The plateaus are soo annoying. Mind has definitely been for weeks now - but going to try to stay positive and focused.
still feeling better than this time last year.

have to remind myself not to get too discouraged- and take it a day at a time.

You’re absolutely right, that’s how we’ve got to deal with plateauing. (along with a little checking that we are actually eating well and not over/under doing it). And it’s a NSV in itself to stay on track through these days. And you’re also correct that we are in a much better place than where we started, and need to keep that in our thoughts too.

Foreveronaplane · 27/04/2026 18:03

@Kbr22👏👏👏👏 woohoo!

Plateaux are 😣 so all the NSVs are inspirational. My year is at end of May & I’m inspired by you all to push on to lose 4lb (so near yet so far) to hit my 4st target.

Gingercar · 27/04/2026 19:10

Mine is the end of May too. I’d have loved to have lost another half a stone by then, but I’m looking at my records and my last lb loss was on the 2nd April, so it’s not looking likely!

Apprenante · 27/04/2026 22:52

@Kbr22 that's brilliant!

@Kbr22 - Isn’t it wonderful to be “normal” - BMI wise, at least !
Huge congratulations to you . Enjoy the celebratory dancing ! 🩷

ElsieJay · 28/04/2026 09:26

@Megsdaughter - a size 12 is a size 12, no matter the brand .
What a fantastic surprise - well done you ! ⭐️

Just checking in on the new thread. Great to get a reminder of 'the list'.

My jab-iversary is 2nd May so I'm not going to say much right now but I suspect of everyone left on this thread I had the most to lose from the start, and still the most to lose now. But I'm happy with my progress and am determined to keep going to goal. I'll probably be the only one left by then 😂

WhynotJanet · 28/04/2026 11:53

My anniversary is on 5th May @AlicesMum2025 and looking forward to it. I would say doesn’t matter what the figure is on the scales that day, we have all come a long way from day one and should be proud of our achievements.

I’ll still be here, @AlicesMum2025 , with one hand lifting weights and the other one in the biscuit tin.

It is amazing how far we have all come.

Ditto me - I'm 2.5 stone down with ideally another 2.5 stone to go.

My body is fighting me for every single pound 🤣

Gingercar · 28/04/2026 21:50

Ladies, have you done progress photos? I’ve plateaued for the whole of April, and prior to that, only lost a stone since Xmas. It’s soooo frustrating. But I’m plodding on. (I think my portions might be getting too big again and I might need to tweak). But today I added another progress photo to the file - and despite not having physically lost that much weight, I can really see progress in the photo, even if the scales are depressing. So stick with it!
Im two stones above my highest BMI, but I feel like I will stop if I can do another stone.

Well done !

Gingercar · 29/04/2026 10:24

🤣🤣it’s weird isn’t it. That’s only the last stone. I was talking to someone online in a WLI group who said she dropped from a size 14 to a 10 very quickly while the scales were not showing any movement. (Bring it on, I said!).

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 29/04/2026 10:32

From a size 18, 17 stone 2 in May 2025 to a size 14-16ish, 12 stone 5 now, almost a year later. Have lost 2lbs over the past three weeks but think I need to put the size 16 jeans away now and get the 14s out.

Gingercar · 29/04/2026 11:34

That’s brilliant! You can really see the difference.
We have been very similar all the way.

I was 17.0 at the end of May and am 12.7 now, where I have remained all month!! This is a before - I’m just a sack of spuds. No shape at all! Two more stones to go officially, but one more will probably do me.
It’s really motivational to do these comparison photos!

SussexLass87 · 29/04/2026 13:22

Wowsers - hello and whit whoo to you both! You look incredible!! ❤️

SussexLass87 · 29/04/2026 13:37

I was just thinking that I hadn't got many progress photos...and sadly realised it's mainly because I hated having my photo taken SO much.

I also didn't really think that MJ would help me - like all of us I'd tried so many other things and nothing had ever worked.

Just managed to dig out a photo from last April...and wow. Even I can admit that it's a big difference!

I've "only" lost 2.5 stone, especially compared to how well others have done but feeling lighter in so many different ways.

Onwards and downwards 👇 💕

So nice to see the thread filling up again - maybe the sunshine has tempted us out!

It's a real help to focus on it and be reminded to keep on track - thanks all.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 29/04/2026 21:23

Holy shit you guys. We are so healthy and hot now. We've done so well and need to keep that tucked away somewhere in case we forget.

I'm struggling a little with how slow the weight is coming off. That old rhetoric around eating less and moving more just doesn't track. It has to be scientifically inaccurate for a high amount of the population. Honestly half the time I'm existing on one meal a day. Porridge, from a sachet, with precise amount of milk, or a protein ready meal, prepared exactly as instructed. I'm finding it hard because I'm hungry a lot of the time and this isn't sustainable, but the weight will not come off.
We really have no idea about how weight retention works. We want it to make sense, as a species, but we don't have the data yet. We have half the story and it's used against us.
