Weightwatchers ProPoints Plan

1000 replies

squashedfrogs · 08/11/2010 22:14

I've been following WW online for a few years on and off and today my account has changed to the new ProPoints plan. I haven't yet looked into this properly but was wondering if anyone else knew much about it?

I know there is another thread where someone (sorry can't remember who) was testing the new plan, has it been easy to follow & does it work?

OP posts:

I managed my 6 extra pps with 6 rich tea biscuite Grin.

NormaSknockers · 30/11/2010 19:37

vnmum there's loads of options in the eat out guide can you narrow it down a bit as there's 2 pages!

Grin Lucky glad you found a way you to use them!

gingernutlover · 30/11/2010 19:42

I agree with you, I'm always telling my impatient patients Hmm that, slow and steady wins the race!!

Any loss is a loss so heading in the right direction, and the slower you lose the more likely you are to keep it off too!!

androbbob · 30/11/2010 21:00

Fab furball and gingernut - I think we are on for a better weight loss week this week than last!

I have struggled today - fortunately we had snow overnight and I refused the temptation to go out for a buttie at lunchtime - so had a small portion of leftover Cauli cheese and a small pack of quavers, yoghurt and then spoiled it by eating four biscuits!

I then had soup for my tea while the family had macaroni cheese - so came in on the 29 points!

WI tomorrow - lunch - will post losses tomorrow - just need to update online tracker for yesterday and tomorrow.

ArentFanny · 30/11/2010 21:42

weigh in tomorrow but the signs are looking good. Today I managed an apple danish and a crunchie and was still within my points.

Supper was chicken in red wine (WW version of coq au vin), new potatoes and tenderstem broccoli and very nice it was too for 8 points in total which saved my bacon.

I do agree with you about the fruit.

boodleboot · 30/11/2010 23:34

ohmygod i hid the thread by accident and have only managed to find it by google searching!! what a div.... :)

i was so gutted bout my 0.5 loss on sat and depressed all afternoon but decided to pickmyself up again without bingeing out of allowance....

thanks for the suggestion norma, i am going to eat my full 48 allowance this wk and see if that has an effect.... i mean there id obviosuly a reason they have allocated 13 for breastfeeding i guess.... i exercised buggyfit style wiv a friend and fellow PP-er mon morn and that started my week on a positive endorphin rush....not used any slushfund points or activity points tho. my leader didnt really make any constructive or helpful suggestions on sat, to be honest i think she is a bit of a twonk but the weigh in is ata really convenient place and time and i dont stay for meeting anyways.

how bizarre about thr sugared almonds!!??!!

well done on the loss bint...:)

boodleboot · 30/11/2010 23:36

ooh and well done ginger too!!! :j

vnmum · 01/12/2010 08:00

norma I would only have a main course and probably something with chicken or veg if that helps any, thanks

thighsmadeofcheddar · 01/12/2010 10:09

Another one here with a minimal .5lb loss, sigh! (5 lbs in 3 weeks) I do have realise I did eat out twice last week without pointing the meals. So I resolve from now on to do the following:

  • no lurpak at all
  • 1 x slice bread/toast per day only
  • stop nibbling the childrens food (this is a biggie) *track everyday (for some reason I stopped)

It's hard in December for us, we have lunches out both days this weekend with friends and it looks that way right up till christmas.

Well done everyone else on your fab losses. Hope to inch to my silver seven before too long

NormaSknockers · 01/12/2010 14:26

Afternoon :)

Ginger well done on your loss and even bigger well done on your first silver seven!! Here's one from us too Grin

Agree that slow and steady is the way, gives your body time to adjust so your skin can shrink with you and more likely to stay off too!

androbb hope your weigh in went well! Well done on reining your points back in after biscuit gate Wink

Fanny hope weigh in went well, yum at the apple danish Envy

boodle glad you're feeling more positive today, definately eat your full daily allowance and see what happens :)

vnmum some are very highly pointed, the lowest I can find is a spicy tomato chipotle for 12 PPs. Or there's fajita roasted vegetables for 15 PPs, garlic flatbread 'toastadas' are 6 PPs if you wanted something to bulk it out?

thighs don't be disheartened, you still had a loss even though you ate out twice I think that's pretty good!

I made another batch of 0 point soup and had that for lunch, alos made some mince pies but it's not a risk as I can't stand them Grin Sticky beef stiry fry for dinner :)

bigTillyMint · 01/12/2010 18:07

Norma, mince pies (and most pastry items) aren't a risk for me as I can't stand them either Grin

I wish I could get into making more WW recipes though - I should do some meal planning.

Lucky2010 · 01/12/2010 19:32

Evening all.
Does anyone else find themsleves 'starving', i.e. not actually starving but very hungry, when they are 'on'? I am ravenous today. Just had dinner of wholemeal rice and salmon, normally very filling, but have just put the girls to bed and now I'm so hungry I just raided the biccie jar Shock! I've been so good at sticking to pps, but I just had a moment of weakness and ate 6 rich teas!!!

Got a very challenging weekend ahead at my parents. Gonna have to be strong. It's normally freezing at their house too so I don't really feel like eating fruit when I'm cold! Going out with friends sat night but I managed to convince them to go Pizza Express as it seems to be the easiest to do on low pps.

The worse thing is M&D don't have internet access so I won't even have my friendly MN thread to keep me going!!!

Hope you are all coping with the cold. -3 here today....brrrrr!

Just trying out festive name-change.

Lucky2010 X

RiojaLover75 · 01/12/2010 20:00

Yay! Made it to WI tonight despite the treacherous ice. Lost 2.5 in two weeks! Xmas Grin Couldn't go last week as I was ill with a dreadful cold.

I'm well chuffed Xmas Grin.

ArentFanny · 01/12/2010 20:02

Oh 1.5 off today, woohoo, considering the MN binge drink xmas bash at the weekend.

Moussaka tonight and salad.

Norma I love 0 point soups allows me to be more flexible.

I too am not a big mince pie fan so that is not going to be too much of a hardship.

Lucky, yes I find I get really hungry when I am on but I retain a lot of water so find that I can still lose weight, howvere what has amazed me on the ppplan is that I lost in the build up to AF which is unheard of.

ArentFanny · 01/12/2010 20:04

Oh and it is 22lbs in total but it has taken me months to do this as has been yo-yoing alot, the leader tonight (different on than usual) was just about to give me a silver 7 until I pointed out that it is the third or fourth time I have got here but this time I am determined to keep going.

RiojaLover75 · 01/12/2010 20:14

Ooo silver seven for me too! I was 12 stone dead when I started in October and now I'm 11.7. No idea where it's gone from though Grin

WeWishYouALUCKYChristmas · 01/12/2010 22:09

Well done on weight losses girls!

I'm hoping for a decent loss at WI next week (weigh in, not women's institute) once fluid retention from period gone...

TillyMincepie · 02/12/2010 06:53

Just trying out my name-change as I sit refreshing the websites for my children's schools to see if they are open today, fingers crossed!

Well done on all the silver 7's EnvySmile

NormaSknockers · 02/12/2010 11:30

Hello everyone, keeping warm in the crappy weather?

Lucky I always find the same thing, usually 4 days before I'm due on I will literally inhale anything that iasn't nailed down! Don't feel bad about the biscuits, we all slip up don't worry and it could have been worse at least it was rich tea and not wagon wheels or something Xmas Wink Good luck for this coming weekend, just be as sensible as you can, that's all you can do Xmas Grin

Well done your losses Rioja and Fanny excellent stuff - Silver Seven from me Xmas Grin

Loving the namechange Tilly very festive!

I've lost 43lbs in total so far but it's taken my ages as I get arsing about - determined to get to goal, hopefully by the summer! Xmas Grin

hmc · 02/12/2010 12:29

Oh boy - not posted since last Thursday (weekend away etc)so have tried to catch up. Well done on all the weight losses - and NormaSnockers, I like your positive attitude!

For Boodleboot and Justabout who are disappointed with their 1/2lb and 1lb weight losses respectively, I know where you are coming from! I lost 1lb last Wednesday and was very peeved as I had tracked everything and done vigorous exercise 6 days out of 7. However it was my weigh in last night and this week I lost 4lbs!Xmas Grin

I have no doubt that some of that weight loss was attributable to the previous week when I registered just 1lb (if that makes sense). But at the weigh in the week before I was retaining fluid (premenstrual). Perhaps something similar might happen with your weight losses next week and you'll get a big one? Keep the faith!

Off for lunch of scrambled egg and smoked salmon now
