@Apprenante - no laughing here , you look wonderful !!
I think we need to be realistic around BMI and size/ weight at our age - I say that because you and I are of a similar vintage .
As long as I look ok in the clothes I want to wear , feel happy and healthy and hover around my present weight I’m more than happy .
The bikini was probably a one-off event for me , the beach was quiet and just wanted to prove I could do it if I wanted to .
In the height of the summer season , when Nissi Beach is full of bronzed and beautiful twenty-somethings I very much doubt I’ll brave it !!

WhynotJanet · 01/05/2026 19:40

Oh well done @Apprenante . What a difference, you look great 😊

SutekhsEars · 02/05/2026 08:55

There's some hot women on this thread!

HKG · 02/05/2026 09:16

@Apprenante you ROCK STAR!!! Look at you!!! Inspiration!!!

Apprenante · 02/05/2026 09:25

@SutekhsEars I need the laughing emoji to respond to your comment! I'm freezing most of the time, as, I think, most of us are.

(I realise that I'm being very vain to think your comment was prompted partly by my photo. I do agree that people's photos generally are amazing)

SignedUpAgain · 02/05/2026 10:04

It’s my one year anniversary.
Age 60
SW 122.6 kg ( 19st 4lb)
size 20-22

current weight
88.6 kg ( just under 14 stone)
size 16 ish

total loss
34 kg ( 5 stone 5lb)

it’s been really slow the last few months. The same kg on and off.

I’d like to think I can lose more. But definitely struggling with it. Only 3 people know I take MJ, just couldn’t be bothered with the constant negativity.

I don’t really notice any change looking wise since about Christmas, but this week someone in my choir, I don’t even know her. Told me I looked amazing. And lost so much weight. I guess I have. Over 5 stone!

I feel more energy, much much more confident in public. Didn’t feel like I had to hide at the back of choir concert. I can be me again. This is the best bit, less pain in my joints too.

I’ve never been a shopper, and I needed to buy new tops and trousers. Nowhere special just Next, New Look, M&S etc near me.

But maybe it’s the 20 years of being too big to shop that made me think I don’t like shopping. Like an excuse.

well done everyone on this thread. I read all the messages and they’re so helpful.

ConfusedMiddleAger83 · 02/05/2026 10:39

Popping back in, I’ve another week till my anniversary so will see where I’m at then. Just wanted to say all the losses and the photos are amazing and so inspirational. It’s not been an easy year but look how far we’ve all come!

Apprenante · 02/05/2026 15:01

@SignedUpAgain fantastic! More energy and more confidence is what we're all looking for, I suspect. People can be very reticent about saying that you've lost weight as so many think it's impolite to mention it. It doesn't mean that they haven't noticed and admired what you've done.

@ConfusedMiddleAger you're so right. We've all made such progress and a lot of it is due to this very supportive thread.

Megsdaughter · 02/05/2026 15:33

I've been to have my nails done today. Havn't had them done in 20 years or so. Never felt I wanted to as always felt what was the point.
Went into town in my new trousers and top in a size 16 😀 had my nails done then met an old friend for lunch. She said she didn't recognise me to start with as I hav'nt seen her since I started to lose weight. Made my day.

Herewegoagain80 · 02/05/2026 16:36

It’s my 1 year anniversary today and I’ve been in two minds about posting my progress photos as I feel quite emotional about it. Partly because I can’t believe I let myself get into that state in the first place 😭 but also because I’m so glad that I can actually see the progress. At times it’s felt like such a hard slog with a year of calorie tracking, prioritising protein and hitting the gym 4 or 5 times a week. It’s definitely been worth it and I’m glad I decided to take the jump when I did.

Looking fab-u-lous @Herewegoagain80.
I totally understand your emotions and echo everything you wrote. Additionally, you've inspired me to post my photos in a couple of weeks when I hit my anniversary, so thank you.

I was inspired to do my progress pics by those posted by (sorry if I’ve missed anyone)

Who all look absolutely amazing. Let’s pay it forward and hopefully celebrate more anniversary progress pics as the month goes on.

Gingercar · 02/05/2026 17:41

Happy anniversary @Herewegoagain80. Congratulations on your hard work- it’s really paid off and you look absolutely great. 😍. I know what you mean about feeling emotional. I can’t believe how much of a state I let myself get. And it was an overwhelming amount to tackle, so I ignored it. I’m so pleased with this “last chance” boost to having a normal life.

lissie123 · 02/05/2026 19:21

I can’t believe it’s a year. Three stone down and now trying to maintain- which is a huge challenge. Congratulations to everyone and thank you for making the journey a little easier .

Apprenante · 02/05/2026 22:35

@Herewegoagain80 you look completely like a different person! You must feel amazing.

I'm loving the photos - we need to celebrate our own success and that of others.

I'm also very conscious that some people will have worked just as hard and have different outcomes. Let's make sure we celebrate everyone. Not just the losers but everyone who is still posting!

AlicesMum2025 · 03/05/2026 18:52

Hi all, it was my jab-iversary yesterday but I've waited until weigh in today to post. I have now lost 54.2kg (8st 5lb).

I started at 140.3kg (22st 1.5lb), size 26-28. I'm now 86.1kg (13st 8lb), size 16. BMI has gone from 54.1 to 33.2.

So yes, even after a year I'm still obese and would qualify to start mounjaro, but no denying that I've lost a ton of weight. I've lost 2/3 of the total amount I want to lose, and it will probably take me another 6-9 months to get to goal.

My life has been totally transformed by this weight loss. I was struggling to climb stairs, could hardly get up and down from the floor, I couldn't bend over to tie my shoelaces, and just moving around generally was getting increasingly difficult each year. It has taken many sacrifices to lose this weight, both financially and personally, but it's been worth it and no question in my mind that I'm going to keep going.

Sharing some photos comparing now to when I started going to a gym in August. No filter, just raw photos in terrible lighting!

(The photos from May 2025 are not fit for sharing - I think when I started the gym I'd lost 17.6kg / 2st 10lb so imagine that on top of what I looked like in the August gym photo!)

Apprenante · 03/05/2026 18:58

Congratulations on your jabbiversary @AlicesMum2025 . You look very different. It's particularly noticeable from the side. Being able to move more easily is a fantastic NSV.

I hope your gym has plenty of mirrors so that you can enjoy checking yourself out!

Gingercar · 03/05/2026 19:54

Happy anniversary @AlicesMum2025 . Fabulous work, there’s a massive difference!

SignedUpAgain · 03/05/2026 22:54

Amazing results @AlicesMum2025. You look fantastic and I bet you feel fantastic too.

Seahorsesplendour · 03/05/2026 23:13

Hi you incredible people!!!! I can’t believe it’s been a year!!!! I dropped off sometime after Christmas… I’ve missed you all!!!!

it’s been great catching up with your updates & the photos are incredible!!!! What an inspiring bunch of people!!!!

im going to make an effort to stick around more as I’m already feeling more motivated!!!!

lots of life stuff happening which has pushed the weight loss around rather!!

had to drop my hours at work due to ds additional needs so couldn’t stick on mj as priced out. Changed to wegovy … not gone so well… I think if I’d started on that it might have been really different as definitely makes me feel fuller & slows down digestion … but does nothing for me to the food noise & cravings. Sadly my ability to overeat & eat past the full signals (how else do we end up with 7st to lose…) have surfaced fully. It’s made me really really tired & sluggish & constipated with very little benefit.

im almost at my year anniversary (10/5) and have decided to finish what I’ve got then I’m stopping.

I’ve still got 2.5 st to lose but that’s a hell of a lot less than I had this time last year & generally (wegovy aside) I feel great!

so I am embracing where I am I’m determined to maintain & will get support here! I’m going to have a wli detox & save up & hopefully in another year or so restart MJ and kick the last bit of weight to be a normal bmi! I’m 34 bmi now.

im going to post all my stats & pre & post photos on my anniversary as really want to remind myself how far I’ve come & dwell on the positives!!!

and for those who remember me I am known for long posts so I haven’t changed in that respect 🙈😂🤣

it’s good to be back & well done all!!!! 💖

PandaIsMySpiritAnimal · 04/05/2026 16:38

Hi everyone, I was part of the May 25 group but then life got in a way a little in the last couple of months.

It's so lovely to see everyone's progress. Well done to everyone.

My anniversary was on 2nd of May.

I'm down 31.8kg or 70lbs.

I want to lose another 10kg/23lbs.

I had an extremely long plateau, about 9 weeks. It was very frustrating at times, losing ang gaining the same 3 lbs, over and over. However, have now lost 2kg/4.5 lbs in the last 8 days, so really hoping it will start moving again.

Im still on the overweight category, which is so frustrating at times, but the pictures makes me feel like a different person.

Still feel incredibly grateful I was able to start on Mounjaro when I did and was able to carry through with it till now. I think at the current pace, it will take me another 5 months to reach my goal. I'm now on 15mg.

Hey @PandaIsMySpiritAnimal -you look so good! You must feel fabulous.

Hello @Seahorsesplendour nice to hear from you.

It’s so lovely to hear from everyone again. Although I’m terrified by the 9 week plateau. Thought my current 4 weeks was bad enough!

WhynotJanet · 05/05/2026 06:43

Loving all the progress pics and congratulations to all of you lovely women.
It’s my anniversary today and feeling a bit emotional about it but not brave enough to post any pics.

SW 15st 3lb BMI 31 size 18/20
CW 11st 11lbs BMI 24 size 12/14 (only just a 12 though and only in some brands)

I am happy with my loss of about 3.5st but would still like to lose another stone then maintain. Who knows how long that will take, I’m a bit of a plodder. Need to order at least one more pen but now looking at maintenance providers because of my BMI. I know this has been done to death but who would people recommend that would prescribe for BMI 24? I use monj.co.uk but looking for recommendations.

Has anyone had any SE or adverse reaction to taking one week off?
i am heading to the US just a very short trip and don’t think I want to jab early and potentially be a bit off, during a 9/10 hr flight. Or just take a week off?

I’m on 12.5 currently.

I missed a week whilst in Malaysia without any problems.
