LadyBuzz, glad your SIL is back at home, hope she recovers soon. Paxton, it is hard to keep motivated but keep going, and when you start seeing results, that should help propel you on. JAM, well done on losing a pound, that's a good sustainable rate of loss and one kitkat incident isn't going to muck it all up Smile. Well done on the running as well. Grin mixed with {bleurgh emoticon} at minty satsumas. Good luck to all those still to WI.

Got to finish DP's tax return today now he's finally furnished me with the rest of the paperwork from the depths of his glove compartment. Homemade minestrone for lunch and chicken wings with salad, and roasted swede with parmesan for tea (odd combo I know but the swede needs eating! Have a good day xx

JAM I exercise and then wonder why I've not woken up a size 10! Grin

Since I started recording my weights and measurments on 19th Oct I've lost 1lb!!!!!! 10st 11lb again today. The main area I want to lose from is my spare tyre and I've lost an inch from there. It has to have something to do with my diet. I need to be stricter on myself. I might do a couple of days of low carbs. I did that before the summer and lost 1/2 stone, but have put it all back on again!!!

knotty If I could see the weight going, even very slowly, then I would feel better, but it's just not shifting. Over the weekend I'll meal plan for the week and STICK TO IT!!!

Hope everyone is okay.

dinkystinky · 25/11/2011 12:25

Have you taken your measurements Paxton? You may be losing inches rather than weight with the exercising.

Knotty -- you sound like you're feeling better. Good luck with the tax return!

1lb off here... onwards and downwards...

knottyhair · 25/11/2011 13:07

Well done Dinky! Paxton, have you got your goals set correctly on MFP, and are you being really honest about what you eat? If you stick to the allowance it gives you, you should see results. Meal planning is a good idea. Personally, low carbing would not be for me - I think there was a study out recently that said you only lose weight because you eat less calories, and that you're better off eating all the food groups - any quick loss doesn't tend to stay off. Just my opinion, obviously feel free to ignore it!

Hellooooo all! Hope you're all well. Haven't popped in for weeks... I wanted to prove to myself that I could sustain without the need for monitoring, so I've tried to be sensible without MN and MFP. I'm about 10st6 now- so have lost 2lb since hitting target about 2m ago- But it fluctuates wildly depending on what kind of week I've had.
I have noticed that if I eat too much refined sugar, I have awful nightmare now... Which is horrible, but is a good deterrent! I also feel really crap if I eat too much, which is really great for me, as it's easier to self-regulate.

Hope you're all doing well x

thedogwalker · 25/11/2011 16:06

Well done JAM and Dinky on losing a pound, and JAM one kitkat blow out won't do that much damage Smile. Well done too to Belle seems you and Knotty have a lot in common, losing more after reaching target. Paxton try not to worry too much, the weight will come, just at this beginning pahes, be really honest with MFP, include every cuppa and you will see results.

Well I am now 11 weeks pregnant. I was 9 st 8 lbs when I got pg and I am now 10st 2 lbs, so a gain of 8 lbs in 11 weeks Blush. Not good I know and I really need to get back to logging everything on MFP and stop the chocolate munching every afternoon. I do not want to balloon like last time, I must make that my mantra Smile.
Hope everyone is well, and hope you are on the mend Knotty. Take care all and have a good weekend xx

thedogwalker · 25/11/2011 16:07

D'oh my typing is poo, that was meant to read 'beginning phase' Smile

knottyhair · 26/11/2011 08:48

Hi Belle! Nice to see you back here, and congrats on reaching (and exceeding!) your target! TDW, I've got no idea if 8lbs is a lot for the 1st trimester or not. I can only remember that I had to eat when I felt like it due to sickness, so take it easy and I hope the nausea stays away. When's your scan??
Going over to my mate's house this afternoon with DS (DP has to work Sad), and he's doing a buffet type thing from 3ish, so I fear today could be a right off! I'll try not to go too mad and remember that it's only one day. Hope you all have a good weekend x

Morning! Back in the land of exercise this morning, but did Davina rather than Jillian, and judging by my mini coughing fit after the not very hard cardio interval, I think it was a good idea! Had a lovely time at my friend's on Saturday but as expected polished off rather a lot of sausages/olives/pizza/gin. Soup for lunch today and rosemary braised red cabbage with kabanos for dinner later. Hope you had a good weekend and have a good Monday x

Morning Knotty - glad you're on the mend!

TDW and Belle - nice to see you on and good to hear all is good with you.l Hope the sickness passes soon TDW - and please dont worry about putting on weight. It goes in fits and starts like that in pregnancy - you'll find it will tail off for quite a while at some point and you'll start panicking aout not putting on weight!

thedogwalker · 28/11/2011 12:54

Well I've tried to be good ish this weekend, and I've started going back on MFP to log everything, it really does show you that protion size does creep up and we eat for toomuch when not monitoring it. But hey I had a huge sunday dinner yesterday, one thing I won't compromise on Grin.

Hope everyone is well and in the zone, not long now til we have to wear our party frocks Smile and santa brings us lots of gifts for being such good mummies.

ThePaxton · 28/11/2011 19:39

Hi everyone. Thanks for everyone's words of support. dinky I have measured and have lost a small amount. knotty you are right regarding low carbs and what I lost in the summer I put straightback on. I was having a bad day and went on to biff over weekend. It really showed me (although I already knew) that what I eat and exercising has a massive effect on how I feel and this morning I woke up with spots. That would be because of the carmel bar, millionaires shortbread and numerous packets of crisps! Blush

You are so right about portion size TDW I'm back on healthy eating today and measured out my pasta tonight. 50g is not much on the plate but it did fill me up. I am going to be anal about making sure I put everything I eat on MFP.

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

knottyhair · 29/11/2011 10:06

Morning! Paxton, glad you're back in the zone, and doing well! TDW, you're so right about portion sizes. Good advice from Dinky as well.
Did Davina Kick Fit this morning - definitely feels a lot easier than Jillian, but I think it suits me this week until I'm back to normal. Veg soup and half a sandwich for lunch and pasta with salmon, low fat cream cheese, green beans & capers for tea. Boring old housework, and making a rice pud, that's my day. Am going to try to get some fairy lights up as well Blush. Early I know but I promised DS we'd try to get some up for when he starts his advent calendar and I won't have time over the next couple of days. Not doing the tree for a week or so, or it will be dead droopy by Christmas! Hope you all have a good day x

OP posts:
dinkystinky · 30/11/2011 08:39

Morning Knotty - hope you got your fairy lights up ok. DH and I were deliberating last night about when to get our tree for christmas. Cant believe its so soon!

knottyhair · 30/11/2011 13:15

I know Dinky, it's approaching fast! Yes, managed to get them up and DS got so excited when he got in from school, he decided to write all his Christmas cards - result.

Been to town this morning; wanted to get some more jeans to keep for "best" Grin, and was a bit Shock that I had to get a size 8. I don't think I've ever been a size 8 before. Had to go and sit down in Pret to get over the shock and had nice three bean chilli soup for lunch. I'm making a sort of Indian chicken with couscous & lentils for tea. Hope everyone has a good day x

dinkystinky · 30/11/2011 16:15

Wow Knotty - a size 8! I havent been that since I was at uni!

ThePaxton · 30/11/2011 21:09

knotty Wow a size 8 that's fantastic. You are my role model Grin. If you don't mind me asking what were you at the start weight and how much have you lost? ANd how long?! Have you restricted any food or has it all been through healthy eating and calorie counting (and obv Jillianing!) Sorry for all the questions! Need all the help I can get! Grin

Hope everyone is okay.

knottyhair · 01/12/2011 09:53

Thank you! It was a bit of a shock - I still think that perhaps Next have absurdly large sizes to be honest.

Paxton, I started at the end of Jan at 11 stone 4 (I'm 5'4", so had a BMI of 27.1). I haven't restricted any food, just used MFP to stick to my calorie allowance, and I exercised as much as I could (did roughly 6 days out of 7 when I was losing). That's why I like Jillian so much, it's tough but short Grin. I reached my target of 9 stone end of August. I've been trying to maintain since then, so I still use MFP to keep an eye on what I'm eating and I try to exercise 4-5 days a week. I've lost a few more pounds (currently about 8st 10lb) which I think is because I'm more active than I allow for on MFP but I'll wait until after Xmas to adjust it I think! It was the only way to do it for me, very gradually so I didn't really feel like I was on a diet as such, and I'm trying to carry it on as a lifestyle change, and it's working so far! Good luck and I hope you find an approach that works for you. Hope everyone else has a good day x

justaminute · 01/12/2011 11:26

A-MAZ-ING! Knotty. Well done... Just stop this talk of Next sizes being big, their size 14 jeans are too tight on me Sad. You are an 8 say it and be proud Smile.

Struggling with PMT this week. Not being honest on MFP. Not sure whether to be honest on there and suffer the remorse when it tells me how much I would weigh in 5 weeks or put on what I should have eaten and then feel the disappointment at not sticking to it iykwim. hmmm....

On the positive side I've just done a 6 mile run, feeling very wobbly now I think I need chocolate Wink

drinkystinkyyuletidegubbins · 01/12/2011 15:14

JAM - come on my friend. You know its best to be honest on MFP - its a tool for you to use to help you. And well done on the 6 mile run - brilliant stuff!

knottyhohohohair · 01/12/2011 19:24

Wow Dinky, I'm liking the new look. The fairy lights on your knickers are a genius idea, but I'm not sure about the strategically placed Santa beard.
And JAM, six miles is pretty amazing! And Dinky's right, there's not much point using MFP if you're not honest with yourself. If I have a bad day, I still log it and usually it gives me a bit of motivation to get back in the zone the next day. Good luck to everyone for the WI tomorrow x

drinkystinkyyuletidegubbins · 02/12/2011 08:57

Far too hungover to WI today -will have to roll over to next week. Note to self - must not stay out drinking till small hours on a work night (admittedly it was a work thing but still, not good!)

drinkystinkyyuletidegubbins · 02/12/2011 08:57

Knotty - like the strategically placed mistletoe!

knottyhohohohair · 02/12/2011 15:50

Do you think it's big enough Dinky? I originally had holly in that position but it was a little uncomfortable. Hope your hungover has abated.
Had a nice day making mince pies, mostly to go in the freezer but I did have one; they're only small ones so I don't think it was too bad. Saying that we're having a takeaway tonight as DP is reoiling the worktops (oo-er) so the kitchen is out of use. What a shame Xmas Wink. Hope everyone's having a good day - has anyone weighed in?? xx

justamincepie · 02/12/2011 17:23

joins the festivites with Santa's sack to keep my modesty.

One pound on, surprised and relieved it's not more.

Your views are noted, I'm now logging everything on MFP - oh the shame.....

How's the head Dinky? Very daring of you to drink on a school night - you devil!
