carernotasaint · 25/05/2012 17:38

Well done everyone. i got weighed by nurse again last week who said i had a small gain so it seems this is how my weight loss goes. Ive lost 1 stone 4 pounds since the end of Feb. I also saw a GP last week for other reasons but while i was there i asked about my weight and she said that the amount of weight loss ive had in this amount of time was very good and completely normal. When i told her what had been going on in my slimming world class with a 5"5 member who was under 10 stone overdosing on Scan Bran to lose 7 pounds in a week, the GP said it was an unhealthy thing to do and said i had done the sensible thing in setting up weigh ins at the surgery in prep for leaving the class. It was just nice to have this confirmed by a medical proffessional. she sent me for a blood test for another problem i have and has asked them to check my thyroid as well just to be sure but she thinks my loss is a perfectly normal amount. And she wasnt too pleased to hear about what had been going on at class.

whatkungfuthat · 25/05/2012 18:38

Well done people, I forgot to post my WI last week but I've now lost a stone, yay!

StandingProud · 25/05/2012 19:27

Hi, I am new - do you mind if I join? I joined SW two years ago today - went from 13.6 down to 11.2 by November 2010, before steadily creeping back up to 12.10, all whilst going to club every week. I stopped going in February, but have managed to maintain the 12.10 since then. Now I have had enough of the strange pride I felt in maintaining. Not really keen on going back to the meetings. I think the plan is great, but got stuck in a rut of speed soup and jacket potatoes - I need inspiration and hope you can help? www.mumsnet.com/te/1.gif

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/05/2012 03:34

Carer - that's good you are doing it healthy

Not sure what scan bran is?

Kumgfu - fab well done

Standing - welcome and least you didn't gain all your weight - unlike me last year but I had very good reasons sadly :(

carernotasaint · 26/05/2012 21:55

Scan Bran is a very high fibre cracker bread thing that they sell at SW classes. Can act a bit like a laxative.

carernotasaint · 26/05/2012 21:56

And well done to kung fu too xx

madmomma · 26/05/2012 22:25

May I join? Enrolled at SW with dh today. I've never even been on a diet before (not because I haven't been overweight before). I've got 2st to lose, and dh has got 4. We're doing the extra easy. I feel quite overwhelmed by the sheer amout of fruit and veg that we've got through in one day! My fridge looks like a greengrocers! I will miss chocolate. I will miss it so much Sad

whatkungfuthat · 27/05/2012 07:53

Thanks ladies. I think its fair to say you only 'rent' scan bran, I've never tried it though as it is the work of the devil Grin

Welcome madmomma, I'm dieting with DP and it does make it so much easier if you do it together. He lost loads more than me at first but it does even out so if that happens don't worry.

MummyDoIt · 27/05/2012 12:07

Couldn't make it to WI this week but probably just as well. I went to a Ball on Friday evening (set menu so no choice) then had friends over for Sunday lunch. I was doing really well, not having the roast potatoes and I'd made a fresh fruit salad for my pudding but then one of the friends brought a triple chocolate dessert and it would have been rude to refuse it. Plus we drank far more wine than my daily Syn allowance so I suspect I would have gained at least a pound. Back on track, though, and hope to be back to where I was by this week's WI.

madmomma · 27/05/2012 14:02

Oh I'm finding this so much work. Please tell me it gets easier? My fridge is crammed with raw fruit and veg, which is brilliant, but it all takes prep doesn't it? And I'm not used to planning meals. First proper day on the plan though, so got to be kind to myself I guess. Doesn't help that dh is asleep while I'm making lunch. And I've used my 10 syns without meaning to. Ds1 was munching a blueberry muffin and left half...

03angels · 29/05/2012 17:53
