Weightwatchers ProPoints Plan

1000 replies

squashedfrogs · 08/11/2010 22:14

I've been following WW online for a few years on and off and today my account has changed to the new ProPoints plan. I haven't yet looked into this properly but was wondering if anyone else knew much about it?

I know there is another thread where someone (sorry can't remember who) was testing the new plan, has it been easy to follow & does it work?

Just been to WI and I've lost 2lb Grin Well, that was over 2 weeks, but I'm now only 1/2lb over my original Gold goal. Hopefully I might lose another couple of pounds before Christmas to conteract some of the pounds I'll gain in a flash!

Norma I haven't got an i-phone, but what does the app do?

tilly - well done - must be great incentive to be getting near to gold weight - am I right that you dont have to pay then? What are you aiming for - to get back to original goal weight or a little lower?

NormaSknockers · 06/12/2010 21:10

I lost 2lb this week which got me my first silver seven!! Am very, very, very happy [frgin] 8.5lbs & 13 inches inches in 4 weeks - whoop-whoop!

Tilly well done you, that's fab! The app basically does everything that esource does, has the calculator, recipes, tracker etc really fab!

Welcome mmmwine you'll be made to feel very at home here, we're a fab bunch and great at motivating each other! Well done on your loss so far that's brilliant, way to go!

Sadly androbb I probably will Xmas Blush DH is on nights so will be alseep 'til the afternoon so whilst the Turkey is cooking and the DC are playing I will be MNing and WWing Xmas Grin

hmc · 06/12/2010 22:57

Wow some great losses - well done everyone, and hello to mmmwine.

Am planning on making the Smoked fish ramekins from the new propoints recipe book tomorrow, will let you know what they are like.....

Going to bed now as I am starving and don't want to cave in at this late hour!

vnmum · 07/12/2010 12:52

hi guys,
well i am getting rather annoyed. I have just started with yet another cold on top of the one i haven't fully got rid of. I just seem to be getting one on top of the other. so now i seem to be not hungry one minute then wanting comfort food the next.

got WI on thurs and DD birthday tomorrow but i won't be eating any cake this time. I have my black tie function on friday so will probably use most of my 49 then. the menu doesn't seem too bad. It's:
starter: melon and berries
main: turkey dinner with apricot and chestnut stuffing, veg and potatoes
dessert: xmas pud (won't be eating that as don't like it)
followed by coffe and mince pies (will probably have DH's as he doesn't like them)

so i am trying to plan ahead, how would you point the turkey dinner? then i will have a better idea of what i can have for lunch that day

jreynolds · 07/12/2010 17:16

Hi Guys,

Don't know if anyone will be interested but I found this online weightwatchers ProPoints calculator. I have tested it against my mum's WW brand calculator and it seems pretty accurate.

propointscalculator.info

Furball · 07/12/2010 19:19

I find esource shite! I can't get the hang of it at all. IMHO it is completely unusable. Very bitty and menu's are poorly labelled hard to navigate, nothing is obvious.

Just me? or do others feel the same?

androbbob · 07/12/2010 21:20

Well done norma - a great weight loss total going on there! At this rate you willl have to send me your Size 14 jeans when you need a size 12! Xmas Wink

furball I use esource when I remember - I only track my weight loss and most of my meals and I use it fo working out Points where I can. It is ok but not very user friendly but I guess you get used to it. I need to try it on my mobile internet to see if it works ok as that would be useful. I generally track by paper and then log it all on esource every other day. It is the writing it down that helps me. Would be interesting to see what others think.

WI day tomorrow - hoping for at least 1lb but 2lb would be better! I think I only have two more WI before christmas!

WeWishYouALUCKYChristmas · 07/12/2010 21:29

Hello ladies! . I'm back from 5 days at my parents, missed catching up with you all and could have done with the motivation at times. I have just skim read the last few pages and would like to welcome any newbies and say well done Norma on the size 14 jeans....YAY!

I had a similar experience myself at the weekend. (please don't shoot me). I found myself buying, not one, not two, but 3 items of clothing in a size 10....Shock!!
I bought some highwaisted black skinny jeans from Next for my Christmas dos. I was on a dizzy high, I haven't been a size 10 for about 15 years!!!

It was hard at Mum's mainly cos they don't believe in heating their house Hmm and I struggle to eat fruit when I am cold. I did, however, take my eat out guide when we went out for dinner (twice!). I worked out that I had about 25 pps over my daily and weekly allowance, but I had WI this morning and lost 1.5lbs!!

I'm feeling a bit hacked off tonight as I have 5 Christmas dos and meals out from tomorrow til Sunday, and I was planning to just do loads of spinning, but now I have a sore throat and it hurts when I swallow, so I'm thinking I probably shouldn't be pushing myself at the gym if I feel a bit ropey, but my diet head is saying 'what's the worst that could happen??!'.

So my little bit of norma-esque motivation is this: When I started losing weight, my goal was 10st 10lbs. I am now 10st 3lbs, just since starting propoints. I have lost half a stone more than my initial goal. And now, I really feel that it's achievable for me to get below 10 stone. I love prop-points!!!

Excellent thread weight loss too!! (thanks androbbob).

Keep up the good work girls, this is a challenging time of year!!!

WeWishYouALUCKYChristmas · 07/12/2010 21:31

furball DVD arrived....thank-you sooooo much!!!

WeWishYouALUCKYChristmas · 07/12/2010 21:59

Can anyone guess how many pps mozzarella en carozza from Prezzo would be??

It's two large pieces of deep fried mozzarella .

muffinchops · 07/12/2010 22:04

Hi everyone. Have been lurking a bit and just wanted to join in with some mutual support and hopefully offer a bit of hope for those disappointed if they have lost only a little or stayed steady whilst trying their best on the plan.

I've been doing this 4 weeks now - first week lost 4lbs, second week stayed the same, third week only lost 1/2 lb and this week lost 4lbs!!! Yaaay.

I think this was pre-menstrual water retention for me but previously, I would have given up at this stage so I really urge you to stay strong on the disappointing weeks.

Go ladies!!!

InLoveWithDavidTennant · 07/12/2010 22:07

Hello everyone. Sorry I havent posted for over 2 weeks but life got crazy and I needed a break from everything.

Are we still keeping up with the database? If so I have lost another 2lb since I posted last. Not much but I havent been well.

I also had a chinese tonight as its my birthday! Not sure how to point it though but I havent eaten much today just to make sure lol

My doctor has also prescribed some "slimming pills" as they're not happy with the slow loss! Not sure what else I could do about that but I hope you dont think im cheating Sad I dont think I have any other choice but to take them even though im very nervous

How are we all still doing? Still finding the plan easy?

InLoveWithDavidTennant · 07/12/2010 22:14

Furball I dont really like the esource site either. It hardly lists anything that I eat, and they dont list all their products on there either. It didnt before the update and I was hoping that they would make it better! Obviously not! Good for tracking, blogging, and keeping up with people etc...
Not good for anything else!

Furball · 08/12/2010 07:03

WeWishYouALUCKYChristmas - glad you got the DVD ok.

I however am extremely Xmas Envy of your announcement you bought jeans in a size 10 Xmas WinkXmas Grin absolutely well done you!

gingernutlover · 08/12/2010 07:04

thats fantastic lucky and everyone else, well done on the losses.

Somehow I had lost 2 more lb's last night and I have just gone past my 5% target so am very very pleased and am spurred on to really track everything and get properly back on track this week.

My leader says she has to send off a little ticket to head office to tell them I have lost 5% - does anyone know why?

Furball · 08/12/2010 07:05

glad it's just not me then with esource. I just don't get it.....

vnmum · 08/12/2010 09:13

Happy birthday InLove for yesterday.

Congrats Lucky on the size 10. I would be shouting it from the rooftops if it were me, i haven't been a size 10 since i was 18. would love to get there again though, ideally i need to have a waist measurement of less than 31" to reduce my risk of type 2 diabetes after DF was diagnosed so that would probably make me around a 10, but it will be a few stones before i get there, lol

I did do a sneaky WI this morning (official WI tomorrow)and without trousers i was in the 10's, yay!! so i am hoping it stays like that for tomorrow

Berk · 08/12/2010 09:21

Hi,

I'm thinking of starting WW PP soon (delaying due to xmas and lack of willpower!) Have previously only done Slimming World. Am going to join up online, found a code for first 3 months + join up for £29.85, it's 4-16-615-27745 if anyone's interested, til 22nd Dec so going to join up then to get max worth out of it!

Looks like the new plan is giving people losses so that's good. So depressed to have put back the stone I've been struggling with for years and had been keeping slightly at bay :(

Look forward to joining thread when I sort my head out Grin

vnmum · 08/12/2010 10:06

welcome berk,

we're a friendly bunch and Norma is fantastic at pep talks and motivation.

I have also done SW but find Propoints easier and it does work. I ate too much on SW but with propoints it's similar food to SW but with portion control and i feel abit more flexibility for treats etc, you don't have to live on quark, lol

WeWishYouALUCKYChristmas · 08/12/2010 11:36

Not feeling very lucky.....got tonsilitis Sad.

Don't feel like eating, evrything hurts when I swallow. Got lots of meals out I am gonna miss out which is good for points but shit for my Christmas spirit.

Sad
vnmum · 08/12/2010 11:43

hope you feel better soon Lucky Think of the weight loss next week if you're not eating much Xmas Smile

NormaSknockers · 08/12/2010 15:09

Hello all Xmas Grin

vnmum I would look up the values of the turkey, yorkshires etc before you go and then on the day try and fill up on the veg to help keep the value down then you can enjoy your mince pies Xmas Wink

Furball sorry you don't find esource helpful, I'd honestly be lost with it, I use it everyday and now with the iPhone app it's even easier to keep on track as all the info I need is right at my fingertips. Do you not find the tracking useful?

androbb Here's hoping I'll be out of the 14s and into the 12s soon Xmas Wink Hope your WI went/goes well, let us know how you get on!!

Lucky that's fantastic well done you on the size 10s bet you can't stop grinning Xmas Grin Well done on the loss too especially with you being away at your mums! Have you started the Shred yet?

ginger well done on another excellent loss, go you, keep it up!

Welcome to the thread Muffin well done on your loss so far, you'll find fab support here, we're a lovely bunch and getting skinnier by the day Xmas Wink

InLove Happy Belated Birthday and well done on your loss since we last saw you, I hope you're ok? With the esource there is an option to add your own foods, very handy for something you have a lot and they haven't listed.

Hello Berk and welcome to the thread, you've come to the right thread if you're looking for some support af jollying along. We're a friendly bunch and always on hand to offer help and advice where we can Xmas Grin

Sorry you're poorly Lucky Xmas Sad Keep your fluids up if you can and stay warm, hope you're soon feeling well.

So then ladies, are we all set for good weight losses? How are we all feeling about Christmas approaching? Have any of you started to think about what you'll do over the festive season, will you have a few days off and not think about it or will you enjoy it but try and stay on track as much as possible?

WeWishYouALUCKYChristmas · 08/12/2010 15:21

Norma you're like a warm cosy blanket on a cold day (lovely). Thanks for your nice comments. I still feel pants and not got any appetite so just focusing on the plus points to feeling so rank.

Thanks for your ongoing good leadership skills....you should def become a RL leader.

Not shredded yet, will wait til I feel better.
