hello losers, new thread here!

OP posts:
user7172 · 12/10/2026 10:16

Thanks @HeidiLite 🤞🏻🤞🏻I’m definitely going to invest in a coach when ( pma!) I get it as I want to get this sorted, it’s doing my head in!! Also have an interview for another role on Friday as back up!!

Jins · 13/10/2026 11:57

I dropped to 5mg to use up a soon to be out of date pen on Sunday and I’m not sure it’s going to last the week. Might have to think about jabbing every 5 days.

Weight still hovering around 8st 4. It feels good as I’m not having to dress carefully to disguise my tum. Unfortunately my face has suffered and I’m now very much more wrinkly and my arms look awful. However it’s something I’ll have to learn to live with as I had wrinkles and saggy arms a stone and a half ago.

Flu jab today and I’m not looking forward to it.

BreezyPeer · 13/10/2026 21:47

@user7172 what a lot you have had going on!
work stress recall is the worst. Most people need the pay cheque so there isn’t any option. But work is so much of the 24 hours we get everyday that when it’s miserable the whole life is affected.
I’ve recently moved to a new role within the same company. Much much better but my old manager seems to be following me around 🙄. Still asking me for stuff.

BreezyPeer · 13/10/2026 21:52

The funeral went as well as it could 😢
@HeidiLite you are so right about women underselling themselves!
@Jins your fabulous loss is to be celebrated- whatever side effects it may have had in the skin department.
Hope the flu jab went ok
xxx

user7172 · 15/10/2026 09:07

Hi all, happy Thursday!
glad the funeral went ok @BreezyPeer and think you’re going away soon, have a great time! How’s the weight?
@Jins5mg doesn’t seem to be working for me either, I did 7.5 on Sun and will jab again before I go away tomorrow ( to be fair even that’s not working brilliantly, more on that in a mo!)
@HeidiLitehappy holidays to you too, is this Sri Lanka? You will LOVE it, can’t wait to hear about it. Hope your work stuff is now all sorted?

I’ve had a real turnaround of a week- interviews went really well and I had a verbal offer yesterday 🎉subject to references and they want to do verbal ideally, worried about ex boss but she needs to legally be careful about what she says and given she tried to get me to reconsider resigning ( I did once!) I think the worst she can genuinely say is that I lacked confidence at times, hopefully anyway! The other ex bosses I know will give great feedback so just her, I can’t quite get excited until that’s done but I know that’s ridiculous! I’ve cancelled 2 other interviews had today and tomorrow which feels good!
Sent a snotty email about payment for the contract stuff I did and I’m being paid on Friday. Seeing as all the rubbish work stuff is now resolved I’m hoping I can go away, have a fab holiday and come back and focus on getting back to goal!! On the jab note I ordered from medicine marketplace again, 2nd time and super impressed, placed order yesterday it’s arriving today!

have a great day all!

HeidiLite · 15/10/2026 09:20

@user7172 no Sri Lanka is Xmas. now going to Cyprus for a week. Hoping it will be warm enough.
Of course I have made sure I have organised plenty of activities before I leave - the builder is just finishing the new laundry room, so this evening we will need to move stuff from current laundry room to new one (again, LOT of stuff, even though I have been decluttering like a maniac) so he can do that while we're away. Plus the usual packing, cleaning the fridge, watering plans, sorting pets, getting a pedicure and lashes done...oh, a touch of work too.

Oh and lashes, I can't really be bothered with much make up nowadays, but I am pale and blonde, and if I'm totally bare faced, people get concerned and ask if I'm ill. I do not like the look of full set of fake lashes. But found a lovely Latvian lady who does brown and short extensions - so I just look like I have my own natural but great lashes. Love it!

@user7172 congratulations on the job offer! Hope ex boss behaves.

oh also anybody buying other advent calendars we haven't discussed yet? I got DD a squishy one from a facebook ad, but what arrived is pretty scammy. Looked like palm sized squishies - in reality the entire calendar is about A4 size, so the squishies must be miniscule.
Looking for some kind of a snack calendar for DS, he's not into grooming much yet. But many of them seem to be so overpriced - come on, 50 quid for a calendar that has just random cheap chocolate bars or tiny mini crisps? If aybody sees anything interesting, please share.

and do I want a cosmetics one? I do love them, but my drawers are already bursting.

user7172 · 15/10/2026 17:32

Ooh enjoy Cyprus @HeidiLite!
yes I have the Liberty Advent, I save beauty drop credit through the year and it’s my little bit of luxury at Christmas, I love it!!
I bought ds the Look fantastic grooming kit but 2 things had leaked when I checked so that’s gone back and I’m refilling my last years Liberty box with stuff for him- mini colognes, chocolate and little things I know he’ll like ( will be getting some skincare prods from South Korea too!)

Jins · 16/10/2026 05:33

Congrats on the job offer @user7172

I’m very interested in hearing about Cyprus as I have just booked a week in June next year. It’s been on the list for ages.

5mg is ok so far but I’m having to think a bit more about what I eat. I haven’t got that blissful lack of interest in food that I get on 6.25mg. How sensitive to small dose changes we are. I’m not sure that I like having to be in control this much, I much prefer the MJ to do all the heavy lifting.

I’m finally feeling a bit better after the virus followed by flu jab. Nearly two weeks out of action is no fun. I’m popping vitamin and mineral supplements to hopefully boost my immunity before the winter kicks in.

HeidiLite · 16/10/2026 05:49

we've been there before and the island was lovely. Was in September though so June experience may differ, probably gets quite hot. We have school holidays the next 2 weeks and the trouble with end of October is that most of Europe is already too cold. Cyprus is also only around mid-20s, but should at least be sunny. Planning some sightseeing and activities, as weather should be just perfect for that.

OP posts:
supafish · 16/10/2026 19:51

God where have I been ! Missed all year on here 🤦‍♀️
All ok with Supafish , still maintaining 50 pounds weight loss although had lost 55 and have managed to gain 5 pounds following surgery in the summer. Can’t bloody loose it and have no will power at the mo. Taking 2.5 at mo but gonna up it to 5.0 next month in the hope of some restraint.
i do love being slimmer 🤗

Zempy · 17/10/2026 13:44

I have been slightly less hungry on 10mg but it’s nothing like the early days of suppression.

In other news, I am on the NHS waiting list for hip replacement surgery. So hopefully some time in the next twelve months.

I am very worried about recovery at home alone, especially as I only have an upstairs bathroom and no handrails on stairs.

Hopefully there will be a non commode solution to this problem!!

Jins · 18/10/2026 08:58

That does sound a bit tricky @Zempy but I’m sure you won’t be the only one and they’ll have suggestions. My friend has just had a hip replacement and she’s walking around pretty well only 3 days later so hopefully you’ll have the same experience. My hips are ok thank goodness but I foresee a knee replacement at some point

Yesterday I gave myself complete freedom to pig out on whatever I fancied. Partly because the fridge is full of goodies including a very ripe Camembert and partly because I wanted to test whether I stopped eating on this lower dose. I felt absolutely stuffed in the evening and couldn’t manage the planned ice cream. So clearly the MJ is still doing something but I’m definitely getting more food noise and the anti inflammatory effects aren’t as strong. So I’ll finish this pen by dosing every five days and go back to my normal level. I think maintaining on 5mg is unlikely which is a shame but manageable.

DH is away this weekend again and I’d hoped to get stuck into some sewing but I got a paper cut on the web between thumb and finger earlier this week which has gone a bit nasty. Paper cuts punch above their weight for pain anyway but this is pretty unpleasant and I’m hunting down the antibiotic cream.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend

HeidiLite · 18/10/2026 09:49

@Zempy a friend of mine got both hips replaced quite recently (well not at the same time obviously) and he found the recoverly a lot easier than he expected, so hope it all works out for you as well.

We're in Cyprus, weather is not super hot, but should we warming up again, and it is lovely and sunny. DH is still on his diet and counted the calories in his breakfast, where he was quite restained and made healthy choices - eggs and veggies, a tiny portion of granola yogurt etc - still over 1000 kcal! Really ads up. I will consider this my 'bulking' week to build some muscle.

OP posts:
Jins · 20/10/2026 08:47

I’ve weighed in and the news wasn’t great as I’m 3lbs up. This confirms that the anti inflammatory effect on 5mg just wasn’t there. I’ve allowed for my day of stuffing myself but that wouldn’t be as much as 3lbs. So I topped up Sunday’s dose yesterday with 20 clicks and I’m already feeling more suppression. I’ve also had to get up twice in the night for a wee so must be shedding a bit of water weight. So it seems that for now I need to be on 6.25 - 6.66mg. I used the weight gain to my advantage and put my order in yesterday. Seeing as I was bang on my target weight it seemed rude not to.

Had a disaster with my new to me phone last week. I bought a new ‘armoured’ case but dropped the phone while putting it in the case and cracked the screen. Took a while to remember the phone insurance through my bank but I did eventually and took ownership of a brand new replacement yesterday. Not bad for £100 excess but I really could have found a better use for the money.

I’ve succumbed to the drop in temperature and put the winter bedding on. Resisting the urge for the fleecy nightie is proving difficult. It’s not that cold really but I’ve really felt it since coming back from Malta

hunkydory54 · 20/10/2026 12:28

Hi everyone, I think I managed to lurk throughout the last thread as I've just had a very unplanned summer. You may remember that my mum had a fall just before last Christmas and fractured her pelvis. She was recovering well and going out again after months stuck at home. Unfortunately she got a UTI and ended up in hospital in June and sadly passed away a month later. She had a lot more wrong with her than both she and we knew. My dad is still around but he has dementia so it's not been an easy time. Fortunately we've got really good carers looking after him at home. My husband also had a hip replacement op in the midst of all this.

I'm still plodding along trying to lose the last stone I'd like to. I have lost 27% of my original body weight so I might be at MJ limits. Anyway I'm going to order 15mg and see if that shifts the weight. I had to go back to 2.5mg in January and work my way back up again after doing the Wegovy switch this time last year. So onwards and downwards I hope.

@Zempy I've had 2 hip replacements and you are encouraged to get mobile again very quickly. You are taught how to use stairs and move. However, with the experience I've just had this summer with my husband, it would be good to have someone around to help for the first couple of weeks. Apart from anything else you will be shattered with the recovery from the op and your body repairing. I will say that it is definitely worth having the op done, I feel like a new person now.

Zempy · 20/10/2026 12:38

I’m sorry for your loss @hunkydory54 and it sounds like you still have a lot on your plate.

I won’t be able to have anyone here to help as my home is a tiny one bed house. I am hoping I might be eligible for a few days in a rehab centre and am considering having a handrail installed on my stairs, although I would prefer not to.

My weight seems to have stabilised at 8 st 7. I wish it was lower but 🤷‍♀️

HeidiLite · 20/10/2026 17:43

sorry for your loss @hunkydory54 and of course your dad's dementia can't be easy either. It's challenging being the sandwich generation with older parents but kids still young.

@Jins go for the fleece. needs must. I'm so cold all the time!

@HeidiLite so sorry for your loss

HeidiLite · 23/10/2026 08:03

wrong tag @BreezyPeer I'm allright as far as I know.

Last day of holidays, heading back tomorrw. Weather has been just perfect, can really recommend Cyprus this time of year. Hot enough to sunbathe and lazy around, but not too hot if you actually want to do something.

OP posts:
Zempy · 23/10/2026 08:33

I ordered myself a heated throw. Am hoping it will save me some money when I am working from home and tempted to put the central heating on. Will report back.

BreezyPeer · 23/10/2026 22:09

@HeidiLite i’m so sorry for confusing you with @hunkydory54
@hunkydory54 i am sorry for your loss xxx

Jins · 24/10/2026 09:15

I’ve managed to resist the fleecy nightie so far but I suspect that situation will change this week. It’s one of my best buys from last year and I’m tempted to get another one.

I’ve been using my duty free Prai upper arm cream for a month now and there’s an almost imperceptible improvement so I’ll carry on with it. The marine cream I bought at the same time hasn’t made much difference but feels gorgeous when I put it on so it’s being relegated to occasional use as I don’t think the results justify the full price.

My quest for a beautifully clean and scented cloakroom has now finished as I’m using the Purdy and Figg bottle with heavily diluted Asevi floor cleaner. A bottle lasted me 18 months when I used it for mopping so it’s definitely an economical option and it does a fabulous job as a spray too. DH tackled the shower cubicle with it and it’s spotless so he’s done the car interior as well.

Weight has crept back up to 8st 5 which is probably right for me. My head LOVED 8st 3 but it was too close to the next stone barrier. I’m now 53kg and want to stay there. Will jab a day early today as I’m chasing the anti inflammatory benefits.

Hope everyone else has a fabulous weekend whatever you have planned. DH has tickets to a new event aimed at the over 50s that an acquaintance is promoting but I’m really not feeling it - apart from anything else I’m ready for bed by 10 🤣

Zempy · 24/10/2026 17:58

I’m in a similar position @Jins. I loved being eight stone exactly and am not thrilled about carrying an extra half stone around, but I think I look a bit healthier.

A friend bought me the Trinny Elevator neck cream and I swear it did help a bit, but it’s £££.

My heated throw from Dreamland arrived and I bloody love it. It’s so snuggly and warm. I’m hoping it will pay for itself over the autumn and winter as it only costs 3p an hour max to run, compared to me having the GCH on all day when WFH.
