@MrsBuntyS I went to 5 yesterday, for my second injection.

i feel fine, but the reflux/heartburn and sulphur burps are heightened. I also could tell I’d eaten fat (lamb shish and baby potatoes with some butter) as it woke me up several times last night.

i’m overall fine though, just keeping rennies to hand!

madeinthe80z · 04/07/2026 19:31

I’m doing my first official 3.75mg dose tomorrow. I’m excited! Definitely ready for an increase. They say the 2.5 to 5 jump can be the worst for side effects because it is the only time you are essentially doubling your dose! The other jumps aren’t as severe.

MrsBuntyS · 04/07/2026 20:19

Ooof thanks Ladies. Think I’m going to go with the 3.75 if I can figure it out. I’ve got half a 2.5mg pen and another 2.5mg unused pen so I should be able to manage before the new 5mg comes!!! Def able to eat more and feeling hungry and thinking about food so def time to increase! Still got 10kg to go!!! At least…. My mum is an ‘almond mom’ and not British. This morning she hugged me and said, “you look so good, so much better” lol… she will be overjoyed when I’m at my goal weight. Hahahaa!

NettleTea · 05/07/2026 10:56

I am down another 0.9kg this morning, and had my first half dose of the 5mg pen. I checked to see if the needles that my daughter had had previously on prescription (she had CF related diabetes, but with the new medications for cystic fibrosis she no longer has it) and they did, which is great as so long as I can use the pen direct Im happier to use that menthod. Im sure that I will get used to drawing it off if need be.

around a kilo a week is great. As previously, Im going for long long term use, in the hope that the lymphodema/ inflammation trials show that it is useful and it finally gets added to the prescribed medications. Im not wildly hopeful but there are numerous small things that have improved beyond the weight loss - the most notible is the horrendous IBS that meant I often didnt go out or avoided eating because I could never be too sure what would trigger it. That was an instant side effect.

my only dodgy side effects are a tendancy towards constipation if I dont keep on top of the kiwi fruit, and a bit too much burping and farting..... although I struggle with hitting the protein targets. I try not to eat processed stuff too much hence not going for the shakes, but I probably should look into those a bit more.

starting weight 94
current weight 83.1
target weight 60

@madeinthe80z Good luck with the dose jump today. I think you have been on 2.5mg for some time now, so hopefully you don't get any side effects.

I posted on the other thread that I did 4x 2.5mg, then the gold dose of 3.8mg. I was so sick with D&V that day and felt dreadful. Then 2x 3mg and this week 4mg-all of which I've had no bad side effects at all. Next week I'll be braving the 5mg. I have no idea why I had such a reaction to that golden dose?

You make a good point that 2.5mg - 5mg is the only time you double the dose, so I'd recommend anyone titrate slowly rather than just jumping up.

KittensAndCupcakes · 05/07/2026 14:22

Weighed myself yesterday and now down a total of 5kg in 9 weeks. On my third pen. Still doing 2.5mg. All the talk of horrible side effects from jumping up to 5mg has scared me so I am relieved to still be creeping downwards. Will see how I go for the rest of the pen before deciding what’s next. I have bought needles and sterile wipes as contemplating getting 5mg pen to administer 2.5mg dose more cheaply, but slightly concerned in case pen locks and won’t let me get the rest out after four doses. Is that a risk??

justasking111 · 05/07/2026 14:29

DH must have delayed his 5mg dose this week I was expecting him to be ill yesterday. But it's today instead. He's lost 10kg now.

What I have noticed is his legs in shorts which seemed abnormally large thighs and calves, awful swollen ankles. I'd put it down to cycling. But they're normal size now. I don't know why the science behind it though.

It won’t lock after 4 x 2.5mg doses. From what I’ve ready it will lock once the equivalent of 4 x 5mg doses have been taken. So that will be after 8 doses. And the 5mg pens being sent out now are the ones without the golden dose. It certainly does work out cheaper to do this!

does anyone know what the 7.5mg pens are like? do they have the golden dose? The 5mg I just got from Bolt has the golden dose, but theyve recommended, and Ive accepted, the 7.5mg. Im sticking on 2.5mg so the more doses per pen the better price wise.

I have quite alot in hand now - I took my first 2.5mg from the 5mg pen. There are at least 8 or 9 doses left in this new pen. They think Im taking the last dose next Sunday so I will get the 7.5 after that, which will give me 12 (or hopefully 15) more doses, and then I will need to suspend my subscription and probably swap suppliers as I will lose the Bolt subscription discount, and without anyone taking up my referral code even with the subscription its going to not be as cheap as some other welcome offers.

Ive seen some kind people have posted their referrals - how has the transfer process been? What did they ask you about why you switched?

I order from Medexpress, and yes the 7.5mg pen does have the golden dose.

Ooh my 5mg from bolt didn’t have the golden dose!! Rude!

switching is really easy. They don’t ask why you switch. Only one provider asked who my previous provider was (just a dropdown list on a question). All I’ve ever needed to do is post a picture of my driving licence, my current pen box with label visible and pics of me.

would they know if you posted old pics. Im still very overweight, but just thinking for the future!!

I do like a thing to worry about.

talking of things to worry about I just ate a very lovely burger from a fancy made fresh burger place and 2 spoonfulls of cheesecake. Am I going to suffer?

7238SM · 05/07/2026 22:28

No idea? I wonder if they ask for a date stamp- such as the info you get with digital photos? 🤔
I've only used swift doctor so far. I had to record a video of myself saying the date, then showing myself in a mirror then standing in the scales. So no actual static pics.

Janif · 05/07/2026 23:19

Well lost some weight this week but I'm guessing through the raging diahorrea. For the last 6 weeks I've noticed I have a bad stomach on Saturday which is strange as my jab day is Sunday. Happened on both 2.5 and 5.

I have to say Im still waiting for that moment where I have no food noise and I don't feel a bit sick. And knackered. My friend described her own experience as having bags of energy, no food noise and the weight slipping off. Sounded like heaven in a syringe. Shes weightlifting 3 times a week now! And here I am, full of gas, feeling a bit car sick and no energy to do even 5 mins on rowing on DHs rower. The dogs get walked and im done.

This is also me. The dial hasn't shifted for the last couple of weeks either. I keep reminding myself it's a marathon, not a sprint.... it does feel like a bit of a slog but it will be worth it in the end!

3oldladiesstuckinalavatory · 06/07/2026 21:47

Can anyone recommed insulin needles you've used for the golden dose? I've looked online and the choice is bewildering!

I don’t know whether to take 5mg tomorrow evening or drop down to 3.75 again or even wait a few days and take the 5mg ? Only able to eat from today .. I was so sick all week , I did have energy but I could NOT eat really . Should I perservere and hope I will be ok now that I have already had a week of 5? Any advice ? Scales did drop about 2lbs+ this week though so I suppose that was some thing !!

madeinthe80z · 06/07/2026 22:12

@3oldladiesstuckinalavatory just tried to tag you in this thread but it didn’t work, hopefully the link will 👍

@NettleTea did you survive your burger?! I’m sure you’ll be fine. I have had a few chicken burgers and have had no issues at all, although it’s always been about 5+ days after my jab but I am probably too cautious in the days after injecting!

I’d definitely consider moving down to 3.75. It’s not ideal to not want to eat at all, you don’t want to affect your metabolism in the long term. How many calories have you managed each day on average?

I actually am embarrassed to admit I don’t count the calories but this week I was o my able to eat some mcvities digestives ( can’t stomach any other brand ), a few jellies , half a slices of toast , tiny bit of chocolate , half a banana . Things like that . V bad . Couldn’t even face any protein except I had a sausage on half a slice of toast at the weekend .

mollio · 06/07/2026 22:32

It was like morning sickness and I could only eat carbs ….. so crap !!!

I woke up this morning at about 6 with a little bit of a dodgy tummy, but it wasnt as bad as it could have been. I avoided chips which I know to be a problem. Although I did pick a few from my son's 'VooDoo Fries' (and if anyone is local they will know where I went and why the burgers are so delicious!)

Im quite intrigued as to why my food noise is still in full force. Im just on the 2.5mg and really I could probably forget to eat alot of the time. I think my blood sugars which were tending to drop badly when I inevitably went hours and hours without food, dont seem to be doing that any more - so less spikey. But I do need to try to remember that lunch break.

Today Ive not had lunch and my calories were pretty low, so Ive just made myself eat a left over chicken leg from the fridge to up protein and calories.

I am trying at least to get the breakfast and the evening meal as a routine, but the days when Im either working in the studio and lose track of time, or Im out on the glampingsite cleaning the units, I just forget.

Im managing about 80gm protien a day, my target is 115gm.
