July 2026 Mounjaro starters

I started my mounjaro journey this weekend (Friday) but thought I would start a July thread as it is so close to the start of the new month.

My background - I love good food. My issue isn't necessary that I eat the wrong stuff it is just that I eat too much. I enjoy nice restaurants, Michelin stars and cooking from scratch. But my portion control is terrible. I overeat, regret it and can't leave food on my plate. I also run a food and drink related business. And I make excuses.

In the past I have lost large amounts of weight but this time I have struggled. Peri menopause, going through an adult ADHD diagnosis, a herniated disc (twice) and running your own small business isn't always conducive to WL. I was approved last year for Mounjaro via my GP and then, after my appointment, there were changes and it was pulled. It set me back massively and then, after some big bills at work, I just didn't feel like I could justify the costs and tried, but failed, to lose weight just by dieting.

Recently I went back to my GP and they did some tests and after a few different appointments I was fortunate enough to be approved again and given a prescription last week. I had my first jab on Friday and am determined to make a difference, change my mindset and get back to enjoying life again. There is a long way to go but I am taking one day at a time.

Hopefully there will be some other July starters here and we can support each other, share tips etc.

I moved to 3.75mg this week - counting clicks. I wanted to stay on 2.5mg as long as possible but I had lost nothing for three weeks and was feeling peckish all the time.

The last two mornings I’ve been feeling pretty queasy after breakfast - it feels like I’m pregnant! (I absolutely am not!)

I only lost 0.2lb this week (3 weeks in) but 5.6 in total since starting. I’ve also lost an inch off chest, arms, thigh and half an inch off hips. Seeing GP Weds and suspect he may move me up to 5 from Friday (did 4th Jab fri night). Off to France Friday night for a week so will be eating more than usual, I’m not really enjoying alcohol at the moment but suspect I’ll have the odd glass so maybe 5 is good timing (or not, depending how you look at it).

Jab 7 for me today. Golden dose last week was surprisingly easy to extract. Bolt always send an additional spare needle so it was exactly the same as taking the usual dose just a little tougher to twist! I am 14.5lbs down just 35.5 to go! Really happy to stick with 2.5 seems to be work for me. This week I did feel a noticeable drop in my appetite, I’m not sure if this is some kind of accumulative effect or if a fluctuating appetite is more usual in people less greedy than me ! Well done to everyone sticking with it through holidays and challenges ! If anyone wants a £40 off Bolt code I have one.

Had jab no.9 this morning, stayed at 3.5mg as suppression is still good. Last week I've lost 1.6lb, in the 8 weeks completed I'm down 18.6lb in total which is going fairly well but it has slowed a lot in the last few weeks. Still got a way to go...and have this week and then I'm away for a week for my birthday. I have seen that most of you who have been away have had done really well and not gone up in weight by the end of it but I am worried that I will put on a few lbs but I'm hoping for the best.
I still have a way to go with 1.5 - 2 stone to lose (depending on how I feel in myself at that point).

No.9 for me too, and staying on 5mg. I do have a little bit of an upset stomach 24hrs or so after taking 5mg but nothing horrendous.

I have had an incredibly wobbly couple of weeks mental health wise. Not lost any weight for a week but I haven't put any on which is something. Work is beating me down a bit but fingers crossed it will get better soon

I was away for a week and put on 5lbs, came home in Friday past, had a sneaky weigh in this morning and it's off again so I wouldn't worry too much

Sorry to hear this @RedFatballcould it be that stress is affecting your weight loss? Have you got any support? I wonder if there’s anything that can help you deal with this- guided meditation, going for walks, reading would often be my go to. Hope things improve for you soon x

Hi all back from holiday. Jabbed early hours of this morning (jab no.8) as haven’t injected since day I left for holiday on Saturday 16th (away for about 12 days).

Didn’t do too badly first week of holiday and could feel effects of drug especially when trying to finish dinner in evenings. Eating was a bit haphazard but on second week, joined DH and DC on eating cinnamon bun for breakfast; had enough now to last me a lifetime so won’t miss them or the cost!!

Weighed this morning and just under one pound on so not as bad as I suspected. But after a long day of travel yesterday, had fish and salad for dinner so pleased with that. No Greek yoghurt at all while away so pot bought and looking forward to it for breakfast.

I had planned for today’s 2.5mg jab to be my last dose but in a moment of madness I ordered another 2.5mg injection. I’d like to lose another half stone and I’m still not at a BMI of 25 or rather <25. So another month for me. The suppression is still there (I hope) but with the nausea gone, the desire to not eat feels less strong. Anyway, going to try and get this last half stone off over September. A pound a week will be fine and really need to focus on strength training. That’s more of a goal than the weight loss!

Back to losing 1 pound a week. Barely eating 1000kcal still so it is frustrating.

I am an August (re)starter and have posted this question in that months group, but I thought I would add it here in case more of you have some experience of switching supplier....

Has anyone switched supplier for their 2nd pen? I pretty much stuck with the same supplier last time and returned to them for my first order to complete my weight loss, mainly because I just thought it would be easier to restart with the same supplier.

But the prices now seem to encourage new customers, effectively penalising those who remain with higher prices.

Looking at monj.co.uk I can certainly get the 5mg pen for less than the £170 incl. delivery that it will cost with IQDoctor...but they were very reliable with delivery last time (apart from when it all got weird when the pricing changed last year).

Considering switching to Medicine Marketplace as they have a good base price plus some discount and also a good trustpilot score.... anyone switched to them for 2nd pen or have any other experience of them. Also it is a name that I recognise from first time around.

For anyone considering IQDoctor - I found them great last time and again for restarting - easy process, timely approval, and dispatched well - comes through royal mail, which is great for me as our postie is very reliable.

I think you responded to me earlier in the thread when I said things are moving very slowly for me. I think I've lost 2lb since then so things haven't changed much. I'm trying to tell myself that it's 2lb I wouldn't have lost otherwise and mounjaro has made it a bit easier which at this point is worth it to me.
I'm going up to 5mg in a couple of weeks so hopefully that will help.
Think I'm prob eating around 1200/1300kcals but am unable to exercise by walking much as have just had injection treatment on my knees and have to take it steady for a month or so. Maybe that's the problem.
Anyway I'm just rambling now. But solidarity!

I've stayed with the same supplier, mainly because I've been warned of hidden costs from other suppliers. I've also been watching the prices over a couple of months and they seem to change so often that I'm not sure hopping about is worth the hassle. Not for me, anyway. Also with Zava they offer £20 off if you buy 2 at once, so that helps.

@AgedPuddingI planned on doing for my last pen and then completing forgot and they took the money whilst I was away as I had a subscription set up. I’m planning on shopping around for any codes off for first purchase.

I’ve just done the golden dose, using the extra needle I get with bolt. To turn I used the same trick I use for opening stuck jars- wrapping an elastic band- and it worked quite easily. Seemed like a full dose, as in it moved down the whole time I was pressing. Going to be interesting to see if it works the same as usual

Haven’t posted in a while - life has been hectic. I’m coming to the end of week 9 and have stayed on 2.5. I’m buying through Swift Doctor and have found them very good. They seemed like a good option as they have Doctors as well as Pharmacists should I have any worries. Probably not the cheapest but I want consistency and reliability. They also offer maintenance meaning I shouldn’t need to switch provider when the time comes.

My weight loss has been slow but steady with the odd week staying the same but overall loss is still 1.5 to 2lbs a week. Earlier in the week I moved from obese to overweight 🎉

So I’ll keep plodding along as I feel really well and am still enjoying the healthier eating. I’m a tortoise rather than a hare but I’m already lighter than I’ve been for 10 years. Feeling so grateful that I’m able to do this as it’s literally life-changing!

I was trying to use the last (partial) dose in my pen, and had actually got the needle in (my body), when it delivered a tiny bit of dose then the mechanism seemed to seize up. I got some out with a different needle and syringe, but don't really know what dose I had, except that it was definitely less than the 35 clicks I had the last 3 weeks. I think I can get another dose out of what's remaining for next weekend, and have reordered a 2.5mg pen for after than, expecting to take half or just over half doses.

I'm hoping my provider is ok with a pen lasting 7 or 8 weeks - not sure what to do if it isn't.

Weigh in day today and 8th Jab due this evening.

Weekly weigh in for me today. Last week I took my first 5mg (week 6) and was sick for 3 days, not pleasant! I am undecided if I should do 5mg today or 3.5?

People have started to notice i have most weight and when I stand with my hands on my hips they feel smaller! Really happy with how its going so far!

Away in France at present so jabbed 2.5 Friday (5th dose) before we went and will jab Saturday instead as wanting to move to Mondays anyway so as to avoid having to travel with it when going away for weekends so can move towards that slowly.

have lost half a stone since starting on 31 July so am pleased with that

the food where we’re staying is terrible so not eating huge amounts, protein will be difficult this week but it’s only a week,

said to hubby that usually we would be raiding the Super-U for loads of wine and getting through a shit tonne whilst here but instead I bought one bottle and it’s still unopened - just not feeling like it!

we will do a big wine shop last day however as that will cover Christmas

it is a bit boring on the food front when you’re away with not much appetite however!!

My last post was 2pm on 28th.
4pm my stomach turned on me. Must have eaten something bad as have not stopped having D and V since. Not had anything but sips of water and flat sprite zero since.

The scales are half a pound lighter -.-

picked myself up after my wobble and have managed to lose another couple of pounds. Biggest victory is I just about fit into size 14 jeans which hasn't happened for a LONG time. Very happy with that

srill plodding along on 40 clicks from a 5mg pen which is 3.33mg, but as Bolt want me to order every 4 weeks I am building up a bit of a stockpile. Not too worried about that, but will need to watch expiry dates if I don't move up doses

When you go for 40clicks on a 5ml pen, do you get an extra dose?

You should get 2 extra doses. 40 clicks is 2/3 of a dose.
