving (as well as two stomach bugs in a month!). So now I've lost 10lbs and am 11st 9lbs.

More importantly, I fit in a pair of jeans I bought two weeks before I got pregnant, so that has cheered me right up. Still got 14lbs to go to my goal.

Well done to everyone for getting involved/keeping it up.

See you on the other side!

hazeldog · 30/08/2012 15:14

i just walked nearly 7 miles. take that wobbly bits! realised i cant actually do gym stuff for antoher 2 months as i had a c section :(

MonsterBookOfTysons · 30/08/2012 16:07

I am on holiday.so will be weighing in after a couple of days at home, been trying to be good but alcohol and cinema food is not healthy :o

nimbs · 30/08/2012 18:45

7 miles!! Well done. Well done everyone else for their weight loss too! Monster like you we're off for the weekend - so not entirely sure I'll be able to log - let alone what - I'd like to keep up the logging in so don't lose all my days!

Not weighed myself in a long time - think I will once the kids are back at school - always knew that the school holidays would be a problem for me - as I mostly exercise at home - and the kids get bored if I do so have mostly been walking everywhere - esp. since it's so expensive to take all the children on the bus!

Hope everyone has a good weekend :)

Emandlu · 30/08/2012 22:46

I'm weighing in tomorrow. It will be my first weigh in since I started this a week ago. I'm quite nervous really, though it does stand to reason that I should have lost weight as I haven't gone over on calories since day 1, and even then I didn't go over by much.

SwedishKaz · 31/08/2012 08:33

'Morning. Can I join your thread please? I have been using MFP since Monday and I love it!
I have lost weight before on my own, but in the last six years I just seem to have lost my motivation! I start eating healthy, I loose weight and then I get bored after a week or so.
This time, I feel that "enough is enough". It's now or never! I need to shift that extra weight (about 2 stone).

My MFP name is KajsaRedman - feel free to add me! I need all the support I can get.

thank you.

Emandlu · 31/08/2012 10:17

I've lost 4lb this week! I'm really pleased. I think most of it is probably water but nevertheless it is 4lb I'm not carrying around with me Smile

RGPargy · 31/08/2012 14:02

Welcome SwedishKaz! Good luck with your journey! I tend not to be so active on here but more active on the MFP app lol. Feel free to add. Same name as here. :)

Emandlu - well done on the 4lbs!

Been good so far this week (since Tuesday lol) and because of this I am feeling like I need to eat a nice sticky bun or something to reward myself. I know I shouldn't (and i know i wont) but i do have a very strong urge atm to eat something sweet. ARGH! Nightmare! Perhaps a hot choc from the vending machine will sort me out...... Hmm

Weigh day on Monday. Erk!!

sparkleshine · 31/08/2012 18:07

Well I've posted pics on MFP success stories forum. Wasn't sure if I could do it but thought it would give me the boost I need to get myself motivated again and back into the swing of things. I'm so determined not to be that old me again! My plan cinnamon...actually don't have one. I think posting pics has helped. I do want to get to my goal of 7 1/2 stone total loss, so not far off. Still gonna log daily. If I don't I know it's gonna be my downfall.

Welcome swedishkaz :) Good luck with MFP. Hope you lose that 2 stone in no time.
well done emandlu on your first weight loss :)

welcome back niceup great news about the jeans!

MonsterBookOfTysons · 31/08/2012 19:03

I am on holiday, back tomorrow, so bloated from beer, cant wait to get back to normal, sit ups, swimming and stepper here i come :o

jchocchip · 01/09/2012 10:53

Hello everyone. dh's birthday today and I'm going to have a day off!! Back to it properly on Monday, must get in the habit of weightraining to tighten up my wobbly bits, then I will try and break my plateau. Not too worried, but would like to lose at least a stone by Christmas, I'm sure I can do that if I put my mind to it!
