Weightwatchers ProPoints Plan

1000 replies

squashedfrogs · 08/11/2010 22:14

I've been following WW online for a few years on and off and today my account has changed to the new ProPoints plan. I haven't yet looked into this properly but was wondering if anyone else knew much about it?

I know there is another thread where someone (sorry can't remember who) was testing the new plan, has it been easy to follow & does it work?

gingernutlover · 21/11/2010 18:36

ahthanks NORMA, they look really cool

Did you point the tiny bit of icing on each one or not btoher?

NormaSknockers · 21/11/2010 18:46

No I didn't bother as it's such a teeny amount, would only be 0.5 a best I think!

androbbob · 21/11/2010 20:46

Norma - the gingerbread men look fab - may make some in a few weeks with the kids when I have reached my 5% goal Grin

collision - what a trial of a weekend you have had but at least you are out the other side now! Salad for the rest of the week or stir fry veggies!

lucky - hope you are back on the waggon again - we all need good weight losses for this week!

I have been ok food wise today - also went to the gym and flogged myself for 40 minutes on the cardio machines! Had a light breakfast and lunch and an average tea but tipped the edge by having this profiterole dessert from Lidl - was fab but 7 PP! Not worth it really but we generally only have a proper pud on a sunday. I too had no roasties with my tea to save points!

I do think it is easy to be good for a week, especially the first week when motivation is high - so we really need each other to get through the next few weeks!

Here's to a good start to the week!

NormaSknockers · 21/11/2010 21:27

Well done on the gym androb and sounds like your food is going well, don't worry about the pud, once in a while is good for you I think - good for the morale Grin

Absolutely agree with you about the motivation, I'm wobbling today as I'm dreading tomorrows WI, really don't think I've lost :(

harverina · 21/11/2010 21:36

Oh dear I have had a bad day. Went christmas shopping and went to wagamamas. Picked what I thought would be the most healthy but since getting home I have bee dreadful...had a salad bowl from morrisons with lots of creamy pastas etc and then a kitkat chunky Blush Feel terrible after being so good yesterday.

So...I'll be making lots of soup this week and trying to fill up on that till my weigh in on Wednesday Sad

boodleboot · 21/11/2010 23:31

hi can i join u lot pls? ive been reading for the last wk and had my second weigh in yesterday....start weight was a horrific 15st 8lb (in my defence my baby is only ten wks old!!!) and after starting the pp plan last sat my weigh in yest showed a four lb loss this wk! i am aiming to get to my pre preg weight of twelve and a half which altho souinds a lot still is a weight im actually slim at! i think im just heavy!!

i had my treat day yest and ate fam sized bag of maltesers for 25pts but felt crappy after....really crappy like id let myself down after making the healthy choices all week...i have also felt a bit despondent today and wanted to eat crap but thankfully havent....i used the online esource site as a distraction. im on 48 daily points as eclusovely breastfeeding but to be honest stuck last wk to 35 points wiv sat as a bit of a treat day. didnt use my full 49slush fun pts and didnt eat my exercise pnts either...

i want to be in this for the long haul to get back to gorgeousness and reckon some support is just the thing to help me.... :)

NormaSknockers · 22/11/2010 07:21

Morning all,

harverina were you able to point it roughly? Did you have enough weekly left to use those? Don't beat yourself up, we all fall off the wagon sometimes, it's important not to dwell on it, what's done is done, just get back on and stay on track from now on. Don't starve yourself to try and balance it out, just eat sensibly, if you've gone over your weekly go for a swim or a long walk to gain yourself a few activity points but don't use them. Don't deny yourself food otherwise you'll fall off the wagon again IYKWIM?

Hi boodlebot welcome to the thread and well done on your loss so far Grin

Not sure what a kilo is in lbs but it's still a loss justabout and that's what counts, you lost even though you had a lovely treat out, that's the positive side, the amount doesn't matter. It's a loss and in the right direction so that's great!

LeeWT · 22/11/2010 07:51

boodle !!!!!

Welcome! We must be destined to be on mn together..

Don't feel bad, I was 17 stone as of when ds was born now down to 16 4 after some dieting myself and then ww for the last two weeks (actually whoever did the list is it weight loss so far? If so I've lost 4.5lbs in 2 wks!)

had a bit of a bold weekend in that I didn't point at all, didn't hve Chinese or drink which was quite restrained but had couple packets crisps and chocs and I'm quite annoyed at myself as I still felt like I was going without and still went over my points.. Going to try & get a walk in tonight..

Thanks for all the recipes everyone oh and yhanks for all the support (and poem) for when I only lost a lb! :-D

mmmmm going to make those gingerbread men today once dd is at school - she loves gingerbread so I will have help eating them

we went to frankie and bennies last night, and I was very good, had their 2 courses for £10 deal, and had the caesar salad and a fruit salad for pudding with a scoop of ice cream - very proud of myself because I managed to eat out Plus stay within daily points. I am saving my weekly points for tomorrow when I go to the cinema to see Harry Potter 7, am planning popcorn Smile no WI this week at a meeting because Harry Potter clashes so I will WI at home.

I have an early xmas meal out at the weekend too so will save my next lot of weekly points for that, I have no idea how to point it to be honest so I am just going to eat , light all day and then assume it has used all my weekly points (fingers crossed)

I really want to lose another half stone before xmas, well done on all your losses, large and small, wieght lost is wieght lost!

vnmum · 22/11/2010 08:43

morning all,

well i went over my weekly points again last night. I'm feeling crap with a cold and possible chest infection and ended up having chocolate as comfort food. so i've now got 12 points to try and make up with exercise when i can't do anything strenuous coz my asthma is playing up with this cold, grrrr.

I'm not feeling that hungry though so maybe if i'm off my food today it will balance itself out. I know your not meant to save points out of your daily allowance but surely what i don't eat today can be taken off my weekly overspend as in maths terms it equals out?

thighsmadeofcheddar · 22/11/2010 09:03

Hello all,

Hope everyone is doing well. I've had a bad weekend, I think, foodwise. Not awful, just not great. (lamb tagine sat night, pesto chicken pasta sunday lunch - sigh!) Anyway, I'm drawing a line under it and moving on. My goal this week is to maintain. I don't think I have much chance of loss, so to stay the same would be great. Weigh in is Wednesday so fingers crossed.

Today:

B: Fruit & Fibre
L: Ham, salad
D: pasta, low fat c cheese and bacon

S: fruit, bar

NormaSknockers · 22/11/2010 09:39

LeeWT get back on track from now, little bit of walking and being sensible should see you right.

justabout don't do a sneaky weigh in because if it doesn't say what you want it to you could get dis-heartened. You lose this week, focus on that, stay on track and you might get fab results next week Grin

gingernut let us know how your gingerbread go. We only have 2 left of the 16 I made - I'm only responsible for the loss of 2 Grin Well done on being good in F&B, sounds like you did well!

vnmum if you eat under your daily today I can't see why that wouldn't balance out your weekly. Makes sense to me.

thighs Getting back on track can be hard so well done for hopping back on board.

WI tonight, not sure if I've lost weight but I've definately lost inches, 11.5 in the last 2 weeks Shock

Furball · 22/11/2010 11:55

have just made a completely hummongous pan of minestrone soup left out the potato to keep the points down.

I think it works out at about 4 points per 1/2 litre of soup! - hopefully filling enough without bread.

bintofbohemia · 22/11/2010 11:56

Oh dear me. I never go out normallly but this weekend has been big, two gigs (and booze) and a bit too much eating. Have actually not even calculated the damage, am just trying to be virtuous today. Weigh in tomorrow. It's not going to be pretty. Sad

Furball · 22/11/2010 11:56

ooh I didn't use oil - and I didn't count the stock cube, but still.....

Furball · 22/11/2010 11:57

I won't make my first weigh in tomorrow - my ds is ill and it's in the day.

I'll have to scout around for an evening one this week

ClaireDeLoon · 22/11/2010 12:06

I'm going to rejoin weightwatchers tonight. I'm currently the biggest I have ever been and would like to lose half a stone before Christmas.

What sort of weekly weight loss have you ladies been experiencing on the new plan?

NormaSknockers · 22/11/2010 12:46

furball I wouldn't worry about counting the tock cube as by the time you devided it it wouldn't even be half a point per serving! Hope you manage to find a meeting you can go to this week :)

bob don't fret just yet, you never know you might get lucky and stay the same Grin

Hi Claire the losses have been really good on the nre plan, there was a thread total of about 55lbs. I lost 6lbs in my first week, 2 weigh in tonight and alothough I'm not if I've lost weight I've lost 10.5 inches in the last 2 weeks!

Furball · 22/11/2010 12:49

thanks normas - (fab name btw Smile)

Soup was delicious - had 2 huge bowls for 4 points! You really must make it.

ds who is a minestrone soup-aholic said it was nicer than heinz (his favourtite) and scoffed the lot. Grin

androbbob · 22/11/2010 13:16

Hello and welcome to BoodleBoot - join the gang - we need the motivation too!

Justabout.. - thats about a pound, right? Still a loss and you are lighter than two weeks ago! Stick with it and we will be at least 5lb lighter by Christmas!

gingernutlover - well done for eating out and staying within points - I think that we all need to remember that it is the occasion of going out to eat with friends / family rather than the lovely food - you dont have to prepare it or do the washing up and I reckon a salad always tastes better when someone elase makes it!

Vnmum - choclate is an official cold / chest infection remedy dontcha know! I think in the grand scheme of things it will all balance out over a week!

furballs - dont forget that you will weigh heavier in the evening than in the morning, so if your loss is not as great as you expect, then it will catch up with you next week when you weigh at your regular class.

Waves 'hi' to Clare - welcome to the gang!

I have been ok today and planned out my food for the next three days - makes it easier in the morning to know what is for tea and what I am having for lunch! I have two staple breakfasts and jsut rotate them - involves little thought and effort which suits me fine as it is a madhouse here on a morning getting two sorted fr school and nursery - lazy bones the lot of them!

Been to the gym and did a cardio class - was a lovely shade of purple after that {Grin Having a duvet afternnon with DS (3) watching Playhouse Disney until school pick up time!

Keep up the good work ladies - we will shine at christmas!

gingernutlover · 22/11/2010 14:06

yum, made the gingerbread men this mroning and they are very yummy, although my dough was very sticky so i just made large cookies (next time will put in fridge for a bit before rolling out I think)

i am going to plan my weeks meals too - makes me feel more in control and I dont panic and make stupid decisions when I am tired.

I only lost 1.5lbs the first week on the new plan but I am hoping that the next time i go to meeting I will see a bit more, as I am missing this weeks WI. Have got 2 nights out before then so will be testing the theory of the 49 weekly points I think - will be impressed if I lose after eating them all.

Amanderrr · 22/11/2010 17:06

I've been awol for a few days as I've not been tracking but I'm ready to start again as I've missed the feeling of being in control (Or at least aware) of how much I'm eating.

Bad day so far though. I had an egg and two WW toasts for breakfast which was 4PPs but a friend came over this afternoon so out came the biscuits. Started well with two WW choc chip biscuits for 3PPs but then moved on to the 'hard stuff' and had a couple of wafer biscuits and about five party rings. They must be about 2PPs each so I had about 17PPs worth of biscuits. Such a waste of points!

So I'm now up to 21PPs and we're supposed to be going out for dinner tonight after DP has been to his weigh in at WW. I think I'll just write today off and start again tomorrow.

Hopped on the scales this morning and was 9st 3lbs still, so I haven't done any real damage (As yet) but I would have had a good loss this week if I'd stuck to the plan. Cross with myself really.

Hey ho, tomorrow is a new day.

Good luck at your WI this evening Norma and hello to all. Smile
