Morning! JAM, sending lots of good vibes your way for the interview! Belle, yay! You're 10 something! Bet you feel great, congratulations! Dinky, wow, amazing loss! Well done and hope you're feeling better today. TDW, well done, both on your loss and your achievements in training, you're doing great. Half a pound off here, scales still showing 9 stone and a stubborn quarter of a pound! Think I may have to accept that 9 stone-ISH is good enough and settle for maintaining that. Just did a L1 6W6P. Veg soup for lunch and making a pork & potato hotpot (with pork mince) for dinner. Good luck to those still to weigh in xx

JAM sending you good luck vibes this morning, hope all goes well.

Well done everyone on the losses today, dinky that is great going & belle well done on getting through that 11st

2lb off here, I have hit the 2 stone mark which i am thrilled about, i'm halfway there now.
Next hurdle is to join belle in being 10st something again

knottyhair · 23/09/2011 11:17

LadyBuzz, that's a great result, and congratulations on losing 2 stone Smile!

Ladies, I'm touched thank you all so much for the good luck messages. Interview was OK (ish). I'm aware I blathered on a bit, during one question I was answering and then forgot what the question was. It was a tad embarrassing but the interview panel were lovely and I was given a tour of the school by the headboy and girl. They are interviewing others today and a decision will be made later on so at least i won't be worrying all weekend.

Back to the weight loss, no surprise another pound on here ladybuzz will easily beat me to the 10 stone mark. Big well done to all you other losers I'm the only gainer which I'm going to use to spur me on to greatness next week. Remind me of that next week please.

dinkystinky · 23/09/2011 14:45

Glad the interview went ok JAM - now keeping my fingers crossed for you.
Its my sister's wedding again (hindu wedding this time) on Saturday - am hoping appetite and energy levels return in time for it (went out on Wednesday with DH and all I could stomach was half a piece of chicken breast, half a glass of wine and 3 chips - not great!)...

knottyhair · 23/09/2011 14:54

JAM, glad it went OK, and as for forgetting what the question was, I've done that so many times! Let us know how you get on if you get a minute. Dinky, poor you, hope you get better for the wedding tomorrow.

I have good news and bad news. Amazingly I got the job ! Bad news - they want me to cover afternoons 3 days a week so I'll need childcare until 4.30 however they've said they are prepared to be flexible to some extent. I'll need to talk nicely to the gps this weekend to see if they can help. Also I fear I'm selling myself short as the salary is a LOT less than I was earning previously but there are a lot of positives - no stress, friendly, school hols off and it will give me something rewarding to do which I'm in desperate need of. Oh eeek! the head wanted an immediate answer but I managed to stall until monday morning. A lot of discussion with dh, gps and dcs needs to be done this weekend. But overall - YAY! Grin Grin Grin

Dinky I wish you a miraculous recovery so you can properly enjoy the wedding celebrations. You have got me lusting after chicken, chips and wine now. mmmm.

knottyhair · 23/09/2011 17:40

Yay JAM! That's fantastic!! Hope you can sort out the childcare OK. But YAY again!! Smile Smile Smile

JAM that's wonderful news, I am so happy for you Grin

Dinky hope you feel better soon,

take care and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend

BelleEnd · 23/09/2011 22:46

Hurrah for JAM!!!!!!!!!

I had some strawberry crumble in celebration of your success. Next week's gain will be all your fault :o

LadyBuzz · 24/09/2011 07:47

JAM thats brilliant news well done!

dinky enjoy the wedding, hope you are feeling better.

knottyhair · 24/09/2011 11:40

Morning! What a beautiful day here, like summer again. Managed to sweat and puff my way through a L2 6W6P this morning, and DS & I are going to walk over to my mum's later to drop him off for the evening. I'll walk back as well, about an hour in total. DP & I are off to see the Inbetweeners film tonight - didn't fancy anything too taxing. Veg soup for lunch, and leftover hot pot from last night for tea. Have decided to change my MFP settings to try to maintain this weight rather than trying to lose anymore. Must admit I'm finding hard to accept I can have these extra calories! Going to see how it goes. Hope you're all having a good weekend, and dinky, hope you can enjoy the wedding x

dinkystinky · 24/09/2011 14:40

Yay JAM - does your school run an after school club? DS1's school do that and hopefully it would be ok for your DC to do if GPs cant help out for all 3 days. Feeling abit better thanks - keeping fingers crossed can make it through tonight without flaking out...

BelleEnd · 25/09/2011 08:50

knotty Congratulations on reaching a healthy and comfortable weight! I applaud you for sticking to MFP even though you don't want to lose any more- I think that maintaining weight is probably harder than losing it in the first place, and MFP is your friend!
Dinky Hope you're better, my dear.
JAM Hope the GP convincing is going well!

I was VERY proud of myself yesterday. Next week will be a biff week- DS2's birthday on Thursday, and going away on Friday night- So I was determined not to go over my allowance this weekend. I didn't have enough calories at the end of the day to have leftover crumble and a bag of chips, and the DCs and DH wanted a fish supper. SO I HAD STEAMED VEG AND THEY HAD CHIPS. Mind you, I did eat half DS2's chips (Yes, he left half of them- I do wonder if there was a mix-up at the hospital.) And I had crumble. But I don't reckon I went over 1200 cals.

knottyhair · 25/09/2011 09:34

Cheers Belle! Totally agree about maintaining being harder, and I'm relying on MFP (and you lot!) to keep me on track. Bloody hell, steamed veg in the face of chips! Very good going Grin. Hope you're feeling better Dinky, and that negotiations at the JAM house are going well!
Just did NMTZ, and am about to treat myself to a small bacon sandwich - haven't had one for AGES. Veg soup for lunch, and burger & salad for dinner. Have a good one!

thedogwalker · 26/09/2011 11:08

Morning all, hope everyone had a good weekend, and how was the wedding Dinky. Good luck Knotty on maintaining, I think your weight is just right and you are happy which is the main thing. The weekend saint award goes to Belle on not having her own portion of fish and chips, wow that is so good of you to refuse them.
My weekend not so good again, I'm always naughty when my DH is here, plus with him going away in 6 weeks we are cramming lots of stuff in, including lots of yummy food. Went to a fancy dress dinner party on saturday, 70s theme, prawn cocktail, steak and chips and black forest gatuex (sp???) and then cheese board, wine and port, yep I had them all Smile, no restraint on my part whatsoever.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day xx

knottyhair · 26/09/2011 11:53

TDW, that dinner party sounds like a lot of fun! I do love a prawn cocktail. And I can never resist a cheeseboard. It must be hard when you see so little of your DH.
Did a L2 Shred this morning with gritted teeth. Minestrone for lunch and roast chicken with roasted squash and greens tonight. Was going to do a curry with the squash but DP had a bit of dicky tummy last night so thought I'd better go a bit more "bland" for his sake. Have a good day everyone x

OP posts:
thedogwalker · 26/09/2011 12:26

Hope DS feels better soon Knotty. I'm going for another 5 mile run this afternoon, hope to be doing 6 by the end of the week. I must be mad Hmm. Lunch and dinner all sorted so I will be good all day and probably all week until DH gets home again Grin.
Hope everyone else is in the zone, take care xx

BelleEnd · 26/09/2011 13:12

Afternoon! I am drooling at TDW and the black forest gateaux. I haven't had one of those in years. They were nice weren't they? Ooooooooh Iceland puddings, how I miss you :o

I was good yesterday- Had porridge, scrambled egg on toast and a skinny roast dinner (no yorkshires; No oil; Gravy from a packet; No taste!) Also had a cheeky chocolate hobnob, but I didn't feel too bad as DH had about seven! And I kept under the calorie limit.
DS1 is home from school with asthma today, he is coughing a lot and needing his inhaler a lot. He's a lot better than he used to be since seeing the homeopath, but still- Every single September his chest gets bad and it usually gets to the point where he needs steroids. He feels absolutely fine in himself, and the challenge is to get him sitting down and not bolting around all day, making himself worse. I'm hoping it won't get to the steroids this time, but it doesn't sound great.
Just had some toasted french bread with roast cauliflower, mushrooms, tomatoes, and the best of all, grilled aubegines with marmite! Deeelish! Chorizo and sweet potato stew for dinner.

dinkystinky · 26/09/2011 13:47

Sounds like you had a good weekend with DH over TDW - and well done on keeping up with the running. You're doing briliantly. Well done on the zoning in the face of fish and chips Belle - v impressive! Hope your DS1 gets better soon. Sister's hindu wedding was great - v chaotic (but they always are) but felt better and maanged to stay up till midnight. One of her friend's kids had a bad asthma attack at 1 in the morning and ended up in hospital though - must be somehing to do with the weather this year! DH has now got the bug and not a happy bunny. Ho hum.

justaminute · 26/09/2011 13:48

I talked nicely to the gps and they are more than happy to help out. Mondays are busy afternoons with football club for ds and ballet for dd. I wouldn't want to inflict the frantic dashing around on anyone so I told the school I was prepared to work 2 afternoons and until 2.30 on Monday. Amazingly and thankfully they said OK. I'm ecstatic Grin. I get to do a job I think I'm going to love and the gps each get an afternoon with the dcs. The gps are always welcome they don't need an excuse to come over but now they have a reason to iykwim.

TDW good luck with the run later. I went out this morning and tried to do a bit of speed work as recommended by the run club leader. I felt a bit of a loon sprinting and then walking but I'm hoping it will help. I'm not sure if I want to be able to run further or faster - both would be good!

The talk of food on this thread gets me drooling thankfully it is all healthy stuff - excluding the black forest gateau. I think I need to get more inventive/ adventurous I'm in a bit of a food rut. Same reliable recipes each week. Belle Aubergine & marmite sounds....interesting Hmm

knottyhair · 26/09/2011 19:37

TDW, thanks for the good wishes, it was DP who had the gippy tummy, but he seems fine now. Belle, hope your DS feels better soon, it must be a worry. Dinky, hope your friend's child was OK, how scary! And hope your DH gets rid of the bug soon as well. And JAM, fab news!! Sounds like a perfect arrangement - bet you can't wait to get stuck in. When you do start?

Hello ladies.

I'm hoping to join you guys again after finding myself a bit lost in the wilderness the past few weeks :)
Needless to say, I've not been focused on weight loss but have maintained.

I've had a quick read through so sorry if I've forgotten anything important

JAM I'm so pleased for you! You deserve this job. I remember how upset you were about not having a job. Well done!

Belle hope your ds feels better soon. Must be very worrying. Does he stay poorly when the weather gets colder?

TDW glad you're having fun with dp. I'm sure the diet can hold for a while :)

Dinky apart from your friends ds, the wedding sounds great! Has your sister gone on honeymoon? Thats the best bit in my opinion :)

Knotty Yay! Well done for achieving such a great result. You've done so well. Enjoy your maintenance.

Lady well done on 2 stone mark!

I shall join you guys back on here and mfp for some proper weight loss now I've got myself back to it.

knottyhair · 27/09/2011 08:04

Lovely to see you back Shaxx! Belle, how's your DS today?
Having a rest day from Jillian today - walking into town straight from the school run to meet a friend for coffee. Got to buy some new bikini bottoms as my old ones are obscenely baggy, and also need some new jeans. Funds are low though I'm planning to trawl the charity shops (not for bikini bottoms though!). Had poached egg on toast for brekkie, something in Pret for lunch and soy steamed chicken with rice & veg for dinner. Hope everyone has a good day x

thedogwalker · 27/09/2011 09:10

Morning all, nice to have you back Shaxx and hey if you haven't been watching what you eat but have maintained, that's a great result in itself.

Enjoy your shopping Knotty, I hate clothes shopping, nothing gets me in a bad mood quicker than shopping for clothes. I always go alone so I don't have to inflict my mood on DH. Hope everyone is having a good day and staying in the zone xx
