Paxton - what a crap start to the new year. I hope you get your car sorted out soon and your year just gets better and better from here on in.

I weighed myself this morning and am suddenly over 11 stone -11 stone 2lbs to be precise. So have a stone to shift... which was a rubbish start to the year but not unexpected - then managed to fall down the stairs while carrying DS2 and hurt my left leg (though thank god DS2 was fine) so spent 3 hours in A&E this morning to find out what I did to myself - hurt the ligaments but nothing broken thank god - and now have some killer pain killers and fetching crutches to get around on. Still, the year can only get better from hereon in... V envious of your 3 mile walk Knotty!

knottyhohohohair · 03/01/2012 18:44

Dinky, that sounds really painful, take care of yourself. Glad your DS was OK. The walk was great, and I followed it up with gammon steak, egg & chips in the pub! I weighed in this morning as well - 2.5lb up on last weigh-in on 13th December. Not too bad, but would like to get back under 9 stone so I've got a bit of a buffer zone for holidays etc. So I've gone back down to 1200 cals on MFP for a bit, just to see if I can shift a couple of pounds, then I'll go back to maintaining. Did Ripped in 30 again this morning. Soup & half a prawn sandwich for lunch, and grilled mackerel with beetroot & herb couscous for dinner. Hope everyone is OK and wishing you all a successful, tasty & slim new year Smile!

justaminute · 03/01/2012 22:35

What a nightmare start to the new year Paxton and Dinky. I could do with some of your painkillers Dinky, I've shredded for the last 3 days and it seems my muscles had forgotton it I'm in agony Blush.

dinkystinky · 04/01/2012 08:31

Thanks for the sympathy ladies - I agree its abit of a naff start to the year, especially as I'd signed up for loads of new exercise classes to try out. Oh well, what doesnt kill me will make me stronger etc. And I'll look on this period as an opportunity to focus on my diet and see what weight I can lose through sensible diet alone...

knottyhair · 04/01/2012 10:58

JAM, it is hard to start shredding again if you've had a break, it will get better!

Did a L3 Shred this morning - soup for lunch and tea is lamb chop with roast squash & whatever green veg appears in my box Grin. Dinky & Paxton, hope your new years are improving x

LadyBuzz · 04/01/2012 12:50

Happy New Year ladies, dinbky & paxton sorry yours didn't start out great.
dinky if nothing else thouse crutches will tone your abs & arms!!

I weighed in this morning and have put on around 4lbs taking me to 11 st 5.6 so just over 2 stone to lose for me, I am joining slimming world on Monday to see if doing something different and the shame of public weigh ins will help.

Heres to a slim and fit 2012 for us all!

ThePaxton · 05/01/2012 11:07

Hi everyone. dinky sorry about your bad start to the year. Glad DS was okay, but as LadyBuzz says, your arms will get toned!!

Well, car had been taken off to get fixed. We'll get the excess back and we don't lose our no claims bonus so thats good. We don't get a hire car because he wasn't insured, so DP has to get the bus at 5.30 in the morning to work, nice!! It's just a PITA.

Did Ripped in 30 this morning, not too bad, and been eating well so am slowing slipping into the zone. Just hope I can keep it up.
Hope everyone has a good dayx

knottyhair · 05/01/2012 13:32

Hi LadyBuzz! Good luck with Slimming World Smile. Paxton, that really does sound like a PITA. Well done on getting in the zone though!

Had a really "hungry" day yesterday IYKWIM. Couldn't stop picking all day, tried to stick to healthy stuff but still ended up over my allowance despite doing a Shred in the morning. Not sure if it's hormones or what. But today is another day, and don't feel quite so bad! Rest day from Jillian today though, and sticking to 1200 cals without any extra exercise calories is tough. Ryvitas & soup for lunch and tuna & tomato rice with salad for tea. Hope everyone else is OK x

justaminute · 05/01/2012 20:46

Shred and 5k run today, what was I thinking? Can't bend down far enough to reach Dinky's painkillers Wink.

Not all virtuous though, there has been a chocolate finger incident Blush. Tomorrow's another day.....

knottyhair · 06/01/2012 08:44

Blimey JAM! That's amazing Smile! Dinky, how are you feeling?
Gutted as I was really looking forward to trying out Killer Buns this morning, but have somehow managed to hurt my back. Had a bit of a twinge yesterday (which I often do) but then tried to get up off my friend's sofa yesterday afternoon and something went "twang" and could barely walk home! It's better this morning but still hurts, but I can move around. Might try a yoga/stretch type routine from one of my other DVDs, take it very gently and stop if I have pain. Never mind! Beans on toast for lunch and making sweet & sour prawns with noodles & veg for dinner. Good luck to anyone weighing in today x

dinkystinky · 06/01/2012 09:53

Well done JAM - so jealous!

Knotty - oh no - ibuprofenand hot water bottle on your back today should help ease it up - dont do any exercise today (not even stretching) until you feel normal again - be careful. Thanks for asking re leg - pain has gone down alot (ony using Ibuprofen for swelling) and down to one crutch - but definitely not trying any exercise for a while...

knottyhair · 06/01/2012 09:56

Dinky, glad you're feeling better. Have just done Davina's Core Stability, and it feels a lot better actually, so hopefully haven't done any harm!

OP posts:
dinkystinky · 06/01/2012 13:47

Thats good Knotty.

Just took me best part of 20 minutes to walk half a mile (just) on my crutches - rubbish. Still keep reminding myself that its good for my arm muscles at least...

ThePaxton · 06/01/2012 19:35

Wow JAM thats fab. Glad your back is better knotty I feel for you dinky, I damaged my knee years ago and was on crutches and everything took an age to do.

Shredded this morning and am aching now, all good though. AF came today too so have had some medicinal chocolate Grin. 1lb off this week so going in the right direction.

knottyhair · 07/01/2012 15:11

Think of the guns you'll have Dinky Smile. Well done on the 1lb off, nothing wrong with that, a good healthy sustainable weight loss.

Back was still feeling sore this morning. Did contemplate doing a Shred with low weights or something but was worried I might make it worse so decided to leave it for today and see how it is in the morning. Feel very twitchy though when I can't exercise. Soup & ryvitas for lunch and beef stew with potatoes & peas for dinner later. Have a nice weekend everyone xx

OP posts:
ThePaxton · 09/01/2012 10:51

Hope everyone had a good weekend. We had a very quite one. No exercise but kept within my calorie limit, just! Ripped in 30 this morning and having soup for lunch and left over chicken and something for dinner. Have a good day.

knottyhair · 09/01/2012 11:48

Morning! Well done on staying within your limit over the weekend Paxton. Wish I could say the same Blush. Did manage Killer Buns yesterday morning but then had MIL over for farewell lunch. I made a chicken & chorizo traybake (healthy and v.nice), and an apple & blackberry crumble (I only had a small bit with a drizzle of single cream). But then got peckish in the evening and didn't fancy soup. Ended up having cheese & biscuits and port. Was nice though.

Did Ripped in 30 this morning, minestrone soup & ryvitas for lunch, prawn korma & veg rice for tea. Onwards & upwards!

dinkystinky · 10/01/2012 09:21

Morning all - how's the back Knotty? Leg is slowly but surely getting better - down to one crutch now but also back to commuting on the tube now (couldnt get round by minicab forever as too £££) and people are pretty pushy on the tube (had my crutch kicked out from under me twice this morning) so not sure how quickly the recovery is going to go from here on in. Have decided to WI on Tuesdays for a bit (to prevent the weekend splurge after a Friday WI) and am now down to 10 stone 13 pounds, so 3lb loss, which I guess I'm pleased with not having done any exercise at all...

ThePaxton · 10/01/2012 11:53

Morning everyone. Glad you're on the mend dinky, the tube not the best place to travel when on crutches, people are just oblivious to anyone else. Fab weight loss though.
Will exercise later, but did a long walk to sainsbo and had to drag 4 bags back, my arms are killing me. Our car has been written off Sad. The suspension had been damaged and would cost over 3 grand to fix, car cost us 2500 2 years ago. Oh well, we're getting paid out but its a pita. These things are sent to try us. Hope everyone has a good day x

knottyhair · 11/01/2012 18:42

Hi everyone! No internet for a couple of days so have been out of the loop! Dinky, glad you're feeling better and the tube doesn't sound like it's changed since I used to commute in the 80s! Great weight loss! I also weighed in yesterday and have lost 1lb so am just under 9 stone again. Wouldn't mind shifting another couple but am not too worried. Paxton, what a PITA!
Did L2 6W6P yesterday (man, that's tough!), and 4 circuits of BFBM this morning. Rest day tomorrow. Am starving and looking forward to sticky lemon pork with new potatoes & veg in a bit! Hope you're all having a good day x

dinkystinky · 11/01/2012 20:01

ITs been v quiet on here without you Knotty! Well done on your loss. Paxton - what a total PITA about your car. Are the CPS going to prosecute the drunk driver?

Saw physio today - he reckons another 3 to 6 weeks of physio and my leg should be better. Bit Sad about no bodycombat till then - will try doing some pilates on my abs and arms at home over the next week (nothing involving my leg) and then hopefully will be allowed to do gym based pilates and non-impact stuff by the end of the month (fingers crossed). Am REALLY missing exercise Sad

ThePaxton · 12/01/2012 08:35

dinky Such a shame about your leg. Sad Good plan to keep exercising. Well done on your loss knotty

As far as I know dinky he was in court on Monday charged with drink driving, stealing his Mum's car and having no licence. Don't know what's happened, will try and find out.

Early today, have Ripped this morning (that was fun at 7am!!) as we have a busy day. DP is off work and we're going on the train to my Mum's in Northampton to borrow her car.
Hope everyone has a good day.x

knottyhair · 12/01/2012 10:35

Dinky, you will have guns & abs of steel by the time your leg is better Grin. Well done Paxton on doing Jillian at 7am. I'm a big fan of an early workout.

Rest day today for me. Got to make a chocolate birthday cake for DS's friend's party this afternoon and I WILL NOT LICK THE BOWL too much. Paneer, potato & pea curry for tea later. Have a good one x

OP posts:
LadyBuzz · 12/01/2012 16:28

dinky well done on your loss, and you knotty I'm going to be WI on a Monday now as thats when I started Slimming world, 4 days in and i'm doing ok (I hope) I just can't get my head round how much you can eat, but I had a sneaky WI (I know, I know) and it appears to be working, Monday will tell more however.
DD is 1 next week and we are having a little party on Sunday for her so I will have to have cake BUT I am going to try to be good and keep away from the buffet.

paxton what a PITA hope you get it all sorted soon

justaminute · 13/01/2012 07:57

Well done folks. Apart from the car dilemas and injuries you all seem to be going great guns which is why I've been in hiding. Despite daily shredding, running twice per week (did 4.5 miles yesterday!) and now back at netball I've put on 4lb since the new year Sad. 2 last week and another 2 this week. I'd hoped last week was water retention but I don't think I can use that excuse again can I? I'm truly fed up.

Apart from my post run delving into the biscuit tin I thought my diet was OK -it's clearly not. I guess I need to find my way back to MFP. Hope the scales are kinder to you all.
