Hey folks,

how’s the rain? My boys are happily dashing in and out dashing in the rain today which is gorgeous. I’ve been out for the C2K week 6 run 1 today but it was tough! Feeling rather bleurgh this last week as my weight has crept up by half a lb every single day. I don’t even know why. Ooooof!

Im a broken record and bored of myself now even but I’m going to tail off now as the last 4lbs took me 6 weeks to lose and has crept on this last week for no reason. It’s time. I believe I can gain weight all on my own 🤣🤣🤣!

Megsdaughter · 29/08/2026 16:38

I was losing so slowly, took me 3 months to lose the last stone, then the last 2 weeks ave lost first 2.2lb then this week 2.8 pounds! No idea why as eating the same as usual.
Been sorting out my clothes for holiday next week and still cant believe Im packing 16s to wear. Cant remember the last time I wore a 16. Probably 25 odd years ago. In fact my wedding suit was a 16 and our holiday us to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary so its lovely to be have bought a beautiful dress in a 16 to wear out to dinner while we are away. Its fir DHs birthday as actual anniversary isnt till November.

Thanks for some good ideas to take my mind off sweet things.

I think I’ll try the diet drink. Kinda went off Coke Zero and diet cokes but they might hit the spot.

ElsieJay · 30/08/2026 20:01

@SignedUpAgain - I find frozen grapes very useful when the sweet cravings hit, but agree the best thing is not to have goodies
( or rather, baddies ! ) in the house if you can possibly avoid it.
I take my hat off to you in that respect, @Gingercar !

Nothing much to report - 1lb off, unexpected and possibly undeserved.
We’re more or less packed now, and jabbed this morning - have the kit all ready to take with me this time.
Have made two lemon drizzle cakes to take for DGD and DGS - and promised to make another whilst we’re there , for DGD to take back to Uni in Italy.
Will try to keep up with the thread, dodgy WiFi permitting .
Onwards and downwards, still joining in the fun ! ✈️ 🇨🇾 🌞 🏖️ 👙

@Megsdaughter - wishing you and your DH a very happy Silver Wedding holiday ! 💕

I would kill to lose a stone in three months now, the last one took me almost a year. And 2lbs takes me a month nowadays. If I’m lucky. I’m really going at a snail’s pace. You sound like you’re still loosing well, be pleased/proud. You’re still motoring along. And have a fabulous holiday, flaunt your hard work, and enjoy yourself.

Im not sure that anyone should be taking hats off to my resolve, it’s not been so great lately!

But I have one more day to work and then I will have a lot more time for me, so fingers crossed that I can pick the ball up again.

You aren't alone. It's taken me since January to get rid of the latest stone and I've got at least another 1.5 to 2 to go yet.

I did look at some old photos of me this weekend when I was overall 6 stone heavier. I did get some of that weight off myself (about 1.5 stone) prior to WLI.

It has somewhat helped my resolve again. I need to shift some more and get to maintenance and never ever put that amount of weight on again.

Awful. I don’t know how you endure all these holidays ElsieJay!

Gingercar · 02/09/2026 22:53

I have picked up the reins again today after a lazy day yesterday. I ran again for the first time in three weeks and was pleased to find that I still could. I managed a mile and a half. Strange running in the rain- it was boiling last time. I’m hoping to go swimming again tomorrow too.

Yes, adding my wishes to Ginger’s - double dose of positive thoughts heading your way, @Apprenante .

Thank you @ElsieJay and @Gingercar for your positive wishes. The quantity of medication goes up every week -a bit like MJ but much much faster. First week was 0.8, then this week, which is week 4, 48. This is 60 times higher in a month! Side effects obviously ramp up too and are all quite weird. So we just hope it's doing what it should for her.
It's very scary.

This sounds very heavy for both you and your daughter @Apprenante - I'm sending you so much strength and love.

Thinking of you @Apprenante x

Apprenante · 04/09/2026 09:59

You're all super kind. Thank you.

But I don't want to derail the thread with my worries.

How's everyone doing?

Through my own stupidity - not noticing for three weeks that my pen wasn't actually functioning - I was without MJ at all for three weeks. I'd gone up to the top of my maintenance weight - 10 stone +/- 2lb.

So I used 5mg last Thursday and it very effectively stopped me eating. I'm back to the bottom of my maintenence band. I think I'll have another 5mg today.

Gingercar · 04/09/2026 20:18

You’re not detailing the thread. You were all there for me when my mum died at Xmas. You feel like friends, and that’s what friends do. Plus these sort of things put a strain on you when you’re trying to lose weight. So it’s good to be able to lean on us. (Hope “these sort of things” isn’t offensive).

Gingercar · 04/09/2026 20:27

I’m still using my 15mg pen, but at 2.5mg. I’ve used it for 3 months now! I think I have another three or four jabs from it! I’ve gone back to weekly jabs because I was noticing more hunger. I have a 2.5 pen on the fridge and that’s it, but am considering perhaps ordering another if prices are low. Another thing I noticed when I was spacing the 2.5 jabs out to two weeks was that I was a bit negative about things. Now it might have been that I was feeling tired, but it might have been something to do with the MJ?

Anyway I am only working weekends again so have picked up the running again and I went swimming this week too. My backside is aching so it must be doing something! The scales have gone down a lb, but I have another 3 to shift before I’m back where I was, so it doesn’t count!
@HKG im impressed with your couch 25k progress:

Apprenante · 04/09/2026 20:52

Thank you @Gingercar .

I took 5mg out of my pen today with a syringe BUT it was really difficult to get the needle through the seal on the pen. So the needle bent. Then it was difficult to jab it in as - I think - the needle had blunted. Aaarrrggghhh.
I have no idea how much went in - certainly not all. I'm wondering if to give it a few days and then try another 5 and hope it's easier? I'm not wasting the doses that are left in the pen.
