Weightwatchers ProPoints Plan

squashedfrogs · 08/11/2010 22:14

I've been following WW online for a few years on and off and today my account has changed to the new ProPoints plan. I haven't yet looked into this properly but was wondering if anyone else knew much about it?

I know there is another thread where someone (sorry can't remember who) was testing the new plan, has it been easy to follow & does it work?

Oh crap. I do not do well at the weekends at the moment due to frantic catching up and socialising with friends before we move house.

I haven't completely gone wild but have drunk too much mulled wine.

Anyone else fallen on their backsides this weekend?

androbbob · 28/11/2010 21:09

Oh dear - had a lovely chinese takeaway meal last night with friends and rather overdid the prawn crackers - suffice to say all 49 weekly PP have gone!

Will have to rein it in tomorrow and Tuesday before WI on wed lunchtime - soup it will be then!

Hope all had a better weekend!

ArentFanny · 28/11/2010 21:21

MN meet up kind of blew my points this week, will try to be good for the next 2 days.

I made the soup that came in the new folder last week the spicy butternut squash one and that is really nice.

Whoever asked the lamb stew was 7 points per serving and serves 4.

Furball · 29/11/2010 06:59

I've just had an email from weight watchers with 1 point snack ideas - among the ideas are:-

2 sugared almonds or
2 Brazil nuts

that aint a snack! I wonder exactly how many people think ooh I'm a bit peckish, I'll have a couple of sugared almonds? Grin

Also if you have The Co-Operative Ready to Eat Dried Figs Partially Dried Figs they are 1 point each but if you choose Waitrose Organic Figs - 1/4 pack(s) = 0. Confused

gingernutlover · 29/11/2010 07:04

i cam off the rails this weekend, but am back on this morning.

Saturday night went out for early xmas meal and drunk half a bottle of wine, therefore felt like rubbish yesterday and ended up eating rubbish - lesson to me, just give up the wine, it doesnt agree with you.

Listen, I have a theory. When the temperatures goes minus outside your body must have to work harder and burn up some of its own fat stores to keep you alive.

Reckon that's why we've gone off plan a bit? Wink

NormaSknockers · 29/11/2010 09:35

Morning one and all, who's up to their armpits in snow then? Grin

bob, androbb, ginger & Fanny don't panic, we all slip up sometimes, we're human, it happens, don't beat yourselves up over, feeling guilty won't do anything except make you feel down. Just make sensible choices for the next few days, low pointed filling foods, it'll be fine. Besides it's nice to let your hair down and just enjoy yourself sometimes Grin

LOL furbal Grin can't say I'd ever consider sugared almonds a hearty snack, what are they thinking?

justabout well done on the loss, 1lb is 1lb off and that's brilliant. I know it's hard not to be deflated when it's not as much as you'd like but it's better then no loss at all :)

I'm not sure I can make WI tonight, desperately trying to think of a plan! DH us working, my sister is at a rehersal and my Nana was going to babysit but doesn't want to come out in the snow (fair enough) so debating taking the children with me - bit scary as I'm worried they'll run around and cause havoc - eeeek! I'm desperate to go though as not only do I want to weigh in but I want to buy my books and bars Wink

Lucky2010 · 29/11/2010 12:56

Furball I agree with you on the snack front.....FFS...2 sugared almonds?? That wouldn't fill a bird (as my Grandad used to say Grin).

Had my weigh in this morning. Stayed the same but not beating myself up over it as I stuck to all my points and did lots of exercise. I came on today so I'm putting it down to menstrual bloating, as I always am heavier when I'm on or due on.

I will have a think and post some of my low point dinner ideas later...

RiojaLover75 · 29/11/2010 13:52

Fanny I'm making your lamb stew right now Grin. Looking forward to eating that for dinner as it's so cold here! No snow though at the moment.

NormaSknockers · 29/11/2010 14:36

I've made quite a few of the recipes from the WW Your Week leaflets this week and they were all really nice. Going to buy some of the recipe books today....if I ever get to me meeting Hmm

thighsmadeofcheddar · 29/11/2010 18:54

Evening all,

Hope everyone has been good! I have to admit to struggling in the cold. I just want to comfort eat delicious warm things. But I haven't!

Today

B:F&F
L: 1 x toast, 2 x lean sausages and grilled tomato
D: Baked potato with low fat philly, ham and large salad.
S: bar, fruit

Just about to put girls in bed and SHRED, day 6 coming up. Lucky has it arrived yet?

Anyway, keep warm all.

bluebump · 29/11/2010 18:57

I had my first weigh in since starting the new plan last week and i've lost 3lbs so i'm really chuffed as I was maintaining for weeks on the old plan.

Lucky2010 · 29/11/2010 19:17

thighs it should be here this week, I think Furball was gonna post it today.
Is the idea that you do it everyday, not sure how I'll fit that in?!!

Bluebump Well done!!!

OK, here's my recipe idea for today. A favourite to all in the Lucky household, incl the kids.

prawn rizzaz

Feeds 2 adults:

1 packet of Uncle Ben's express Tomato and basil rice

Mushrooms

Courgette

Prawns (about 200g?)

Cook the prawns, chuck in the finely chopped mushrooms, and courgette, then add the rice. Keep the 'water' from the prawns and mush to cook the rice in. Serve on a bed of spinach.

It's quick, easy, nutritious, and delicious and only 8pps per serving. Very filling too.

Norma hope you get to your meeting.

NormaSknockers · 29/11/2010 19:39

1lb off this week, yippee! Grin I had hoped for 1.5 to bring me to my first sliver seven but I'm not complaining, just so pleased to have a loss and 6.5lbs in 3 weeks is pretty damn good me thinks Grin

Well done on another good day thighs and for continuing with the shred, good on you!

bluebump fab weigh in well done!!

Lucky sounds delicious, might give that one a go!

I'm off to watch some Sky+ with a bacon sandwich now the DC are in bed and we're in from the cold Grin

Lucky2010 · 29/11/2010 19:48

Dance away Norma....you deserve it....well done!!!

ArentFanny · 29/11/2010 20:37

Well done Norma that is great news.

Tonights menu is moussaka and green beans. I was out most of the morning dog walking an mocching in the countryside so vaguely feel I can justify the wine I found in the car today.

androbbob · 29/11/2010 21:00

Well Done norma and bluebump on your losses this week - good start to the week!

Just updated the spreadsheet - we lost a total of 13 lbs last week - between 14 of us - which is great considering the exceptional losses of the first week!

Sliver sevens& were awarded to me! and lucky* - step forward and take a bow! There are also several who will (with a bit of effort) be in the 7 club this / next week - so all going great.

Recovered from weekend but was out this afternoon at friends with other mums and kiddies and had mince pie and about 4 biscuits, but did not have much for lunch, so will only be slightly over fo the day. Was in Morrisons shopping this morning and saw a cauli and decided to have cauli cheese for tea - was yum and about 6PP in total!

We do not have snow but is very cold - 0 or so. There is a threat of snow tonight but we are coastal so usually is a little warmer here. There was some teeny flakes for about 5 mins this morning - nothing to write home about.

How is the snow elsewhere?

Lucky2010 · 29/11/2010 21:16

androbobb Thanks for my silver seven as I didn't get one at my RL meeting....Hmm.

No snow here (30 miles north of London).

Arentfanny I would love to 'find' wine in my car....Grin.

I've had 22 pps so far today and genuinely wondering what I am going to do to eat my final 7 pps. Why haven't I got a bar of choc in the house when I need one!!!!???!

androbbob · 29/11/2010 21:33

lucky - here you go virtual chocolate = the best I can do from afar! PP free!!!

thighsmadeofcheddar · 29/11/2010 21:44

well done norma and bluebump

NormaSknockers · 30/11/2010 11:46

Sorry you didn't get a silver seven Lucky here, have this one Grin

NormaSknockers · 30/11/2010 12:02

Oh meant to mention, a few of us asked the leader last night about fruit and how much is too much. She said that herself and some of the other leaders had discussed it and they are going with the 5 portions a day guideline. So once you've eaten your 5 portions of fruit a day it's then you should start to point it. Obviously other leaders will have their own views on this but it makes sense to me so that's what I'm going to follow, just thought I'd mention it as I know some people have been worried about the fruit side of things but obviously I know that this isn't a written rule just made sense to me so thought I'd share :)

Hope everyone's having a good start to the week? What's everyone plannig on for dinner tonight?

I had eggy bread for breakfast, probably 0 point soup for lunch and then shepherds for dinner which will be 9 PPs leaving me a few for some supper. I'm going to try and eat less of my weekly allowance this week and see if it makes any difference in my weight loss next week.....though I'm sure by Saturday I'll have caved and used them on chocolate Grin

Going to make the sticky beef stir fry this week at some point too I think as it looks delicious!

Furball · 30/11/2010 13:13

Lost 4lbs - in 2 weeks

I'm happy with that as I didn't track. Going to try extra hard this week as I want to lose 3lbs to get me half stone.

I can do up me trousers now though! I haven't been able to do the button up for quite a while.

Am having fried liver with salad and homemade Raita. tis very nice too!

vnmum · 30/11/2010 14:25

hello all,

I know i've not been on here for a few days but having caught up just want to say well done on all the weight loss so far.

Thighs I haven't managed to shred yet as this weather is playing havoc with my ashtma, i'm wheezy just from goinf up and down stairs so don't think trying to shred would be the best idea. I'm peeved though as i really wanted to get started with it.

I've also had a few bad days this week so am expecting a gain on thurs when i WI but will be weighing in at home as can't make my meeting this week.

It's DS birthday on thursday so we are taking him bowling and to chiquitos for tea on saturday so if anyone has an eating out guide could you please tell me some low point main meals from chiqiutos? pretty please Smile

well i am definately going to track properly after WI as my dad has just been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and it's given me the kick i need to do this and get to goal for my healths sake.
