I, on the other hand, have apparently lost seven pounds, but don't feel or look a bit slimmer. Sigh. But still, seven pounds! Yay. :)

Happy Birthday, GetOrf!

What's the best 'fill you up for longer' breakfast. Despite having a bowl of porridge with soya at 8am by 10.15 i am really hungry.

QueenStromba · 03/03/2012 10:14

Eggs.

I have def stalled and am sure it's down to coffee (well, latte actually!) I can't cut it out completely but am going limit myself to one a day...honest.
Where do you all got the Ketosis stick thingies? Tinternet?

QueenStromba · 03/03/2012 11:57

Lattes have loads of lactose in them - could you switch to cream instead of milk?

OP posts:
PrincessTamTam · 03/03/2012 13:11

Have switched to full fat milk, but can't do cream in coffee - actually makes me feel sick. Will switch to far less milk tho... cappuccino?

QueenStromba · 03/03/2012 13:40

Americano with a little bit of milk would be your best bet.

Just made one for myself at home... not bad. Thanks. Smile

SeriousWispaHabit · 03/03/2012 18:20

Happy Birthday GetOrf - hope you're having a fun day.

I have resisted cakes and sandwiches while DH and the DDs munched away and I am looking forward to my tapas feast later of halloumi with chilli/lemon, chorizo in red wine, baked mushroom, rocket salad, peri peri chicken, baked camembert (celery to dip) and roasted peppers. Just need to ignore/resist the patatas bravas and the bread.

I don't seem to have lost anything this week on the scales but clothes are feeling looser so not too bothered.

vnmum · 03/03/2012 18:41

happy birthday getorf

I ended up at Harvester for my tea tonight so ordered a mixed grill. When I said I didn't want any potatoes the waitressd was quite surprised and was telling me it was included in the price. I just said "no thanks, i don't eat carbs" and that seemed to shut her up but she did give me a funny look. Oh well, i'm not bothered. I just had a side salad with it.

Seems like a very long way to go! Am finding it hard cos I can't excercise due to a broken foot that happened in November (I then put on a stone over Xmas!) It's now inflamed as I tried to do too much too soon... Aaaarrggghh, am so fed up with sitting around "resting" it. Still, as soon as physio gives go ahead I shall be on a bike or cross trainer at the gym... honest! Wink.

Has anyone tried the Atkins bars? Any good? And where do you get those Ketone sticks? Online?
Sorry for all the questions, its been ages since I've done this.

flipflopflap · 04/03/2012 10:23

I went out with a few friends last night and I'm quite sure someone ordered me a drink with normal tonic, instead of slimline. I don't know how much of an effect it will have had on my weight but probably thrown me out of ketosis. I also ate 2 chips, can't believe I stopped at 2 though!

vnmum · 04/03/2012 11:22

good restraint on the chips flip
princess i got my ketostix from lloyds pharmacy. they just sold them to me over the counter, no questions asked. i paid £5.35 for them. be warned though, they are slightly addictive Blush

Kotinka that is not possible I'm pretty sure!

AngryFeet · 04/03/2012 13:12

Just ate at harvester and had spitroast chicken and salad. Looked on the website later and it has 12.5g carbs! Bugger, they must use a marinade.

GetOrfMoiiLand · 04/03/2012 14:07

I had a lovely birthday, thank you. Smile. I was in bed however by 10 (!) as I started drinking in the afternoon and I got too tipsy, and felt sick.

I had several proseccos and kir royales, and fell off the wagon in a big way with birthday cake, a tube of pringles and toblerone.

I also had toast this morning.

Bugger! I will start again in earnest this evening. Am not weighing myself for a week.

CointreauVersial · 04/03/2012 14:33

If you can't let your hair down on your birthday and have a bit of cake and prosecco and pringles, and toblerone, then what can you do?

eleanorsmum · 04/03/2012 14:42

Just marking a place so I can read all about it laterGrin

vnmum · 04/03/2012 15:45

bugger, I just checked the Harvester website after reading Angryfeet's post and the mixed grill I had lastnight had 57g carbs!! I don't understand how. I suppose it is including the peas and tomato. I didn't eat those and I tasted the sausage and it tasted cheap so didn't eat that either as I thought it would have loads of fillers in, therefore loads of carbs. I only ate the gammon and steak so I am sure I can't have eaten 57g worth of carb. But even so, it is a lesson in eating out. I thought the harvester would be ok because it is meat and then you choose the rest but obviously not.
