Afternoon! Aah, Dinky, I knew the drs' scales were wrong! How much do you want to lose by Christmas? Enjoy your dinner & gig tonight.

Didn't do a Jillian today - too much to do after a "day off" yesterday. Will get back to it over the weekend though. Mushroom soup with ryvitas & prawns for lunch, and a chicken pilaf for dinner later. Good luck to everyone for the WI! xx

Knotty did you get lost? I'm the house that is littered with dairy milk wrappers and smells of baking - put out your nose in bisto kid fashion and you'll find me Smile

DS had friends over for a party yesterday, cake no 1 was a success. Now to make a Nigella malteser cake for the family do today. He is going to have to have leftover cake for his actual birthday, making a third cake will do the weight loss no good at all.

1lb on - no surprise given the above. 11-9 : aiming to be 11 by christmas. Race you to target Dinky? I seem to remember saying that to Ladybuzz recently and she beat me hands down.

dinkystinky · 05/11/2011 12:48

You're on JAM - Am aiming for 10 stone for xmas. Hope DS has a lovely birthday weekend.

knottyhair · 05/11/2011 14:46

JAM, hope your DS has a lovely weekend! Good luck to you & Dinky for your targets - you can do it! {waves pom poms}. Was feeling virtuous as I shredded this morning, walked to town with DS, had a low cal but bloody tasty soup in Pret for lunch - got home and snaffled an iced bun, and we've just decided to brave the local fireworks display tonight and get chips on the way Blush. Never mind! Hope you all have a good weekend x

thedogwalker · 05/11/2011 19:56

Hi all. Well it was was my birthday yesterday and I did have a bet on with Dinky that we would make our targets by our birthdays, oops, suppose being pg doesn't help with weight loss. Well DH has arrived safely and has settled into his routine, just hope DS and I settle as quickly.
Dinky bloomin Drs scales getting you all alarmed like that, I'm sure they have them weighing heavy on purpose and I hope the checks come back clear.

Well what a weekend for birthdays, hope everyone and their families have a good time. Have a good bonfire night, take care all xx

knottyhair · 06/11/2011 11:18

Glad your DH arrived safely TDW, and a belated happy birthday for Friday! Have you had any sickness?
Busy day today, trying to fit in washing/washing-up/cooking around the water being turned off whilst DP continues with the on-going boiler saga. Got to make a fish pie for dinner tonight and a blackberry & Bramley tray bake. Had a good time at the fireworks last night, and enjoyed my fish & chips (shared my portion with DS, when I could get him to stop having a light sabre fight with his mates long enough to eat something Grin). Ooh and happy birthday Dinky! Hope you have a lovely day xx

LadyBuzz · 06/11/2011 13:56

Happy Birthday dinky hope you are having a good day.

I weighed on Friday and am back up 3lbs Blush so as from tomorrow I am aiming to be 10st 7lb by christmas!
It doesn't help that my scales are pants and weigh me completely different depending where i put them.

DS had a fabulous birthday and seemed to enjoy every second of it, the food went down a treat and the fireworks were lovely.

Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend

thedogwalker · 06/11/2011 14:31

Happy birthday Dinky, hope you have a fab day.
Lady stop moving your scales around, only weigh yourself in the same spot every week, sorry don't mean to sound bossy, just want you to be able to get the best out of yourself and not to feel so frustrated. Never mind about the 3lbs, you have done it before and you can do it again. You WILL be at your target by christmas looking fanstastic on xmas day.
Well I've been busy baking and sweeping up leaves, what a thankless task that is. Still got half the garden to do Sad, but came in for a spot of chocolate brownie and coffee, believe me I've burned the cals off already. Hope everyone is having a good day, take care xx

dinkystinky · 06/11/2011 20:55

Thanks lovely ladies for the birthday wishes - and happy birthday dor Friday TDW. Glad your DH has settled in ok. Lady - am sure you'll shift that 3lbs in no time. Had a lovely weekend if rather hectic - down to south London last night for firework display with friends after the usual Saturday running around and today was party for One of my friends ds then off to watch some like it hip hop with DH and my 2 boys for my birthday treat which was excellent! Now sitting with a glass of fizz and a DVD - so all in all a great day!

knottyhair · 07/11/2011 10:13

Morning! LadyBuzz, totally agree with TDW about the scales. You can reach your Christmas target, and you will, I can feel it in my water Grin. Glad your DS had a good time. TDW, I know what you mean about the leaves - DP suggested paying DS to do it and I think that's a good idea! Dinky, your birthday weekend sounds lovely.

Just did 4 circuits of NMTZ, despite still aching from Saturday's shred (I can really tell that I had a break from it). Enjoyed it though. Some sort of soup and half a sandwich for lunch, then turkey in a tarragon & white wine sauce with carrot/apple/celeriac mash for tea later. Need to make the Bramley & blackberry cake today as I ran out of time yesterday what with the power only being on sporadically. Hope everyone has a good day x

Hellooooooo {echo}. Very quiet on here, I guess people actually have real lives Grin. Did L1 6W6P this morning. In other news, we now have...... {drum roll} HOT WATER! Proper hot water that actually comes on and stays on when you turn the shower on! It also means underfloor heating in the lounge which is lovely but not so conducive to doing Jillian. Very sweaty Blush.
Had spicy chicken soup for lunch and am making Italian Tuna Balls Hmm with spaghetti & salad for tea. Hope everyone is having a zone-tastic day xx

dinkystinky · 08/11/2011 16:01

Hurrah for hot water and underfloor heating Knotty - think of it as Bikram Jillian Grin Did bodycombat and zumba yesterday and circuits this morning - can REALLY tell I've been for a while as it was hard work! Am having a few protein based days so v boring day of 2 muller lights and a pack of chicken slices consumed so far today - have a work thing tonight so will be avoiding the wine (boo hiss) and trying to find something protein based to eat tonight too. V dull indeed.

justaminute · 08/11/2011 18:30

Glad you had a nice birthday Dinky. What's with the protein days? Are you following Dukan? You are so going to beat me! Ds had a good cake filled birthday weekend. Despite giving away lots of cake to friends and family I still seem to be sneaking a daily slice, don't tell me to bin it it's too nice. I just need to treat it as a treat...easier said than done.

Knotty can I come and lie on your floor? Underfloor heating sounds glorious, we've yet to put our cranky old radiators on. Neither dh or I want to be the one to crack and admit to being cold. Too be fair though it is still surprisingly mild isn't it?

dinkystinky · 08/11/2011 21:36

Its not really Dukan JAM - its just an attempt to break sugar cravings (theory being that protein will fill me up and reduce sugar cravings...)

justaminute · 08/11/2011 22:14

Perhaps I should give that a go too. I've just logged my intake on MFP, it would have been a good day if it wasn't for the cake and biscuits.

thedogwalker · 09/11/2011 13:20

Congrats Knotty on having hot water at last. Glad you had a nice birthday Dinky sounds fab and yum yum to the cake JAM, but yes just ONE slice per day and make that a slither Grin.
I had my first MW appointment today, so now that is done, I have the 12 week scan to look forward to, and I cannot wait. Still waiting for my scan date and getting excited at seeing the LO for the 1st time, just a shame DH wont be with me, but when I get a scan photo I'm going to scan that on to the computer and sent it to him so he can see out LO too.
Hope everyone is having a good day, take care xx.

knottyhair · 09/11/2011 14:03

Grin at bikram Jillian, Dinky - what a scary thought! And good luck with the protein days - hope any weight loss is worth the boredom! JAM, you welcome to join me on the floor doing pike crunches & mountain climbers anytime you like Grin. Aah, TDW, bet you're really excited!
Fitted in a Shred first thing this morning, then walked into town and met a friend for a late breakfast. Then trawled around the shops trying to find stocking presents (yes, my name is Knotty and I've started Christmas shopping - there, I've said it). Got so fed up by midday that I went to Pret for soup and a read of Heat magazine. Pork steaks with potatoes and braised red cabbage for tea. Have a lovely afternoon xx

OP posts:
dinkystinky · 09/11/2011 14:15

Ooh TDW - so exciting! When is your 12 week scan due?

JAM - just work cake and biscuits into your day's allocation on MFP - if you're going over your calories then chuck in some exercise to help regain he balance i guess.

Knotty - I've been christmas shopping for the past month or so in an attempt to spread the cost of christmas presents around abit. Boys' christmas presents and stocking stuff mostly sorted. What's your red cabbage recipe?

Protein day today still v boring - had decaf skinny latte (all protein!) and yoghurt for breakfast, prawns and chicken for lunch and may well have yoghurt and boiled egg for dinner. Am also taking lots of vitamins and drinking lots of green tea and water. V virtuous but dull.

knottyhair · 09/11/2011 14:59

Dinky, I usually just cook it slowly with some brown sugar and red wine vinegar, with either apples or sultanas. But tonight Matthew, I'm trying a new recipe, from the latest Good Food magazine, which is with port (we've got some that needs using), cinnamon, star anise, brown sugar, red wine vinegar & pears. Hope it's OK! Enjoy your boiled egg Smile.

OP posts:
dinkystinky · 09/11/2011 15:10

Ooh nice! I like it with some red wine vinegar and apple juice - yum yum yum. Somehow a boiled egg doesnt sound quite so appetising...

knottyhair · 09/11/2011 17:29

Just wanted to say I'm cooking the cabbage now and the kitchen smells amazing! Like Christmas already Grin.

OP posts:
LadyBuzz · 10/11/2011 09:48

Thanks for the support ladies, I KNOW I can do it i'm my own worst enemy, but I have been saintly this week so far so I am hoping to see some results tomorrow!

I have also started my christmas shopping, in fact I think i'm over half way through. All of the DCs are done except an outfit for DD.
I did nit last year slowly because i was very heavily pregnant and it was much easier for me that way so I am trying to do the same this year.

I'm going to attempt a sausage and bean casserole tonight in my brand spanking new slow cooker.

tdw hope you get your scan date soon then you can really get excited. I loved having my scans!

dinkystinky · 10/11/2011 09:54

Boiled eggs are very, very boring!

Ladybuzz - I got given a slow cooker a couple of years ago for Christmas by MIL (it was a much wanted present) and I love it - great for chicken stews and soups. Top tip - brown the sausages first though or they'll look v anaemic.

dinkystinky · 10/11/2011 09:55

Last day of protein to break sugar cravings today - but may be scuppered as our lovely nanny gave DH and I a big box of chocolates last night for our joint birthday present.

knottyhair · 10/11/2011 10:48

Morning. LadyBuzz, sounds like you're doing really well, and I love sausage casserole! Dinky, glad you're on your last day of your regime - have you noticed a difference? I think you deserve a chocolate!
Rest day from exercise today - spicy chicken soup for lunch and indian-spiced mackerel with rice & kale for tea.
Feel a wee bit emotional at the moment - DS is having a wobbly time and keeps talking about not wanting to leave me in the mornings etc. Couldn't work it out and then remembered that they're doing about children being evacuated in WW11 at school this term and I think it's affecting him a bit (one of the other mums mentioned that her DS had been very tearful about it). Bless him. Also my uncle has just been diagnosed with a very aggressive form of prostate cancer which has been a bit of a shock - waiting to hear at the moment if it has spread to his lymph nodes or not. Just feel a bit Sad.
