murtette I have a stepper at home - Reebok one with a handle and resistance straps, was half price in Argos at about £40. Got a folding exercise bike too, but prefer the stepper for calorie burning.

blondes sucky Sad I had a crown last year and regret it, my tooth is still not right. I have a night guard now, but cant wear it as sore throat/blocked nose/cough at moment

And today I finally made Parsnip & Apple soup. Wow. Yummy! Parsips, apple, onion and veggie stock - it is so creamy and yummy. Made 4 lots, 3 for the freezer and one for now. Yum!

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/02/2011 13:35

smokin did have a choice, tooth had half cracked so only way to rebuild it :(

will see what i think of it when fitted in 2 weeks

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/02/2011 13:36

didnt not did Blush

RatherBeOnThePiste · 03/02/2011 14:52

Sorry to hear you are dribbling Blondes...
Am bored of my soups, and bored of not eating yummy things. Having a bored dieting time really.

Bored
Bored
Bored

Sigh

Am not really getting anywhere, and I know I will have sts tomorrow, then I'll really be fed up. Arse.

Hey-ho, Piste slaps herself round the face..

Am running later, once it gets dark and I can be anonymous, and have a big jump up in time. Can't believe I'm on Week 5 Run 3, it doesn't feel long at all, but the system certainly works.

I shall go and be bored somewhere else.

Murtette · 03/02/2011 15:50

Piste - you're doing brilliantly with the running. I've realised that the reason why I'm not doing any exercise is that I'm no longer walking into town and back (2 mile round trip) most days. On the days I'm working, I drive to the station, then get the train and the tube and whilst its only 4 miles to the station so I could cycle it, the first two miles are up a ridiculously steep, narrow hill so I'd either die of a heart attack or be run over. On the days I'm not working, I tend to be trying to fit too much in so drive everywhere.

Bebe - that terrine sounds good. Do I need to do anything to the fruit (like add some gelatine) to get them to stay in position? I know I made pavlova last time this couple came and an apple crumble before that and don't want to repeat something if I can help it.

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/02/2011 16:02

Piste - have some pasta/jackets/sandwich if fed up with soup

Murtette - try cycling one weekend to see if you can manage it ESP as nicer weather is coming

bebejones · 03/02/2011 16:10

Murtette - I just give the fruit a gentle stir when I have added the jelly to get it to mingle, that's usually enough. Don't add toooooo much fruit that's the only other thing! I find sugar free jelly never sets quite so firm, so definitely add less water.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 03/02/2011 16:51

I think maybe I am just lacking motivation. I eat the right things, am not boozing, i am exercising well etc and I struggle to lose one pound a week. Poopy.

Tonight the rest of my family are having chicken madras homemade, rice and veggies. I will have something dull. It's wearing me down [arsy emoticon]

Please someone tell me to get over myself and give me a massive kick. Please.

smokinaces · 03/02/2011 16:56

Piste, what diet are you doing? Only ask as I still eat things like tikka masala and rice - weight watchers do some fab sauces. I honestly dont feel I am missing out on this diet as can have anything really within moderation.

Now have veggie and Carrot & Coriander soups to go in the freezer. Made a celery one, but only got 1 portion out of it (underestimated the amount needed!!) so had that for my tea! Then managed to break my blender - argh! At least I have a weeks worth ready for the freezer.

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/02/2011 17:06

i generally lose a lb a week, yes its slow and frustrating but going down slowly

bebejones · 03/02/2011 17:09

Piste - maybe you need to have a weekend off, eat what you like then start afresh? Or maybe you need to start a different 'plan'. SW or WW? That might give you some renewed enthusiasm. Or set a goal, a date, or something. :)

Smokin - I think I would cry if my blender broke. I use it everyday!

smokinaces · 03/02/2011 17:11

I think it broke because it hadnt been used for 2 years and then suddenly used 4 times! Think it broke with shock!! Grin

recommendations for a cheap, economical one anyone?

thinking of starting to make fruit smoothies again too, loved them before.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 03/02/2011 17:36

I'm just doing calorie counting. Nothing exciting. WW sounds like hard work! I think the lack of target is maybe a factor, you know; something to aim for.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 03/02/2011 17:37

What is SW?

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/02/2011 18:01

slimming world

you have read and green days one is pasta/carbs and one is protein

ie on a free meat days, you can in theory eat a whole chicken if need be

you have your a and b and healthy option

could never get my head round it tbh, but friends have done it and lost weight

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/02/2011 18:01

ww is and isnt hard work - once you know the pp of stuff its easier

im getting my head round it slowly, but harder for me as i knew the old ww system so well iyswim

bebejones · 03/02/2011 18:17

Smokin - I have a 'normal' jug style blender (which I hardly use) and 2 hand held ones. For blending I use the cheaper one of those most...it's from Tesco! It's really good & easy to clean. here

Piste - My DH lost 4.5 stone on SW a few years back. But I think they have changed their system since he did it!

smokinaces · 03/02/2011 19:33

SW is like the new WW now - all very confusing! I think you can do green and red days still, but their other newer thing is food focusing or something and a lot more relaxed.

Thanks for that bebe, think a handheld is the way to go. the big jug blender was an accident waiting to happen to be honest with me and glass. I remember having a handheld all those years ago when DS1 was a baby, though god knows where it ended up in the 2 house moves since!

Boys asleep. Bit hungry, but going to jump on the stepper in front of last night's Greys instead. Maybe an early night, evening outs planned tomorrow and saturday!

Murtette · 03/02/2011 19:50

Smokin - you're definitely inspiring me to get some exercise equipment for home. I'm going to watch the final of that Michel Roux Service thing (which I've found strangely addictive) and then catch up on Location Location and I could easily exercise whilst watching that.

Blondes - my car struggles with the hill to the station, there is no way I could do it.

Murtette · 03/02/2011 20:08

Piste - I also meant to say that I think you need a Piste style telling off - you're doing brilliantly. You've lost 2.5 stone - that must be about a fifth of your body weight. Just think about how much better you look and feel about yourself than you did 13 months ago. And think how well your running is going (well, how well its going when you remember to wear your sports bra!). You've been so diligent at sticking to the diet and losing weight slowly but steadily that I'm not surprised you're going to lose motivation and get a bit bored from time to time. Aren't you only 8lbs off your original target? If so, why don't you maintain for the rest of Feb and then start focussing on dieting again in March and April - if you lose a lb a week, you'll have reached your goal by Easter. Can't you persuade your DP to whisk you (and the DC perhaps) somewhere for a long weekend then or on one of the May bank holidays when you'll want to look gorgeous - maybe somewhere with a spa or a pool or something. Otherwise, you'll just have to persuade a friend or relative to get married so you have their wedding to aim for! Here endeth the lecture

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/02/2011 20:38

ditto murtette regards piste :)

give yourself some slack

im just back from body combat, off for a bath and soup for tea - hoping for a lb loss tomorrow

bebejones · 03/02/2011 21:12

Aaaarrrggghhh!!! Had been SO good today...then just had a piece of swiss roll & some sponge and custard! Not even the fact the custard was made from skimmed milk & with sweetner can redeem that act of badness! Blush Bet I've stuffed up all my good behaviour this week with that! Really cross with myself! Couldn't even stop myself after having the swiss roll...why wasn't it enough! Going to drink about 3 pints of water in the vain hope it flushes the cake out.......Hmm

Need to exercise...just it hurts! Must ring doctors 2moro!

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/02/2011 00:22

Aww Bebe ((hugs)) stop being so hard on yourself :(

You have done fantastically the past year and everyone is allowed a small treat every now and again

Hope you get an app at docs tomorrow xx

RatherBeOnThePiste · 04/02/2011 06:18

Arse.

GettinTrimmer · 04/02/2011 07:28

I can't read the scales properly, wating for my new glasses, but it looks like either 0.5 or 1lb loss. So I'm putting myself down as lost 1lb.

You've managed to keep the weight off Piste, that is a brill achievement. I know you want to lose another 8lb and you've diet fatigue atm but don't underestimate it!!

I got down to 11 stone 3 and as soon as the challenges of holidays, kids being at home came along I put on 17lbs, and really quickly too. but we learn by our mistakes Hmm This year when I get down again to 11 stone I will be less blase about it.
