Hello :) Glad to hear things going well for everyone - and hello to all you newbies! Have added some of you - please feel free to add me if I've missed anyone -am not a stalker Wink!! I find it difficult to find time to log in on MFP as well as on here when all kids home!

Am trying to be good - but it's hard with the kids home as they want to snack a lot more so I do too!

aliciaflorrick · 06/08/2012 09:47

Hello to all, well done on all weight loss and welcome to those just starting their journey.

With regard to exercise DVDs have you checked out the fitness channels on Sky I taped the Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30 off that (never even watched it, but I taped it) and I've had a few pilates/yoga 30 min exercise sessions from it. My problem is I never exercise, I'm here alone with the DCs, work full time from home so am always at my desk, the only exercise I get every day is walking the dog and that's about it. Still, I'm losing weight slowly but surely so I can't complain.

ineedsomepeaceandquiet · 06/08/2012 11:22

I have just joined this as jeans too tight (zip broke!) lfbrady10

PinkCustard · 06/08/2012 13:17

Hello! I find for me exercise really is the main thing helping me stick with it, especially when it equates to actual calories on MFP. I've attempted to just diet before and always give up, but I'm really enjoying the exercise now and it stops me sitting round in the evening snacking because I'm out exercising!

Having said that, it's only week 3 for me since I joined the gym, but I've done 3-4 classes every week since then. Trying a new class tonight and my exercise partner has backed out so I'll be braving it alone Eek!!

Groovee · 06/08/2012 16:31

Are the sky fitness channels on Virgin? I have fibromyalgia but finding it hard to move just now and need something to do that's gentle.

Elainey1609 · 06/08/2012 16:57

HI ya everyone
well done on the success stories im hearing.
i cant get out much at the mo to do exercise as im a carer, but im using wii fit and siome dvds, must say the ministry of sound pump it up one seem to be my favorite, as its more like an aerobics class and i love the soundtrack. i tried the biggesst loser one, but i just get bored with it.

i lost 1.5 lbs this week, so slowing down, just hoping im not going to plateau

Groovee im a carer for my mum who has fibromyalgia, so i understand the difficulties, she i strugling at the moment but she really manages to do wii fit, and seems to enjoy it, or she was given some pregnancy exercise dvd, and they are uch more gengtle she copes with this.

keep going everyone with the great work

OneTwoOrThree · 06/08/2012 21:13

I've not been around much recently on this thread - haven't even managed to read, let along write - RL getting in the way!

Still logging and progressing. Now at pre DC1 weight (loss of 28lb in 17 weeks). Got about another stone to lose and would love to be there by mid Oct.

Will try and catch up on everyone's news... In the meantime all newbies feel free to add me (same name as here).....

RGPargy · 06/08/2012 21:56

Hi everyone :)

Well done on losses this week. I finally have started losing again - probably something to do with actually trying to lose weight - and have lost 4.2lb this week! w00p w00p!!! :o I am thrilled, especially as i think i had a mini TOM yesterday too, which seems to have mysteriously disappeared again (hoorah!!). Perhaps i should thank my mirena for that one! Hmm

Any newbies, please feel free to add me on MFP. Same name as here. :o

cinnamongreyhound · 06/08/2012 23:58

Wow! Everyone is doing so well at the moment.

I know I've said it before but I'm so glad I started the c25k plan, you just need 35-40 mins 3 times a week to be able to go out and run and it really works. A friend of mine is doing it since I had great success and she has managed to get a second hand treadmill and is doing it at home :). My mum has done every exercise DVD/Video there is going and always ends up back with Rosemary Connelly!

I sent my wedding and engagement rings off yesterday to have them resized and although it feels strange not to have them I will glad to stop having to worry about losing them. I have gone down two sizes which is apparently 6mm, quite a bit from a finger I reckon.

aliciaflorrick · 07/08/2012 09:10

Cinnamon I knew I had to start losing weight when I couldn't get my wedding ring off my finger, a couple of years ago it used to slide around.

Official weighing in day today and I've managed to lose all the holiday extra weight I gained and be about half a kilo less than I was before I went on holiday. I tried my white trousers that I couldn't get into which started me off on the weight loss and I can get into them comfortably now, I'd say they were just a little tight across the top of my thighs and bottom of my bum, but another couple of weeks and they will be great. Of course by then summer will have finished and I won't have the opportunity to wear them.

I don't know if the Fitness Channels are on Virgin because I just have Sky but if you do some channel surfing you might find them, they are back to back exercise videos. Yoga, Pilates, Zumba lots of different things.

cinnamongreyhound · 07/08/2012 09:25

aliciaflorrick I was 100Kg when I got married so mine have been loose since I had ds1 as I lost weight when I was pregnant and even when I started losing in November I was only 95Kg so hadn't made it back to that! Glad you have made it back into your white trousers and well done for losing your holiday gain :)

bexsybooboo · 07/08/2012 09:49

OP posts:
cinnamongreyhound · 07/08/2012 14:02

Welcome back bexsybooboo, good to see you back. Sounds like you are making a positive start to normality. Hope work isn't too horrible when you back tomorrow :)

bexsybooboo · 07/08/2012 14:24

Holiday was great. Turkey had heatwave our first week but was just bearable 2nd week normal temp for turkey. Soaked up the sun and can honestly say proper relaxed Grin

Am definitely up for MFP so roll on tomorrow Smile

Groovee · 07/08/2012 16:31

Well done on the losses ladies. Its the Edinburgh Festival just now and gorgeous weather so took the kids out and OMG I've walked over 6 miles today. My legs feel like they may fall off. But I was very good, just a salad in Maccy D's. So treated myself to an ice cream at the mound.

Goingunderfast · 07/08/2012 16:51

Bexyboo where about did you go we are off september and its been years! ten plus easy since I've been! so forgotten what to expect lol glad you had a great time.

bexsybooboo · 07/08/2012 17:18

goingunderfast we went to Icmeler. Very pretty/beautiful but not loud. Enough to do and see with plenty of restaurants/bars.

Brilliant value for money also especially if a family going Smile

We last went 15 years ago but to Gumbet and fell in love with Turkey then.

We have booked next years today and trying somewhere different - Menorca never been before but will be nice with the short flight and transfer Smile I am not a good flyer more take off and landing but 4 hours is a lifetime to someone like me and then a 2-2.5 hour transfer. I was very nearly a nervous wreck lol Grin

MackerelOfFact · 07/08/2012 17:20

Hello all! Glad to see everyone is doing so well.

I am sulking at bit at the moment as I seem to have suddenly gained over 2lbs this week for no obvious reason and it is refusing to shift. Hmm I was really confident I could make it to 2 stone before I go on holiday next Friday, but now I'm not so sure I can as I will need to lose 4lbs before then.

Am still enjoying the novelty of wearing size 12 but it's a weird psychological shift going from wearing clothes that were falling off me to clothes that feel snug again. I suddenly feel like I've lost nothing IYKWIM. And I've already got my eye on size 10 but realistically that's another stone away, at least.

Goingunderfast · 07/08/2012 22:45

Bexy looking forward to holiday but not keeping dd entertained as you said long transfer and flight just hoping that as its night she will sleep. Hoping to lose a stone for holiday but had three weeks plateau! Have 6 weeks to try and push it Wink

Goingunderfast · 07/08/2012 22:48

Mackeraloffact you may surprise your self as i had a week where i had thought i did great and lost a pound. the next week had done ok food wise but lost three!! Fingers crossed for you hun. X

bexsybooboo · 08/08/2012 07:04

Weighed this morning to check out the damage from not weighing for a month and also the 2 week holiday. Have put on 5ibs Blush.

Best get restarted on MFP and see how quick I bump that off Smile

wheredidiputit · 08/08/2012 07:55

Oh well. But at least you had a good holiday.

RGPargy · 08/08/2012 08:25

Hi everyone. Grin

Off to the gym this morning before I am off on my jollies for a long weekend. I don't expect I will be good foodwise or indeed alcohol wise but I will at least try a little to limit the damage I will definitely most likely do! Will still be logging on too as I'm still in the uk and there's no way im losing my 225 day marker - again!! Lol!!

Went out for pre holiday drinks last night and now I have that horrible wine-mouth. Yuck!! I suppose that's what I get for downing 4 very large glasses of cheap house plonk! Blush

Have a good day all Grin

MommyUpNorth · 08/08/2012 08:36

Have a great time away RG.

Goingunderfast I was the same this week... on the days it was going really well I actually gained a bit, but then after official weigh in day I hurt something in my neck so couldn't do my normal exercise and today I've dropped about half a pound again! Confused

I suppose it all adds up somehow in the end. I've just done a bit of pilates this morning as I need to rest the shoulder and neck. Really wanting to get onto the ripped in 30 which arrived yesterday, but DH advised against it! Will be good and wait until later in the week. I don't ever remember being so excited about doing more exercise! Grin
