It’s because you’re slim and gorgeous! I bet you look fabulous.

Megsdaughter · 30/07/2026 07:53

Ive bought a fushia one for our Cyprus holiday next month @HKG . No hiding us hey 😁

Ive also bought pretty dresses off Vinted, four of them and I'm also not at goal by another 2 and half stone. They can go back on Vinted if they are too big next summer. 😄

ElsieJay · 30/07/2026 09:49

Woo-hoo, @HKG !

@Megsdaughter - might see you there , will be looking out for a lady wearing a fuchsia swimsuit and a big confident smile !

ElsieJay · 30/07/2026 09:50

I haven't bought a snazzy swimsuit because I don't really do beach/pool holidays but I have been wearing dresses every day for a few weeks. I always had one or two for special occasions but now I've got loads. (Thank you St Albans market and Vinted.) I don't have a chub rub problem - first summer since I was a teenager that I've been able to say this - and im making the most of it.

Apprenante · 30/07/2026 09:57

PS I bet you all look amazing in yours though!

No chub rub is a new phenomenon for me too. I really did have wobbly thunder thighs. Now they’re quite toned with all the walking and running. Last night I actually tried to get them to rub together when I walked, and my knees knocked together first. (strange things we do for amusement!). It’s lovely not having trousers with a worn patch at the top of the thigh, or worse a hole worn through!

Megsdaughter · 30/07/2026 13:18

Its so cool with out chub shorts under a dress too.
My DH keeps commenting how lovely I look in them. I always use to wear dresses back in the day. When we met I was a size 8, the advent of Lupus diagnosed a year after we married and all the medications and difficulty in walking saw me go to a size 26. He never said a thing as I went up in weight just helped me more as I could do less. I knew I was worse because of the weight but he never complained or said it was.
Now Im back to a 14/16 and able to do so much more, walking further all be it still with my frame. Im managing to stand longer so means I can stand at the cooker a
nd cook more so that when he gets home from work i can actually have a meal ready for him. Im medically retired so at home all day, but he used to come home and cook and clean after work.
WLI has totally changed my life. Not only has it hepled me lose 8 stone it has helped my kidney function, helped with my joint pain and helped so much with my Fibromyalgia pain.
I thought I wouldn't get much lower than 12 stone, maybe onto the overweight catogory rather than the obese before the weight the medications I take, would stop me losing any more, but Im still losing slowly, half lb here whole lb there.
I intend to stay on Wegovey for life on a maintenance level. Not just because of the weight lose, but because of all the other benefits it has given me.

Apprenante · 30/07/2026 17:32

@Megsdaughter Thank you for sharing your experience. I'm a little bit teary because I'm so happy for you - a stranger on the Internet.
I hope your lupus is manageable with the adaptations you've made to accommodate it.

8 stone! Amazing!

DBatteryBand · 30/07/2026 19:48

@Megsdaughter - an incredible achievement. There's so much inspiration on this thread from all the marvellous women who are changing their lives for the better. (It's also good to hear about the lovely husbands who support us, no matter what.)

SignedUpAgain · 30/07/2026 19:56

@Megsdaughter what an incredible story. Well done to you.

I agree the benefits to the rest of our health are overlooked by some people.

And the nasty comments from people saying we are ‘cheating’ really is so annoying.

HKG · 30/07/2026 23:20

@Megsdaughter oh what a lovely story, thank you so much for sharing it with us. What a lovely DH you have and much deserved!

ElsieJay · 31/07/2026 20:52

Golly, @Megsdaughter - didn’t realise life had dealt you such a rotten hand .
Thank goodness for your DH, and the advent of weight loss medication.xx

Happy weekend all...I've lost...drum roll please....a whole 1lb this week 😜🤣 Haha!

Ah well...but in other news I've been getting up earlier each morning, getting into workout stuff and doing a weights session before breakfast. 6 days in a row so far and feeling good...and spent an hour in the sea with the kids today.

It's handy having the summer holidays to get into good habits, change things up a bit then hopefully it'll continue into the new term in September.

Hope you're all having a good weekend so far x

Gingercar · 01/08/2026 22:25

Brilliant @SussexLass87. A lb loss is great. I don’t even get that very often now! And well done on the exercise. It’s amazing how addictive feeling fit can be. I’ve had a chest infection and haven’t run all week, as I’ve read it’s a bad idea. I’ve still walked, but I’ve really missed running. I’m working pretty much every day throughout the summer holidays and it’s not giving me much time to exercise. I’m planning a full on attack when the school holidays are over!

Apprenante · 01/08/2026 22:57

Getting up an hour early to exercise Sussex Lass, missing running Gingercar .... you're both setting us very good examples. All I can offer is that I went for several turns round the park this afternoon because my step count wasnt high enough.

Go you two!!

SignedUpAgain · 02/08/2026 09:24

After no shift for weeks, I have finally got a bit of downward movement.

not sure if it’s connected to dropping down to 10mg, which I feel much better on and it’s cheaper.

Starting weight 122.6kg
Current 86kg.

goal 68 ( I just made that up)
still some to go, according to bmi etc.

need clothes. But hate shopping. Think I’m around 14/16 probably.

ElsieJay · 02/08/2026 11:39

All this exercise going on ! 👏 👏
I’m feeling guilty, it’s been a busy week with general life admin and appointments, but very little purposeful walking. Nausea (presumably going up to 5mg ) hasn’t helped .

Well done on the loss, @SignedUpAgain.

Out for son’s birthday lunch shortly, at a vairy naice country house hotel - it has a spa , which I’m hoping to scope out for a possible future visit / special occasion such as my birthday in a couple of months. 🤞
Maybe even sporting a red swimsuit ….

Yes, Elsiejay in a red swimsuit!!!

DBatteryBand · 02/08/2026 14:47

Wonderful to hear how everyone is doing. All this talk of exercise is making me think it might be time to step it up a bit. Came back from holidays yesterday - with the exception of the catastrophic evening at the trough I posted about above, I was very restrained all week. We walked miles every day (it was a ‘bobble hats, stout boots and cagoules’ type holiday, a long way from the glorious heatwave weather) and we went swimming (sensible black Bravissimo costume - the only one I have found from which my deflated boobs don’t escape as soon as they go underwater. No fancy pants red numbers here). I had miraculously lost 4 pounds the week before we went away, and when I stood on the scales this morning I had high hopes….but it was not to be. I have gained 2 pounds, which I am blaming on standing in the queue in Greggs to buy a bottle of water, which is the closest I got to biscuits and cakes all week. I must have absorbed calories as I waited by the doughnuts.

Oh well. I shall drink water, count my steps and hope for the best. Onwards and downwards!

Apprenante · 02/08/2026 15:12

Greggs probably sprays calories on all their customers. That's very unfair @DBatteryBand

I think you might be right! Those bastards.

DBatteryBand · 06/08/2026 06:36

I feel I have killed our lovely thread with my vehement anti-Greggs sentiments! Hope everyone is ticking along OK.

ElsieJay · 06/08/2026 11:08

Still here, @DBatteryBand ! 👍

Not much to report this week - the nausea I’d had since jabbing 5mg progressed, and I spent most of Monday night in the bathroom.
Wonder if Sunday lunch ( and dessert, albeit a child’s portion ) was what finally tipped me over the edge ?
Anyway, we all had a lovely time and happy to report the Spa is equally stunning and definitely on the wish list !
Feeling better this morning after a couple of very restricted days, both food and energy-wise, and have literally just jabbed 5mg, so hoping for the best.
Onwards and downwards !
