Hurrah! 2.5 pounds off this week! 3.5 in total over two weeks...

mutley1 · 14/06/2012 19:55

I think the thing is that if you don't eat you body will go into starvation mode and your metabolic rate will slow down. Of course everyone has days when they don't feel well and don't eat much but most of the time if you follow the menu plans you will be eating the right amount. Remember portion sizes though

03angels · 14/06/2012 20:39

Well done everybody Grin

Pavla · 14/06/2012 20:59

I've been at Target for nearly five years now and, thanks to going to group virtually every week since, I've never been out of it. :) I only ever did Green days....whoever thought eating pasta and potatoes would result in losing weight!!? Nowadays I just watch what I eat on about 3 days of the week and eat what I want the rest...although my eating habits are definitely much more healthy than it was pre-SW! :) Good luck on your weightloss journey ladies.

newmum001 · 14/06/2012 20:59

Oooh ive lost 5lbs in a week! Well done to everyone else too! X

CaesarSaladNoDressing · 14/06/2012 21:20

Well done everyone!

Lost 2.5 last week Smile Smile

I need to do more exercise to shift much more than that per week as I was really good all week and had a few free days.

But am pleased Grin

debs39 · 14/06/2012 22:12

wheredidiputit re your question...how you eat that much food???? I too thought the same but realised that my usual eating habits were smaller meals but more rubbish consumed on the hoof and forgotten about...such as a sneaky slice of ham, cracker, a few crisps, some tomato ketchup, some salad dressing, bite of kids' sausage roll etc etc..so more calories actually consumed but quantity and quality of food wasn't as good.... : ) Do please have a stab at this diet andwhat is the worst that can happen??? You put on a few pounds??? (which i very much doubt ) If you are scared of extra easy then try and do red or green days : ) Hop on board the bus with us!!

mutley1 · 16/06/2012 22:12

Does anyone know what the syn value of no added sugar squash?

newmum001 · 16/06/2012 22:18

Mutley just checked the online syn guide and from the looks of it all no added sugar squash is free on ee. Not sure for red/green though.

newmum001 · 17/06/2012 17:19

Quick question if anyones around. Going to harvester tonight for something to eat, i'll have a baked potato and veg with whatever i order but whats best to have meat wise? I thought probably chicken with skin removed but i really dont fancy chicken. What else could i have thats low syn/no syn or should i just not worry about it for one night? X

mickala23 · 21/06/2012 13:54

hi i joined sw 4 weeks ago i lost 5lbs in the first week 5lbs in the second week 3 and a half in the third week but this week i put on half a lb. i went to pizza express with a friend and thought id treat myself for loosing the weight i used alot of syns probably more than i should have for the week but carried on for the rest of the week using no syns to compensate for it however i still put on. I did drink alot of water before getting weighed could this be the reason i put on weight or is it down to the pizza express or do sometimes you put on and sometimes loose?apart from the bad meal i was really good so i dont know why i put on really

newmum001 · 21/06/2012 15:41

Mikala thats a really good weight loss so far! I dont know about the water before weigh ins but i bet that pizza express tasted amazing :D

weigh in for me tonight, fingers crossed!

nataliiek · 23/06/2012 03:27

Hi there,

Can i join in please? I joined SW on wed, so first weigh in will b 26/6, i would ideally like to lose 5/6 stone.

nataliiek · 23/06/2012 03:30

27th actually my first weigh in will b to see if i have lost anything, id be happy with 2/3lbs on my first week x i have PCOS and losing weight is always slower, and have to work harder to shift the lbs.

So far have stuck to it religiously.

ophelia275 · 24/06/2012 20:48

Is it worth trying Slimming World for someone who is not overweight but wants to lose approx 9lbs and just get rid of flab around the waist? I am currently 124 ish pounds and want to get down to 115. I am very short (5'1") and it really shows on me. I have a big waist. How much can I expect to lose per week on Slimming World?

Pavla · 24/06/2012 21:57

If you're not overweight Ophelia what about just trying some exercises that are targetted at the waist area...you could follow SW and the weight may come off other areas before your waist (if you're like me it'll come off your face and then your boobs before the midriff section starts to benefit).

carernotasaint · 29/06/2012 23:20

Sorry ive not been back on this board for a while. ive not been weighed for a few weeks but have lost over 1 stone 9 pounds now.
This week ive been measured for a new bra and ive gone from a 38 back size to a 34 back size (ive also gone from a HH cup to a JJ cup but thats what happened to me last time too. When you go down a back size you go up a cup size. And a man i dont know paid me a compliment today. He said i have beautiful hair. Will be weighed again on 11th July.

03angels · 03/07/2012 18:51

Well done carer!!! Grin glad it's goin well- and getting compliments is always an ego boost especially from a male stranger Grin
I put on 4lbs last week but havin troubles at home and this has kicked off my stomach condition Sad I will get back on it though

Angelsandcupcakes · 07/07/2012 19:33

Hi
I started sw extra easy this week. It seems easy to stick to but I'm worried that I'm eating too much fruit ? I know they say unlimited fruit and veg but is it really unlimited ? It's been 5 days and I don't think I've lost any weight 😁
Any advice or experience would be appreciated !!

Frikadellen · 07/07/2012 20:41

I didnt find this thread the other day. I started Friday and I have to admit I am finding it overwhelming.

I am wheat intolerant so finding healthy b's have been difficult and I never found fruit/veg made me feel full, Tonight I made the Chicken tikka for dinner and right now I feel lovely filled up. Got thumbs up from all of my kids to.

1gglePiggle · 07/07/2012 23:04

Anyone have any ideas what's low syn at wagamama? I had chicken firecracker with steamed rice, seemed ok but not sure if sauce loads of syns!

HollyBollyBooBoo · 08/07/2012 09:38

Hi, please may I have some advice?

Did SW years ago to great effect. Want to do it again. Single working Mum so no chance of going to a group, looked at online option. Is it worth spending 80 quid on the online membership or could I just buy the books from Amazon and get the same results?

I feel that because I've done it before I don't really need all the support etc etc and I understand the concept of the plan.

What do you think?

Frikadellen · 08/07/2012 15:57

3 days in and I admit I am struggling I feel hungry. I have never found fruit and veg fills me up so I feel like my stomach is missing something. I am not stomach growling hungry but neither do I feel satisfied or full.

I am wheat intolerant so it cuts out some things like pasta but just now I ate rice with ham cucumber sugar snap peas and I want a slice of rye I need something in my stomach that makes it work..

Is this a early get used to the diet or?? (also the kids have opened a packet of bourbons are they REALLY 14 1/2 syns per biscuit)

Bronte186 · 12/07/2012 09:38

Hi guys , do you mind if I climb aboard too ? I did SW in my 20's lost 2 stone then remained always fighting with half a stone, I was happy enough though & looked fine really, not thin not fat. ...I'm now 40 , 2 kids (3yrs & 1yr stil BF twice a day) I can't afford the class this time, taken a year off work for the kids & barely a minute to pee let alone go to class, 1.5 to 2 stone again to lose. Tried WW PP for a few months & just didn't enjoy all the pointing. So here I am trying again , alone , or with you guys if you'll help me. :)

1066cb · 12/07/2012 21:12
