Weightwatchers ProPoints Plan

squashedfrogs · 08/11/2010 22:14

I've been following WW online for a few years on and off and today my account has changed to the new ProPoints plan. I haven't yet looked into this properly but was wondering if anyone else knew much about it?

I know there is another thread where someone (sorry can't remember who) was testing the new plan, has it been easy to follow & does it work?

Well done boodle that's brilliant! Well done you, really chuffed for you as I know you were a bit disheartened last week!

Well done for pointing Just can't say that suprises me about McNuggets though Xmas Confused Good on you for staying on track!

I had rather a pig out yesterday on chocolate & home made cakes, I did point it all at least but do feel a little uneasy about it!

Furball · 05/12/2010 09:29

justaboutdreamsofsleep - they are mostly meat and meat doesn't contain fibre.

Well done boodle!

Norma, 'fraid I did the same - whilst making cupcakes, but I pointed it too and managed to keep my total within limits!

And I appear to have lost 2lb in 24 hours (OK, I know I shouldn't be weighing at home Blush) - does anyone else have a problem with random water retention?

vnmum · 05/12/2010 11:39

morning all,

well i didn't end up going to chiquitos after all yestaerday as DH started with flu symptoms and some of the kids were bit poorly so we had a last minute party at home. My parents brought party buffet food so i ended up having quiche, cheese and onion rolls etc so not quite sure how many points i ate but i had 15 left from my daily allowance and 19 from my weekly so i just tracked that i had used them all to be on the safe side.

I do have some buffet food left over though but i've written the points on so i can stay in control and in my points

gingernutlover · 05/12/2010 16:21

hi all, am here to do the walk of shame. I have had a terrible week with a fluey doughy type thing and didnt go to work all week as it was closed due to snow, also had dd at home with me for 2 days and my mum had her for the weekend.

Well the result of all that has meant i havent stayed to plan since last wiegh in - I havent tracked and have no idea how many points i have consumed. I dont know what is wrong with me, I am due to be wieghed on tuesday and I dreasd to think what she will say and what the weight will be.

I am determined to climb back on the wagon tomorrow but am so annoyed with myself, worried that I am on a self sabotage train and cant get off.

Anyone got some words of advice?

Positives are that I was 8lbs down total at last WI, so if i get with the plan that could be 12 for xmas I reckon, just need to get my head screwed back on and thinkng straigth!

androbbob · 05/12/2010 16:58

SHOUTS Norma gingernut needs one of your pep talks Xmas Grin

As you were!

Back later

NormaSknockers · 05/12/2010 17:21

Thanks for shouting androbb Xmas Grin

ginger you've been ill, you can't possibly stay on track when you're ill it just doesn't work and you have to concentrate on getting better not counting points. Now that you are feeling better don't put off getting back on track, get back on track as of now, start pointing from this moment on. Forget the past week it cannot be helped, look for some foods that you fancy that are filling and go forward from there. Don't dread weigh in, whatever the results are your leader is there to help & support not berate you so go, get weighed and if it's not what you hoped for have a chat with your leader, stay positive and aim for a better week next time. We're all here to support you and help keep you on track so stick with it Xmas Smile

ArentFanny · 05/12/2010 17:34

Crap few days, need t refocus tomorrow.

gingernutlover · 05/12/2010 19:01

thanks for the pep talk Norma Smile I needed that, my leader will not really chat to me, I have been to her meetings before and I think she thinks I am just there for a night out, she seems to have favourites and they are the only ones who gets proper one to one help - I realise it's a big meeting and she is only one person though so not her fault.

I have planned tomorrow's menu already -knew I had gone over points today already so have just done some damage limitation by piling my plate with veg at dinner and only a couple of roast potatoes.

So, tomorrow, porridge with small spoon of golden syrup and a banana - 5 PP

Lunch, ryvitas with philli light and carrot/lentil soup plus peice of fruit - 6PP

Dinner - left over lasagne and homemade oven chips 12PP

Evening snack, 2 meringue nests with a ww yoghurt and some fruit - total 3PP

TOTAL for tomorrow 26PP I think.

Should I plan to use the other 3 - or will it hurt to cut back for a day or so?

justabout - I tend to snack on fruit if I need to in the afternoons, especially when I am at work because I have breakfast at 7am and lunch at 12. I just dont bother tracking my fruit because of it being zero points.

tomorrow my shopping is due to be delivered, and so my stock of satsumas will be back - love satsumas!

treacle tart sounds devine, but I better not think too hard about things like that lol

androbbob · 05/12/2010 21:34

norma - great words of advice as always!

boodlebot - well done - fab loss there - on a roll - are you due for your shiney silver seven soon?

arntfanny - good thinking to re-focus tomorrow - remember what made you start in the first place - I guess that hasnt changed?

gingernut - I too love satusmas but the last ones I got were a bit tart not sweet! I will be stocking up tomorrow on these - by the crate from Lidl round the corner!

Well the count is in - there were 14 weigh-ins declared this week and we lost a grand total of 21.5 lbs this week! WOW - over the last three weeks we have shifted 94 lbs - that is 6 stones and 10 lbs - equivalent to a supermodel waif! That is so impressive! Well done ladies! Xmas Grin Xmas Grin

I reckon by christmas (3 more wigh-ins) we will have lost the equivalent of a person!

I have had an average day today - was at a soft play place late morning and had a sandwich for lunch but I reckon it added up to 11PP as it was egg mayo with handful tortilla chips, spoonful of home made coleslaw and free salad. Was tasty though. I also skipped potatoes for tea and had a mountain of veg. Possibly considering a hot choc but not sure!

2 more full days before weigh in for me and gym classes tomorrow - so heres to a good start to the week!

NormaSknockers · 06/12/2010 07:02

Morning everyone,

ginger that's a real shame she doesn't sound like a very good leader to me. Doesn't matter how big the meeting is or who her favourites are, she should be offering support & guidence to everyone, that's the whole point! Well done for planning your day food wise, excellent, it won't matter about being a few points short Xmas Smile

Fanny just get back on as of now & maybe up the exercise a bit if you're worried? Or fill up on some soup that's low or 0 PPs?

justabout I have to be so careful about snacks as it can set me off on the wrong path. If I find I really go without then it's usually either a WW bar with a cuppa or a bag of WW crisps.

Flipping heck that is an incredible weight loss, go us!! A joint 6 stone and 10lbs - that's worth feeling chuffed about Xmas Grin

WI tonight for me, I have to admit I'm not feeling wholey confident, I'm even considering wearing my leggins instead of me jeans for a better loss Xmas Grin Xmas Blush

gingernutlover · 06/12/2010 07:10

i know norma but the meeting is easy for me to get to and on a night I can always do, for me, the going and getting weighed is the important thing - I can't do it at home. And to be honest, she's probably only going to say what you have LOL.

Are you a leader Norma? If not you should be.

gingernutlover · 06/12/2010 07:11

oh and hope your WI went okay Norma Smile

NormaSknockers · 06/12/2010 07:30

That's kind of you to say ginger I'm not but have to admit I'm seriously considering it lol! No idea how you get into it though and you probably have to of lost and maintened for quite some time I would think?I'll just enjoy being a virtual leader on here Xmas Grin

It is a shame about your leader though, having someone to talk through things with and give you a boost really makes a difference and it's a shame she's not giving you that.

Thank you, it's about 7pm tonight though I stay for the meeting so won't be home 'til 8:30, if I can get a signal I can update on my phone while I'm waiting for the meeting to start Xmas Grin I'm just praying it's good news!

juatabout don't be down, it's a loss, it doesn't matter how much or how little, a loss is still a loss and that is a positive thing. You are 0.5lb lighter then you were last week and that all adds to being a lighter, happier, healthier you so smile and be proud of your loss Xmas Grin

Most likely though it is water retention, I am the same, I'm due on next week and I always retain water a good week beforehand. Have you tried using Aquaban before?

Boodles great news on your weight loss.

Norma thanks for your pep talk, I think I have managed to stay the same from last week so have a couple of days to make a small difference.

So today

porride 5pts
banana 0 pts
soup 0 pts
bread 4pts
chorizo lasagne (delicious) 7pts
salad 0 pts
plus fruit

so hauling it back.

I am working tomorrow and wednesday so I don't snack which helps.

Good luck everyone this week.

NormaSknockers · 06/12/2010 16:26

Just a quickie, if any of you have an iPhone the app is now available, it's FREE and it's flipping brilliant Xmas Grin

Well done Fanny, sounds like you've had a really successful day, good on you!

androbbob · 06/12/2010 19:41

justabout - interesting to hear about the PCOS and insulin resistance - I have type 2 diabetes and the carb problem is well known with that. I have tried numerous diets over the past few years and always manged to lose weight but since being diagnosed I found it harder and harder to lose 1/2 lb or 1lb a week. With this PP diet I have conciously cut down on carbs - no or very little potatoes with tea, tried to avoid sandwiches at lunch and it seems to be working! I have my next appointment in Mid-Jan and I am aiming to weigh less than I did three years ago - every 6 monthly appointment my weight has gone up half a stone - and I need to stop it and put it in reverse for the good of my health. The nurse is not very sympathetic - apparently I am eating too much and must be eating the wrong things, or need to do more exercise! Anyway, I am hoping to show her Xmas Smile

Will check back in later to see if Norma posts a loss!!
