cinnamon you don't know about pop cakes? They'd be a great thing to make with your mindees. I bought a very handy pop cake maker from Lakeland Plastic and some lollipop sticks. It seems to be just a basic sponge mixture, but the little balls of sponge only take 4 minutes to cook so fast results for little kids. Then you pop them onto a lolly stick and let the DCs decorate them like crazy. Each batch of cake mix makes about 30 cake pops so at the moment I am showing extreme resolve by not scoffing the lot every time I walk past the fridge - that fact that I've only had one and that was just to see what they're like is amazing. I searched on MFP to see if they were on it and they are. I'm using a listing that has them at about 170 calories but that's to put me off eating them, I don't believe they're that at all, they're one teaspoon of cake mixture and a very thin layer of melted chocolate to decorate them. It's going to be my rainy day activity for the school holidays (so I'm expecting lots of cake hanging around this summer).

After not losing anything all week I've suddenly dropped 2.6lbs in the space of a day. Grin My BMI is now 3 points lower than it was when I started, meaning I am now simply overweight and not obese! Five more BMI points and I'll be within the normal range, for the first time ever in my adult life. (I know BMI is controversial but I like it as a guide, otherwise I'll end up kidding myself).

Regarding clothes, thanks for sharing your experiences cinnamongreyhound and tostaky. I really do need some new tops for work anyway so I guess I'll get a few stretchy ones to last me through 'summer' (!) in a size 14. Cardigans etc will be fine and trousers are OK really with a belt for the time being. I'd love a new summer jacket too but I hopefully won't be able to wear in next year, so would be a bit of a waste.

The last few days I've been drinking around 4 litres of water a day between 8.30 and 5.30. A little excessive perhaps but it really seems to have made a difference to my weight loss this week.

Right that's it. I'm going to make a conscious effort this week with the water.

LollipopViolet · 06/07/2012 13:12

Sorry everyone, had a manic few days!

Have put on 2lb as it's my time of the month, but I don't log that as going on because it happens every month without fail.

Still going to the gym - although not today as it's horrible weather and I've already been to the jobcentre today so that's enough getting wet for me thank you!

brighthair · 06/07/2012 13:28

Hm no I got that wrong! 800 weekly under ht I should be so about 100 average a day unde my goal

ihatethecold · 06/07/2012 15:06

Does anyone know what to log the shred DVD. I think the mfp is saying I've burnt more calls than I think?

I've put it as high impact aerobics.
What does anyone else log it as?

Thanks Smile

cinnamongreyhound · 06/07/2012 16:08

Ok, nothin to do with mfp other than it makes me want to eat! My baby is going into year 1 next year, he's doing very well and is going to be in the year 1 and 2 mixed class. I should be really pleased but I feel sad! He won't be with most of his friends, will have half his class he doesn't know and will presumably be pushed quite hard to keep up. Irrational mummy I know but really could cry right now :(

ihatethecold · 06/07/2012 16:39

They do this in most school now. He will be fine.
You're little boy will make more friends Smile
He will still be able to play with his old mates at break and lunchtime or after school !
Don't worry

Feckbox · 06/07/2012 23:05

how much weight have y'all lost?

MonsterBookOfTysons · 06/07/2012 23:17

Cinnamon that would make me sad too, but dc are very resiliant and he will make more friends. :)
Hi feckbox, are you thinking of joining mfp :)

RGPargy · 06/07/2012 23:20

Well i heard back about the cookies. I was told that although most of the managers liked the cookies, they wouldn't be going ahead with them because didn't have a place for them in their catering department at the moment. Wish they'd told me that before i baked 4 dozen of the buggers!!! Hmm

Off to the gym tomorrow for spin and pump (hooooorayyyy!!!). Is it really sad to be excited about the gym?? Hmm Looking forward to those endorphins kicking in! :o

Feckbox · 06/07/2012 23:28

monster I've been on it for about 9 months and have lost about a stone but it's very stop start. I just get overwhelmed with cravings every few weeks and regain some of what I have lost. I have found this to be a problem with diets all of my life

MonsterBookOfTysons · 06/07/2012 23:36

Feckbox I have lost 26lbs so far, another 13 to go till I am at goal weight of 130lbs.
I am also struggling on being good, today I ate fruit and veg and did really well, then dh got me a beer and a wispa, then I ate a second wispa Hmm I am annoyed at myself for that one :o
I am so desperate to get into the 9st something lb part of my scales :)

RG I am sorry, they must of known that before the taste testing, what pita's!
YANBU about being excited to be going the gym, I am envious, I was just about to join the gym part of my leisure membership when I lost my car, now I am waiting till I can get there again :o

Feckbox · 06/07/2012 23:39

well done Monster.

I have been on more MN diet treads over the past ten years than I care to remember. It really depresses me the way they are all the same really - enthusiastic start , ending with people just falling off the thread/ wagon Sad

bexsybooboo · 07/07/2012 08:27

RG well all I can say is 'muppets' Wink they should have told you that. And it's a loss to their catering line Grin

Spin and pump a great combination and no not sad as I am on count down til Monday when it's my pump class Grin

Well 2ibs off finally after about 6 weeks, fingers crossed it has started moving again but we will see.

My new target for next week is to aim to drink water throughout the days as I have really not been drinking any water apart from in my tea and coffee Blush

Well done on everyone's commitment, exercise burns and losses it's nice to pop by and read these updates Smile

cinnamongreyhound · 07/07/2012 09:06

That's rubbish about the cookies RGPargy! How can they only just have decided that?!? Why ask you to make something that they didn't have a place for in the first place!! And you're not sad to look forward to the gym!!

Feckbox I have lost 5st in 8 months, 6 of those on mfp.

Glad to hear you're moving again, here's to the new 2 and the next 2 :)

I have made it into the 9st something weight bracket!! Total loss of 5st, hurray!!

ihatethecold · 07/07/2012 10:57

cinnamongreyhound... that fecking amaazing!!!
im so impressed!

did shred yesterday for the first time in ages.. jesus, can i not walk properly today!

aliciaflorrick · 07/07/2012 11:11

Oh RG they must have known that before they asked you to make them, on the bright side at least you won't be chained to kitchen making dozens of cookies every week. I love cookies, please feel free to send them to me, also cakes, donuts, sweets and chocolate. I have an incredible sweet tooth.

Do you know today I've put weight on, this week is really weird, nothing has changed and if anything I've cut down my number of mini kit kats to one a day, but went back up into the next kilo this morning, hopefully it's just a blip and I'll be back under tomorrow.

Cinammon your weight loss is fantastic, the only other person I knew who lost that much was a friend on the Lighter Life diet, as soon as she started eating proper food she ended up bigger than when she'd started - much more sensible to control calories.

BehindLockNumberNine · 07/07/2012 11:15

Oh RG, what a bunch of muppets regarding the cookies!! They sound lovely though (the cookies, that is) and the muppets are missing out big time!

Cinnamon, you continue to be my inspiration, am in awe of your weightloss!

I have lost a further 1.9kg which takes my total to 15kg or 32lbs. In three odd months on MFP. Am thrilled!!

I noticed the other day that I was able to gently 'jog' up the stairs instead of slowly lumbering up them. I arrived in the classroom with a huge grin on my face (instead of redfaced and a bit sweaty). Fantastic feeling!!

OneTwoOrThree · 07/07/2012 13:31

RG - Leave the bastards Grin. Cookie munching thieves.

Just ordered myself a new (smaller) sports bra online. Determined to run more frequently and the old one was way to big for my new streamlined figure. Gone down two back sizes - fingers crossed its not too small.

Feckbox · 07/07/2012 15:11

Cinnamon, awesome result, really. All respect to you

karatekimmi · 07/07/2012 15:31

Glad to hear we all seem to be more positive at the minute! I think lovin and looking forward to exercise isn't sad at all and I can't wait to start running again! My 6 week check up is on Wednesday and then the trainers will be out! I am really pleased as I tried to be really healthy when pregnant and am half a stone lighter now than when I got pregnant(can't blame the baby weight as I was fat before I got pregnant!) Finding time to do it might be an issue, but yesterday I set the spare tv and DVD player up in the spare bedroom, so that's now my dance and yoga studio!! (have bought lots of fitness DVDs off eBay do there's no excuse!!)
Once the tennis is done I'm walking to sainsburys to get curry for tea. We usually have take away, so I am trying to do a healthier version. It may well still be quite high though.
I'm in awe of some of the big losses that some of you have achieved and as I have at least 3 stone to lose (I'm not setting a final goal yet, just smaller ones that aren't quite as daunting!
Hope everyone has a good weekend

RGPargy · 07/07/2012 17:31

Cinnamon - wow, that is an awesome loss!!!! GrinGrinGrin

MonsterBookOfTysons · 07/07/2012 18:41

Well done cinnamon! :o

LollipopViolet · 07/07/2012 22:04

Gym tomorrow!!! Grin

I've maintained through my period, something that is unheard of for me. I always gain but seem to have stayed the same this time.

Will weigh in officially tomorrow I think, before the gym.

Oh I am rather excited - the weight training is working as I have teeny tiny bicep muscles visible within my flabby arms now! :)
