Just ordering the book Wheat Belly for my Kindle. Who else read it?

BerylStreep · 24/02/2012 23:37

Oh fuckity fuck fuck, have been on a work night out. It was ok until a guy I don't know asked me if I was expecting.Sad I said, no, I was just a bit fat.

The same guys then left me waiting on my own for a taxi, whilst they walked off.

I feel so wobbly and shit.

BerylStreep · 24/02/2012 23:52

BTW, my essentials for the list:
Starting: 96kg Current: 89.4kg; target 80.0kg

CheerfulYank · 25/02/2012 06:02

Aw, Beryl. Those jerks!

Do I have to tell you what I weigh? Blush

FreeButtonBee · 25/02/2012 10:00

Oh BS what utter wankers. Imagine how ashamed of them their mothers would be. At least you are doing something about your weight, they will always be horrible people.

CY no need to tell us what you weigh if you'd prefer not. Why not just say how much you are losing. Main thing is to be comfortable on the thread.

Weighing in at pretty much the same as Monday - which is a bit disappointing but I am not completely with the programme yet - too many cheats this week.

Right am going for a run and then will have eggs for breakfast. Need to get some salad stuff for lunch, then am making a poncey dinner of roast partridge, game ragu and veg.

flipflopflap · 25/02/2012 10:14

Oh BerylStreep that's awful, but just think that we're all on this thread for a reason. The fact that you are addressing your weight means the only way is down from now on!

I survived a Indian night out, I'm hoping I'm still in Ketosis but I don't have any strips to tell. All I had was a spinach and cauli bhaji and a spoonful of a friends veg curry, which had a few peas carrots and cauli in but I'd not really eaten any carbs all day so I should be ok.

I'll add my weight loss to the list when I weigh myself on monday as I'm week one.

GetOrfMoiiLand · 25/02/2012 12:06

I am the same as you flip - I had a curry takeaway last night, caulif bhaji, sag paneer and some chicken tandoori. I feel incredbly bloated this morning so I don't know if there was a load of flour or whatever in it. And I have put a lb on. Never mind.

Beryl that is bloody horrible. Sad Crap like that can really stick in the mind. The horrible gits.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 25/02/2012 12:12

Beryl - They are knobs and you are gorgeous. Fact.

CheerfulYank - just do what you want to lose. No worries!

MandyT68 · 25/02/2012 15:03

Can't add to list as am on iPad (mums net sort the app out) but am 12 9 and want to be 11 7. Have low carved loads before but it never works as well as it did the first time. Had a break today (scone and wrap) but back with a vengeance now! Support really welcome.

MandyT68 · 25/02/2012 15:04

Carbed curse this app

CheerfulYank · 25/02/2012 16:46

I really should lose about 60 lbs to be at a weight I remember being really energetic and comfortable at.

Well. We seem to have no low carb food in the house. Grrr! It's shopping time. :)

flipflopflap · 25/02/2012 17:38

Oooh Sag Paneer, Yum! That's what I had in mind last night but it wasn't on the menu Sad

One thing I've noticed about LCing is that I really haven't craved anything sweet. I always would want something sugary after a meal but I've not been bothered at all. I've been got some dark chocolate in, 'incase' and haven't touched it!

CheerfulYank · 25/02/2012 17:40

I think the hardest thing for me will be not having sugary creamer in my coffee. I put in one tablespoon today instead of my usual huge dollop...sigh. Baby steps. Having tuna with a splash of rice vinegar and a little mayo now.

GetOrfMoiiLand · 25/02/2012 18:00

I don't have a sweet tooth really, but have always eaten a load of salty crap, like a whole enormous bag of doritos in one go, or mashed potato (also known as My Downfall). I could quite easily boil a whole bag of spuds, mash them with cream and butter and eat the lot.

Amazingly though I do not feel as hungry at all on this diet. I just eat 3 meals a day and nothing in between now. I used to snack an awful lot.

Today I have had

2 bacon, scrambled egg and mushrooms cooked in butter
A tin of tuna with mayonnaise and some salad leaves

For dinner I am having some smoked salmon, cream cheese and horseradish and a big bowl of mixed leaves and peppers and onion.

GetOrfMoiiLand · 25/02/2012 18:03

You can have actual cream in your coffee, cheerful, if you like, and then add some sweetener (splenda as it is called in the UK is OK I think, I don't know if it is called them same, but is sucralose as opposed to aspartame.

I bloody love sag paneer. I don't know why I was so bloated this morning, mind you I don't know if they added thickeners or whatever to the takeaway.

I am drinking loads of water which is deathly boring.

I also did 30 mins on the elliptical trainer bastard machine, and a Jillian Michaels workout.

I really, really fancy a drink.

CheerfulYank · 25/02/2012 18:15

I like the sugary flavored stuff, but may do splenda and cream if needs must. :) I had an egg with cheese this a.m. and then the aforementioned tuna...I sent DH to the store with a list so I will get romaine, sprouts, more tuna, some chicken...

I am just so tired of thinking about my body all the time IYKWIM. When I weighed less I just used to throw on whatever clothes I wanted and I looked fine. I went out all the time, hiked a lot, did whatever I wanted. Now it's all "well I look less fat in this" and before I accept any invitations I try to remember if there will be people there who only remember me as skinny. I feel like being this weight is making me shy. :( So stupid! And I have put off having a baby for awhile now because I want to lose some weight first, but I am turning 30 in May and don't want to wait much longer.

Just checking in.....

Bit of a night out last night, involving copious amounts of wine and a big platter of meze; well, it was a belated birthday celebration. But I had hardly eaten all day - I didn't have time for lunch so ended up scoffing salami out of the pack and a lump of cheese in the car on the way to pick the kids up from school (classy!).

Today I have eaten:
Breakfast - Greek yogurt/berries/almonds
Lunch - Chicken satay strips, coleslaw and salad
Dinner - marinated salmon, broccoli, cauliflower and shiratake noodles - thanks to whoever recommended them - they were peculiar, but quite nice really.

Now I am babysitting, and trying to ignore the plateful of biscuits in the kitchen. At least I won't be drinking tonight.

SeriousWispaHabit · 25/02/2012 22:12

Well I have had a rubbish 24 hours or so. I have had a really horrible gastroenteritis and spent all last night vomiting. I have managed to rehydrate with some homemade dioralyte but still feel pretty awful. I managed a bit of soup for dinner and will see how I feel tomorrow. I just don't fancy low carb stuff though - I want toast and tea.

Aww, Serious, if you are not well, just eat what your body is telling you to eat and look after yourself. Hope you feel better soon.

Kotinka - I guess I'm just getting back to the Way of Eating that I was following before Christmas. The bad habits were just creeping back one by one, but this thread is really helping me stay on the straight and narrow (er....apart for the odd night out).

Can't help on the Twitter - I'm a novice with only 7 followers.

SeriousWispaHabit · 25/02/2012 22:30

Thanks CV, I'm just worried if I start on the bread again I'll never stop. I feel so much better for no wheat and my stomach is so much flatter after only 10 days. I'll see what I can manage in the morning - maybe a small omelette or if I can't face that then a banana wouldn't be the end of the world and I probably need the potassium.

BerylStreep · 26/02/2012 09:27

Have had 2 nights on the wine, but despite that I was 88kg yesterday. Don,t want to chance weighing myself today.
Currently having my favourite brekkie; spinach and eggs zapped in the microwave with butter and cheese.

Thanks for words of condolence, the worst thing was that I don't think the guy was trying to be nasty, although I think he was very drunk.

FreeButtonBee · 26/02/2012 09:55

Hi guys - 10.12 this morning. Yay! very slowly going in the right direction.am contemplating another run - need to speed up my 5k time so was planning to do sprints. Not feeling it this morning.

Think it'll be eggs and bacon for breakfast, then going to a friend's for Sunday lunch - will have to dodge the roasties. Then a bit of salad for dinner, maybe with some chicken.

wispa hope you're feeling better. I'm afraid the onlynthing i can face after ilness is dry toast. Not sure eggs are a great idea - what about crackers? Would not be wuite so bready. Banana might be a good idea though.

BIWI · 26/02/2012 10:17

Sorry to hear you're poorly, wispa - if you can avoid the bread it would be a good idea. Make sure you keep up the fluids. Could you make some/manage some soup, perhaps?

kotinka - what's your twitter name? Am I following you already?!
