Wynken broke the other thread!

Have been so busy at work, only in the door a few minutes. Haven't eaten yet, but weirdly not hungry.
Must have something otherwise will suddenly get ravenous.
Looks like everyone is doing ok though.
Am actually looking at Shred DVD (Still in its cellophane wrapping!)but too wrecked to start doing it today.

findingtheRialme · 17/11/2010 23:26

thought it was Churchill, my first attempt at google brought up manic street preachers lyrics Wink

DontCallMeBaby · 17/11/2010 23:27

Ria - Winston Churchill had the Black Dog. Whether he dieted or not I suspect is lost to history.

findingtheRialme · 17/11/2010 23:30

think he probably thought he had better things to do than diet! (my knowledge of history is quite rubbish, but Ma Larkin is my historical iconBlushWink)

DontCallMeBaby · 17/11/2010 23:32

Damn, not quick enough. :o

Missed that you'd gone swimming Wynken, well done! I was made to work hard this evening - I started pootling up and down doing breaststroke, which I've discovered I'm actually really good at now I can do it properly, but the instructor made me go back to basics with front crawl. Bastard. I nearly drowned. Left to my own devices I would probably not do a lot though, so am very impressed with 64 lengths - don't think I did anywhere near that, and the pool I go to is TEENY.

findingtheRialme · 17/11/2010 23:38

thanks though DCMB, am glad it's not one of those QI type facts that I could have imagined Wink. Do you know if it's something he suffered with anyway, or was it due to the War and his position etc? (really ought to get background to my random factsBlush) Sorry, I digress...

had a shopping spree in Matalan today (last years "I will lose weight" xmas prezzie from my parents) I so hope it fits (2 tops and a pair of tracksuit bottom type thingies I have earmarked for dance class) Couldn't find any jeans though. They seem a bit random wether things stop at 20 or 22. Unless they had just sold out? Gorheous belted purple cardi, but not one big enoughSad, so have bought purple cardi from elsewhere and am justifying it as themoney I would have spent on exercise classes! I didn't really enjoy the whole shopping experience as such, but it was just a little bit nice to go and choose clothes just for me, and not from a charity shop. I could have spent a fortune TBH, Matalan do have quite nice stuff.

Lulumaam · 18/11/2010 07:28

awwww, melty xxxxxxx

Lizzylou · 18/11/2010 07:33

Oh Melty, poor you, hope you're feeling better.

Ria, a shopping trip, how fab. I only ever online shop, I would love to just go and and try on loads of clothes and then go for coffee...I love the whole experience of shopping (not communal changing rooms though).

I went to group last night and lost 1.5lbs so that is OK, 10lbs off in 5 weeks, slowly slowly but hopefully longterm.

whatkungfuthat · 18/11/2010 08:03

Wynken, nothing could persuade me to go swimming in this weather, you are v. brave! Smile

Ria, your shopping trip sounds lovely. I'm Envy as all I seem to shop for atm is toys and wrapping paper.

Melty, I do sympathise, I know the Black Dog although I think I get it in a more puppy form

Well done on the loss Lizzylou Grin

There was no way I would have been dragged to that meeting last night, Miss Slinky or not, imagine the cringing shame! I'm off to my WI at WW after school run this morning so a bit nervous about possible rebound consequences as I've been eating a bit differently Hmm

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 18/11/2010 10:36

Well done Lizzy, 2lbs average a week is great. Good luck for later Kungfu.

I have put on a pound but am completely OK with that as it's my sts/gain week and I've put on more than that before whilst completely sticking to the plan. This week I had 2 terrible binge day and another day which wasn't great. So hopefully I'll lose a bit next week and the week after to take me finally to the 2 stone mark.

I am not sure exercise is good for you I ache rather a lot today. No way am I ever going to do something like the Shred, it will finish me off!

Lizzylou · 18/11/2010 10:47

Good luck Whatkung Grin

Wynken, the shred is good as you ease into it, the first time you do Level 1 you ache to buggery the next day, after a week it feels easy(ier). It does get results, when I stuck to it before my holiday I could feel my stomach was tighter and firmer, and my arms and shoulders.

It's just that getting changed when it's cold thing, isn't it? I am shivering so much am sure I must be losing weight through that Grin

whatkungfuthat · 18/11/2010 11:37

Just back and amazed & delighted that I lost 3.5 pounds! Def. not going back to SW now, as I have (just) got my head round PP and really enjoying it, and there are 'other issues' at my SW group that I wouldn't want to mention here just in case certain RL people are lurking silently. Grin

desiretochange · 18/11/2010 12:14

Congrats on your weight loss wkft:):)
Quick question are Danone Activia Fruit of the Forest yoghurts syn free???

whatkungfuthat · 18/11/2010 13:17

Thanks DTC, if its fat free then the yoghurt is syn free, if its Bio or fibre then its 2.5 - 3.5 Smile

Lulumaam · 18/11/2010 16:48

that's no so bad then wynken !

well done kungfu !

I've just made a low syn rice pudding

milk from HE x, pudding rice. 1 oz of golden caster sugar (5.5 syns) large pinch of cinnamon and water as needed in case all milk is absorbed. cook slowly on hob. v nice.!

Lizzylou · 18/11/2010 17:46

Yay for Whatkungfu! Well done Grin

Had Quorn Swedish meatballs in a tomatoey/herby sauce for lunch (love these) and am having baked potato with prawns in Total 0% yoghurt and chives for dinner.

Haven't felt hungry or like I am missing something for ages, not deprived at all, eating more if anything.

ditavonteesed · 18/11/2010 17:49

fell seriously off te wagon today, to the point where I am wondering if I can be bothered anymore, I am only losing a pound a week and it just seems like such a long haul for that.

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 18/11/2010 18:04

Dita, I do know how you feel. But, this time next year that will be you 4 stone slimmer which is sodding loads, even when you've got as much to lose as I have. Are you still doing WW, is it worth doing SW for a bit so it feels a bit different?

ditavonteesed · 18/11/2010 18:08

I really dont like the group leader at SW, love the one at WW, she has 2 border terriers and have met her in the park with dogs before, I like border terrier people. think I will be fine tommorow, just going to write today off completely, had a stressful week and migraine on monday so been all o9ut of sync, just cant understand why I can only lose 1lbs a week and it doesnt seemt o matter if I am really good or a bit naughty.

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 18/11/2010 18:22

Yes, border terrier people are cool, my friend has one ! We've all been doing it for a bit now and novelty has worn off, it's sodding freezing out there and we're starved of daylight, coping with things like spot dressing up, Christmas shopping, more social events etc and it's not easy.

I don't get the pound a week thing either but sometimes it seems to go like that. If it is any consolation my total for November so far is 2lbs with only one more WI to go, pretty short of the 6lbs I was hoping for. Sounds like you need some pampering time tonight if possible.

Lizzylou · 18/11/2010 19:05

Dita losing 1lb a week is better than gaining 1lb a week, surely? I must have put on 1.5stone since my holiday in August. I definitely gain at a far more impressive speed than I lose Grin

I know it's disheartening, I lost my weight far quicker last time (at 5 weeks last time I'd lost 16lbs, not 10). Perhaps shake it up a bit and change your exercise routine. Can you ask your WW woman (not a dog person, sorry. Though I think Border terriers are those cute ones) for any advice?

mad4mainecoons · 18/11/2010 21:31

can i join you ladies?

i rejoined SW last monday after having DC2 and i have gone to a new group, new consultant for a fresh start.

bit of background - after my son was born i started SW, lost 3 1/2 stone, even won woman of the year district finals! (i went to head office for the final!) and i was so pleased, but my second pregnancy and all the yukkiness that went with it ment that all the weight i lost went back on.

getting on the scales last monday and seeing i was back where i started was heartbreaking but even though it seems such a hard journey to make again, i know i have made it before Smile. are any of you doing extra easy? thats what im doing now but it seems so strange to me after doing red and green for so long.

anyways, im so glad i found this thread, hopefully i can keep my motivation going by chacking in here often.

Lulumaam · 19/11/2010 07:20

go for it mad4 !! you can do it

have a good day everyone...

I'm starting the day with left over rice pudding from last night... 3 syns .. much more inviting than more toast /scan bran on a cold morning..

that should set me up for the day Grin

ditavonteesed · 19/11/2010 07:59

thanks wynken and lizzy, if you want to see the cutest border terrier (also naughtiest) in the world check out my profile Grin.
Mad4 welcome, this lot are a great bunch and certailnly keep the motivation going.
rice pudding sounds nice mmmmmmmm.
I am going to get my head back around things today, dd1 has a baker day so I am taking her to shopping mall and for a Mcdonalds lunch, so will actually be organised and buy myself a yummy salad or sushi or something from M&S first so I dont end up eating crap for the sake of it.
Last night was assesment night at dog obediance, mortified me, much, we finioshed last, blasted dog (love my cherry but there is only so far) wouldn't even sit, I was pouring with sweat by the end of it as I was so flustered. trainer came up to me at the end and said they will get somebody to work with me one on one, so if anyone has a great big dunce hat that would be useful. Was definatly good excercise though.
My excercise is a bit none existant at the moment as my hip and back are sore pretty much all the time and I dont want to risk damaging anything. planning to join gym in Jan when dd2 starts school Sad. still do quite a lot of walking though and I really enjoy that. Can not understand how I used to enjoy running 10k, just so wrong.

Also I have got such a stomach ache today from eating white bread yesterday.
Hope everyone is doing ok today.

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 19/11/2010 08:25

Welcome mad4, my cats are half Maine Coone. They look like ordinary black and White mogs though, just very large !

Dita, you absolutely can't be cross with her, she is gorgeous !!! If it is any consolation I still have vivid memories of a training class earlier this year which over ran by 15 mins as we were all waiting for Plog to remember how to do recall and stop ignoring mecand bothering the other dogs in the group. It ended with a stand off, me one corner of the room, her another with people shouting out things like act really excited. I'd feel like a complete idiot and wave my arms about, she just looked at me as if I was deranged. Liver cake failed, interesting noises failed, flipping nightmare dog she was before finally coming over but slightly out of reach. She went into season very shortly after and I'm sure it was her hormones making her act weirdly. Don't know what her current excuse of sofa eating is though. I felt I'll after my junk food binge last week, feel loads better for being back on plan now.

Lulumaam, what a lovely sounding breakfast .

ditavonteesed · 19/11/2010 08:33

did realise last night that if competative obediance was something I wanted to do a terrier was not the best choice of dog, stubborn little so and so. having a nice bowl of oatso simple for my breakfast. actually might see if I can achange thinmgs around, I always lose loads of weight before the weekend and then put it back on before class, so I haven't lost anything yet this week so maybe I can manage to lose it before class and not put iot back on again. when dd2 starts school in Jan am going to change class to one on a thurs morning, think that will be a lot better timing for me.
