wispa I hope you're feelimg better today. Sickness is really horrible, and I agree that you just need something bland really. Perhaps a banana would ease you in gently, but I would say just eat what you fancy, really, whether carby or not.

I had 3 drinks last night, first drink in 3 weeks. I had vodka and soda (India Knight tip) with fresh lime quarters, the first one I had I had a splash of lime cordial in it, but it tasted far too sweet really, so went without. It was really nice, got a bit of sharpness from the lime, and was very refreshing. Got a bit tiddly though, am a complete lightweight now.

Just had a breakfast of bacon, scrambled egg and roasted tomatoes.

Am 10 stone 11 today, so dropped 2 lbs since yesterday (though prob just body recalibrating itself after the indian takeaway bloat).

I get porno sites following me

SeriousWispaHabit · 26/02/2012 15:12

Thanks everyone. I am feeling washed out and like everything is an effort but have a nice 11 hours at work tomorrow so need to find some energy from somewhere. Have had a banana, a bit of chicken soup and a small bowl of cous cous. Not sure about dinner. I feel like I will want something but not sure what. Making pasta and meatballs for DH and DDs and definitely don't fancy the meatballs.

GetOrfMoiiLand · 26/02/2012 16:38

Thanks kotinka for the indian carb explanation

butterflyexperience · 26/02/2012 18:18

I can I join in please?
I'm a bit confused over some of the menu planning.

Id prefer to eat eggs at lunch so can I have fruit for breakfast instead?

encyclogirl · 26/02/2012 20:14

Ok, I'm ready to do this now. I just need to get over myself and my addiction to the white stuff right?

Menu planning for tomorrow:

Scrambled eggs and bacon for brekkie.
Smoked salmon (is that ok or is it too carby) salad for lunch
Um...more fish with more salad for dinner.

I have running club tomorrow night so I think i need to eat some nuts before I go for energy. Can I have a smoothie? Is that allowed?

BornToShopForcedToWork · 26/02/2012 20:18

Just ate a slice of self-made banana bread... I know I know but I couldn't resist. I hope it didn't get me out of ketosis.

GetOrfMoiiLand · 26/02/2012 20:20

butterfly - no fruit is completely verboten (during the initial phase anyway, if you are doing serious low carb). It has got too much sugar in it and the diet will not work effectively.

Thank you Kotinka. I am devouring (no pun intended), the Idiot Proof diet book. It makes so much sense it annoys me that I haven't done this sooner. I am dreading the phase 1, as I had hideous headaches the first time I did this, but once they subsided I felt fab.

Bit confused what to do for lunch you see as I love boiled eggs for my lunch - yummy

encyclogirl · 26/02/2012 21:00

Weighing in tomorrow, I'll add my stats then. Think I'm 10'4' or thereabouts, would like to get down to 9 stone even.

QueenStromba · 26/02/2012 21:25

There's no reason why you can't have eggs for breakfast and lunch if you want to butterfly.

Is fruit forbidden forever, or just in the initial stage? I looove fruit. :(

butterflyexperience · 27/02/2012 07:05

I have no version but my own made up from several sources Blush

I thought it was bad to have too many eggs and recommended amount was 2 a day?
I lurve fruit too :)

Will read the allowed list....

butterflyexperience · 27/02/2012 07:09

How long does the induction phase last for?
Also can low carb diet start any time if day?

I've had a tea with 1 sugar this already this morning Blush

butterflyexperience · 27/02/2012 07:11

Also... (sorry for thread hogging)
When you low carbers make Indian food - what do you eat with it? Normally I would have chappati or rice

GetOrfMoiiLand · 27/02/2012 09:01

I don't much like fruit to be honest, but in the books I have read it says that you can introduce berries and melon after the first phase. I think also the first phase can last however much you want - Atkins it states 2 weeks (but that is very strict) but the India Neris diet says that you can stay on your phase 1 until you are in sight of your target weight.

I can't have coffee without sugar, so use splenda. It doesn't taste as nice as sugar, but a lot nicer than coffee without anything added at all!

I personally eat as many eggs as I like - I think the fact that you have to restrict them is a fallacy which has been disproved by modern research.

Re curry - I don't have anything on the side, or make a spinach or cabbage curry to go with the meat one.

GetOrfMoiiLand · 27/02/2012 09:03

I am depressed anyway. I am back up to 11 stone this morning and feel terribly bloated. Why? I was very good yesterday.

Breakfast - scrambled egg, roasted tomatoes, bacon, sausage
Lunch - smoked salmon, cream cheese and horseradish
Dinner - cauli curry.

Why would I put on 3lbs overnight?

I blame the bastard vodka on saturday night.

PostBellumBugsy · 27/02/2012 09:09

GetOrf, you won't have put on 3lb of fat overnight - that is impossible!!!!! It will just be water retention.
Butterfly, it would be worth looking at some low carb literature or websites to help get you started. If you have a curry, then have vegetables with it - you can't have rice or chapatis.
If you do Atkins, induction lasts 2 weeks, but alot of people stay on it for longer. You shouldn't eat any fruit during induction. Thereafter, you can introduce some low carb fruit (berries, rhubarb) but still not that much. Fruit is very sugary.
