Weightwatchers ProPoints Plan

1000 replies

squashedfrogs · 08/11/2010 22:14

I've been following WW online for a few years on and off and today my account has changed to the new ProPoints plan. I haven't yet looked into this properly but was wondering if anyone else knew much about it?

I know there is another thread where someone (sorry can't remember who) was testing the new plan, has it been easy to follow & does it work?

Oh Normas that's a shame, always a bummer when you spend points on something that you feel is disappointing.

Collision I love bread so had I commented this morning I may have felt inclined to eat some.......... I have to stay away from bread.... Sad

RiojaLover75 · 20/11/2010 19:22

Your post was like food porn to me.... I had to look away Grin

harverina · 20/11/2010 20:45

Hi everyone,

Your all doing so well!

I had a chinese last night. Not sure how to point it...it was a meal in the one box (£4.50 bargai!). Had Kung Po Car Sui with fried rice. Just going to assume that I have used my 49 weekly points which is fine as I really really enjoyed it. It was worth every point Smile

rioja, you have probably eaten your roast dinner by now, but yorkshire puddings are usually 1 point, although you'd need to check the brand and size to be on the safe side.

androbbob · 20/11/2010 22:35

Well all going ok here - had a light day eating wise and I have only had 23 points! I am not going to eat the other 6 points as there is no point! I finally got round to doing my Monthly Pass thing - she only gave me the book on Wednesday so spent half an hour putting in the last three days food. Officially I have 7 weekly points left for the next 4 days on top of my daily allowance!

Not a major problem as I ate a whole, yes whole chocolate orange on Thursday - it was staring at me from the cupboard and was supposed to be a chrstmas resent for my Dad - bit of a family joke! Well, I have to get another one now and wasted 24 PP on it! Wasnt even that great! After lunch and tea out yesterday, I am quite keen to eat well over the next few days - I need to lose 6lbs to ger my 5% which is my first goal and I would like that in the next 3 weeks!

What is the first mini goal or target you are all aiming for?

Furball · 21/11/2010 07:46

my first goal is the 5% too = 8 lbs

Had a lovely tea last night - did 1 x poached egg, 2 x large mushrooms, 2 x bacon, a few baked beans, tomatoes, 1 x slice of bread and a splodge of ketchup

Twas lovely and really filling followed by a handful of grapes and a pear.

am going to a do a 'low point' creamy curry for lunch today.

will use 0% yoghurt at the end and have it with poppodoms (cooked in the microwave with frylight) instead of rice - oh and a splodge of mango chutney - yum!

Lucky2010 · 21/11/2010 08:42

Morning chaps. I have been chuckling to myself at some of the last few posts.....'food porn'.....Grin.

Collision I feel your pain. I was away on a study day all day yesterday and DH did baking with the kids...so now I have a big tin full of home-made biscuits looking at me...FFS!!!

Started off badly on my course, had 4 custard creams in the morning (8pps!!!!!!) then text DH to confess and he was really cross with me and sent a snotty reply...which actually helped cos I felt like I had been told off and therefore was much better rest of day. Lunch was put on for us, and I chose to eat brown bread SW's with ham and egg, lots of 'free' raw veg (no dip) and lots of fruit. It was mega hard as there was lovely big flapjacks (my kinda food porn!) and cakes etc....I took a WW toffee bar so that I could have something nice at tea break. I got home after long drive and had wine Blush and pretzels Blush.

I also had a quite a bit of choc at work on Friday.

I am annoyed with myself but I'm back on track today.....

Reading the thread, it seems that a few of us have fallen off the wagon a bit this week. Let's try and keep each other motivated!!!

Sennakot has worked.....that's a weight off my mind Grin Blush.

TIP for choc lovers.....the WW rich toffee bars taste just like double deckers and are only 2pps....a real treat!! (they are unfortunately much smaller than double deckers, but still quite a chunky fill!)

Going to pizza express tomorrow Hmm. I will either have a salad or a C&T pizza with lots of extra veg. My official WW weigh in Tuesday morning Hmm.

Have a good sunday all....

is corn on the cob free??? (no butter)

Lucky2010 · 21/11/2010 08:45

I would just like to clarify that my DH is not a w**ker, he is wonderful and genuinely helps me and supports me...I had been telling him that I was gonna be strong on the course with all the food put on and he was only trying to help. I just re-read my post and it made him sound a bit nasty....which he is not!!

RiojaLover75 · 21/11/2010 08:52

harverina the yorkshires were waitrose mini ones and 1 ppt each, onion gravy 2 ppts per 1/4 pot, 100g roast lamb 5ppts and lots of free veggies, no potatoes for me. 9ppts in total. I figured I could sacrifice potatoes for the yorkshires Grin

RiojaLover75 · 21/11/2010 09:00

Corn on the cob is 2ppts for a 125g cob Lucky

collision · 21/11/2010 10:02

Thank you for feeling my pain everyone.

DH then came home with my fave red Lindor chocolates! Shock

He wants me fat doesnt he?

vnmum · 21/11/2010 10:33

Good morning everyone.

I remembered to put my weight from this weeks WI on the online weight tracker and i got my 5% on thursday.Grin just got 8lbs to go to my 10% now, i'm aiming to get that before christmas.

My DS has been asking me to bake cakes all weekend and I have been trying to put it off but he keeps asking and i feel mean not doing it just so I won't pig out on them again like i did last week. I will have to be strong.lol

Rioja I would probably sacrifice potatoes for yorkshires too, i love yorkshires. when i go to my mums for sunday roast she always makes yorkies and i normally have about 3 or 4 Blush

well have a good sunday everyone and i will let you know how i get on with the cakes!

NormaSknockers · 21/11/2010 13:36

Hello all Grin

androb crikey at the chocolate orange being 24 PPs....mind you it's made me want to go and buy one & have half tonight in front of the X-Factor Blush

Lucky well done for getting back on track, sometimes that can be the hardest thing I think! I got what you meant about your DH, mine often hides the chocolate from me as he knows I'll sniff it out and eat it. Others on the outside may think he's being mean but it actually helps me when he does that as I have no self control Grin

Rioja so don't blame you giving up your potatos so you could have the yorkshires, I would do the same thing, far nicer IMO!

Collision did you succumb and eat the Lindor choccies?

vnmum well done on your 5%, fab work!

I made a load of gingerbread men yesterday and was delighted to find they're only 4PPs each and not small either so enjoying them Grin Going to make some jam tarts in a bit, they used to be 2.5 points on the old system so guessing they'll be about 4-5 PPs don't think I'll bother eating any!

I missed breakfast as DH got up with the DC so I slept in 'til 11:30 Shock (Soooooo needed it though!) so I had a brunch of bacon, scrambled eggs and spaghetti hoops! Got some chicken drumsticks out for my dinner as DH on lates so will cook DC dinner seperately and have mine once they're in bed.

chebbs · 21/11/2010 14:36

Just had filet fish and fries from macdonalds lol oh dear :-( have no idea how many points that would be any ideas????

collision · 21/11/2010 14:54

oh my goodness - it gets worse!

DH has spent the morning making donuts and deepfrying them sothewholehousesmellsofdeepfatfryingness
and I have not touched a single one!

So far I have given in to a little french bread, no chocs and no donuts!

NormaSknockers · 21/11/2010 14:55

It's 18 in total chebbs - 9 for the fish and 9 for the chips (if they were a medium size?)

vnmum · 21/11/2010 15:18

well done collision on not eating the donuts. I would find it hard to resist, it's like when you walk past the donut stalls in town and all you can smell is donuts. I have to walk past them very quickly so i don't succumb to the 5 for £2 or whatever offers they do, coz i would eat all 5 Grin

collision · 21/11/2010 15:22

The thing is that I am so scared that I am about to binge on everything that I have had a banana and branflakes today and that is it!

NormaSknockers · 21/11/2010 15:40

You're doing well collision, I would have eaten seven one by now!

bigTillyMint · 21/11/2010 15:48

O Collision, I feel for you - I love bread and the smell of fresh baking is so hard to resist Smile

Well we went out for a curry buffet Shock at lunchtime - no idea how many pps I ate! I picked the chicken pieces out of the korma and had it with salad instead of rice, but I also had a load of prawns in spinach and some chick peas and mixed veg, and about a 1/4 piece of naan bread and a popadum.
How many pps do you reckon?

NormaSknockers · 21/11/2010 16:11

bigTillyMint according to the online tracker a poppadum is 1 PP, quarter of a nann is 3 PPs, quarter of a jar of Uncle Bens Korma sauce is 5 PPs and 100g of prawns is 2 PPs so I would hazard a guess and allow about 18-20 PPs for everything? That's only guessing though!

chebbs · 21/11/2010 16:19

NormaSknockers - Thanks for that :-)best stick to salad for the rest of the day! lol

gingernutlover · 21/11/2010 16:25

NORMA - would you mind posting your gingerbread recipe please, I love gingerbread and 4PP each sounds good.

NormaSknockers · 21/11/2010 17:17

Course no problem :)

350g plain flour
1-2 teaspoon ground ginger (you can add more if you like it really gingery)
1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
100g butter or margarine
175g soft light brown sugar
1 egg
4 tablespoons golden syrup

Put the flour, ginger and bicarb in a bowl and rub together.

Mix in the sugar. Then add the egg and syrup and mix together to form a dough.

Roll the dough out to about half a cm thick, cut out your shapes (I got 16 good sized gingerbread men making it 4 PPs each but obviously if you get more it will lower the PPs value) then pop onto a lined baking tray and cook on 190 (170 fan) for 10-15 minutes (they rise a bit too so allow room to spread) leave to cool on the tray for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Then once cooled decorate however you like - I gave my pants Grin There's a pic in my profile Wink

bigTillyMint · 21/11/2010 17:18

Thanks Norma! I reckon the amount I ate would have been more than that, so I'm going to say 30pps.

RiojaLover75 · 21/11/2010 18:15

Hmmmm just had lamb and pea risotto. 120g risotto rice (12 PP), 160g left over lamb (8PP), 80g peas (2PP), onion and garlic with chicken stock cube, divided by 2. 11PP per person, it was a good size portion too Grin. Followed by melon.
