Great day at the gym today. :o

Not so good day re food but i am endeavouring to get back on track on Monday, and so does DP, which is a great help (he does kickboxing about 3/4 times a week). DD is in a dance show tomorrow so i doubt i'll have a chance to eat "properly" (i.e. low carb) as all that will be available is a cafe type thing.

Feeling much more positive today, thanks to my spurt in spin and pump this morning and a good chinwag with a good friend. Sorry for being down in the dumps lately and thanx for listening. :)

LollipopViolet · 07/07/2012 22:49

RGP, I'm stupidly excited about the gym tomorrow, even though I have to get a bus and there's about 2 buses an hour here on a Sunday.

But, it's the gym. And I like the gym. I like lifting weights.

I'm sort of making peace with the treadmill - although I WILL get my mile down below 15 minutes!

Now, if I could go around smacking those who don't put the weights away with a 20kg plate, it'd be great Grin

I'm joking about the last part btw! sort of

RGPargy · 07/07/2012 22:56

Oh LPV it's very annoying when people dont put weights away!!! Hope you have a great time tomorrow at the gym. Not going tomorrow because of DD's show but will be back on it on Monday (although we are all going out for lunch for someone's birthday on Monday) so hoping to be in the right frame of mind. :)

LollipopViolet · 07/07/2012 23:10

I've just managed to get a lift to the gym tomorrow - no excuse for not going now. I'll have to get home myself but that should be easy-ish :)

Weirdly enough, my bedroom is a tip (according to parents whom I still ive with...) but at the gym, I can't stand things not being where they should be or people leaving big plates on the bars in the weight room. It's annoying.

LollipopViolet · 08/07/2012 13:30

Well, I've been bad today - and after a gym visit too

Footlong Subway - ooops, thought chicken and bacon was healthy, according to MFP, no, it isn't.

I've logged dinner already, and even taking my exercise into account, I have 14 calories left (I also logged any drinks I'm planning to have that aren't water). Oh well, tomorrow is a new day.

Could be worse, could be fish and chips like I'd sometimes have for lunch in the bad old days.

On the plus side, I can now squat 30kgs - almost the amount I need to lose.

It's HEAVY! Can't believe I'm carrying that around with me all the time. Still, it'll be gone eventually.

BehindLockNumberNine · 08/07/2012 15:32

Lollipop, you make me laugh, you have a wonderful way of writing Smile

I personally have not yet made friends with the gym. At the moment my main exercise comes from walking the dog. Do the odd bit of cycling and play badminton occasionally.
Have a new swimming costume, not yet brave enough to wear it but when I do I fancy going to water aerobics...

twinkle183 · 08/07/2012 20:27

Hello ladies....

Just wanted to shout it from the roof tops that I smashed my 5k run yesterday and completed it by 29.37 whoop, I have never ran that fast in my life!! Am starting to enjoy running again.... Smile. I know I keep saying it but going to start month 2 of insanity don't have much choice as dh is stealing month 1 and taking it to work with him Shock]! He has a marathon in September and think it will help Hmm

Shame I can't get on top of my food... It's always my issue... Need to control my sweet tooth and make better decisions! Wish I could wave a magic wand and sort all my demons out!!! Wink

Well hope everyone is doing okay.... Shall catch up with posts later! Have a 4000 word essay hanging over my head and have dcs to put to bed!! Hey ho Wink

RGPargy · 08/07/2012 22:39

Wow fabulous twinkle, well bloody done!!! I can't even run for a bus, let alone run 5k!! Good on ya!! Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 08/07/2012 22:53

Hope you enjoyed the gym LollipopViolet!

How was your dd's show RGPargy? Hope you managed to eat reasonably well.

Fantastic Twinkle183! I managed my first sub 30 min 5k about 2 weeks ago and it was a great feeling. I did te c25k in January so finished it mid march and took me all this time to do 5k in 30 mins running so I know how you feel. Good luck with insanity, not sure I'd give it a go!

Had a lovely weekend, pretty good eating and a yummy frappacino as a treat. Still undecided about goal weight and whether to maintain how I'm in the 9st bracket but I'll just keep plodding on and see how I feel! Mainly worried about increasing calories and slipping back into old habits.

ihatethecold · 09/07/2012 11:43

im starting to feel a bit disillusioned. ive been doing this mfp for 4 weeks now and ive lost about 1 lbs.
starting to wonder what the point is!

i must admit i struggle to stay within my allowance of 1200. i end up having about 1350 a day. surely i would be seeing some weight going off by now?

twinkle183 · 09/07/2012 13:19

ihatethecold am sorry that your having a struggle!!! We can honestly say we have all been there!!! Hmm I have been fluctuating for a while now but am so determined to get it off that I have given myself a stiff talking to..... Grin

How much water are you drinking?? Before the stagnant stage I was drinking at least 2 litres a day but on exercise days I doubled it!! I have now restarted it as I think water is the key...

Don't give up it will shift it you need to just mix it up!! Xxxx

MonsterBookOfTysons · 09/07/2012 13:43

ihatethecold I agree with sparkle, I am making an effort to up my water, started yesterday and feel healthier for it already :)

ihatethecold · 09/07/2012 13:58

the thing is. i am constantly weeing. esp at night. drives me crazy. the thought of having more water Hmm

EightToSixer · 09/07/2012 14:11

Wow twinkle, well done on the run. DD and I are going to start walking in the evenings for exercise. I've installed run keeper on my phone to spur us on, but it'll be a while before I'm even walking 5k, let alone running it :-)
Thanks for the supportive comments on the MFP app too :)

Wee-ing! I'm with you ihatethecold! All bloody night and our toilet is downstairs so I have to wake up enough to not kill myself going down and back up the stairs, I have considered catheterisation :-)

Elefant1 · 09/07/2012 14:17

Hi, I have just started to use MFP so please can I join you and ask a question? I did level 1 of the 30 day shread today and I can't work out what to log it as, anyone have any idea?

ihatethecold · 09/07/2012 15:36

Elephant. Good luck walking tomorow! Grin
Im still suffering from fridayBlush

twinkle183 · 09/07/2012 16:11

Thanks girls....

ihatethecold the weeing does eventually slow down once your body is use to being hydrated!! Try and stop drinking anything at least 2 hrs before bed and see if that helps??? Let me know if that works.... Wink

Am feeling good after doing insanity month 2 although it nearly killed me... It's true interval training is the way forward and looking at Shaunn Ts muscles while doing does help slightly.... Lol

Off for a well earned cup of tea with skimmed milk... New me here I come!!! Lol

EightToSixer · 09/07/2012 20:03

I've lost 2kgs this week, very happy with that after a gain last week. 7 weeks today till our trip of a lifetime to Florida, I want to be thinner and fitter to deal with the heat and being on my feet all day.
DD (9) has decided to be my other fitness pal and has decided that she and I will exercise together every night for the seven weeks, either a walk, wii Zumba or Just Dance. We did a 40 minute fast walk today and I feel much better forint. Just got to keep the motivation for 7 weeks! DD has made a chart with seven weeks on and we have to tick each day we have done exercise. Hopefully it'll do us both a bit of good, she is not overweight, but has got lazy recently and prefers to sit and read than going outside so the fresh air and exercise will do her good too!

cinnamongreyhound · 09/07/2012 20:25

I think it depends how much you have to lose ihatethecold? 1350 is still pretty low but if you're not very active and don't have loads to lose your bmr will be pretty low. I also agree about drinking plenty and also perhaps look at what type of food you're making up your calories with.

Welcome elefant1, sorry cant help on 30 day shred but I'm surprised someone hasn't already put it into the database so perhaps try searching differently.

Well done EightToSixer, 2Kg's is great!!! And well done on getting more active :).

Been out for dss's birthday tonight and it was lovely but I'm really amazed at how little I can eat now! Was totally stuffed and left over half of my meal, would have eaten it all and had pudding 8 months ago. The nice thing is I don't feel deprived. Plus we walked there and back so another 30 mins to add onto my walking for the day :)

ihatethecold · 09/07/2012 20:29

I don't have lots to lose. About 10lbs would be good.
I do eat more protein than carbs.
But my sugar seems to be high. From fruit and milk. Plus the odd piece of chocolateBlush

MonsterBookOfTysons · 09/07/2012 20:30

ihatethecold I am on my last 13 lbs and it is not shifting, I feel your pain!
Just keep with it, I find having a 'naughty' day actually kicks my body into losing again :)

cinnamongreyhound · 09/07/2012 20:47

Dh swears by a cheat day MonsterBookOfTysons!

MonsterBookOfTysons · 09/07/2012 20:49

So do I cinnamon, I haven't had one for a while, today I haven't stopped eating and am still under cals :o

ihatethecold · 09/07/2012 20:58

How have you eaten all day but still have cals left over????

aliciaflorrick · 10/07/2012 06:29

Stoopid diet, I've been fluctuating with my weight all week and today on official weigh in day I've gained. Am off on holiday today so I expect I'll gain some more, been on the wagon since I started this, but will be in an all inclusive so it would be rude not to take what was offered.

Think this last couple of kilos are going to be hard to shift anyhow, it's the weight I gained when I had my coil fitted, I prefer to think its hormonal rather than greed.
