Weightwatchers ProPoints Plan

1000 replies

squashedfrogs · 08/11/2010 22:14

I've been following WW online for a few years on and off and today my account has changed to the new ProPoints plan. I haven't yet looked into this properly but was wondering if anyone else knew much about it?

I know there is another thread where someone (sorry can't remember who) was testing the new plan, has it been easy to follow & does it work?

OP posts:
Furball · 25/11/2010 19:19

have you seen these tasty recipes?? - scroll though them - yummmy Hmm

thighsmadeofcheddar · 25/11/2010 19:24

Good news vnmum, we can complain and grumble together. I had a quick peek at level 2 today (whilst in recovery position from level 1) it looks TERRIFYING!

Furball yum!!

boodleboot · 25/11/2010 19:30

oooh i have asked for the shred dvd for my christmas stocking!! will be shredding in the new year....i am actually quite excited at the prospect...pls keep updating your shredding progress!!! I am going to do a buggyfit style circuit of the local park everyday or everyother day for the next few weeks as am off on maternity leave so in a position to do so....also its good for Alice to get out in the fresh air and i find i don't notice the squats etc when they are part of a looped circuit....done two days so far, one with the trainer on wed for an hour and then today just me for half hour....intense tho and feels like i have def done big ole workout...

can i ask you ladies what you are planning to do about christmas? I think i am going to go off plan for three days (christmas eve, christmas day and boxing day) and eat all the lovely christmas goodies that i have been squirreling away with my tesco vouchers and then back on like nothing has happened and just accept the inevitable weight gain that week.....does that sound like a reasonable plan or am i just being ridiculous?

i have been good this week remaining within 35 points and am LOVING the esource applications...really help keep me on track knowing i have to input my tracking on there. Still not eating my allocated breastfeeding points or my activity points.

looking forward to treat day sat after my AM WI but slightly apprehensive too as felt so despondant after last sat and eating crap that am wondering if mentally it is just not a treat for me as i get too guilty and start feeling like i am wasting my time....hmmm, or maybe i am just slightly bonkers!!!! Confused

harverina · 25/11/2010 20:32

I am very disappointed in myself as I gained 1.5lbs...totally expected, although secretly hoped I had stayed the same!

Mad at myself for being so greedy. The cocopops are gone and I will not be buying them again. No more messing around. Need to get a grip. I could have cried last night when I got home. Why do I join WW, desperate to lose weight, and continue to eat rubbish? I am so angry at myself and also fed up being fat.

Have been within points today, although I have to admit that I am struggling. Going to a friends for dinner on Saturday night and drinks. Keeping my 49 weekly points for that and will just count the rest of the time. Walking tomorrow and plan on swimming at least once at the weekend.

vnmum · 25/11/2010 20:33

i've just found out that asda egg custards are only 6pp each. i thought they would be more than that. can you guess what i'm having with my brew tonight? Grin

harverina · 25/11/2010 20:35

furball love the recipes, going to make the celery log tomorrow night for a treat Smile

boodleboot, I am going to be going off plan at christmas for 4 days then 2 days over new year. Will just try to excecise and not over eat too much - i.e enjoy myself without going mad?

androbbob · 25/11/2010 21:00

WI for me tomorrow morning - need a trip to the loo first Blush Hoping for at last 1 but would prefer 2 pounds off!

For whatever reason I have not pointed today - not sure why, but will do it now as it is not the slippery slope downwards when motivaiton goes! Ok, just done it on the online tracker and it was 27PP so that is ok!

This thread is great for motivation! the only problem is it wont let me get onto it at work - something to do with banned words - I suspect it was the reference to food porn! Oh dear - stuffy IT bods dont like it and we cant get facebook either!

Where are the others hiding? InLove and cupcakes? I hope they are having really good weeks and come along and bump up the weightlosses - its looking a bit poor at the moment - next week wil be better!

Norma you are doing a fab job as virtual 'leader' - will you be dishing out the shiney 7lb stickers and the other awards when we get there?!! There are others too who contribute to the thread to make it a happy place to come - we will be fab by christmas!

Off work tomorrow and busy shopping day planned - hopefully good food as well! Then school christmas fair on Saturday - I am on PTA so a long day but good as a workout!

Lucky2010 · 25/11/2010 21:51

thighs can you link us into the Shred DVD on amazon (Lucky wonders if she'll end up getting Shrek DVD by mistake>>?? It sounds good and I'm a bit partial to a bit of home exercise DVD.

boodleboot and anyone else interested...I most defintitely will not be sticking to pps over the Christmas period. I won't go mad, but it's Christmas afterall, it's only a few days, then I'll get back on track. I think we all deserve this, we are working hard to lose weight. It's good incentive to keep going cos the more you lose now, the less you'll have to lose after Christmas, IYSWIM!
I find that even if I binge a bit and put on a few lbs, it comes off within 1-2 weeks of getting back on track.

Ahem, DH has just strolled through the kitchen naked......to get some more shower gel from the cupboard!!

I've had a fairly good day today. Gone 2 pps over that's all.

My tough time is gonna be 3rd-12th Dec, when within that 9 day period, I will be having 6 meals out with Christmas dos!!!!!!! ARGHHHHH! I will just have to spin every night!! (got a spin bike in the garage).

I do read all the posts, but the threasd is so busy, I can't always keep up!!

dottyaboutstripes · 25/11/2010 21:57

I've been doing ProPoints for 2 weeks now and have lost 4lbs. V pleased with that as I feel like all I have done is eat!

But I seem to be a little bit addicted to Greggs mince pies - does anyone have any clue how many pp per mince pie?? I'm skimping on "proper" food so that I can eat them Blush I've been guessing at 6pp

NormaSknockers · 26/11/2010 07:32

Good morning everyone, how are we all feeling today? Positive?

thighs and vnmum well done on the Shred, I have arranged to have paramedics on standby should you need them Wink No seriously though, well done, that's fab motivation to have each other to keep going best of luck ladies Grin

boodle I plan on doing much the same really over Christmas, I will have Christmas Eve, Christmas Day off, then get back on, on Boxing Day. I'm not fussed by New Year Eve/Day so will just treat those as normal :)

androbb best of luck for weigh in this morning, let us know how you get on! I'm sure I could sort something out about the shiny 7s and even maybe something for the stones too Grin Wink

Lucky well done on your good day yesterday, try not to panic about the 6 meals out, Maybe plan ahead byt looking at the website for the places you'll be eating at (if they have one) and looking at the menuw/nutrition information and seeing if you can decide on your menu before you get there so you have a plan in mind. Bump up the exercise a little and maybe also make a batch of 0 pointed soup to have for lunch on those days to help use less points Grin

Hello and welcome dotty, well done on your loss so far, excellent stuff! 6PPs sounds about right to me for the mince pie as most mince pies are about 6-7PPs - good guessing Grin

I'm off out shopping today so will use some pf my weekly PPs for lunch, have packed my eat out guide ready too!

Have a good day everyone Grin

Furball · 26/11/2010 07:39

lucky - private message me your address - you can have my copy of shred. I gave it up for running.

Which IMHO is easier Shock

Tis only sat about gathering dust now

Lucky2010 · 26/11/2010 07:43

Morning Norma. I'm feeling very positive today...just ben for a 6am 50 length swim at the gym! Feeling very refreshed. Just had my bran flakes and skimmed milk for breakie at work Grin.
I am trying to plan ahead a little. We're going to my parents for 5v days next weekend. My mum is a fabby cook and bakes all the time. I've told her I'm dieting, and she's very supportive (basically cos my sister who is 5 yrs younger than me and had no kids is about 3 stone heavier than me and Mum is worried about her, so I think she's hoping I'll be a good influence!) and she's said she'll get loads of extra fruit in etc. She then said "and I'll make some scones on Saturday...." NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! DH is doing WW with me too so we can support each other!
I do about 4-5 times a week high intensity exercise. Spinning or swimming. I really feel that the exercise makes a big difference for me. I don't tend to use my activity pts, so the weight comes off quicker. I will be using them that week though!!

Today we have someone leaving at work and they're having a lunch where they all bring stuff in to share. I have a can pf lentil soup. It's gonna be tough but I'll just keep thinking of the scales!!!!

Have a good day

L x

Furball · 26/11/2010 09:34

Lucky - have just sent you email

bintofbohemia · 26/11/2010 09:55

Morning everyone!

Harverina - I feel the same as you. I've been doing this for two weeks now and haven't stayed within my limit either week. It's really tricky at the moment as we're moving house in a couple of weeks so we keep meeting up with friends, going out, drinking too much. And then I keep buying crap and eating it.

I'm not buying any more rubbish now, at all. And I'm making sure I have eggs for breakfast which always keeps me full all morning. (I lost a load of weight after DS2 this way and then eating sensibly the rest of the day.)

Hope you're feeling happier today - it's a new week! Just dust yourself down and start again. Grin

thighsmadeofcheddar · 26/11/2010 15:21

Hello All,

Day 3 shredded and feeling good! Legs aren't too bad although I do use the handrail (like a granny) when carrying dd2 up and down. (Looking forward to you joining me Lucky!)I'm not using any activity points, is anyone?

Haverina and Bint - get pointing your days and draw a line under past gains. Although Bint it is very hard if you're out alot and not eating at home etc. (I ate out 5 times last week, freaking impossible)

Today has been:

B: F&F
L: Ham, salad sandwich
D: Grilled sausages with steamed veg
S: Bar and grapes

I'm out tomorrow for lunch at the Gaucho Grill so will be blowing my points apart on a big delicious steak. Will shred as penance before I go and try and walk hound miles.

Enjoy the weekend all

Lucky2010 · 26/11/2010 19:29

oh my God......had to really use strong willpower today at work. The 'bring and share' buffet lunch was amazing and all I let pass my lips was 4 (yes, 4) Doritos, and a piece of Wensleydale that my friend insisted I try that was the size of a small dice. FOOD PORN WARNING...there was brie, wensleydale with cranberries pear and honey, lime doritos, chocolates, mince pies, fresh bread (FRESH BREAD!!!)...they were all tucking in and I was eating my grapefruit Hmm.
Of course, now I am glad I didn't give in. But it was hard, especially at the end of the day on a Friday afternoon!!!

harverina · 26/11/2010 21:12

lucky2010, well done, you did really well to resist Smile

Thanks everyone for the support and motivation.

Went for a really long walk today - 2 hours. Also had a good food day. Have some points left so going to weigh out some walkers sensations and watch a DVD!

Hope your having a good friday night

androbbob · 26/11/2010 21:47

Well Done lucky - that would have finished me off! I would have had a little bit of everything - so good of you to resist - signs of good weight losses and discipline!

thighs - will have to look at the Shred DVD - its sounds awful! Short sharp exercise is all I can fit in - so should be worth a go.

haverina - hope you had a good evening with your sensations and didnt get tempted with anything else!

I went to my weigh in today - went to the wrong church first Blush (blooming sat nav) and then got directions to the right place. Weighed in - it was actually my usual leader covering a class so she was pleased to see a friendly face. I had let her know I was going to one on Friday and she texted me to say she was covering this class, so I made the effort to go. Got a lovely surprise - 3lb off which has given me my first shiney silver seven!!! Grin Grin What a boost - only four more to go!!!

Hope everyone has a good weekend - I am planning now for the days upto Wednesday so I can get my shopping in on Monday morning.

Lucky2010 · 26/11/2010 23:18

Androbbob WELL DONE!!!! That's fantastic!!
What's a 'shiney seven'?? Is it 7 lbs off??? Excuse my naivity (not my nativity Grin)

I really do find this thread such good support and motivation.

DH is out for the night. I have wrapped Christmas pressies all night. Allowed myself a packet of sunbites (3 pps). I used to think nothing of having 2-3 bags a day...9 pps!! They are a treat now.

Taking the kids to sat a.m. cinema tomorrow. I'll have my faithful banana and apple in my bag!! Hope I don't get it confiscated by cinema staff...Grin.

boodleboot · 27/11/2010 00:10

i agree this is a v v supportive thread :)

i am nervous about weigh in tom as am constipated...god knows why as am eating loads of fruit and veg!! will deffo try to get the motions going in morn wiv a caffeine shot before weigh in and also make sure i feed the bubs from both sides before i go....goodness i am so nervous about WI...what on earth is wrong wiv me???!!?? i have remained within points so should be fine non?? does anyone else get crazy nervous before weigh in?

well done for the shiney 7....i would LOVE to get one of those tom!!

x

Furball · 27/11/2010 06:52

lucky - did you get my email?

NormaSknockers · 27/11/2010 07:59

Good morning all Grin

How did everyone do yesterday?

bob good on you for making a plan re not buying rubbish and having eggs for breakfast etc, still allow yourself a little treat now and again though so you don't feel you're depriving yourself Grin

androbb WELL DONE, that's absolutely fantastic, way to go you! Here's your shiney 7 from me Grin

Lucy a shiny 7 is a little silver sticker in the shape of a number 7 that you get each time you lose 7lbs Grin Well done not stuffing loads of bags of crisps, not easy when you really like something so well done. Hope you enjoy the cinema this morning :)

Best of luck for weigh in this morning boodle and well done for starting to track all your points too! I get very nervous before weigh in so you're not alone Wink

Have to admit it's my turn to not feel so certain today. I think gaining last week has really thrown me as I had no explanation for it, I've stuck to all my points, have used 22 of my weekly (but I usually use them every week anyway) done lots of walking but my weight is not budging, according to my scales (yes I know, I should take my own advice Grin) I haven't even lost the 0.5lb I gained last week so I'm not feeling the love for the PP plan this week!

ArentFanny · 27/11/2010 08:03

Have been following vaguely your thread. I have lost 2.5lbs on the new regime and finding it so much easier than the last points one as I like the extra points and don't feel that I have to swap food for booze Blush

I bought the new book from my meeting last week and did the lamb stew with pearl barley last night, was delicious and only 7 points all in.
