I’d just see how you feel. You might be fine. You might have had a good dose.

HKG · 04/09/2026 22:54

Oh how frustrating @Apprenante !!! That sounds like. Good idea to wait and see after a few days how you’re feeling. You might get more suppression than you’re expecting after missing 3 weeks?

and yay @Gingercar for the weekends only! This will be just the boost you need I’m sure of it. Let’s smash the C25K together! And if that’s 1lb down and 3 to go that means you’re a quarter of the way there lady!

I was back at the gym for the first time today since the beginning of the kids’ holiday so 8 weeks and made the mistake of saying g to my PT husband ‘that set didn’t feel too hard’… he whacked the weights up and gave me a ‘finisher’. Now my bum aches. 🫠🫠🫠

going to try C25K week 6 again tomorrow. But despite all this I am unexpectedly 3lbs up. Gutted so am tirating down to come off.

Gingercar · 04/09/2026 23:03

I’ve gone up while titrating down. It might just be something that can happen that might settle down? (she says optimistically!).
And sore bums are the fashion! Mine is the same. Not sure if it was running or swimming.
One of my customers At weekend was someone I used to compete with at riding club years ago. I was saying I hadn’t ridden for years and she said there were loads of people on her stable yard that wanted horses riding, so I might go with her one day. Our lovely horse is just too old now.

HKG · 04/09/2026 23:06

Oh what a lovely thought! Definitely don that and you’d be helping out those horses too! I have always been scared of horses which felt a shame as they are so beautiful and I’m born in the year of the horse. I feel like I should have an affinity to them - go and ride for me! I can live vicariously through you!

Apprenante · 05/09/2026 10:22

Your own PT @HKG ! I expect that's a mixed blessing.

@Gingercar riding other people's horses as a favour to them sounds like a brilliant idea. All the fun and no expense.

Off tomorrow for a few days visiting gardens and houses to celebrate our 53rd wedding anniversary. I was, of course, a child bride.

Gingercar · 05/09/2026 11:27

Wow 53 years! Huge congratulations.

To @HKG hello from our big guy, who is as soft as mush 90% of the time. He is wearing my hat from when I was cabin crew.

I have a very strange sensation that I’ve not had since I started MJ - I don’t feel like food today. I ate half a banana and had to leave it. So not me! I’m observing and am intrigued! Very strange when I’ve dropped 10mg and have been using this pen for 3 months now.

HKG · 05/09/2026 14:57

Oh @Gingercar he is beautiful! I feel like he would be a wonderful therapist, I trust him already!

ElsieJay · 05/09/2026 16:24

What a handsome beast, @Gingercar !
This MJ journey is very unpredictable isn’t it - definitely had less urge to eat at 2.5 dosage.
Hoping the suppression continues for you as you’ve not really had much thus far🤞

@HKG - on balance, don’t think I’m envying you having a personal trainer DH - or the aching bum, for that matter ! 😂

@Apprenante - fellow child bride here, our 53rd not until November though. Your anniversary weekend plans sound lovely - have a great time . 💕 👰🏻‍♀️ 🤵🏼 🍾 🥂

DBatteryBand · 05/09/2026 18:43

Beautiful @Gingercar

My DD is horsey - I spend a lot of time standing about in wellies with straw in my hair, holding ponies or filling water buckets. She is injured at the moment, so no riding, but we have a deal that when she is fixed, we will go riding together. I haven't ridden for about 35 years, but I can't wait. Enjoy riding the horses at your friend's yard.

Apprenante · 06/09/2026 19:10

@Gingercar I know nothing about horses. If he's soft as mush 90% of the time what does he do for the other 10%?

Gingercar · 06/09/2026 20:24

He’s an old man now, so he’s probably good 99% of the time. But he’s a massive, powerful horse - he’s my husband’s horse and my husband is 6’4. He was being looked over by the police when we bought him. And when a 17h powerful thing wants to throw his weight about there is a lot of it! He has put me in hospital once, simply because he’d got fed up with having his teeth done. But he was bought because he was so chilled. My own horse was a total cow with my husband, for no reason, she just had no patience with novices, so we bought this guy as he was so laid back and easy. He’s not got a malicious bone in his body, but if he gets upset or excited about something he can be hard to keep hold of.
Nowadays he’s the sensible, boss of the other horses that stable with him.

Gingercar · 06/09/2026 20:31

Ps, I’ve still not had much appetite. It’s a bit naughty of me, but I’m not forcing myself to eat, so haven’t had much this weekend and the scales are already down 2lbs. I’m just a little intrigued as it’s just not normal for me. And I’d like to think that usually I’m eating very sensibly and using good habits. It would just be amazing to get some of the weight that seems to have crept on over the holidays off easily! It could also be that I’ve really picked up the exercise again last week, running and swimming again.

Megsdaughter · 07/09/2026 09:40

Hello from Cyprus (waves to @ElsieJay accross the Island). God its impossible to eat at an Airport without massive amounts of carbs!. Our flight was at 14.15 so we wanted to eat before we got on. Everything was carb heavy. We then went to M&S to get a meal deal to take on the plane. I intended to get a salad, but there was none left so ended up with a chicken wrap. Did get some pineapple although it was the only fruit left.
Still this morning back on track with lovely fresh fruit ( plus the dreaded prunes which I have to have).

Gingercar · 07/09/2026 11:39

Happy holidays @Megsdaughter! Enjoy yourself. Don’t go ridiculously crazy, but don’t be too strict either. You’ve got to live your life and it can be picked up again later.

I still have suppression. I’m finding it so strange and fascinating. And then m now 4lbs down since Wednesday, which is also very unusual. I will pick the ball up soon and eat better. It’s just such a first to experience this feeling for me.

ElsieJay · 07/09/2026 13:39

@Megsdaughter - Welcome to Cyprus ! 🇨🇾
😎🏖️👙☀️

Totally agree re the dismal beige carb-laden offerings, both at the airport and on board the plane.
Don’t get me started on the vastly inflated prices too …..
Easyjet used to do a mini pot of unsweetened porridge with cranberries, which was tasty and felt semi- healthy, but they replaced it a couple of years back with one already containing syrup 😡.
Now that has disappeared also ( no loss).

Are you self- catering, or in a hotel ?
I joined you in the fruity breakfast club this morning with a huge slice of honeydew melon and seedless black grapes 😇.

@Gingercar - wow, 4lbs down already , that’s a great boost 🥳 ! - enjoy the suppression , it’s really great having no “food noise”.
Weird sensation at first though .

Apprenante · 07/09/2026 17:51

What did you do @Gingercar to achieve this wonderful suppression? I don't think you should struggle to eat, it will probably wear off soon.

Thank you for the equine information. I now have visions of you and your DH riding together hand in hand through beautiful country side.

@Megsdaughter and @ElsieJay enjoy your holidays. ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️

ElsieJay · 07/09/2026 19:52

Thanks, @Apprenante !
Hope all good with you and yours ❤️ xx

SussexLass87 · 07/09/2026 20:32

Ah happy holidays everyone!

We've just booked our summer holiday for 2027 which feels very indulgent...7 nights at an all inclusive in Corfu.

I cannot tell you how huge of a departure holiday wise this is for me, DH and the mini Sussexes! After being rained on almost solidly for a week in France the decision fatigue of trying to entertain children in the rain in a foreign country was just too much. So! Hopefully (!!) our biggest decision will be "beach or pool first" next summer 🤣

I've already checked out the food and there's plenty of salads and BBQd / grilled meat. We won't talk about the unlimited ice creams or crepe bar...!

Nice to have a holiday to look forward to, but also as a target for next summer as well.

Xx

Apprenante · 07/09/2026 21:02

Sounds lovely @SussexLass87 . I'd be making a counting down the days calendar.

Good idea! And another to countdown how much weight I still need to lose 🤣🤣

I don’t know what happened! I had been really complaining that I’d never had any suppression and it wasn’t fair! Then “bing”.
It has worn off a bit since weekend, I’m eating fine again, but the food noise has massively decreased. I’d lost 4lbs in 5 days this week, which is amazing- I haven’t had a big loss for over a year. And it means one more lb until I am back to where I was a couple of weeks ago. It’s perked up my morale too seeing the scales finally move. While I’m hoping for a little suppression to stay, I think I prefer being able to eat well - it’s affected my energy levels, which is annoying as I am cranking up my exercise again. It’s just a bit of a novelty for me experiencing how the drug actually works for most people.
As ElsieJay said, I too had my biggest losses on 2.5mg. I stayed on it for 2 months and lost 2 stones, but increased the dose (every couple of months) to see if I could get some suppression. Perhaps it was actually the right dose for me? Who knows.

ElsieJay · 07/09/2026 23:54

@SussexLass87 Oooh, that sounds just the ticket ! 🏖️
Lovely to have something to look forward to, and a great incentive to keep on keeping on.

AlicesMum2025 · 08/09/2026 11:10

Hi all, just popping in to encourage those of you doing couch 25k to stick with it. I started running in April this year using the None to Run beginner plan, a more gradual version of c25k because that was too advanced for me at the time. I followed the programme with 3 runs a week, then moved on to their 5k plan and completed it this weekend with my first 5k race. I'd run up to 6k in training so I knew I could do the distance, but doing it with other people zooming past me, and in a forest instead of on the road, was a different experience. But I bloody did it. I ran the whole thing and, even though it took me twice as long as the fastest finisher, I am really proud of myself. I got a lovely medal and did something I never thought I'd be able to do.

None to Run has a similar big jump from run-walk to continuous running like c25k, and I cried the morning I was going to attempt it because I didn't think I could do it. But I did and the sense of satisfaction was amazing.

You've got this 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

AlicesMum2025 · 08/09/2026 11:15

I've now lost 68.3kg / 10st 11 / 151 lbs

I've got 1.9kg to go until I've lost 50% of my starting body weight. It's absolute madness to think I used to walk around with a whole other me on my body.

My goal weight is 12kg away and I'm really hoping to get there by the end of the year. I'm training for a hyrox now though so I might need to pause weight loss in order to eat enough to fuel my training. I'll have to see how it goes.
