Weightwatchers ProPoints Plan

1000 replies

squashedfrogs · 08/11/2010 22:14

I've been following WW online for a few years on and off and today my account has changed to the new ProPoints plan. I haven't yet looked into this properly but was wondering if anyone else knew much about it?

I know there is another thread where someone (sorry can't remember who) was testing the new plan, has it been easy to follow & does it work?

Have just completed my first SHRED session. Please send an ambulance...

Wow, it really works everything. I hope this helps balance out my 2 meals out this week.

NormaSknockers · 24/11/2010 15:35

Are you still alive thighs? I've heard it's pretty brutal but does get easier....apparently Grin

I made that 0 PP soup today, not bad actually, not the nicest, but certainly filling!

Food so far today;

Eggy bread - 4 PPs

Homemade Spicy tomato soup and 2 slices bread - 4 PPs
WW bar - 2 PPs

Dinner will be pasta bake which is 8 PPs which will leave me 12 PPs so will probably have some bread with it at 4 PPs leaving me 8 for some supper Grin

bintofbohemia · 24/11/2010 15:59

Note to self: do not keep haribo in the house. There's 11 points down the swanny. Angry

Furball · 24/11/2010 16:04

thighs your post made me GrinGrin

I finished off the Minestrone Soup - tis lovely and only 4 points per pint!

Had a rubbish day - eaten about 7 crackers (alright they were plain - but still why did I scoff 7?)

anyway....tried to go for a 5k run this morning and managed 1k as laziness set in. But did walk the rest Confused also walked to school to get ds (another 1k all in) as I have been been driving it lately Hmm (one morning it took me longer to de-ice off then it would of done to walk!)

Light tea for me tonight me thinks, I'm not too hungry after all that soup (and crackers)

thighsmadeofcheddar · 24/11/2010 17:17

I'm alive Norma Grin. Feeling post exercise high and preparing for glass of wine with girlfriends tonight. I shall fall out of bed tomorrow though as I know these legs won't work.

Furball, I wouldn't worry too much about the crackers, all that walking will pay off.

Sympathies Bint. I won't keep peanut butter in the house for the same reason. DD1 keeps asking for peanut butter toast but mean mummy won't buy it!!

Furball · 24/11/2010 17:53

peanut butter? - I can't hear you la la la la la la I can't hear you la la la

NormaSknockers · 24/11/2010 18:32

Oh bugger bint can you use your weekly allowance and right it off as a treat?

Don't worry furball all the exercise will have made a difference :)

Grin thighs - why not buy the low fat PB? That's what I buy, you can't really taste the differnce and it's not as point heavy

bintofbohemia · 24/11/2010 19:19

Yeah, but I've noticed that I tend to get a massive munch on at the start of the week and end up on starvation rations at the back end. Must be more organised and not have shite in the house!

Lucky2010 · 24/11/2010 19:45

Evening all, how we doin?

Can I ask what you would point a roasted veg and mozzarella cheese panini at? I had lunch out today whilst Christmas shopping with a friend. This seemed the best option where we went for lunch, believe it or not! The 'cafe' is not in the eat out book but a similar panini is in the starbucks bit as 11 points, but there was quite a lot of cheese and it was quite big. I think I'm gonna call it 15, what d'you reckon? (Bearing in mind I was way out on the Gu dessert last week!!!).

Took a banana and apple in bag and resisted chocolate and friends chips.

Welcome more newbies.

Think I might have to give this 'shredding' a go...I used to regularly do the Davina DVDs when my babies were still babies, and DH used to snigger at me saying I was "going off to do Davina"....I think it just conjured up a weird lesbian fantasy in his head Hmm!!!!

collision · 24/11/2010 21:03

1.5lbs off tonight!

6.5lbs off on pro points now. Grin

24lbs off in total!

androbbob · 24/11/2010 21:22

boodlebot - I pointed Quavers as 2 also - that was for a pack from the multi bag - so possibly a little smaller than the standard one bought in a shop.

thighs and collision - great loss there - well done!

Managed a good day today - was out over lunchtime and took my stuff with me and the lad I was out on site with went to the Chippy! Sod! I stole one chip and really enjoyed it - was purely to keep me warm honest!

Had a light tea and I am within points today - found a class to weigh in for Friday morning - not too local - about 6 miles away. Will dip in there, get weighed and then off to finish my christmas shopping! WIll take healthy snacks to have instead of lunch and going on own so not tempted to pig out!

I am out Saturday evening - Chinese takeaway with friends at her house, but driving so not drinking - will probably use all my weekly points then! What is my best chinese choice - anyone have the eating out book? Thanks!

Hope everyone else ok - this cold weather must burn more calories purely to keep warm!

Morning everyone Grin

bob would it be helpful to have a weekly meal planner? Or stock up on WW bars or low pointed treats so you don't feel you're depriving yourself? I bought a 4 pack of cadbury's flakes when I did my shopping as they come out at 4 PPs each (slightly smaller then the standard bars) which I have as a treat so I feel like I haven't had to give up chocolate but it's fairly low pointed.

Lucky I would say about 15 PPs too, was there a wrapper on it? I'm so sad, I always take my calculator with me and stand there working out the PPs Blush Well done on resisting chocolate and chips, no easy task! I did snigger at DH saying you were 'going off to do Davina' I'm very immature in my humour Grin

collision well done on your loss, excellent!

androbb well done on not scoffing a load of chips a lunchtime and for staying within points! Re the chinese the lowest pointed things are vegetable curry (8PPs), Special Chow Mein (9PPs), Kung Po Chicken (9 PPs) and of the veggie dishes are fairly low, Egg Fried Rice is high at 16 PPs but that's for the entire tub so would only be 8PPs for half, If you let me know what you'd usually eat I can look up the PPs value for you?

justabout stop weighing yourself you bugger Wink It'll be fine, stick to your points from now on and it'll be fine Grin

I'm going to make that garlicy lemon chicken from the My Week book for dinner tonight, looks very filling for 12 PPs - here's hoping!

hmc · 25/11/2010 11:34

Wow - busy thread (which is great) but hard to keep track! I have read everyone's contributions, honest!

Well done thighsmadeofcheddar and collision on your weight losses. I lost 1lb last night and am mildly pissed off considering the amount of exercise I have done: a mixture of resistance strength training and cardiovascular for the last 6 days out of 7 for around 45 minutes each session. Have also kept within propoints and tracked like a trainspotter, so feel I deserve at least 2! Perhaps it will mean a compensating bigger loss next week (fingers crossed)

Off tomorrow for a weekend away with the girls (leaving dcs and menfolk behind)- am taking my propoints calculator with me and hoping for the best!

Good luck to everyone today with sticking to the plan x

bintofbohemia · 25/11/2010 12:18

Morning everyone.

Norma - you are right, and am back on course today. Had some (pointless)ratatouille for lunch with tons of cous cous which was only 4pp. Pointless curry for tea tonight with rice - 4pp.

I reckon if I keep my daily points under 20 today it might atone for yesterday? (I know that's not ^technically how it works, but can't do any harm, can it?) Have friends coming for a meal tomorrow and need to plan around that too.

Well done everyone who's doing a better job at this!

Amanderrr · 25/11/2010 12:51

Collision and Thighs ~ Well done both of you on your loses. The 30 Shred... Thighs, you're far more self diciplined than me! How are you feeling today? Have you passed the post work-out 'I ache so much this might be flu' stage yet?

Had v. bad day yesterday. Started well with an omelette and two bacon medallions and 3 WW toasts for 8PPs and then had a light choc mousse for lunch as that was what I fancied for 2PPs then DS3 and I popped out to the shops and it all went downhill.

DS3 shared a Bounty with me which just made me want more chocolate really. I bought a box of cocoa dusted almonds in Waitrose and DS3 and I scoffed the lot walking between Waitrose and Costa Coffee where I had a large frosted mint hot chocolate with cream on the top!

Popped into Morrisons (Had to buy Just Dance 2 as DS3 and I have played the first one ad nauseum for the last couple of days and if I hear 'Pump Up the Jam' one more time... ) and bought two bags of pistachios and ate them for dinner. PPs? Thousands would be my guess.

I didn't even want the second bag but reasoned it would be better to just eat them and get them out of the way. Confused

Haven't eaten anything yet today but my plan is two lean sausages, tomatoes and toast (8PPs) for lunch and then an omelette later for dinner to try to make up for yesterdays pig fest.

How's everyone else doing?

Amanderrr · 25/11/2010 12:53

Well done HMC too! You'll probably see the fruits of your exercise labour next week so chin up. Smile

NormaSknockers · 25/11/2010 13:19

Well done on your loss hmc have a fab time away and good on you taking your calculator Grin

Good on you getting back on track bob it can be hard to do that so well done for getting focused, I think staying slightly under your points today should be ok, it's got to balance it out I would think. I would do the same thing anyway Wink

Amanaderrr don't beat yourself up over it, we all have times where we have a binge or a complete blow out, it's not worth feeling guilty over. Forget about it now and move on, don't starve yourself though, you'll only end up hungry and reaching for the snacks. Be sensible with your food from now on, maybe try and find some low pointed (or 0 pointed) foods to fll up on to help balance it out a bit :)

Food's going ok today, WW bar for breakfast (2PPs), eggy bread and a slice of bacon for lunch (5 PPs) dinner will be 12PPs so I have 11 left, think I may be using some of those in a minute as I have the munchies!!

vnmum · 25/11/2010 13:31

Hi everyone, well done so far on this weeks weight losses. I weighed in this morning and stayed the same. I' ok with it though as i expected a gain coz i went well over my weekly points and i'm due on so normally gain when i'm retaining water.

hmc sometimes if you have increased your exercise considerably or started something new then your body can retain extra water especially if you've increased your resistance exercise coz your muscles hold on to water to help repair them so if you don't drink enough to counteract this you may well gain or maintain at the scales until your body adjusts. It is disheartening though when you've put all that effort in but don't feel like you've reaped the rewards

Amanderrr · 25/11/2010 14:28

Yes, you're right Norma. Guilt is just a waste of time. It won't cancel out any of the pistaschio mountain I ate yesterday. The best I can do is try to 'store' this cross feeling I have with myself and then remember it next time I'm in danger of ordering a large hot chocolate instead of an Americano or near the nut aisle.

Garlicky lemon chicken sounds delicious! Your profile says you're in Chaos City. Is that anywhere near SE London?

Seriously though, I wish I could be arsed to cook. I've looked at lots of recipes in the WW books/leaflets and it all looks so time consuming and complicated. I wish WW would hold some cookery classes or bring out a DVD for those of us who would rather watch and learn than follow a list in a book.

thighsmadeofcheddar · 25/11/2010 14:31

Hello all,

I'm still alive, thanks for the concern Amanderr. My thighs are literally on fire. . I have just done day 2, god knows how I will be tomorrow.
Lucky, come shred with me! Please!

Amanderr - if I was you, I would take it that you've used your 49 points and then try and be extra good for the rest of the week. Don't let it get you down.

I went out last night but managed to eat ok and only had 2 (lovely) glasses of wine.

Today's plan:

B: Fruit and Fibre
L: 2 lean sausages, tomato, 1 x toast
D: WW Lasagne & steamed veg

Snacks: Bar, fruit.

Good luck all x

bintofbohemia · 25/11/2010 16:34

What is shredding?

thighsmadeofcheddar · 25/11/2010 16:36

Bint,

It's that mad trainer woman from the US version of The Biggest Loser. A 20 min exercise DVD that KILLS.

bintofbohemia · 25/11/2010 17:28

Ooooh. Will have a look for that, sounds good!

vnmum · 25/11/2010 19:06

Thighs I will shred with you. I did day 1 last week then never did it again coz i got a cold but am planning on starting again tomorrow. I need to tone up before the 10th december and i know that i can see vivsble results in that time with the shred
