My initial goal was 10st, but I used to sit quite happily for many years at around 9.5 stone so maybe that as an aspirational goal.

I did go down to 8.5 stone about 15 years ago, but that was due to massive stress when DH was very ill, I had two small children, a full time job and I was barely eating. I was tiny and probably malnourished, so don't have any desire to revisit that weight.

I did read that the first fat to be lost is the visceral fat around your internal organs, so we should be happy that's gone, even if it takes a while to show on the outside.

I've just re-read your stats @Boreded and your losses are really impressive - 3.5lbs per week is some going!

Yeah but at my weight it can come off pretty quickly.

I’ve had to increase my calories a little bit now, which I expected because there is only so long you can shred your body on 850. I’m on about 1000 now but I suspect I’ll be on 1200 within a couple of weeks.

I have an incredibly sedentary lifestyle though, so I’ll need to add in some exercise and with it will be a need for significantly more calories again there. So I would expect to settle into a 2lb a week rate but getting much healthier than now where I have just been focussed on getting a huge chunk of the fat off quickly.

10st for a target…you are getting close then, just a little over a stone left 🥳 I’d be getting excited at being that close to it

NettleTea · 19/07/2026 09:52

week 13 jab and down 1.3kg this week, despite the weird eating

so a total loss of 14.2kg / 2 st 3 lbs

starting weight 14 st 11 lbs
current weight 12 st 8lbs

target weight is around the 9 - 9.5 stone. If I go over 10 st it impacts my lymphodema and my legs start swelling, then everything spirals from there - think its something to do with compression of lymph vessels in my groin

Hillsmakeyoustrong · 19/07/2026 11:37

Well done everyone. Some really good progress 👏 and I have to say ive not found it easy to keep going in this heat. Since I last weighed in 2 weeks ago, ive lost 1kg, so ive slowed down.

SW 87.6KG
CW 82 KG

I had stopped tracking my calories because I was still getting suppression and roughly kept to the right foods but I have lapsed a little and it has slowed down my progress so back on recording calories 🙄

The anxiety hasn't calmed down but being aware that its the mounjaro does help. I spoke to my GP about it and she said she had had a few patients come off WLI for the same reason. I may go over to the other side and try Wegovy but for now ive gone down to 45 clicks on my pen having been at 2.5 the last 2 weeks. Some suppression is better than nothing.

Also. My period hasn't come! Im 50 this year so not unusual but I do wonder whether the significant fat reduction in my stomach fat has taken away substitute oestrogen stores...huge increase in hot flushes and night sweats as well.

Man. Its definitely a journey 😅

That's a real confidence booster @NettleTea ! I hate pretty much everything in the shops at the moment (why is every top cropped and/or puff-sleeved? I don't need any help looking any wider than I am.) I did buy a cheap pair of wide floaty sort of cheesecloth trousers this week, but I haven't even tried them on yet for fear of disappointment.

Weigh-in day for me today and 0.75kg /1.65lbs off this week, which I'm quite surprised by as I've had quite a bit of alcohol this week.

Total loss 8.4kg / 18.52lbs in 9 weeks.

I'm just 1.5lbs away from being in the TENS!!! and BMI is 25.1 - so close!

I caught sight of myself in the mirror in shorts pants and a bra this morning, and there are fewer bulges and my stomach is definitely not as "Henry VIII" as it was, so finally I can see some changes.

Well done on your loss.
As for all the floaty clothes, I've tried. I have to accept as a short woman (who's a bit rounder than ideal) they just make me look like a barrel on legs, albeit quite nice legs.

Janif · 19/07/2026 12:53

Week 9. 5th week of 5 mg. Still having an upset tummy at times but I think I can track that to when I'm overdoing the sugar. Also had two periods 8 days apart but probably age related (late forties). Scales are still going in the right direction which is great. I don't get much appetite suppression but I've decided to not increase to 7.5mg but improve willpower.
SW 77kg
PW 73.7kg
CW 72.5 kg
GW 65kg

My anxiety has gone through the roof recently too. I’ve put it down to the work my body is doing to lose weight rather than the meds themselves but you never know. I think I will just work through it for now but it is definitely hitting hard the last couple of weeks.

Stick with it, and come vent to us if you need to :)

Yes I definitely feel my body is under a sort of stress and it is dysregulating. Thanks for your support and ditto on the rant 👍

I’ve been a bit AWOL recently, but now been catching up with the success stories and questions.

I’ve been on 2.5 for three months and have got an upcoming conversation with the pharmacist about next dose. I regained half a kilo this week so I think I’ve pushed the 2.5 as far as it will go in terms of reprogramming my set point and am now committed to ordering the 5mg.

I want to go up slowly so first 3.75 and see how I go. I have a box of the needles. I just want to check that I won’t end up being ‘locked out’ after four doses of 3.75. Are there basically 240 clicks in a pen that can be divided up into as many doses as desired?

Also, has anyone had trouble with their eyes whilst on the MJ? For some reason, I am totally paranoid about causing vision problems.

Thank you in advance for help and wisdom!

Nothing at all with my eyes, had t even heard of that as a thing to be honest.

Yes in the clicks, and then there will still be the golden dose at the end that you can draw out with a needle, though people have said to use one to draw it out then a different one to inject because it can be dulled from going into the pen.

Is it possible to get to the golden dose in my current 2.5 pen by forcing the mechanism? I’m too scared to use alternative syringes, but feel ok to put an extra needle head on it if there’s still liquid in there.

Yep it’s definitely possible! My husband and I have forced 6 pens now to get the golden dose. Just be aware though that the 5mg pens don’t have a golden dose anymore 😭

Yeah, my husband used his teeth to hold the end while he twisted the pen. He said it feels like you are grinding plastic against plastic but it does go round, just turn it all the way to the one.

I leave him to it and he does my jab, couldn’t do it myself because I’m a massive wimp.

How can you tell? I have a couple in the fridge and was counting my weeks including the golden dose, might need one extra pen if they don’t have the extra in it

It’s the ‘new style pen’ that everyone has been talking about. The plunger inside the pen starts out much lower down. All of the pens will be moved to this style eventually but the pharmacies have started with the 5mg and 12.5mg apparently.

I’ll get them out in a bit and compare. Thanks

I found it really easy - just gave it a good hard twist.

Well…I’ve just checked and I guess I’m down 6 doses.

wonder if there is time to change my 5 to a 7.5 (there probably won’t be because it is due to be issued tomorrow)

I guess I need one more pen then. When the next one comes I’ll have a 2.5mg (5 doses), 2 full 5mg (16 doses), a partially used 5mg (7 doses). If I skip 3 during my holiday I’ll be good for my last dose in the middle of Feb. That’s not going to be long enough to get to goal.

Thank you. Annoying about new pens for the 5mg.

I haven’t kept my 2.5mg in the fridge, but I figure that if it says to use by 30 days, the last bit of 2.5 should be good as it will be 28 days since I used my first dose.

Is everyone who stretches out a pen for longer than 30 days keeping it in the fridge? So that’s what I’ll need to do with my 5mg if I take it at 3.75?

Yes, I've kept my pens in the fridge. With my 5mg I used 3mg, 3mg, 4mg then then 5mg, 5mg, 5mg so 6 weeks worth.

NettleTea · Yesterday 08:35

yes I always keep my pens in the fridge. being scrupulously clean around using the wipes and quick out, inject, and back. the 5 mg I am using at 2.5 so should have 10 weeks in there as seems to be an old style

Wow you have a right stash. Have you been ordering more frequently than monthly?
