Hello everyone, not been on here for a while though I am back in the swing of logging everything on mfp. A friend from work has joined and made a really good start. Some days I've been shocked at the amount of chocolate I've had - will put it down to totm and try and cut out the milk variety.

Eeek, manic week!! Have started as a Bodyshop consultant and had a party at mine yesterday, managed to make target sales but ate 1/2 a bag of popcorn while placing the order. I'm supposed to be increasing my calories so wasn't too worried and it was after midnight when I went to be so didn't log it or close yesterdays diary. I am now 9st 9 so very happy, with a little leaway to gain while I sort out a good level to maintain. Must crack down on eating more and not just more junk!!

Well done all those losing and welcome anyone new, feel free to add me on mfp same name as here.

hazeldog · 25/07/2012 22:56

I've been using this app for a week or two and it seems to be working! Got some baby weight to shed but can't do vigorous excersize as have terrible back and sciatica so I do 10000 steps and 2000 net calories a day. Finding mfp a really good way of keeping track. I'm not weighing myself until I can fit into a size 14 though its too depressing. Plus I'm built like a brick shithouse so 12-13 stone is a healthy weight for me. Reached 16 st after last pregnancy due to undiagnosed thyroid problem. Don't think I'm quite there this time but I'm only interested in getting back to being healthy and active. Not into target weights or sizes.

Groovee · 25/07/2012 23:33

Day 4 and doing ok... Can't eat my full calories but doing ok xx

karatekimmi · 26/07/2012 07:50

Lost 2lb today, so half a stone over all so far! Yeah!

I was going to do the c25k and started with the first podcast (NHS) but after the first walking break decide to not stop running an managed a slow plod for the whole 20 mins. Had another 30 minute run yesterday and body parts don't ache as much this morning! I've got mi coach (the adidas one) and have downloaded a training plan onto that which seems
achievable.

Food wise the focus has been 5 a day and I've been doing really well, instead of the usual cut out crap plan.

I'll try to add some of you bit i katatekimmi on mfp feel free to add me!

wheredidiputit · 26/07/2012 08:38

I've not been on for a while.

But I have lost 12lb in six weeks and 2inches of my waist. I'm struggled a bit with exercise as I have strained my tendons in my knee (when I fell over my 3yr old) so when I do any my leg is burning with pain. so i'm doing a little bit as often as possible. I do at least an hour of walking a day.

tostaky · 27/07/2012 06:16

oh no.... i have gained!!! ok, only 0.3kg which is nothing, but still, those 0.3kg extra have been here for a few days so it is not fluctuation...
im generally good especially that i dont log my normal activities such as pushing a pushchair and such (unless i did it for a long period) so im a it :-(

Also, i can totally relate to whoever says it is really hard to eat enough protein... that is my problem too!!! As an ex-veggie i could happily spend the rest of my lfe without meat....

baby's crying bye bye!!

MackerelOfFact · 27/07/2012 09:58

Not been on here for ages as was getting miserable fluctuating over the same 5lbs, but today I have finally broken through the barrier and am actually losing again! Phew. It's taken since the beginning of July and was losing the will to live a little bit, but am finally going in the right bloody direction. Grin

It has put me behind a bit on my target though. I just hope every pound isn't going to be such a slog from here on in.

ihatethecold · 27/07/2012 12:32

Well ive just done ripped in30 DVD. I much prefer it to 30day shred!

I actually am past caring if I lose weight as long as I look alright in my Bikini in oct when I go on my holsWink

cinnamongreyhound · 28/07/2012 14:49

Well done karatekimmi and wheredidiputit!'

I gain most months tostaky I've put on 0.9kg in 3 days as its my totm. If you're still doing the right things it'll come of again. I find protein at lunch hard so often go with 0% Greek yoghurt with my fruit to help increase it.

Well done mackeraloffact for persisting, it's horrible to get stuck at a point!!

I'm really enjoying my running at the moment which is great!!

Elainey1609 · 28/07/2012 17:49

Well done for ur weight loss, you will look great for holiday

jchocchip · 28/07/2012 17:59

Don't seem to be losing at the moment but bought some clothes in the sales and had to take them back because they were too big :) Something must be happening should really do my measurements again.

OP posts:
MackerelOfFact · 29/07/2012 08:06

jchocchip I hit the sales yesterday too. I was a 16/18, thought I was probably a 14/16 now.... but oh no, size 12 is fitting me perfectly! Fuck me, I wasn't expecting that at all! I've never been under a 14. It was the most enjoyable shopping trip in years! Well done, it's such a great feeling.

jchocchip · 29/07/2012 08:58

well done mackerel :) Its great isn't it. I seem to be comfortably in a 20 now (started at 26/28) but keep picking up the big sizes out of habit. Seem to have lost lots from my legs/bum, even though the scale is stuck. I was last a size 12 when I started secondary school aged 11, don't think I'll ever see that size again, as I'm 5'10...

OP posts:
humptyhump · 29/07/2012 09:00

Hi, joined mfp yesterday so thought I'd join in on here, am currently 10stone and a size 12-14 hoping to lose a stone. I did the clare nasir bootcamp workout last night, my ass is very sore!

humptyhump · 29/07/2012 09:04

I should add I've lost around a stone from just walking around but its this last stone I'm struggling with!
What kind of calorie goal do you think I should be aiming for to lose weight as quickly as possible safely

Groovee · 29/07/2012 10:28

Lost 2lb for my first week. Very happy with a loss. Finding it easier to use now I understand the app. Do need to menu plan I think though.

aliciaflorrick · 29/07/2012 10:46

Hello all, back from my hols now. As I guessed I would I did put on weight while away but only half a kilo and I'm possibly on track to get back to my pre-holiday weight by official weighing and recording day of Tuesday, so that gain won't even be noted on MFP.

Hello to new members of the thread, feel free to add me on MFP I'm nw2305.

Mackeral congratulations on being a size 12 that must have been a really lovely feeling for you.

sparkleshine · 29/07/2012 21:11

Hi all
Welcome to the newbie MFP memebers :)
Well done to those that have lost in the past few days :)
Chocc and mackerel... That's great you have managed to get a smaller size, it feels so good doesn't it? Can't wait to get myself into a comfortable 14 though feels like its taking forever now

Had my sons christening today so forgot to weigh myself. That's 2 weeks I haven't weighed. But I feel great! The compliments I got from family I haven't seen for a while was such a boost to my confidence :)
I did go well over but I had an excuse!

RGPargy · 29/07/2012 21:41

hi girls, just bookmarking. I've had my "fun" now and the wagon beckons very loudly so will be hopping back on tomorrow.

Welcome newbies - feel free to add me - same name as here.

Will be catching up with you and keeping up with you all tomorrow! :)

cinnamongreyhound · 29/07/2012 22:14

That's great about your clothes jchocchip and MackrelOfFact, lovely feeling!

Welcome humptyhump.

That's fab for being on hols aliciaflorrick!

You have done so well sparkleshine, a size 14 will come before you know it! Fab that got lots of good comments and has a lovely Christening. We are not religious but wish I'd had some kind of naming ceremony for my boys, feel we've missed out somehow.

sparkleshine · 30/07/2012 09:31

cinnamon - my cousin and his wife are having a naming ceremony for their daughter. It's never too late. A work friend of mine had all her 4 kids done at the same time and the oldest was 15.

welcome humptyhump :)

Well a new week and a new start for me. I am seriously going to make an effort now like I did at the start 11 months ago. I seem to be eating more now my allowance is 1200, than when it was 1600!
My goal was 5 stone in the first year and I've passed that so just another 1 1/2 stone to go (at least). My only problem is the bingo wings won't go and my yucky saggy belly which I hate. I'm also gonna increase my daily exercise!

sparklemummy on MFP

EightToSixer · 30/07/2012 09:46

Wow, sparkle shine, that's inspirational! Well done.

Welcome o the newbies, if anyone wants to add me I'm wonderboy74 on MFP.

I've lost another kg so 5.5 so far. I'm glad the daily cardio is beginning to pay off. I have so many many more kgs to lose!
