hello losers, new thread here!

OP posts:
Zempy · 04/10/2026 17:16

I gained half a stone over summer, so I have serious work to do.

HeidiLite · 04/10/2026 18:46

half a stone over summer is not a huge amount. But yes I agree that I also need to keep an eye on it. As 3 kilos becomes 5 and then 10 and that's what got me to where I was before.

I’ve also put weight on and can’t seem to control my eating 😳. I did a 7.5 jab on Tuesday and did 5 today, I’m going to jab every 5 days for next 2 weeks before I go away and pass move to 10mg for a while. Thanks for new thread @HeidiLite. I’ve not done a Nordics cruise but potentially interested, I’ve never cruised and can’t decide whether I’d like it!!
pleased to hear things are getting better my ladyjane.

user7172 · 04/10/2026 20:45

Oops didn’t mean to change my name here, it’s me 26inprogress 👋🏻

BreezyPeer · 04/10/2026 20:51

Evening everyone!
I too have gained half a stone over the summer. Time to do some work before Christmas! Xx

HeidiLite · 04/10/2026 21:25

26inprogress - I'm looking at Havila cruise at the moment, with a Lofoten stopover. Has Viking experience for DS, Sami village, reindeers, huskies, ATV safari, Icelandic ponies, all kinds of other nature and village activities and fjords of course.
I've done one cruise only, in Caribbean and it was much better than I expected. Also reasonably small ship though, not sure I would like one of those massive ones that look like a floating Benidorm.

👋 in a fit of peak insomnia, been awake since 11pm.

Jins · 05/10/2026 06:57

Thanks for the new thread!

There seems to be a few people fighting gains at the moment and increasing doses. Only yesterday I was reminiscing with DH about the early days on MJ when all I could manage was a bowl of soup and now I can push through quite well on 3 times the dose. My weight has been static the last few weeks after losing a couple of pounds in the summer but it’s comfort food season so anything could happen.

I need to get back on Vinted and try to sell a few things. Mostly shoes and jeans that have been charity shop successes but so far remain unworn. I did a mini wardrobe sort yesterday and I’m annoyed that some of the things I save for ‘best’ don’t fit any more. I need to be quite ruthless.

Hope the week goes well and that those with issues at work manage to navigate them as well as possible.

HeidiLite · 05/10/2026 07:40

yes I keep fluctuating between 58-60 kilos, also need to keep an eye on things. But I also really want to build muscle, have gotten considerably stronger, and for this I need to eat my protein. Very delicate balance to eat just enough.

I really need to sort my shoes and bags. I have so many pretty and good quality shoes that I never, ever wear. Just standing there gathering dust. And I need the space as will start with the basement renovation very soon. Vinted is not so great for selling nowadays though unless you're happy to let things go for peanuts (great for buying of course). So I may just drop a lot into charity collection box.

Zempy · 05/10/2026 07:58

I took a 10mg dose last night. Feeling good on it so hopefully a month of that will help me ditch at least four pounds of my gain. It’s just annoying when waistbands feel tight!!

I am in court all week so few opportunities to snack. It does leave me shattered by Friday though.

I love shoes, but really can’t wear them. My super wide feet blister so easily. I’m in boots, trainers, Birkenstocks and ballet flats if I have to wear an actual shoe. I’m going to sort through my shoes and get a load of stuff on Vinted next weekend.

HeidiLite · 05/10/2026 08:33

I need some help to let go of things that I simply never ever use. For example I have several very nice decent sized handbags. But - I wear a business packpack for work, as it needs to fit my laptop. For everyday use I have a tiny crossbody, just enough to fit credit cards and phone. For travelling, again a backpack. So I don't actually use those medium/large handbags, ever. Why do I keep them?

I think our current weight issues are just typical of life, as long as we get back on track and lose it’s ok. I’m hoping anyway!! I’ve got reflux today, probably because I ate so much at the weekend and jabbed again within 5 days but I’m happy to accept that. I’m hoping to lose a couple of pounds before next Friday, that will put me within 3 pounds of where I was for ages and I’m ok with that. If South Korea is anything like Japan, we’ll be doing a heck of a lot of steps so hopefully won’t put any more on!!
I’ve sold a load of old clothes on Vinted, some for less than I hoped but I just want rid!
Couple of recruiter calls today and a face to face interview on Wednesday . It would be nice to have something before I go away🤞🏻. Have a good week losers.

HeidiLite · 05/10/2026 09:58

very curious to hear about South Korea, also on the list. And Japan but looks like that's for April 28 and not 27 as I originally planned, the school half term dates work better.

Cannot recommend Japan highly enough. We loved it: been twice and def on our list to go back. I’ll let you know about South Korea. Can’t wait!!

Hello 👋
Checking in to new thread. No new news from me. Considering trying the pills as they are cheaper. But weight is still hovering around the 13st which is still 2st above target.

myladyjane · 05/10/2026 16:22

Test

myladyjane · 05/10/2026 16:23

I have written 4 witty and insightful posts since lovely Heidi did the new thread and none of them worked…

cloudjumper · 05/10/2026 17:47

Ooh, new thread, yay!

Thanks for the kind words about my work situation. I handed in my notice today. Bit of an anti-climax, I'm still riding high on stress/adrenaline, it'll take a while to get used to this new situation... Waiting to hear back if they will consider putting me on garden leave - I can't see why they wouldn't since they don't trust my work etc., but who knows with this company. I will self-certify this week and then get signed off if they don't put me on it (I checked, and the illness pay/procedure is not affected during my notice period, since I am not going to be on a PIP anymore).
I feel so bad about the team who are all at breaking point, but I need to look after myself now, I cannot go on like this. I will need to do some serious work on building myself up again after all this, my confidence is shot to pieces.

So for now, I will put my energy into supervising DS's GCSE revision. Greeted him with multiple history papers when he got home. He is delighted 😂

I’m so sorry to hear this, but it sounds like the right decision for you. You will get something that works for you in a company with the right culture. You’re absolutely right you need to look after yourself. Take some time and don’t let this one place knock you back. Good luck ( and if ds is anything like
mine he’ll be willing a new job for you soon 🤣)

HeidiLite · 05/10/2026 18:14

yes sorry to hear @cloudjumper and also that your team will be struggling - but you can only do so much, if the company is not cooperating. Look after yourself.

OP posts:
myladyjane · 05/10/2026 19:57

@cloudjumper I am pleased for you. Appreciate that it’s awful, leaving the team is tough and your confidence is on the floor but honestly, best thing for you. Rest, regroup and enjoy pissing ds off with your ‘help’

PenelopePondersPlenty · 06/10/2026 06:48

Well done @cloudjumper, I know it is slightly terrifying having done it myself last year. You'll need to give yourself a couple of months to decompress, but I guarantee that this time next year you will be thinking 'why the heck did I put up with that for so long', rather than anything else.

Jins · 06/10/2026 07:50

Well done @cloudjumper - you’ve done the right thing. I did something similar years ago and never looked back. It does take a while to build back the confidence they’ve stolen from you so don’t be surprised if you have a few wobbles.

I’m currently nursing a non-specific virus. The sort that has no visible symptoms but causes aches and fatigue and just general bleh. Slight improvement today so hopefully I’ve turned the corner. I’m back to preholiday weight of 8st 3.8. It’s doing nothing for my face but I’m feeling good in my clothes.

BreezyPeer · 07/10/2026 07:51

@cloudjumper well done on handing in your notice. You are brilliant so don’t let anyone reduce your self confidence!
I am having a reset. Over 11 stone today and I really want to be 10.7. I have a holiday coming up in 4 .5 weeks so I need to get back on the straight and narrow. Jabbed today after only 7 days. Really don’t know what I am going to do when my final pen runs out. . .

Zempy · 07/10/2026 08:11

@cloudjumper I resigned from a job I had previously loved, but ended up hating when I got a new micro manager. The whole organisational culture changed and it was destroying my MH.

I freelanced for nine months, rebuilding my shattered confidence bit by bit. Just take your time.

I think I am eating less this week. I will weigh myself tomorrow and see if there’s any progress.
